I did not initially buy my wedding ring here but I took it to get fixed because it broke and also needed deep cleaning. I picked it up on time but I asked them to double check if it was cleaned correctly because it looked like it still had paint on it. The part where it broke looked fix but just after 3 months it broke off again in the same place. I have shopped here from time to time. Really just little things like a necklace or occasionally pick up one of their cheaper rings with a coupon. So I can buy and wear cheaper or sterling silver jewelry with no problem. This set of diamond earrings were a few hundred dollars and a Christmas present to myself. It's been months that they have been turning my ears GREEN. I called the company and they said it's normal! That some people react different and there's nothing they can do because it is past their return policy. I have not even had these earrings for one year. It's not entirely sterling silver, it has to be sterling silver plated or mixed or something. Like I said I can wear cheap earrings. Never ever have I had earrings turn green. A chain store where employees remember you is always refreshing. The staff here is always friendly and remember us when we visit the store. My fiance bought my engagement ring and eight months later they remembered him when we went in to buy our wedding bands. When my fiance's ring came in and did not fit, we got a replacement that day that was in our possession until a new ring came in. As an additional bonus, the store will clean rings for free, even if you did not purchase the ring at Helzberg. We will definitely be using them in the future. read more

I stopped at the memorial city mall location on Tuesday morning. The store did not open on time due to the fact that all of the ladies were standing around talking to each other. When I finally asked "Hey it's 11:18am what time do you guys open?" One of the ladies then said right now. Once the store opened I encountered several employees that was not in the mood to work. I received very poor service and no one wanted to look up my account to get my wife's ring serviced because I didn't have my inspection card. Being the only person in the store at the time I ask the ladies to call the willowbrook location because I just had my wife's ring inspected there in February. I received nothing but excuses on why it was too difficult for any of them to call and verify this information. Instead of debating with employees that refused to do their job, I left the memorial city mall location and went to the Willowbrook mall location. Upon arrival at the Willowbrook location it was a completely different experience. The best way to describe the two stores are Heaven (Willowbrook) and Hell (Memorial City). The Willowbrook staff is amazing. Everyone was very professional, they took the time to listen to me. Therefore my problem was solved. I will advise anyone considering Helzberg please visit the Willowbrook mall location to see the professionals. More customers service training is needed at the Memorial City mall location. read more

I have to agree that for the most part they are friendly. My issue is there seems to be some corporate constraints that the store passes onto the customer. The first strike happened a year ago when Helzberg-Memorial ordered the wrong size wedding band for me, it was tungsten so it couldn't be re-sized. Problem is corporate will not send out the new size until they receive the old ring. I was told I could put down a deposit and they'll ship the next ring. Last I checked I didn't mess up, you're telling me that the store can't front the money they knew they were getting back? On top of this knowing we were in a hurry they never called when any of the rings arrived (my wife and mine) after PROMISING they would, two different times. We called up to the store to be told that the rings had been waiting for us? This was all about a year ago. Then this weekend we go into the store to have my wives ring sent out to be re-plated. When we bought the rings they gave us these cardboard things that are supposed to be signed every time she takes it in for inspection. We didn't' have it and the sales associate looked mildly annoyed that he had to look up. I guess he couldn't find it in the system and we were told we could go home get the card and come back. Target can tell me if I purchased toilet paper a year ago and you can't find a multi-thousand dollar purchase? We waited for 20 minutes as they tried to find out what they needed to do. One associate even told us they are doing us a favor by trying to look it up, b/c we signed a contract that said we would have this piece of cardboard on us? Long story short... 1) It's obvious the company makes them jump through hoops, perhaps the systems used are terrible... 2) None of this is my problem as a customer, it's your job to make the experience smooth b/c these problems aren't my problems..they are yours... read more

