Set 02 - crispy pork belly
    Han W.

I really like the food here. I got the crispy pork and chicken set. The fragrant rice and pork belly were delicious. The coconut soup has hearty chunks of chicken. The papaya salad and brussel sprouts were just okay. I think it's pretty pricey at around $40 before tip. That said, I think it's still worth trying.

What a comforting food . Loved it For the first time i have tried this amazing thai thali. Being a vegetarian, it always hard to find the perfect thai options. This place has covered everything: taste with nutrition. Loved it They have amazing ambiance with fast service.

I went here Friday night for dinner with some friends. It wasn't too busy, so we were able to be seated immediately. The beef was tender and flavorful from the curry. Butternut squash and eggplant were soft and savory. Papaya salad gave brightness and crunch to the entire meal. They only had mango pudding, but it was lightly sweet with a bit of crunch. I love that they provide a set of various things. It felt like a well rounded meal. It was really filling and not too expensive at around $32 with tax. We were a group of 4 and we were able to split the bill with 2 cards. It's a pretty casual spot, but it was amazing for catching up with my friends. When it's packed, it could be a bit more difficult for conversations. There's a restroom which was pretty clean. Service was good.

The menu options are prefixed "sets" that you choose from so for example the chicken set comes with a (small) soup, salad, veggie you can't change. If you just want one entree you're out of luck. The chicken set I got was ok but nothing standout, the curry was meat heavy and there was a lot of rice but not much curry sauce. Also, the rice was a mix of three different kinds which was a bit odd. I left a bit hungry but tried to finish some of the mango dessert to fill up more. Also, the restaurant itself is very loud and hard to have any sort of conversation in

Came here on two different occasions. I like the pork a lot more than the beef. I'm personally not a fan of eggplant and squash in general. These were pretty good though. I tried a bit of the winter menu pork and honestly, it isn't worth the 2x price. The crispy pork tastes better, but I love the dessert of the normal set so much. It's really time really good pudding. It's a neat set experience but I think for Thai food, I prefer Khao Tiew. Staff is friendly, and restaurant dining area is nice.

I have been wanting to come here for a long time. You wouldn't find it too easily just walking buy its tucked away in a little ally corner. The space is so livley, and it was almost full on a Tuesday 7pm for dinner! There are so many options for the sets - many meat and tofu options. We did the regular tofu and the seasonal tofu sets. Wow so flavourful and creative! The sauces in the dishes are just so good - we loved the no noodle pad thai, the mix of rices, the coconut soup, the black rice dessert. Very quick service and kind staff. I will for sure be back! #vegetarian

This is a hidden gem. It is tucked in an alley so don't be surprised if you see trash bins here and there on your way here. Lighting gives a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Though Monica was the only server tending to all customers, she was calm and provided good service. They offer set dishes. Set 2 was delicious. It had caramelized pork belly, coconut mushroom soup, spicy sauteed eggplant, green papaya salad, mix of 3 different rice, and homemade pudding. Each dish is was individually great and bursting with flavor! Dining here was a lovely experience. Highly recommend!

Just had an amazing lunch at Hed verythai! I tried the chicken set meal and it was soo good! It came with sampler of dishes from chicken curry (10/10), sautéed butternut squash (10/10), Thai coconut mushroom soup (8/10), green papaya salad (9/10, spicy ), rice varieties, and mango pudding (8/10). My server, Natiene (sp?) was incredibly sweet and accommodating :) The ambience was bright and welcoming. I never knew such a beautiful restaurant could be in an alley.

I've been here 4-5 times by now. I first came with a friend and have brought my boyfriend and parents back here on subsequent visits. They have all loved it! This is the place my parents will think of when they want to go out for a special celebration meal. You always get 6 little dishes of food with each set. Although I say "little" they are actually very filling. Even my dad, who usually eats a lot says it's a good amount of food. Every dish is always amazing! I love the mushroom coconut soup. The protein dish is always amazing. The squash or eggplant (depending on which set you get) is always amazing too. They're very well seasoned but you can still taste freshness of the ingredients. I always grab a Thai Tea and this time I also got a Chrysanthemum tea for my mom. The chrysanthemum tea tastes a like a VitaSoy drink so it's pretty good. We will always come back for another special occasion.

