    Beef and chicken sets
    Jia H.

Fantastic lunch sets in a beautiful setting tucked away in an alley, Hed really impressed me with their delicious beef set that came with pumpkin, eggplant, papaya salad, 3 different kinds of rice, and mango pudding. My colleague's chicken set also looked amazing. The food came out super fast and the service was excellent. Highly recommend for lunch!

This is a hidden gem. It is tucked in an alley so don't be surprised if you see trash bins here and there on your way here. Lighting gives a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Though Monica was the only server tending to all customers, she was calm and provided good service. They offer set dishes. Set 2 was delicious. It had caramelized pork belly, coconut mushroom soup, spicy sauteed eggplant, green papaya salad, mix of 3 different rice, and homemade pudding. Each dish is was individually great and bursting with flavor! Dining here was a lovely experience. Highly recommend!

Just had an amazing lunch at Hed verythai! I tried the chicken set meal and it was soo good! It came with sampler of dishes from chicken curry (10/10), sautéed butternut squash (10/10), Thai coconut mushroom soup (8/10), green papaya salad (9/10, spicy ), rice varieties, and mango pudding (8/10). My server, Natiene (sp?) was incredibly sweet and accommodating :) The ambience was bright and welcoming. I never knew such a beautiful restaurant could be in an alley.

I've been here 4-5 times by now. I first came with a friend and have brought my boyfriend and parents back here on subsequent visits. They have all loved it! This is the place my parents will think of when they want to go out for a special celebration meal. You always get 6 little dishes of food with each set. Although I say "little" they are actually very filling. Even my dad, who usually eats a lot says it's a good amount of food. Every dish is always amazing! I love the mushroom coconut soup. The protein dish is always amazing. The squash or eggplant (depending on which set you get) is always amazing too. They're very well seasoned but you can still taste freshness of the ingredients. I always grab a Thai Tea and this time I also got a Chrysanthemum tea for my mom. The chrysanthemum tea tastes a like a VitaSoy drink so it's pretty good. We will always come back for another special occasion.

Excellent Thai food in a trendy & hip modern ambience with warm hospitality, tasty options, generous portions and reasonable prices. There are menu sets with different dishes in each set to choose from. Meat & veggie options available. My dining companion and I each ordered a different set and shared our dishes. The big bowl of rice includes a trio of white, brown & black rice. The papaya salad, Tofu, eggplant and soups were tasty as were the chicken dish and other side dishes. I like how each set is elegantly served in small dishes & bowls on a tray. I will be back to try more dishes.

Hed VeryThai is a super popular restaurant located on a side street right in the middle of the financial district. Parking of course is difficult but not impossible. Another important thing is that one should make a reservation because of the small size of the restaurant. Service is good and professional. I was fortunate to get a table for 3 fairly quickly. The food mainly comes in complete meals with four entrees, a dessert and a rice plate. There are usually 4 options a beef, a chicken, a seafood and a vegetarian option. At this time there is also an additional four meals as part of their winter menu. Surprisingly the combinations taste very good and will fill up the average person. The prices were also reasonable for this time and age. One big problem is the restaurant is way too noisy and having a decent conversation is difficult.

Came here mid week for a dinner. I was pretty hungry and left STUFFED. The set menu is great- you get a bunch of different flavors and dishes to bounce around while eating and it's a lot of food. The ribeye green curry was exceptional. It was spicy, flavorful, and full of meat! The chicken soup was refreshing. And the shrimp salad was really well seasoned. Also the Brussels sprouts (one of my favorite veggies) were well cooked and burst with flavor. Heads up- the food has a kick with it so let them know if you're not great with spice.

Unfortunately I had pretty high expectations here, and it just seemed to miss the mark. Friday evenings are pretty packed, so recommend a reservation. The interior is so beautiful and well decorated, I could admire it forever. The space is very open and they've done a good job making it comforting but not too homey. We got the veg set and the chicken set, and added on the tofu satay and Thai tea. Somehow, the Thai tea was the star of the show. So creamy and not too sweet! The veg set was unfortunately just so much tofu. I wish there were more veggies or even just a curry with potatoes or something to change up the palate. The chicken set was just fine. Everything seemed to be missing just a touch of flavor. The soup is good and the dessert is good, but everything else is just okay and very similar to other restaurants in the city. The tofu satay is also just a lot of .... tofu and not much flavor. I do appreciate the concept of a set meal, so there feels like a lot of potential here!

Finally popped by to try their cute sets! They were still serving the winter menu (despite coming in May) but everything was tasty. The meal was fulsome and we appreciated that everything came altogether and we could pace our own meal.

Very solid spot for a lunch, although a bit on the pricier side. It is tucked into an unassuming alley, but the inside is surprisingly spacious. There may be street parking near, or you can park in the St Mary's Square Garage about 1.5 blocks away. There was only one other table around 11:30am on a Saturday. They had light music playing inside, which was pretty calming. There are also some appetizers you can get in addition to the lunch sets, but we didn't get those (satay, Brussels sprouts, etc). The sets do come with a lot of food, especially if you eat the whole thing. I opted for the pork belly set. The accompaniments were tasty and seasoned well - spicy eggplant (umami and soft) along with the Thai coconut mushroom soup (tangy and slightly creamy). The pork belly itself had a good flavor, but they were on the thinner side. It wasn't like a thick cut pork belly from a Taiwanese or Chinese restaurant, but the flavor was still there. The homemade pudding was a nice dessert - sweet and nutty with some crunchy texture from the sesame seeds and coconut flakes. Overall, everything is solid. I do think the price may deter me slightly from returning unless the portion of meat was more generous. There were a few fruit flies flying around our food while we were eating, which was annoying. Not sure if that's because of the restaurant's location in the alley. It did detract from the overall experience a bit.