I just would like to express my frustration with the Helzberg store at Memorial City Mall in Houston, Texas. I never felt so discriminated like I felt the last two visits I made to this store. My husband and I purchased our wedding bands at Helzberg Pentagon City Mall in Arlington, VA back in 2005, since then we have visited the same store, others in the same state and different states as well, making separate purchases that have been documented under his name every time we shopped. After relocating to Houston, I needed to have my ring inspected in order to fulfil the warranty requirement for the stones, but I could not locate my inspection card. I visited the Houston store once to inquire about the possibility of continuing the service and also to see if I could have the card reprinted. I was "snarly" told by an employee, that it would not be possible. I decided to write to corporate and ask for more clarification on my insurance coverage, since no one seems to know what the terms were to an insurance purchased in 2005, but have yet to receive a reply, 2 weeks have passed since the first attempt. I then called my former store in VA where the employee explained to me that it WOULD be possible to have the card reprinted, she even gave me all the information I needed in regards to the 2005 purchase, warranty #, item SKU# and such, to make easier for the store in TX to find our file. I called the store in TX the day before my visit to make sure that with the information I had I would not have any issues getting my ring finally inspected, I was informed by the TX employee on the phone that I should have no issues and that the reprint would be possible. I made the trip to the store with information on hand and after over one hour trying to make some sense to the employees there I left with my ring inspected, a new card, a $ 43 bill to have 2 stones tightened and a feeling that my almost 10 yrs loyalty to the company had been wasted because I did not spend $ 100,000 on my ring and that my business would not be welcomed. I have been behind the brand all these years because I really love my ring, but after the way I was treated in TX I will for sure not be shopping at Helzberg for my 10yrs anniversary upgrade ring. read more

ELIZABETH is the reason I will be making my purchase at another location. She is rude and unprofessional. I called to see if the item was available and was told "I'm gonna have to call you back" I asked if it'd be within the hour as I needed to pick it up ASAP. Her response was "have a nice day" I called a second location and got a response within 45 seconds. This location is just a few minutes away as the other location was 20 miles further. I waited 45 minutes and didn't get a returned call. So I called back. She picks up the phone and says "yes?" "Is this the lady that just called? I have your info one second" I'm on hold for 4 minutes, when the other location answered me in less than a minute. So I will travel my happy ass 20 miles out and give my business to a location that does not lack customer service. Especially when it is something so simple. Helzberg in Memorial City Mall presented my fiancee and me with absolutely the worst shopping experience we've ever had. We said we were looking for an engagement ring, and were immediately deluged with a half-hour harangue detailing how expert they were at judging and mounting diamonds. Following this we were shown one very expensive diamond in a fancy setting and urged to buy it on the spot. When we asked for alternative stones and settings, they launched right back into the original sermon about their expertise. Ali made our experience exceptional! He went above and beyond and then some; making calls and tracking our order even on his day off. If interested, here is our story: Typical of many men, my fiancé waited until 3 weeks before the wedding to even start looking at wedding bands. Not liking big chain jewelry stores I gritted my teeth as we made our way through Robbins Brothers hard sale tactics and Jared's tiny selection. We went into Helzberg knowing that My fiancé bought me some earrings there and was happy with the service. We found "the ring" right away. We opted to have it sized because a ring from the manufacturer might not arrive in time. While we were there he talked to me about my antique engagement ring. I was impressed by his knowledge of antique cuts which is rare in many retail shops and we entrusted his jeweler to correct a past repair that was not right that very day. We left happy and excited. A few days later the wedding band was ready, but we weren't happy with the finish. Ali not only personally made sure the jeweler redid it and got it right, but ordered a new ring from the manufacturer. He made multiple calls to have it rushed through the manufacturer and the Helzberg corporate headquarters QI check, including on his day off. The ring arrived within a week. When we got to the store we were able to compare the ring we had sized down and the brand new one. We actually ended up keeping the ring that was sized at Helzberg which was nearly identical, except the new ring felt lighter and the fit was a little different. Ali knew I was anxious about everything and he called me and kept me posted. He gave us exceptional service that was truly personal. I could not have asked for more. He is a man who cares about what he does and listens to his customers.