Excellent Thai food in a trendy & hip modern ambience with warm hospitality, tasty options, generous portions and reasonable prices. There are menu sets with different dishes in each set to choose from. Meat & veggie options available. My dining companion and I each ordered a different set and shared our dishes. The big bowl of rice includes a trio of white, brown & black rice. The papaya salad, Tofu, eggplant and soups were tasty as were the chicken dish and other side dishes. I like how each set is elegantly served in small dishes & bowls on a tray. I will be back to try more dishes.

We had a nice dinner here with friends. I got the Crispy Pork and Chicken Soup set -- the pork was fantastic. It also came with some tasty Brussels sprouts, green papaya salad, 3 kinds of rice, and a sticky rice dessert. Overall, an excellent combo. However, my wife was less satisfied with her Veggie set, noting that the mains tasted far too sweet. Service was warm and friendly, and the vibe of the place is modern and casual. Parking is easy, since it's right next to the Sutter/Stockton Garage.

Came here mid week for a dinner. I was pretty hungry and left STUFFED. The set menu is great- you get a bunch of different flavors and dishes to bounce around while eating and it's a lot of food. The ribeye green curry was exceptional. It was spicy, flavorful, and full of meat! The chicken soup was refreshing. And the shrimp salad was really well seasoned. Also the Brussels sprouts (one of my favorite veggies) were well cooked and burst with flavor. Heads up- the food has a kick with it so let them know if you're not great with spice.

Unfortunately I had pretty high expectations here, and it just seemed to miss the mark. Friday evenings are pretty packed, so recommend a reservation. The interior is so beautiful and well decorated, I could admire it forever. The space is very open and they've done a good job making it comforting but not too homey. We got the veg set and the chicken set, and added on the tofu satay and Thai tea. Somehow, the Thai tea was the star of the show. So creamy and not too sweet! The veg set was unfortunately just so much tofu. I wish there were more veggies or even just a curry with potatoes or something to change up the palate. The chicken set was just fine. Everything seemed to be missing just a touch of flavor. The soup is good and the dessert is good, but everything else is just okay and very similar to other restaurants in the city. The tofu satay is also just a lot of .... tofu and not much flavor. I do appreciate the concept of a set meal, so there feels like a lot of potential here!

They text you when your table is ready and got have about 5 minutes to get there. Right away I knew I wanted the Khao soi which I got with tofu. This was beyond delicious, but I wish they have more broth. I've had Khao soi before but it was a bit more broth which made the noodles less dry. Also I wish the tofu was cut into smaller cubes, the tofu wasn't very crispy which made it pretty bland and one dimensional. Other than that it was very good. The Thai tea was also good, not too sweet which was perfect. The duck breast curry had a similar taste to the Khao soi but the duck was one of the beast we had. Super moist and flavorful in the broth, definitely one of the best dishes of the night. Also the beef fried rice (Khao pad mun neur) was cooked well, my favorite was the flavor of the fried rice. Had a smoky wok flavor to it which made it addicting. The ambience was very nice my favorite was their music playlist. Was nostalgic and gave good vibes in the restaurant. Definitely a great experience and worth a try when in the city. I would come again for the duck curry and maybe the Khao soi with a different protein or ask the tofu to be extra crispy.

It was very good. For the first time, we ordered their Chinese broccoli which was sliced into smaller pieces and surprisingly very good. Fresh rolls - crisp and springy with lots of greens and tofu and a good peanut sauce to dip. Crispy pork belly sweet basil - the CRISP and flavor of this pork belly was to die for. Chicken larb - this was my favorite dish of the night. Heavy basil/herbs, just a little kick from the chilies, full on flavor explosion. I will be thinking of this dish for a long time haha. Beef Pad See Ew - chewy in the most delicious and favor packed way. Love pad see ew and this one was great! Pad cha scallop - Came out sizzling on a cast iron! This dish was fun and the scallops while small, were fresh and had lots of flavor. And finally, for dessert we ordered the black rice durian. During our visit, we shared three dishes: the Thai coconut hot cakes from their specials menu (which they highly recommended), the beef salad for some protein, and the drunken noodles. The Thai coconut hot cakes were warm, gooey, and filled with coconut milk. I really enjoyed the contrast between the crispy bottoms of the cakes and the chunks of pumpkin and corn throughout. The beef salad and drunken noodles were both good, but I will say they didn't necessarily stand out compared to similar dishes I've had at other Thai restaurants.
