    Trivia Night
    Anthony N.

We spotted by during trivia night by a Bally accident. Their GM who was also running the trivia was great! While we were there we got the fish and chips a shepherds pie and the sausage rolls. I've never been giving a dipping sauce for sausage rolls before but the chili sauce paired really nicely. Our mains were tasty as well, the Sheppard pie expertly felt like a great portion for dinner. The staff were great as well. We sat at the bar and were cheeked on often, and they were always ready with another beer when it was time.

Stopped by The Field Irish Pub in downtown San Diego for a Guinness and a bite on St Patrick's Day, so as expected, it was absolutely packed. Despite the crowds, service was impressively fast. We grabbed seats at the bar and were taken care of right away, which was a pleasant surprise given how busy it was. Food-wise, the fish and chips were good, but not amazing--solid, but nothing to rave about. The sausage rolls, unfortunately, were a bit underwhelming for me. I was hoping for a crispier, flakier pastry, but they fell a little short in texture. One thing I really miss is the live music they used to have before Covid. It added so much to the atmosphere, and I'd love to see them bring that back. Outside of big events like St. Patrick's Day, the place can feel a bit quiet, so the music would definitely elevate the overall vibe. Overall, still a great spot for a pint and good service--especially impressive during peak crowds--but there's definitely room to bring back some of that old charm.

Got the potato leek soup - it was good! Nice and simple. Good portions as well. The restaurant itself looked so cool!!

So much fun the 1st weekend we had to go back again the next weekend we were in Downtown. The staff is truly special and so awesome. Food is great (I highly recommend the Irish chicken boxty with Jameson cream sauce) and the caramel apple bread pudding is indulgent and simply amazing. Drinks of course are great as well. My favorite is the Irish Old Fashioned (has a splash of Guinness) not too sweet and hits the spot. I love they have built in pour spout for the Jameson too. There is seating downstairs, an upstairs (where on occasion a live band plays and is awesome) and some seating outside. I haven't been to Ireland yet but when I walk into the Field it is exactly what I would imagine walking into a pub in Ireland would feel like. The staff makes you feel welcome and like you are at home form the moment you step in, to the moment you step out. Always a great time!!!

10 stars immediately yes! I'm usually skeptical about pub food but hot damn that scotch egg was amazeballs! Had the steak and fries which came cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce was really good, not overpowering peppery. Don't sleep on the bread pudding. Staff was very kind and attentive as well.

THE FIELD IRISH PUB @ DOWNTOWN 5th AVE Parking is available for street, but I'd definitely recommend ubering for a night out to avoid traffic and finding tight spots for parking. I came to this Irish bar on Saturday night at around 10:30 PM. It was pretty crowded, but we ended up finding a spot in the place. We ordered their Guinness beer, as it was very good quality. I'm not really a beer person, but everyone at my table ended up getting it and my boyfriend really loves this spot because of how high-quality of the beer they have. each beer is about $10 and they have it in a really nice glass. I also love the decor that they had like these curtains and plates that said like bread it was very like you were literally in Ireland. The service was also really great. We ended up getting a lot of beers from the bars, so it was really nice to the servers! overall, I would definitely come back to this spot, I really liked the vibe of this place as well as how high-quality of the beer they have.

We stopped in, just to have drinks. It was fine. The waitress took care of us immediately. The beer was cold and the service was good.

This bar has a wonderful selection of craft cocktails. All the cocktails were super fun and festive in celebration of st. paddy's day. I love the rustic vibe and felt like i was transported to an irish tavern. The best spots in the house were in front of the fireplace or upstairs next to the window.

Not very assuming entrance but the inside was nicely decorated and had seating for various group sizes and a bar. My party came here for drinks and bread pudding. Waitress was nice and friendly and bread pudding was a little too dense but it was warm and came with whipped cream and caramel. Their menu looks good so I would like to come back for corned beef or shepherd's pie.

Came here on a friday night and there was 0 wait! Lots of seating upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs has seats with a view of downtown. Had a large group of 10. Service was great! Beers were good. My corned beef sandwich was ok, but people loved the shepherds pie and beef stew. Nice casual vibes.

