A small but nicely decorated cafe located in Universal Studios Hollywood. This Super Mario-themed cafe offers Super Mushroom Calzones and Fire Flower Pretzels, with many praising the theming and aesthetically pleasing food items. They also highlight the fast service and fun experience of enjoying Mario-themed food and drinks. We visited this place on July 18, 2025, during our Universal Studios Hollywood trip. Inside of this place has no seating arrangements. We ordered 1-Up Mushroom Calzone (Mushroom-shaped Calzone filled with Spinach, Green Pepper, Mushroom, Mozzarella Cheese, and Basil Pesto). Their service was super fast and we got the food right away. However, the Calzone was average and nothing special to say about it. Like other theme park restaurants, the price was on the higher end ($13.99) and not worth it considering the taste.

Power Up Cafe! Where you go to Power Up!!! This cafe is adorable. It's got the Nintendo World theme of Super Mario Brothers. Inside you will find stars, question mark boxes and mushrooms! I ordered the veggie mushroom calzone. It was the green one. It was pretty decent. I wish it had more cheese though. The flavor wasn't bad. I did eat the whole thing. I was hungry. Service was quick! I walked up to order and bam! It came right out. Hot and ready!

We love this place!! My kids really enjoy the snacks here. I have tried all their drinks and the Fire Flower Fizz is my favorite. The Fire Flower pretzel yumm yumm and they serve it with three different dips. My son enjoys his Super Mushroom Calzone and his favorite drink is the 1-up Mushroom Fizz All staff is friendly and provide the best service.

If you're looking for a Nintendo-themed snack or drink, the Power Up Cafe is where you can grab quick eats like popcorn, calzones, soft pretzels and their fizz drinks (sodas). Their bestseller appeared to be the drinks which are basically lemon-lime sodas with fruity boba and a dissolvable flavor enhancer tablet ("power-up"). We tried both the Super Mushroom Fizz (Strawberry) and the Fire Flower Fizz (Mango Habanero). In the 90-degree heat, these are refreshing and the power-up adds an element of fun, but the price of $13 for what is essentially just a soda is extremely steep. We also tried their calzones on one occasion for a substantial snack. I ordered the SUPER MUSHROOM CALZONE ($13) which didn't actually contain any mushrooms whatsoever. Normally, the exterior of a classic calzone is golden pizza dough, but this one was very bready, reminding me of a steamed bao. The interior was filled with a mix of sausage, pepperoni bits and red sauce. Mozzarella cheese made up the white circles of the mushroom design. Flavor-wise, it tasted more like sausage than anything, and I sadly found it a little on the dry side. A couple people in my group got the 1-UP MUSHROOM CALZONE ($13) which had spinach, green pepper, mushroom and pesto inside. This was a good veggie option as it contained a generous amount of spinach. Over two days, we visited twice and the cafe was never super busy. Orders are prepared quickly, so it's a good place to go if you're looking for something fast. While I admit the prices are very high for what you receive, it was worth the one-time spend for the novelty and nostalgia. 3.75 stars.

Such a cute food stop with super Mario themed items! We decided to try their mushroom calzone and it was a bit disappointing. Not that you can expect good foods at an amusement park but it tasted like having hot pockets with much more breading on it.. I guess you just go for the cutest of if

the mushroom calzone is the only thing worth ordering here imo the breading was a lot less thick this time around and filling was way better!

Quick service. I was able to get a mushroom calzone and small popcorn. There are 2 flavors for the mushroom calzone - a pepperoni option and spinach option. It's a small cafe with high tables outside but perfect for grabbing food on the go and heading to your next destination. Not located in Nintendo World. located on upper lot across from Starbucks.

Stopped by on Sunday, 04/20/25 for a quick snack! Boyfriend and I ordered 1 Fire Flower Pretzel which was $10. We received a 10% discount since we have the CA neighbor season pass. This tasted more of a bread-y texture and not so much as a pretzel flavor you would get from Wetzel's Pretzels and Auntie Annies. We received some sauces to dip which really helped with the bland-ness of our 'pretzel'.

Came in right as soon as we arrived.... Yay no lines and only a few people waiting. Our food and drinks make out really fast. No seating area inside but some out side (standing) Can't wait to come back next time.

Power Up Cafe is located on the Upper Lot of Universal Studios, Hollywood. It's right across from the Universal Tower Snack Bar. Cute little Cafe where you can Mobile Order ahead & pick up inside or wait in line & order inside. There aren't any tables or chairs in the Cafe. There were only a couple of tables out near the front. Where we were at, there weren't any chairs either. It was standing only. We didn't order any food. Just ordered drinks. The Drinks were super cute, especially w/ the Cute Power Ups. I had the Fire Flower Fizz which came w/ a Mango Habanero Fire Flower Power Up. Looked cute, but I prolly wouldn't order that one again. If I did, I'd do without the Power Up. The drink tasted okay, it basically tastes like a Sprite. Except it's a $13 Sprite with orange popping pearls lols. It honestly tasted better without putting in the Fire Flower Power Up... Also, I didn't care for all the glitter in my drink either... It was a struggle to sip the popping boba pearls! Through a paper straw!! Although there's mixed reviews about the food here. I would, maybe, come back on a future visit, to try out those cute calzones & see for myself.

