They ran out of the Super mushroom calzone item so we picked up a Fire Flower Pretzel and a Super Mushroom fizz drink. The pretzel was really good and came with 3 dips, mustard, nacho and a white cheese dip. I was so hungry and forgot to take a photo but it was well worth it. The white cheese dip was my fav. The pretzel was in a cool fire flower shape and easy to pull apart for dipping. The drink was like a cherry 7up with boba. Refreshing and sweet.

A nice quick service spot on the upper lot of Universal studios Hollywood! Overall, I can't complain. There's a small menu offering a handful of snacks & specialty beverages. My best friend and I sampled the 1-Up Mushroom Calzone, it was too cute! It was also tasty, filled with cheese, mushrooms, bell pepper and spinach, an amazing vegetarian option. We also tried out the Galaxy Popcorn which was flavored like different types of fruits, it nice to take pics of & definitely fun, but a bit on the sweeter side so we didn't end up finishing it. It was a great pit stop to get some snacks! I'd recommend.

A small but nicely decorated cafe located in Universal Studios Hollywood. This Super Mario-themed cafe offers Super Mushroom Calzones and Fire Flower Pretzels, with many praising the theming and aesthetically pleasing food items. They also highlight the fast service and fun experience of enjoying Mario-themed food and drinks. We visited this place on July 18, 2025, during our Universal Studios Hollywood trip. Inside of this place has no seating arrangements. We ordered 1-Up Mushroom Calzone (Mushroom-shaped Calzone filled with Spinach, Green Pepper, Mushroom, Mozzarella Cheese, and Basil Pesto). Their service was super fast and we got the food right away. However, the Calzone was average and nothing special to say about it. Like other theme park restaurants, the price was on the higher end ($13.99) and not worth it considering the taste.

Power Up Cafe! Where you go to Power Up!!! This cafe is adorable. It's got the Nintendo World theme of Super Mario Brothers. Inside you will find stars, question mark boxes and mushrooms! I ordered the veggie mushroom calzone. It was the green one. It was pretty decent. I wish it had more cheese though. The flavor wasn't bad. I did eat the whole thing. I was hungry. Service was quick! I walked up to order and bam! It came right out. Hot and ready!

Went here on Monday and Saturday and had an ok experience. The first time I came (Monday), I go the Super Star Fizz and it was good but it was just overpriced Sprite with an eatable bath bomb so just buy a regular Sprite and save your money because it was $13. Then the next time I came, I got the 1-Up Calzone and it mediocre. The service was pretty good and the inside was clean. Overall, okay experience and would not really recommend to much people.

We love this place!! My kids really enjoy the snacks here. I have tried all their drinks and the Fire Flower Fizz is my favorite. The Fire Flower pretzel yumm yumm and they serve it with three different dips. My son enjoys his Super Mushroom Calzone and his favorite drink is the 1-up Mushroom Fizz All staff is friendly and provide the best service.

If you're looking for a Nintendo-themed snack or drink, the Power Up Cafe is where you can grab quick eats like popcorn, calzones, soft pretzels and their fizz drinks (sodas). Their bestseller appeared to be the drinks which are basically lemon-lime sodas with fruity boba and a dissolvable flavor enhancer tablet ("power-up"). We tried both the Super Mushroom Fizz (Strawberry) and the Fire Flower Fizz (Mango Habanero). In the 90-degree heat, these are refreshing and the power-up adds an element of fun, but the price of $13 for what is essentially just a soda is extremely steep. We also tried their calzones on one occasion for a substantial snack. I ordered the SUPER MUSHROOM CALZONE ($13) which didn't actually contain any mushrooms whatsoever. Normally, the exterior of a classic calzone is golden pizza dough, but this one was very bready, reminding me of a steamed bao. The interior was filled with a mix of sausage, pepperoni bits and red sauce. Mozzarella cheese made up the white circles of the mushroom design. Flavor-wise, it tasted more like sausage than anything, and I sadly found it a little on the dry side. A couple people in my group got the 1-UP MUSHROOM CALZONE ($13) which had spinach, green pepper, mushroom and pesto inside. This was a good veggie option as it contained a generous amount of spinach. Over two days, we visited twice and the cafe was never super busy. Orders are prepared quickly, so it's a good place to go if you're looking for something fast. While I admit the prices are very high for what you receive, it was worth the one-time spend for the novelty and nostalgia. 3.75 stars.