Such a cute and yummy Thai spot! Portions look small but actually super filling! Book a resy in advance on OpenTable! You can do it the day of but it usually books out before dinner time. The Pork and Beef option was super delicious! We had a sweet white wine on the side that paired perfectly with the meal. Service was super quick and staff were very kind and accommodating. We were one of the last reservations and they did not rush us to finish our food.

Love supporting a women owned business and this place is really cute with their meal sets which range from $28-$39 with different protein varieties. I was torn between the beef or pork, but went with a large group so I was able to try both! I personally preferred the sweeter pork option. The beef was good, but a little harder to eat as it was in a small bowl with curry broth. Service is really quick and the staff is really nice! Would recommend stopping by to have lunch or dinner with friends!

I would say a 3.5 for food. We ordered the chicken set and found that the flavors were bland. Had to ask for hot sauce. Enjoyed my Thai ice tea though. Other than that service was attentive and friendly, and the price point for a set was amazing that included soup, salad, main, a carb and dessert. Space is also airy, modern and large.

I only knocked the restaurant down by a star because the servers were pretty pushy with wanting us to leave despite the multitude of empty tables around us. Besides that, the food is really delicious. The papaya salad is amazing if you like spice! There was a great kick and acidity to the papaya salad distributed throughout the fresh vegetables in the dish. I highly recommend! The pumpkin fries were also a great choice: crispy fry with soft pumpkin inside, maintaining the overall pumpkin flavor profile. The sauce they provide on the side (sweet and sour plum sauce), cut through the fry but didn't overwhelm the pumpkin itself. For myself, I got the yellow curry with chicken. The curry dishes do not come with rice, so you will have to order that on the side. The curry is not only a generous portion, but FULL of ingredients. They do not skimp on the meat, potatoes, etc. Highly recommend trying Farmhouse Kitchen for some flavorful Thai dishes!

At the entrance, one of the hosts, who I believe was named Victor, was extremely rude about our stroller. We were told that we could not bring the stroller inside, which we were willing to accept. However, instead of politely asking us to unlock it or move it ourselves, he physically blocked my wife while she was holding our baby and then forcefully tried to push the stroller himself. The stroller was locked at the time, and if I had not stepped in quickly to stop him and unlock it, it could have been damaged. His behavior was aggressive, careless, and completely inappropriate, especially toward a family with an infant. He then moved our stroller to a storage area in the back. Later, because the restaurant was extremely loud and our baby started crying, we wanted to get a toy from the stroller to comfort our child. At first, the same host refused and again physically blocked my wife. Only after we repeatedly asked were we finally allowed to retrieve the toy from our own stroller. After we sat down and were preparing to order, our baby was still crying because the noise level inside the restaurant was extremely high. A female server, who I believe was named Katie, made us feel extremely uncomfortable, unwelcome, and singled out. She first appeared to whisper with the host while looking at us, which made us feel judged and disrespected. Then, in front of us, she told my wife to take our crying baby outside. I questioned why we were being targeted when the restaurant itself was already very loud, with many guests speaking loudly around us. She claimed this was the restaurant's "policy," but when I asked to see the policy, she could not provide it. What made the situation even worse was the attitude. Instead of showing basic empathy or professionalism toward a family with a baby, some staff members were dismissive, arrogant, and treated us in a way that made us feel discriminated against, humiliated, and unwelcome as a family with a baby. I have never experienced this kind of service at a restaurant before, especially not at a restaurant with Michelin-level pricing and expectations. To be fair, the Asian server who later took our order was polite and professional. However, by that point, the overall experience had already been ruined. The food itself was only average in my opinion and did not feel worth the nearly $200 we spent for two people. It definitely did not meet the standard I would expect from a Michelin-recognized restaurant. I will not return, and I would strongly caution families with babies or young children to think twice before dining here. Some of the staff's attitude toward families was unacceptable, and our experience made us feel deeply disrespected. Ratings: Food: 2/5 Service: 1/5 Atmosphere: 1/5 Overall: 1/5

It was around 8 PM, and it wasn't busy at all, so we were able to get a table right away. The restaurant itself is mid-sized for the city, with enough seating to accommodate a few large parties as well as plenty of smaller groups. During our visit, we shared three dishes: the Thai coconut hot cakes from their specials menu (which they highly recommended), the beef salad for some protein, and the drunken noodles. The Thai coconut hot cakes were warm, gooey, and filled with coconut milk. I really enjoyed the contrast between the crispy bottoms of the cakes and the chunks of pumpkin and corn throughout. The beef salad and drunken noodles were both good, but I will say they didn't necessarily stand out compared to similar dishes I've had at other Thai restaurants. Overall, if you're looking for simple Thai dishes that aren't overly spicy, this would be a solid spot to check out.
