Cactus needs to rest, just like me. Met a friend for lunch on a semi- cloudy Monday. It's close to both of us and my friend wanted a pet friendly spot to bring her Carly. Got there around 12 and it was relatively quiet. A few work men sitting at the bar. There is a patio and we took a table out there with the doggie. We are fans of Cedar Creek and this was a smaller version. Order at the bar and they bring the food to the table. The bar guy was super friendly. My Order: chicken quesadilla, chicken wings, tater tots (took most of the food home lol ) Chicken quesadilla (5/5) - this is what I order at Cedar Creek bc I love it. Perfectly cooked comes with pico, guacamole, sour cream and a delicious spicy green sauce. Wings (4/5) - mango habernero - they were slightly crisp and were 10 to an order; not spicy enough for me but still very tasty Tator tots (4/5) - who doesn't like a pile of tots, they were a bit oily but still very crispy Had a great time. Staff super friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. It started to get a bit busier before we left and the crowd was diverse. Def recommend this spot.

Sooooo yea, I went for brunch and the food was very basic. I wouldn't come back for brunch. The nachos didn't have enough cheese and they'll charge for extra. Basic breakfast - the eggs had no seasoning. The queso was very thick so eat it quick. Surprisingly the breakfast taco was the best think we had. The brisket has was pretty good too. Service - you order at the bar, but they're not super accommodating when things aren't right. The crowd is reflective of a specific demographic, that I don't fit. They have a nice outdoor seating area.

SOOOO goood!!! Spicy & delicious crawfish! Also, the biggest crawfish in the city for sure! I'm super picky w my crawfish and I'm so glad I found a new place I like! Service was great, I sat at the bar. Definitely a chill Louisiana style bar

Been here a few times and almost close enough to be a "local bar" for me. It's another one in the The Creek Group family of restaurants/bars. The website/menu are similar. They always have a lively crowd on game nights/football season. (The Houston Clemson Club meets here) There's food and drink specials almost daily featuring a full bar. (checkout their happy hour) Parking is plenty outside and it's really the only neighborhood bar within this part of the heights and Spring Branch east. You do have to order at the bar, seating can be limited if it's busy but they also feature a decent size patio (dog friendly). Overall nice vibes, brunch options available on weekend, sometimes Crawfish as well! A great neighborhood bar and a decent place to watch the game!

My friend and I decided to visit Cactus Cove on a Wednesday evening during their happy hour. I didn't realize when selecting this place that you have to order at the bar and they don't serve at the tables. While it wasn't ideal for what we wanted, the menu looked good and we decided to stay. The inside had the atmosphere of your casual neighborhood bar/ grill and the outside had a casual ice-house type feel. As I had my pup with me, we sat outside and watched some of the games on the TVs. When going to the bar to order, they were out of a few things but we were able to find something we each wanted. I ordered a house wine and my friend ordered a draft beer which were both reasonably priced on the happy hour menu ($3 Beer, $5 Wine). In addition to the drinks, we both ordered the Cactus Club with fries. While not your average club (a difference sauce on it), it was good and something I'd order again.

Came to meet a friend at noon on a Saturday. No resy needed, plenty of seating both indoor and out. You order food inside at the end of the bar, and have your food delivered to your table. Server was kind/patient that rung me up, gave me some good ideas of what to order. Food- I got the single pancake, only $4, it was good, I liked. I also got the biscuit sandwich, you chose a side of grits or hash. The has wasn't bad. Overall nice vibe. Dogs enjoying the patio with there humans. Easy place to grab lunch.

I went to Cactus Cove Bar and Grill on a Tuesday evening for Happy Hour. I happened to be there on the night of an Astros game so most people there were watching and shouting at the various televisions placed throughout the venue. The venue was quaint and it felt like a nice hole in the wall type of place. You do have to order everything at the bar which can feel a little inconvenient to have to go to and fro to from your seat to the bar. The service is fine. There's staff that grabs your plates out the way and the bartenders were nice. The frito pie was good. I would order it again but it's not better than frito pie I'd make at home. The cocktail was about $7 and it's described as a bourbon peach cider jam with lemon and mint. It was okay but I'm not sure I'd order it again. I will say, the bartender had a fractured wrist and had to make the drink with one hand. I think that in itself it quite impressive. Overall I'd recommend Cactus Cove for a chill spot to drink and watch a sports game.

Come on Thursday for their steak night plus $25 bottles of wine! You order at the bar and grab a seat. I liked the comfy couch area that gives a lounge feel and is great to hang with friends. They'll bring out your food. Thursdays DO get busy for their steaks- worth it! Cooked to order, juicy, seared, delicious. The $25 bottles of wine are an added bonus! And.... had to also try the house Margs, they were great. Looking forward to coming out again.

Our go to spot to bring the pups. Large dog friendly patio. All the staff and people here are friendly. Seat yourself and order drinks/food at the bar. Brunch, crawfish, drinks, all are fabulous!!

Shots to celebrate not getting a raise!

The pizza was not mind blowing but the service, ambiance, and effort put into menu items, decorations, and special events makes this place enjoyable. I would not try the Al Pastor Pizza again and the pepperoni was slightly undercooked to what I enjoy. (I prefer less flop and more crunch) but I would go back and maybe tell the waitress that preference. They also added patio seating that looks fun once it cools down outside!

I stopped in on a Friday evening for a night cap. The bar is a pretty decent size and they have their own parking lot. They also have arcade games including Skee Ball and Pop-A-Shot. The menu had beer, wine, and cider, but they do have a full bar. I didn't see any specialty cocktails on the menu so I just asked the bartender, Marc to make me a gin based cocktail. Marc came up with his version of a Corpse Reviver. It had a tart, yet fruity twist to it. I can't recall all of the ingredients he used, but I liked it. I also had a Gimlet which was really good. Marc informed me about The Railyard shot special. Any time a train rolls by, you can purchase a vodka based shot for $2. I'm not much of a shot person, but I went ahead and ordered a White Tea shot. It was really good.