Ordered a mushroom calzone. It was hot and tasty. It is overpriced but it is very cute. My kids love it.

With the anticipation of Nintendo land opening up, I was equally excited to try the food options that the other themed restaurants had to offer. I'm a big fan when to comes to calzone and anything related to pesto. Right at restaurant opening, there was already a line right outside but it moved rather quickly. The menu was straight forward. The few snacks listed on the menu, the speciality drinks and the souvenir sipper. $13 isn't a big surprise when it comes to theme park food pricing. We had ordered the 1-up mushroom calzone, which includes spinach, green pepper, mushroom, mozzarella and basil pesto. I was excited for it to be moist, flavorful and a potential cheese pull. One thing that was great about it was that the calzone was piping hot when we received. Too hot even even hold for a pic for a few seconds. Unfortunately, the calzone was dry, not flavorful and did not have a cheese pull. It felt like the the ingredients were just stacked together and heated up. Probably wouldn't get this again.

Was pleasantly welcomed by multiple employees upon entering. I opted for the 1-up Mushroom Calzone (Mushroom shaped calzone filled with spinach, green pepper, mushroom, mozzarella cheese and basil pesto) and the Super Mushroom Fizz (Lemon lime soda with strawberry popping pearls and a strawberry Super Mushroom Power Up sugar cube) Both items were a whopping $13. After ordering, my order was ready for pick up almost immediately. The calzone was served warm, it was cheesy, savory, and delicious. It will definitely give you a "1-up" and fill you up. The Mushroom Fizz was good but not $13 good. It was basically a cup of sprite with fruity popping boba, but it was super cute! Haha if you're looking to dine here, you can't...there are only a few table tops outside BUT plenty of seating surrounding the cafe. Don't forget to use your discount IF you are a Pass holder. :)

They have pasta, desserts, sandwiches, burgers....We tried the Mario Burger, the Luigi Chicken Sandwich, garlic knots, & fries. Unlike a lot of theme park food, everything was super flavorful, well-seasoned, and great quality for fast-casual dining~~ Plus, at around $20 per item, it's an absolute bargain compared to most places nowadays. The restaurant is clean, the service is helpful, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Highly recommend~~~

You are 100 PERCENT going here for the aesthetics, decor, and the dining experience. Unfortunately,…read morelike most of the other food that I've tried at Universal, the quality is pretty mid and standard all the way through. Definitely make a reservation to ensure that you can speedily go in and order, grab, a seat and get your food ready ASAP so that you can enjoy the rest of your time at the theme park. You can do this through the Universal Studios app and it's pretty straightforward. There's a grace period, as with most reservations, and unlike Disney, they don't charge your card if you're a no show (at least I don't think they do). My group went during Fan Fest nights and the reservation made a faster check in than what I think usually goes on (there was a line and the restaurant was packed, but we were able to get a seat and our food in decent timing). I let the staff know that I had a reservation, was promptly instructed to go to the cashier to order, worker was super patient and friendly, got in our order, was given a buzzer, then checked in with the front of house staff to be seated at a table, food came out first and then one of our drinks that took a bit longer. Pretty seamless and they're great at accommodating their guests and making sure things run smoothly. Hands down, breathtaking experience and amazing attention to decor the entire visit. There's Chef Toad cooking in the queue, the back drop area of the cashiers was cool, and the dining room area is incredibly impressive. Each wall has panel screens showing what's going on in Mushroom Kingdom from the Toads having fun and hanging out and when the big bad swoops in and causes havoc (which I think is synced to the other screens throughout since they don't show the same scene for each one). For our visit, we got the: 1) Super Star Lemon Squash: -This is a standard honey lemon soda with mango stars and tropical boba. 2) Yoshi's Blueberry Ube Smoothie: -This is a Fan Fest limited menu item and not really a flavor I'd go for but I figure I would since it's the most unique (though thinking of it, I really should have done apple melon, but somehow it didn't click). -Very cute, comes with whipped cream on top and some flavored drizzle, a sprig of mint and it's in a Yoshi cup. -Extremely BIZARRE taste. Not sure why but it tasted like coconut (probably the ube) banana with specifically grape Nerds. Maybe it's just my taste buds. It wasn't bad, and someone at our table said it was good (another said it was gross because it was too sweet), but it's not something I would like normally so I was powering through it. 4) Super Mushroom Soup -Comes with the classic toadstool red mushroom plastic bowl and lid. They even give you a power up block to store it in and the characters you meet also use it as a point of interaction. Very cute. -I like that the soup came in it's own little aluminum container so it doesn't sauce up and stain the bowl. Very nice! -Soup has some mushroom crackers on top, resembling the red toadstool mushroom. Very cute. Decent creamy mushroom soup. Not the biggest serving but hits the spot on a chilly night. 5) Bowser's Fireball Challenge: -Heard good things about this from someone who went to the Orlando park. You can also pay an extra $10 to keep the souvenir bowl. Since it was sauced up, we asked staff and we got a completely new one in a box and in a Super Nintendo World bag. Quality customer service and glad we didn't have to wash it out. -It's a huge meatball with mozzarella cheese and mushroom marinara sauce. Bowser puff pastry on top, brings together the look and adds a bit of carbs. Definitely mix in the hot sauce and marinara together. -Simple dish, but easy to eat and the sauce went great with the fries from the Mario burger another friend ordered. And since my boyfriend was dying from the long day and the longer night ahead, he got himself a hot coffee. Standard hot black coffee but it came in a cute cup. Not the finest dining out there, but the experience alone is worth it. This is what themed dining should be like. As a consistent Disney goer, I feel like Disney tries, but it still always feels like I'm still in a theme park (even in Galaxy's Edge), so it's either the IP or the actual attention to detail and stage set that truly blew me away here. I'd come back for sure.

