Amazing pizza!! Such a clean and nice place with great food. The outdoor areas are all dog friendly. We got a pizza with caramelized onions, bacon, and hickory drizzle. The crust was perfect. Really loved the pizzas.....we had a hard time choosing from several other options that sounded just as good. We will be back to try more of the topping options next time we pass through. Food was good but the ambiance was a little strange. Server and cashier were disconnected. They had a mistake on their printed menu pricing and they did not owned the mistake. We end up paying for it. As part of management or ownership you own your mistakes. The selection of alcohol was very limited but we found one that was worth it. This is a great establishment. The drinks are delicious - always new beer and other options and often fun and experimental drinks offered. The pizza is fantastic, with really creative options and they change it up often, keeping the menu fresh. Fun atmosphere too, live music sometimes as well. Wonderful experience with Heliotrope takeout! Excellent food and service. We're staying at a hotel while we check out the town (I got into the law school here) and decided to order pizza and beer for dinner. I asked for disposable silverware and the person who gave me my order was thoughtful enough to tell me that their pizzas aren't precut and asked if I wanted the kitchen to cut it for me. Also, they were the only business in Lexington that I saw displaying a pride flag in their window. As a queer person, I was ecstatic to know I had, if accidentally, supported an inclusive restaurant that was un afraid to show its support. So thank you Heliotrope! read more

The Beers and ciders are excellent and the staff friendly. Just a really pleasant room to sit in and savor.

Drinks were pretty good. We had the mandarin-yuzu cider, a few different beers, and their housemade nonalcoholic seltzer water. Would get the cider and seltzer again--light and refreshing. Food was a mixed bag. Hummus plate and flatbread was delicious, but the pizzas weren't great. We ordered the heirloom pizzas, one with prosciutto and one without. The one with prosciutto was too salty, but the one without didn't have enough (also was oddly wet? It was dribbling liquid everywhere and the crust was kinda squishy). Service was decent. A quiet town houses a power house in military education but also a power house brewery. With tons of outside tables available in the alley way and backyard, skip going to Devils Backbone and come here. Deep complex dark beers, bright and delicious lagers and a sprinkle of ciders for good measure this is some of the most solid, nay, delicious micro brewers in the area. Every beer I tried was mature and well crafted. We also ordered the daal which comes with fire roasted pita coated in olive oil and seasonings.....delicious....nay, out of this world! I saw the tables beside is cutting up their pizza with scissors (I love that) and they told me the pizza was great (which I can certainly believe given the quality of everything else). They are able to can any of their beers to-go, so drink responsibly then take some home to keep the party going. The service was also good.....NAY, great, friendly, and efficient. They are taking cleanliness and safety serious. Really, what a find, nay, what a treat. I will certainly be back!! read more

A wonderful place! We ate in there earlier in the year ( before Covid lockdown) and went back for takeaway. We don't drink but the pizza was something else. I had Bianca, family had Margarita - all outstanding and delicious: the gourmet version of the staple, but not too weird if you know what mean. Canellini bean spread was inventive alternative to humus too. Service excellent as well - I told them we were driving to collect and they texted me to say ready for pickup. Never had that before. The food was terrible. The Margarita Pizza had very little mozzarella cheese on it and even less basil. The Caesar salad was dry and very little croutons and cheese. The girl delivering our food basically threw it on the table and darted off. My husband said the beer was ok. We sat outside and the heaters were not working. The girls response was, "They're old." Was looking for a place to stop for dinner during a roadtrip and happened upon Heliotrope Brewery thanks to the "Find Me Gluten Free" app. I split the Margherita pizza on cauliflower crust with my 11 y.o. and it was possibly the best gluten free crust I've ever had (not for those with Celiac disease due to possible cross contamination). My husband enjoyed his "Carnivore" on sourdough crust. The restaurant also had a really nice vibe and the staff went above and beyond when we realized we left something behind. Ok drinks have a nice variety. But their service team could be better, we were told our food was going to take an hour to come out and we were okay with that, it's the fact that they gave our order to the wrong table after over an hour and tried to hide the fact that it was ours that they gave away was really off putting.
