As far as patio bars go, this is a good option for happy hours and light bites. The patio is very spacious and it has so many clever, hand-painted signs that are sure to make you smile. I'm a sucker for frozen drinks, so I tried both the frozen vodka lemonade and the frozen sangria. They were delicious and decently strong! For dinner, I shared the fried pickle spears, bacon ranch quesadillas, and cheeseburger quesadillas (the menu is right--don't knock them until you try them!). My only issue with this cute little place was the staff. The whole time I was there, one of the bartenders was not wearing a mask...I made sure to stay away as much as possible. The staff also seemed to favor the regular customers and they were not overly friendly to newbies. If it weren't for the staff, I'd definitely give this place five stars. I will give it another try in the future, but when I do, I'll turn around if there's a lack of masks! read more

First time here (last night) and I absolutely LOVED it! The food was odd the chain - def recommend Mac n cheese balls with pulled pork & queso. My type of vibe - laid back and chill. The band they had playing was honestly The Voice worthy - their rendition of "Tennessee Whiskey" gave me chills. The bar tenders were wicked friendly which was a nice surprise. We chatted for a bit and I can't get over how friendly they were! Oh, did I mention Henderson Heights is dog friendly?!? Me and my pup will def be back!!! read more

I really enjoy this place. I've been for brunch and now a Saturday night. It's dog friendly and children a la kids are welcome till 8. Tried the buffalo (flavor, not the meat) burger and the pulled pork hash (brunch). I would get both again. They have bug spray but I'd bring your own and maybe a coil. The building looks good with it's new paint job, on its 102 years of character. Their Facebook page says Patio, pub & grub. All that is true, bring your friends or your four legged best friend. If you have none, no worries, come and make some. It didn't take but five minutes for us to be invited to join some lovely, free spirited folks. We had fun getting to know them and they even shared their grub! I could come here and lounge all day whether it be on the swings out doors, or the hammocks in doors. This is absolutely no doubt about it, my kind of place. Mexican Mule, just down right refreshing in this heat. It had that kick I enjoy in everything, everyday, all day. This is the kind of place, I wont be sorry to be the first to arrive, and last to leave. I am apologetic, I have no pictures of the pub, patio, swings, food, drinks, and friends. What a hidden gem! Like you seriously have to know it is here. Brunch was great with me having the egg in a hole blt and my fiancee having brunch style quesadillas. Heather was our bartender and took excellent care of us. She came up with innovative drink solutions to our mood and even made me a wake up red bull and Orange Smirnoff that was far superior to what I asked her to make me initially. Our go to place, definitely a (slightly) hidden gem. Great outdoor area as well as a cozy inside. Lots of TV's to watch all the games on. Puppy friendly while the people there are always the nicest and make sure you're taken care of. Great daily specials, their drinks are all good, my favorite is anything frozen during the summer and their hot toddy during the "cold" season. Or at least any cooler weather Had my 30th birthday party here back in March and Megan, the owner, made sure we had delicious mini-cupcakes and let us whack a giant Corona bottle pinata in the parking lot. We wanted to "support local" since we read some reviews posted by the owner of Henderson Heights that the neighborhood was bullying them for "no reason." We felt badly and wanted to go in to support the business owner as we have many small other businesses . Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. #1 NONE of the bartenders were wearing masks , the inside was open and the bartenders were at best, only a foot away from customers when ordering . Apparently not contaminating drinks or spreading a virus to each Other or the customers is not a high priority. # 2 when we arrived they explained very candidly and specifically that we would have to order food "to go" with our first drink, (in air quotes) close out and then could order AS MANY (stressed) drinks as we want on separate tabs. They even offer a 10% discount if you pay cash and have a "paper tab." SUPER SHADY. We wondered why everyone was eating and drinking out of togo boxes ? Probably an attempt at circumventing the current laws. There were several obviously very intoxicated people ordering SHOTS while we were ordering our food and drinks .... how are shots "to go?" #3 the tables are NOT 6 feet apart and there were several large groups of people . The food we ordered was decent, the guy dropping the food had a mask , the patio is nice, and our "to go" beers were cold but super foamy . Conclusion : We wanted to support local but not when a bar that claims it is a restaurant and is OBVIOUSLY and very indiscreetly functioning as a bar. We get it, hard times call for desperate measures but at the VERY least put on some damn masks to protect the customers at the VERY least . We ARE in the neighborhood, we have been to Henderson Heights MANY times over the years , we will return to support this business and tell our friends to ONLY when they step up and start running the business honestly, and most importantly SAFELY. read more

Definitely cute, and I love how dog friendly it is; however it's a bit more divey than I expected. Nothing bad about it, just not what I expected from the pictures. The guy that brought my food out was super nice, and the food is typical fried, cheesy, fatty goodness. I really enjoyed the loaded fries. The drinks are good. If you're sitting outside, you have to go up to the little window to order. They simultaneously serve indoor and outdoor patrons, so it might take a minute. This is a cool little neighborhood spot that I would love to have near me. Its a cute little converted house with lots of seating inside & outside on the Patio, which has been expanded. I have been a couple of times. Once with friends and again with my husband and everyone enjoyed their food & drinks. It seems like its walking distance from many of the homes in the area so I am sure it gets crowded during peak times. read more