This burger made a beautiful photo, but the meat patties are unfortunately overcooked. The THICK, big burger is dry; however, the cheese and sauce helped. Still, the experience is very charming! (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring Card. Also, the location has about eight interior tables, so there's a real possibility that you might not even find inside dine-in seating due to the crazy popularity. I arrived near opening time, and the line to the counter took about 45 minutes. The line didn't even shrink when I'd left.) I arrived at the One Piece Cafe (Los Angeles) on Sunday (around 11:08AM). There was a very long line upon arrival. They had a security guard to monitor everyone, so I felt safe. Parking is difficult since it's Los Angeles. Street Parking was very hard to find, so I parked at the nearby Parking Structure (Sho Tokyo Garage - $15 Flat Rate on Sat or Sun). It's a short two minute walk to the One Piece Cafe (Los Angeles). Staff is professional and polite. Staff worked hard despite the HUGE line of customers. It took about 45 minutes to reach the counter. And my food was completed within 14 minutes. I was lucky enough to find an open table inside. As mentioned, I ordered the Franky Double Burger & Fries ($24.50). This burger is definitely a fun spectacle, but it was also a fairly dry & overcooked burger. It was presented lovingly on a bed of crisp, well-seasoned fries. At the very least, it's HUGE!! I had plenty of leftovers. However, if I ever revisit, I'd focus on the fresh popcorn chicken or refreshing drinks. I had brought my fanatical One Piece buddy on this trip, and my friend's food tasted way better than mine. On ambiance, the One Piece Cafe (Los Angeles) is absolutely lovely if you're able to find an available table. The "windows" show the animated ocean's waves as if you're inside the One Piece boat. There's also screens showing the top pirates in a fun animated way. The location is very clean, and it felt whimsical like a themed cafe inside Disneyland or Universal Studios. The One Piece Music also plays as you wait outside in line and sit inside as you dine. If lucky enough, the experience is very special. Overall, I had a happy, cheerful experience at the One Piece Cafe (Los Angeles). There's many families, young ones, and anime enthusiasts happily adoring their One Piece Themed dining experience. If you're able to arrive early, I happily recommend. 4.5 out of 5

It's definitely a tourist trap, but if you're a Friends fiend, this is the place for you. There's plenty of photo-ops - Joey and Chandler's apartment with the foosball table and BarcaLoungers, the Central Perk bar and couches, and Monica's kitchen. There's also a gift shop which had surprisingly reasonably priced items. The cafe itself has grab-and-go items as well as hot food items like pizza for sale. They have drinks named after the characters, but everything is pricey (tourist trap alert). I'm not a coffee drinker, but I had to partake in the "Central Perk" rite of passage, so I ordered the chocolate ice-blend drink (~$8 after tax), which is a pretty steep price for a drink that's essentially chocolate milk. For some reason, my order got lost in their system, so I was waiting and waiting for my name to be called. After approaching the counter and asking, they made it right away. They don't serve the drinks in the signature large coffee cups (but the cups are available at the gift shop), so I'd say you can skip the overpriced coffee and go straight for the photo ops (which are free/included in the price of admission).

It's a genuinely…read morefun, unique spot that brings a great slice of Akihabara cafe culture right to the area. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, and everyone working there was so nice. We were served by a wonderful Caucasian maid, and we also noticed a cute Korean maid taking care of some other tables--the whole staff was super friendly and really added to the charming, positive vibe of the cafe. One thing that really stood out to me was their retail section. They have a surprisingly solid selection of Japanese trading card games like Weiss Schwarz, Hololive, and Pokémon, alongside some manga. It's an awesome touch if you're a fan of the hobby or just want something interesting to browse while waiting for your order. As for the food, I had to try the classic maid cafe staple: the omurice. I ordered the curry omurice, complete with the signature cute ketchup art drawn right on the egg. It was hearty, flavorful, and definitely hit the spot. We also tried a couple of their specialty iced espresso drinks, including the tiramisu latte. They were topped generously with whipped cream and tasty crumbles. The drinks are definitely on the richer, sweeter side, making them feel like a dessert in themselves. If you're into Japanese gaming and anime culture, or just looking for a cafe experience that's a bit out of the ordinary with fantastic service and indulgent drinks, this place is absolutely worth a visit.