Such a cute food stop with super Mario themed items! We decided to try their mushroom calzone and it was a bit disappointing. Not that you can expect good foods at an amusement park but it tasted like having hot pockets with much more breading on it.. I guess you just go for the cutest of if

the mushroom calzone is the only thing worth ordering here imo the breading was a lot less thick this time around and filling was way better!

Quick service. I was able to get a mushroom calzone and small popcorn. There are 2 flavors for the mushroom calzone - a pepperoni option and spinach option. It's a small cafe with high tables outside but perfect for grabbing food on the go and heading to your next destination. Not located in Nintendo World. located on upper lot across from Starbucks.

Stopped by on Sunday, 04/20/25 for a quick snack! Boyfriend and I ordered 1 Fire Flower Pretzel which was $10. We received a 10% discount since we have the CA neighbor season pass. This tasted more of a bread-y texture and not so much as a pretzel flavor you would get from Wetzel's Pretzels and Auntie Annies. We received some sauces to dip which really helped with the bland-ness of our 'pretzel'.

Came in right as soon as we arrived.... Yay no lines and only a few people waiting. Our food and drinks make out really fast. No seating area inside but some out side (standing) Can't wait to come back next time.

Power Up Cafe is located on the Upper Lot of Universal Studios, Hollywood. It's right across from the Universal Tower Snack Bar. Cute little Cafe where you can Mobile Order ahead & pick up inside or wait in line & order inside. There aren't any tables or chairs in the Cafe. There were only a couple of tables out near the front. Where we were at, there weren't any chairs either. It was standing only. We didn't order any food. Just ordered drinks. The Drinks were super cute, especially w/ the Cute Power Ups. I had the Fire Flower Fizz which came w/ a Mango Habanero Fire Flower Power Up. Looked cute, but I prolly wouldn't order that one again. If I did, I'd do without the Power Up. The drink tasted okay, it basically tastes like a Sprite. Except it's a $13 Sprite with orange popping pearls lols. It honestly tasted better without putting in the Fire Flower Power Up... Also, I didn't care for all the glitter in my drink either... It was a struggle to sip the popping boba pearls! Through a paper straw!! Although there's mixed reviews about the food here. I would, maybe, come back on a future visit, to try out those cute calzones & see for myself.

So make sure you get on the Universal app as soon as you know you're coming. I got there around 7:45ish and was able to score a same day reservation for me and my friend for 2 PM. Once you go inside, you wait in line to order, but they have menus available so you can look everything over and decide what you want while you wait. After fawning over a few choices, we asked the man ringing us up what he thought the best items were. He recommended the Fire Flower Spaghetti & Meatballs, Luigi Burger, and ? Block Tiramisu. So we each got one of the recommended entrées, split the dessert, and added some Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots because we were in a silly goofy mood. After ordering, they give you a table number and you find a seat in the large dining area. We didn't wait long for our food at all, maybe 10 to 15 minutes max. I really enjoyed my food, and my friend said he enjoyed his Luigi Burger as well. Was it the pinnacle of culinary perfection? No. But it was still pretty good for amusement park food and definitely better than a lot of food I've had at other amusement parks over the years. The theming and presentation also make the experience that much more fun. The ? Block Tiramisu was the star of the entire meal for me. The sugar cookie panels that make up the Question Block were SO good with the tiramisu inside. I would absolutely get that again. All in all, I definitely say add Toadstool Cafe to your Super Nintendo World itinerary if you can score a reservation. The food was good, the presentation was adorable, and it's one of those experiences that really adds to being inside the world of Mario.