I made my first trip to Henderson Heights on Cinco de Mayo. Located off of Washington, they have a small parking lot but it was full when I arrived. There is street parking close by but make sure you read the signs! Henderson Heights is a casual, somewhat-divey bar with an outdoor patio. We ended up sitting at the bar indoors. They had several Cinco de Mayo specials including margarita pitchers so two thumbs up for that! Unfortunately, the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the loaded fries which come with queso, pico de gallo, jalapenos, bacon, and pulled pork. When my fries arrived, I noticed that the pulled pork and bacon were missing. I let the bus boy know about this and he brought the food back to the kitchen. When he returned, the pulled pork was there but the bacon was still missing. When I made a point of this, he was like you want bacon? I was like umm yeah, the dish comes with bacon so yes, I do want bacon. He brought my food back to the kitchen again and came back with four strips of overcooked bacon. Kind of bizarre that the bacon wasn't crumbled on top of the fries. Instead, it was loaded fries with a side of bacon. The fries were pretty lackluster after all of the trouble. I'd stick with the drinks at Henderson even though the service was pretty slow. It took us a while to close out our bill because the bartenders weren't attentive enough. read more

I only realized after that she never asked how we wanted our burger Gravy train - gravy was grainy and you can tell its made from powder. We came here on a Sunday night of labor day weekend. Great vibes at the outdoor seating, they had a variety of seating options including porch swings, and had fans going in most directions so we stayed cool in the heat. There are also a ton of hilarious signs outside all sporting clever sayings, the outdoor seating is definitely full of photo ops. The bartender was very busy but made time to talk to each customer and make them feel welcome. Also had a great selection of beer! They do have a requirement that every tab must order one item of food (can be an appetizer) which we had just eaten so we didn't really want to, but I understand during this time they may need to keep up their food sales to stay open during Covid. Henderson Heights has great drinks and food. The drinks are a little over priced, but hey, it's Washington. Definitely love the chill environment because it's a convenient location without the chaos. They wanted to give us frozen ass strawberries in a drink that specifically said "fresh strawberries and blueberries" so we opted for another drink. To top it off the other bartenders told the bartender making our drink "oh it's fine just use it" IN FRONT OF US. IT SUCKED NO FLAVOR PURE ALCOHOL. Wanted to catch the end of the game and have always been curious about this Neighborhood dive. Love it. It's Sunday, great shade, awesome patio, pet friendly and plenty of TVs. Started with SouthWest Eggrolls- too greasy. Buffalo Cheeseburger was delish - love the steak fries. Great place to bring your pups! They had a great doggy beer, and patio for the pups with a really cool swing set in all! The place is built out of a house and truly gives you the feel of hanging out in the backyard. Except I treat my yard for mosquitos with foggers, tiki torches, candles etc when I have company over so we don't all catch zika, and get bit crazy. Can't express to the management to do something to prevent mosquitos, we had to leave and go across the street. At one point the waitress made smart remarks like oh I just get used to it? Wait what? Anyways..... The food was about as average as it gets, the pretzel is a frozen joke. Plus side they had a good cider, but I'm pretty sure only one. Well, Big Eyed Fish did not last very long. To bad, because the southern inspired menu was quite good. In its place is the brand new Henderson Heights. With a new coat of paint, the inside will still be familiar with a nice outdoor patio as well. Service here is really on top of things, no opening night issues from my point of view. The bartenders were on top of everything and happy to talk shop with everyone. Drinks are all good, with 6 taps of good craft beers. Lots of bottles, and some mixed drinks that were very popular. I don't think Big Eyed Fish had a liquor license. Drinks, service, and vibe all good. The food has a bit of a let down though. Pizzas, burger, and wraps. Almost a dumbed down menu from what it use to be. Not that one should strictly compare the two, but just seems like a let down to me. I was not a fan of the pizzas, paper thin crust that seemed like it was store bought and frozen. Really just flavorless overall. For $16 I was expecting much more (for the record I had the BBQ chicken pizza). This is more of a corner neighborhood joint than what it once was, and there is nothing wrong with that. They pull off the corner watering hole joint well, but I was not a fan of the pizza. Maybe I will give the food another go after drinks one of these days, though there are better pub grub spots. Still, very friendly and relaxed. A good place that I will come back to now and then, if not exceptional. read more

HH is a homey, comfortable neighborhood pub It has a bar that seat about 10, couches and chairs in somewhat of a living room setting, darts, and a large outdoor area with swings included. The crowd tends to be mellow and 25+, so there are not a bunch of frat boys doing the latest shooters. Very clean and casual venue, a nice addition to the neighborhood. read more
