Visiting from Austin and wanted to grab some brunch before the drive home. Saw this place had a waitlist so we checked in to make it an easy process to get in line. Came around 11:30am on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. It was about a 25 minute wait, but due to the waitlist, we really only waited about 10 minutes upon arrival. Once sat we were greeted quickly along with our drinks (water and coffee) came out very fast which was nice. We tried both the mocha and vanilla latte and we loved them both. Mocha was our favorite, they made it just right! No free refills which is common for lattes. Our food came out fairly quickly too after we ordered despite it being packed and busy which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the pancake trio: Fruit Explosion, White Chocolate Raspberry, and Oreo (in order of our preference). We don't like overly sweet and they were just right! We didn't need to add syrup to them. Now the main show stopper we're the biscuits and gravy. We asked if they could do a half order (we didn't want the meal with eggs), which we were told yes. It ended up being the same full price so we would have rather just gotten the eggs if we'd known. Besides this...they we're amazing. They do everything from scratch and you can easily tell they were homemade. Seriously we couldn't recall the last time we have some this delicious. This is a cute little restaurant with some tasty food. My husband got the southern eggs benedict and I got a southwest bowl. His benny was delicious. The Segafredo coffee is my favorite coffee ever, and it was made fresh for us. Service could've been better, but they were pretty busy so we didn't mind the slow pace. My only complaint is that I asked for my jalapeños on the side because I cannot handle spice that well. I did get jalapeños on the side, but also a ton of them in my dish too. Brought it up to the waitress and she said "those are green peppers, not jalapeños." I definitely had both in my dish, and after two bites my mouth was on fire. I also had a random piece of spinach in my dish, too. The waitress asked if I wanted to order something different, to which I said no because my husband was already done with his meal, and I with my side of pancakes, by the time she came around. Lovely and cute spot for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Weekends and holidays are packed with about a 45 minute wait on average. Most of the time I go for brunch when my kids are out of school on a weekday for a mama and kids' date. No wait. The servers are really nice and attentive, some have jokes. The breakfast/brunch menu ranges from pancakes and waffles to benedicts, bowls, and egg platters, as well as a lunch menu (which I can't speak to because I realize now as I'm typing that I have never ordered lunch there ). Kids' favorites are the teddy bear pancakes which comes with eggs and a meat choice; my favorite is any of their breakfast bowls -- and their house potatoes and biscuits are a must if you're not on carb watch that day! read more

My wife and I went for breakfast at this location Sunday, June 19, 2022 around 10:30am. This was our first time eating here, and we were disappointed. The following is a list of the problems we experienced during our visit. 1) After a short wait to be seated, we were invited to follow the hostess to out table where she awkwardly turned and asked us to hold for a moment while she cleaned up the table. It's a little awkward to be brought to a table and then watch as the hostess cleans it. So, not a good start. But hey, things happen, and it wasn't really that big of a deal. 2) When the waitress, who did a great job and was not responsible for any of our issues, asked us what we'd like to drink, I asked for a Diet Coke. She informed us that they couldn't serve the carbonated drinks because the Pepsi fountain machine was broken. I ordered a Cranberry juice instead. 3) The wait on the food was pretty normal, especially considering the Father's-Day rush. But when the food arrived there were 4 errors: - I had ordered the California Benny which comes with Avocado. The avocado was missing. - I had requested no Bacon as I am vegetarian; but i found a couple pieces of bacon in the tomatoes. - I had also asked if they could swap the English Muffins for their biscuits. (This is an option for other Benedicts on their menu, so it should have been a straight forward substitution.) I got a side of biscuits instead. - My wife had a side of pancakes that took a long time to arrive, when they should have come with her food. 4) We told the waitress of the mistakes with my food, and she immediately took the food back to the kitchen and had it redone. When the remake arrived, the toppings were correct, but it was still on English Muffins, so I had to swap the toppings to the biscuits I had received myself. 