I really wanted to like Toadstool Cafe, but the experience was honestly pretty frustrating,…read moreespecially considering the price and the fact that this is at Universal Studios. The cafe is reservation-only, and you have to sign up ahead of time. There's also a maximum of six people per reservation, but our party had seven. That meant we had to have two different people make reservations--one for three and another for four--which was already an unnecessary hassle. Once our reservation time came, we were let inside, only to wait 20 minutes in line just to order. So what exactly is the point of having reservations if they're still allowing the restaurant to get so backed up? It felt like they were over capacity anyway. The food itself is probably some of the best food you can get inside the theme park, and the prices are about what you'd expect from a theme park. We were also seated pretty quickly, which was nice. Unfortunately, that's where the good service ended. They forgot two of our orders, and we ended up waiting around 40 minutes while the other five people in our party had already finished eating. We eventually had to flag down a server to ask about our food, and somehow, it was brought out within a minute. So the food was clearly ready or easily accessible--they had just completely forgotten about our order. That 40-minute wait was such a waste of our time. We were at Universal Studios and could have been using that time to enjoy the park or go on other rides instead of just sitting there waiting for food. On top of that, the servers/waiters didn't have the friendliest attitudes, which made the experience even more disappointing. I'd say go once for the experience, especially if you want the cute Super Mario atmosphere and pictures, but don't go in expecting great service. For the price you're paying, I honestly expected a lot more from Universal. If takeout were an option, I would probably choose that instead.

The first time was back in May with a friend during a special event that had a costumed character and a pretty long line outside. I also came back recently to try their limited-time Captain Buggy dessert and stopped by about an hour before closing. The atmosphere is easily one of the biggest reasons to come here. The entire inside is decorated to look like the interior of a pirate ship, and the walls are covered with the characters' wanted posters. If you're a One Piece fan, there's a lot to look at and it definitely makes the experience more fun. Service was great both times. During the first visit, there was a long line because of the event, but the staff were still really friendly and helpful despite the crowd. The second time I came in right before closing, and the staff were still welcoming and didn't make us feel rushed. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the food and drinks. The first visit we ordered the matcha horchata, onigiri, katsu sandwich, and fried rice. Everything was better than I expected, especially considering this is more of a themed cafe experience. On my second visit, I got Captain Buggy's Carnival Crunch dessert, which actually tasted better than I was expecting! You'd think the fried PB&J uncrustable covered in fruity pebbles and topped with vanilla ice cream and sprinkles would be overwhelming, but surprisingly the flavors and textures went really well together! I'd honestly get it again. Overall, I really enjoyed both visits. The prices are pretty standard for an LA restaurant, so I didn't have any complaints there. Obviously, the biggest appeal is being a One Piece fan, but even beyond the theme, the food was solid and the staff were great. Definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of the series, especially when they have special events or limited-time menu items. I'll probably be coming back here next time I'm in the area just to embrace my inner otaku.

It's definitely a tourist trap, but if you're a Friends fiend, this is the place for you. There's plenty of photo-ops - Joey and Chandler's apartment with the foosball table and BarcaLoungers, the Central Perk bar and couches, and Monica's kitchen. There's also a gift shop which had surprisingly reasonably priced items. The cafe itself has grab-and-go items as well as hot food items like pizza for sale. They have drinks named after the characters, but everything is pricey (tourist trap alert). I'm not a coffee drinker, but I had to partake in the "Central Perk" rite of passage, so I ordered the chocolate ice-blend drink (~$8 after tax), which is a pretty steep price for a drink that's essentially chocolate milk. For some reason, my order got lost in their system, so I was waiting and waiting for my name to be called. After approaching the counter and asking, they made it right away. They don't serve the drinks in the signature large coffee cups (but the cups are available at the gift shop), so I'd say you can skip the overpriced coffee and go straight for the photo ops (which are free/included in the price of admission).
