Mother's Day Weekend was busy to be exepected. Hennessey's was the right move! The staff was friendly welcoming and knew how to handle the busy crowds without compromising quality or customer service. I really enjoyed my burger, which was very flavorful and did not take too long to come out despite the crowd. The ambiance was also lovely with live music inside and a very spacious seating area. Also the cocktails are made with real juice freshly squeezed! My handmade lemonade was delicious.

Took advantage of Tuesdays BOGO hamburgers. They were tasty, although quite difficult to eat, so I ended up having to use a knife & fork. Cindy was a doll, both friendly & patient.

So went back to see the English Joe band, always a good time. Service was super slow this time. And not sure why a pint of Guinness is now $15 But I did enjoy my citrus salad with chicken, don't forget the $7.50 bloody Mary's. They need to start putting them in a smaller glass, since they don't fill it to the top, but whatever it was $7.50

$7.50 for delish Bloody Marys? Yes, please!

Awesome Sunday brunch! Sat on the beautiful outdoor back patio and enjoyed some excellent Bloody Marys and egg dishes. Real corned beef hash Benedict for him and yummy egg white veggie scramble for me. Robin was our server, and could not have been nicer or more perfect! She also told us about other great specials they run during the week ... hello 2-for-1 burger Tuesday! This is our new regular hang out!

2.5 stars. This place is so not worth eating at, even on Tuesday buy one burg get one free. Burger are flavorless. Should have know this, my numer one rule is, if they serve Pepsi there are willing to cheap in all there products. Service, what service never checked on us. Burg came with so little fries talk about cheap. Place is only open because location sad. Ambiance I don't do as I always say but it is in old San Juan Capistrano, which use to be nice and sleep tell everyone exploited it and now it just another crappy town in Orange County that locals can enjoy and the outside people come and trash, but that's that

I fell in love with the Smash burger at the Seal Beach location. I knew Tuesday was two for one burgers. I went with the regular burger which comes with fries and a pickle wedge. The burger here was just as good as Seal Beach. I scarfed them both down. Everything on the menu looks good. I want to come back and try other items.

enjoying our drinks on the patio! heaters are nice & warm.

Kira is an amazing bartender & wonderful person! she took great care of me & my large party who came to celebrate our manager moving locations. she helped me order food before it was too late & had stellar menu recommendations. i got the chicken club on a brioche bun w sweet potato fries. absolutely delicious. she also took the time to go in the back to find coffee liqueur to make me an espresso martini that was one of the best i've ever had after inquiring to my preferences. all this while it was popping! lots of happy guests thanks to the Henny's team working together. one person was taken away by the paramedics (she had some health issues, add intoxication = no bueno) but instead of being rude & dismissing her Kira did her best to help her until services arrived. we had a great time celebrating & drinks were delicious. Hennessys knows how to take care of a crowd, wild or not. thank you especially to Kira & Hennessys!

For a bar, that's not always a given, and as someone who doesn't drink as much these days, that immediately stood out to me. I grabbed a lavender leprechaun and it was super refreshing, light, and just a really nice change of pace from the usual soda-or-water options. It didn't feel like an afterthought, it actually felt intentional. For food, I went with the corned beef sandwich and it did not disappoint. Hearty, flavorful, and exactly what you'd want from a proper Irish pub. The whole place has that classic pub vibe but still feels welcoming whether you're drinking or not. That balance is rare, and I really appreciated it. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially knowing I've got solid non-alcoholic options to enjoy.

I ordered the sampler that came with smaller portions of the beef stew, chicken boxty, shepherd's pie, and corned beef and cabbage.i think the stew was one of the ones i liked the best, it was hearty, the meat was tender, and the flavor was good. The chicken boxty could have used a little bit more flavor to the sauce, it tasted kind of bland. The shepherd's pie was the beef version, it was not the best I've had but still good. I feel like it also could have used just a bit more flavor or some salt. The corned beef and cabbage tasted like they added nothing to it to give it flavor, so i was a bit disappointed with it. However, the corned beef was pretty tender and i liked the taste. We also ordered the house burger which we liked. I liked the flavor the irish cheddar gave it. It came with fries, which tasted fresh and we enjoyed. It's pretty dark inside, and it definitely looks older, but that's the vibe they are going for. You almost feel transported to another time for sure. Yeah everything was in there The upstairs looks a little bit brighter, and in hindsight I wish we would have sat up there. I feel like downstairs is more for when you just want to have a drink and watch the game.

