We were looking for a place open at 9pm and we ended up finding Hennessy's Tavern. The place was busy, looked like they had a big group in the house. There was live music, which we enjoyed a lot. They were definetly understaffed that night, so we had to go find a server to take or order - they were doing their best with such a big group. For food, we ordered Ahi Poke chips - they were fresh and tasty, and the Dublin Sliders - the patty was seasoned really well. The standout was the Smoked BBQ Brisket Sandwich - it was extremely good: juicy, tender, and rich in flavor, and something I would order again anytime. Mother's Day Weekend was busy to be exepected. Hennessey's was the right move! I fell in love with the Smash burger at the Seal Beach location. I knew Tuesday was two for one burgers. I went with the regular burger which comes with fries and a pickle wedge. Kira is an amazing bartender & wonderful person! she took great care of me & my large party who came to celebrate our manager moving locations. she helped me order food before it was too late & had stellar menu recommendations. i got the chicken club on a brioche bun w sweet potato fries. absolutely delicious. she also took the time to go in the back to find coffee liqueur to make me an espresso martini that was one of the best i've ever had after inquiring to my preferences. all this while it was popping! lots of happy guests thanks to the Henny's team working together. one person was taken away by the paramedics (she had some health issues, add intoxication = no bueno) but instead of being rude & dismissing her Kira did her best to help her until services arrived. we had a great time celebrating & drinks were delicious. We had lunch here on a perfectly warm Saturday afternoon. Walked through the restaurant where there was live music and headed to the back outdoor bar and patio. We ordered a Guinness and a Blue Moon. They have an extensive draft beer selection. Our bartender/server was very friendly and provided great service! We ordered a cheeseburger with fries, and a Reuben with house made chips. Happy 4th of July at Hennessey's Tavern in SJC. We sat in the patio, and we're immediately helper by Bella. We ordered two ranch waters with Don Julio Blanco and the spinach artichoke dip. The service was good and ambiance positive and cool. Sarah made our drinks and took our entree order as we both ordered the Dublin Burger, and they were fantastic. Also, another round of drinks. After an incident unrelated to me, I was shocked to later hear from multiple sources that a bartender allegedly referred to me in a derogatory way ("gay friend") as the reason for what happened. If true, comments like this are unprofessional, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable in a place that serves the public. Whether you're LGBTQ+ or not, no one should have to wonder if the staff is talking about them in slurs or gossiping about patrons after they leave. It's disappointing to think this behavior might be tolerated here. I had high expectations because of the reviews that this place had gotten. Let's be honest, if you are not white, don't come in. I came here the weekend before Halloween and was with a huge group. My boyfriend and I got there first, so security carded us. He took forever to look at my ID while he barely looked at other people's (they're white and I'm in my mid twenties.) However, we walked out of the tavern to get everyone else so we could go in together. I gave my ID to the security again as curtesy for him to check (this was all within 5 mins between the first ID check and the second one) He again, took forever to check my ID and had the audacity to claim that my ID was fake. After I confronted him that my ID was legit, he stated "I'll let it slide this time" excuse me..??? On top of the horrible experience with the security, my boyfriend had a terrible encounter with one of the white bartender with long hair. They ignored us for the longest time and only came to us because everyone else (whom were white already got theirs). When my boyfriend ordered a Long Island for his sister, the bartender literally rolled his eyes and asked very rudely if he wanted to close out or leave it open. This place is small and dirty filled with entitled, rude and ignorant employees who do not give a flying fuck about you unless you're white. So I guess if you're white, feel free to come and enjoy. But if you're a person of color, just save the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

A large bar and also street side seating. we ordered our food and they were quick to get it to the table. I ordered a bacon avocado burger. It was anice portion and quite tasty. My dinner partner ordered Mac and cheese and a side salad. The Mac and cheese was enough for two. Most of it was packed to go, it was more than enough. Stopped here after going to mission San Juan Capistrano. The back patio is really nice to sit on. We had four adults and three kids and they were very accommodating. The food came out pretty fast and the portions were decent. The kids menu had 5 or 6 main food items on it which is more than you see and at about $7 it came with one side and milk or juice. The milk was whole milk poured into a cup. Our server was very friendly and he brought coloring stuff for the kids. I had the pretzel burger which I was surprised was actually pretzel shaped on top and not a pretzel bun shaped bread. It was tasty.