5) Because of the errors, my wife and I started paying attention to other tables. We wondered if maybe it was just a one-off mistake with our order or if other clients were having problems as well. What we noticed was the servers were running food out, but they couldn't figure out to which tables the food went. Sometimes as many as three servers would bring dishes to the same table at the same time which was weird. We witnessed a few mistakes too: - One server was searching for the table to receive some pancakes. After searching for a while, the diner finally caught his attention and told him it was his food. Awkward. - The same server brought food for another table to OUR table and asked if it was ours. Oof. - The same exact thing happened with two servers at the table next to us for another order. That about sums up all the actual service issues we had. I think the primary cause of the errors is a lack of an effective system for expediting orders. One server should take an entire dish or table their food all at once, not in separate dishes at separate times by separate servers. No wonder they have such a hard time. The food itself was okay... just okay. Nothing special, certainly not worth the hassle. ---------- My final criticism is not related to the service, but actually the theme of the restaurant. I have a deep appreciation for literature. I have read some of Ernest Hemingway's writings, and even if I hadn't, a simple google search will clarify his unique style as an author. His writing is very macho and manly. He tends to have male-centered stories, and has a short, succinct, darkish, often gritty feel. His stories often focused on war and conflict, he contemplated death a lot; in fact he committed suicide at 61 years of age. All of that to say that the bright white walls with GOLD adornments and the splash of pink flowers over the name of the restaurant along with the servers' bright pink and green shirts is... well it's not a match. When one who knows anything about Ernest Hemingway goes to a restaurant named "Hemingway Brunch," he or she expects some reflection of the famous american author. I was surprised by the significant difference. In fact, it was almost like the restaurant tried to be the opposite of what one expects when he or she reflects upon the life of Hemingway. (He has been criticized as being anti-women, and treating his female characters poorly in his works. So the very effeminate themes of the restaurant were ironic.) With that said, perhaps the name is unrelated to the author. Perhaps there is something in the author's history of which I am unaware that justifies the themes of this restaurant. Anyways, just a small gripe I had that was unrelated to the actual service. read more

What an outstanding place for brunch! I cannot recommend Hemingway enough. From the food to the drinks, service and beyond, Hemingway and it's team made for an outstanding time! My wife and I started with a bloody Mary and their espresso martini - both delicious. I had the heavenly hash and my wife tried the California Benedict. Though simple, the heavenly hash lived up to its name! Benedict was delicious and of I had to nitpick at anything, the hollandaise was a touch grainy on texture but the flavors were still worth it. Our favorite part of the brunch menu was the pancake flight! How often have we all looked at the pancakes and thought there were multiple ones worth trying but didn't want to buy a stack of just one flavor? Inevitable, we mostly end up going with a savory main dish and no pancakes gets tasted at all! (sad). The pancake flight allows you to select 3 flavors and there's only one pancake for each flavor so you're not crushed by 3 stacks! We tried the lemon berry poppy seed, white chocolate raspberry, and cinnabomb! The white chocolate raspberry is definitely for someone with a big sweet tooth but worth trying, lemon berry poppy seed was wonderfully refreshing, and the cinnabomb was magic! I order something they had never done which is French toast with peanut butter my favorite for a few reasons 1) it's delicious don't knock it before you try it. 2) I don't eat enough protein every day so this helps me get in more protein In my diet. 3) I have just been doing it forever an pancakes waffles an French toast taste off without. And they had DELICIOUS sugar free syrup! It just taste so much better than all the others that are out there. Food was overall delicious. Eggs Benny tasted the way eggs Benedict should taste. The chicken fried steak, was perfectly cooked, tasty breading with eggs just to my liking. My only complaint would be the gravy needed some more love, I added some extra seasoning and it was perfect afterwards. As for the Michelada was great, I would not have minded more spice to it. Such a cute entryway and decor throughout with comfortable seating, marble look tables, and a stylish coffee and Christmas cocktail bar. This is such a cute brunch spot! Since it's in a shopping strip there's tons of parking. We came on a Sunday at "peak" brunch time and it was busy but the wait wasn't long. We got seated and had a wonderful server. I didn't get her name but she was so friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. She didn't hover but checked in regularly to make sure we were ok. We all enjoyed our breakfasts - I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu! It's great that they have so many options to choose from but also to meet any dietary needs. Had brunch a few weeks back and was so disappointed. We had friends in from out of town and had raved to them about Hemingway. When we got there waited about 10 our 15 minutes. Not a big deal but service was incredibly spotty. Took our orders fairly quickly but went downhill from there. Food took a long time and was not near the quality we remembered. My omelet was bland, pancakes tasted like bisquik.. My husband's bacon eggs and potato's were mediocre. All who had toast or biscuits had to ask for butter and jelly and we received a response of "you'll just have to wait a minute ". were blown off and received an eye roll when we asked again.
