Went today for their crawfish. $10 a pound is not terrible, but there's really no option for customization other than sides. The crawfish was WAY too salty and way too spicy it was hard to enjoy the actual crawfish. They were also slightly grainy. I've been here before though, and their food is pretty good. I've had their catfish before, it was so delicious. Parking lot is big, so you'll find a space, and the outdoor seating is nice. read more

My Order: chicken quesadilla, chicken wings, tater tots (took most of the food home lol ) Chicken quesadilla (5/5) - this is what I order at Cedar Creek bc I love it. Perfectly cooked comes with pico, guacamole, sour cream and a delicious spicy green sauce. Wings (4/5) - mango habernero - they were slightly crisp and were 10 to an order; not spicy enough for me but still very tasty Tator tots (4/5) - who doesn't like a pile of tots, they were a bit oily but still very crispy Had a great time. Sooooo yea, I went for brunch and the food was very basic. I wouldn't come back for brunch. The nachos didn't have enough cheese and they'll charge for extra. I didn't realize when selecting this place that you have to order at the bar and they don't serve at the tables. While it wasn't ideal for what we wanted, the menu looked good and we decided to stay. The inside had the atmosphere of your casual neighborhood bar/ grill and the outside had a casual ice-house type feel. As I had my pup with me, we sat outside and watched some of the games on the TVs. When going to the bar to order, they were out of a few things but we were able to find something we each wanted. I ordered a house wine and my friend ordered a draft beer which were both reasonably priced on the happy hour menu ($3 Beer, $5 Wine). I went to Cactus Cove Bar and Grill on a Tuesday evening for Happy Hour. I happened to be there on the night of an Astros game so most people there were watching and shouting at the various televisions placed throughout the venue. The venue was quaint and it felt like a nice hole in the wall type of place. You do have to order everything at the bar which can feel a little inconvenient to have to go to and fro to from your seat to the bar. The service is fine. There's staff that grabs your plates out the way and the bartenders were nice. The frito pie was good. I would order it again but it's not better than frito pie I'd make at home. The cocktail was about $7 and it's described as a bourbon peach cider jam with lemon and mint. It was okay but I'm not sure I'd order it again. I will say, the bartender had a fractured wrist and had to make the drink with one hand. I think that in itself it quite impressive. This bar is very close to my job so my coworkers and I go at least once a week. This place has very good food, and amazing drinks! The bartenders here really know what they are doing. They are also very friendly and always make an effort to remember their regulars. I have tried their salads, tacos, chicken, nachos, chicken strips and not a single dish has ever disappointed. Also, they are currently offering crawfish! 8.50 lb right now and it is delicious! If you're like me and like your crawfish really really spicy, you will love it! I will say the only downside to this place is that it can get really packed when the post-work crowd shows up and there are only 2 bartenders on at all times (from what I've seen) so sometimes it can take a while to get a drink. We decided on 6lbs of crawfish which is a Cajun boil only one spicy level... which I consider medium to mild. We also got an order of boudin balls and fries. The fries were good. So I have a habit of asking if the food they offer is what they are serving, and every time they give me what they want. It's not what I ordered! No one came and said sorry, but we were out of that menu item. They give me what they feel. What if I was highly allergic to that food item, and they tainted the entire meal (speaking for those who just might be)? I get half the time your feed intoxicated people, but damn, I'm not that intoxicated. We ordered the crawfish since everyone was raving how good they were and it was ok. They weren't spicy at all, just seasoned. The corn and potatoes tasted like they were cooked separately from the crawfish. Wouldn't come back here for the crawfish. Better off going to Boilhouse way down the street.