AT THE INTERSECTION OF REGRET AND REMORSE…read more At what point does a cover charge become just a discrete way of saying "you're not welcome, only tolerated"? Nothing humbles you faster than paying a $40 daytime 'cover charge' to sit uncomfortably with alchy-bros and their untreated mental health issues. We came to this Irish Tavern because...well... St. Patricks Day. The bouncer wouldn't let us in until we paid the extortion. It's no wonder millennials are broke. I didn't really wanna pay, but we found such a great parking spot... He took my cash and stuffed it in his pocket. For $40, we assumed something legendary was awaiting us inside. Is Cillian Murphy here? Or maybe a Glen Hansard cover band.? At the very least a Conan O'Brien blowup doll? Nope... just canned music playing over speakers that crackled like grandpa's radio. So there's no band... But, for $40 there better be at least something I haven't seen before. Perhaps they've summoned St. Patrick from the dead? Or figured out how to make everyone's red flags visually appear. Or how to uncrack an egg... Something! But nope, it was just like a regular day that wasn't $40 to get in. And here's the thing: the food and drink are ALSO more expensive than usual! So they already fleeced me for $40, and now two drinks are also $40? Two corned beef plates: another $50!? It was average to below average. It was like they took every Irish Tavern in the world, put 'em all in a blender, and hit puree. It was just... easy-to-chew mediocrity. Honestly, I've been to better pubs at Holiday Inn. As we walked out, the same bouncer was still collecting his shakedown fees. But this time the cover charge was only $10. Only 45 minutes later, the cover charge for the privilege of... well nothing... lowered exponentially!?! This isn't an Irish tavern, this is a scam with a jukebox. Pro tip: I've paid $40 for many things. A glow-in-the-dark toilet seat. A Texas-shaped waffle maker. A desktop punching bag for when Yelp takes down my reviews. But I'd rather pay $40 to NOT go to a mediocre Irish bar. Next year, I'm staying home to enjoy a $3 Guinness in my garage. No cover. Curated playlist. Parking's up front. Just me, my red flags, and zero regret.

I believe that Holiday's matter, not as days that drive chocolate and flower sales, but as…read morereminders that whimsy should be celebrated to make life a bit more colorful and joyous. Scrooge might say "Bah! Humbug!" to festivities but, in other hand, say "hab gubmuh" to the days and seasons that bring mirth, hanging streamers and disco balls into our life, lest these be left in grayscale. That is why I was attracted to this bar because I wanted to know be drenched in red and pink glamour while all the way celebrating that very special feeling of love. As, soon I entered the door and saw the exaggerated decorations on the roof and on the walls, my immediate thought was "fun," not corny, or please with these hanging hearts and neon lights. Thus this place owns the trip to love land without apology, and I for one, say that this means that the festive goal hoped for hit heart center. I also went relatively early, in terms of bar crowd hours, and was surprised that the place was full to its arteries. Truth be told, that is why, I ticked one star of my overall rating because this place is cute and a vibe, and a worthy scene, but it is also small and packed to the point where folks are proverbial sardines in a tin can. But more on that later, right now, we start with what gave me anchor in place: their pool table. There is no place to sit, amidst the crowd, I automatically assessed. Where can I be to find my place? So I went to the table and played pool. I appreciated that the place had clearly articulated rules and procedures for play, which removed ambiguity and created a climate of respect toward the game, which allows for pool games where appropriate and competitive game play reigns. I managed to order a drink on theme for the night: a Misty Kiss. It was the bartender's suggestion, after I asked for their sweetest cocktail. When she first suggested it, I thought she said minty kiss, and thus when she delivered the drink, I was expecting some kind of shamrock shade. But then I heard the appropriate pronunciation- misty, not minty. I wondered when a literal misty kiss would be appropriate and beautiful? Then I remember scanning a picture book of love pictures, and one was of a woman saying goodbye to her sailor as he shipped of to fight in a world war, and I realized that the sadness in her eyes as she said goodbye was a form of a misty kiss. I took my Misty Kiss and played a game of pool with a guy named Matt. He revealed that he played every day, which explained why I did not stand a chance against a daily player, balance in talent simply did not exist. It was hard to find a spot to place my drink, which tasted swell, and was on brand for the evening, and quite stiff! It was hard to find a seat or a spot for me to call my own. And it was for others as well. I saw people going to the bathroom and needing to allocate themselves in near hunches to avoid the sticks of pool. And out in the crowd, people were huddled on the floor, not sure where to be so they could feel like they had a space of their own and did not bump with others. But there was no way to avoid bumping into others, and it was a mission to find a spot. That is why when I saw a table for two open up, I did a mad dash to an empty chair, like a fool in love who rushes in. It is at the chair where I could not only see but stop and admire the paper roses of the place. As my pictures show, the place truly did not limit itself from embracing the spirit of Valentine's day. For instance, they had this wall of decorations, with hearts, orbs (white, red, pink) teddy bears, and so much more; it was a tapestry hung just right for the occasion. Of course, people wanted to use the wall as the backdrop but with so many people, this too, required a wait and navigate plan. I did help some folks out by taking their pictures. I was not Cupid but in these moments I did hope that my aim was true. In the final analysis, I immensely appreciated the decorations, and all of the folks who dressed for the occasion, because it gave texture and meaning to the decor. But the tight quarters limited the love I can give to this place. However, I do know now where to go, where I want a themed drink, and environment to boot.