Fun Irish pub with everything you would expect. Good Irish food and drink and a lively crowd with attentive waitstaff. Had a Guinness and the Shepherds Pie. Hard to screw up a Guinness and the pie was very good.

We stopped in for a quick dinner and sat at the window in upstairs so we could look out on the street. It was great. Our server, Leigh, was very friendly and helpful despite us being the only people she had come upstairs to wait on. I got the Tito's touchdown drink and it was delicious. Our scotch egg was large and yummy. Fish and chips were also delicious but my bacon blue cheese burger was just okay. The meat tasted gamey to me.

Enjoyed the fish and chips for dinner and really liked sitting inside. It was cozy and had a nice pub vibe with a cool bar and Irish music playing. They had large TVs with the baseball game on too. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly so didn't wait long at all. The food was hot and obviously freshly made. The tartar sauce was lemony and unique. Would recommend if you want some pub food or drinks!

Our group was surprised as is was 2115, it's been open for about an hour and a half and packed. As you enter this old law office down a staircase one would find the "speakeasy statutes/rules" to maintain the 1920s atmosphere-- we loved the setting, the people, the drinks, and of course the live music!! One would not be disappointed. The cocktail menu was on an old record, which I thought it was so clever. Back to the rules, seems pretty easy! They mention to keep an open mind with the drinks as they do not carry vodkas, redbull, Budweiser or bulls**t. Mentioned a dresscode, more so be classic and states be respectful and don't be a di*k. I couldn't agree more with the rules. I don't think there is good at this establishment, as our group just came from dinner I wasn't looking for food. Just spirits, live music and a good time. Highly recommend if you are looking for live music and uniquely crafted cocktails.

A sponsor had rented out the whole place and all drinks were comped with food being passed around. We had cuban sandwiches and empanadas, which I think were all from the Havana restaurant upstairs. Food was great! Drinks were good, but the menu was so confusing to me. I didn't really like how they categorized them. Sometimes I feel like just being straightforward is better. Too cute with trying to do the prohibition/speakeasy menu. It did take a while to get drinks when it was packed. Understandable. But I had a few that were good, the boats and hoes, and keffir lime tequila drink were great. I would say that the bathroom had a bit of a stink to it...not sure what it was but smelled just like coming up from the pipes. May just be a basement issue. Overall, good experience. It didn't feel super special but just like any other speakeasy. I like False Idol better in terms of overall vibe.

Came here for a Birthday dinner last Saturday night with a large group (~20+ people), the food and…read moredrinks were amazing and can't say enough how much I appreciate the staff and service here. Ruby was the first person I spoke with when I initially called, and she was lovely. The general manager Amber made planning easy - there were no deposits or minimums, I was able to order platters in advance, and she was great with communication. When I mentioned that the group loved Rumplemintz shots, Amber even set some aside after ordering extra bottles (and had it cold and ready when we came in). I was able to meet and thank Amber after we first came in, and she was so warm and welcoming and even gave us a few Rumplemintz shots on the house to kick things off (thank you again, Amber!). The reviews don't lie in terms of how good the food here is. When we arrived a little early, they had our platters ready almost immediately and kept them well-heated. We had platters of the sticky garlic wings and a mix of the garlic and regular fries, and ordered pretzels and queso and the elote dip à la carte for the tables. Everything was amazing and the sticky garlic wings and garlic fries were such a hit that we ordered a few extra plates of them as well (even though the platters were perfect for our group size). EVERYONE raved about them. We had a small amount left to bring home that were enjoyed the next evening and were still amazing after being reheated. A few people in our party got additional food items as well (burgers) and they were hits as well. The drinks were also phenomenal, with a special shoutout for the espresso martini and the Purple Haze mocktail (that a few folks liked so much they got an alcoholic version). We had a person in our group who can't drink and it was nice to see how inclusive they are with having a few signature mocktail options. The pricing was very reasonable, especially for the platters (they were perfectly sized, and we only ordered a little extra because the food was so good and we'd wanted to take some home). Highly recommend getting platters with a larger group here - you can pre-order and they keep everything well-heated for you the whole time. Most importantly, this place is a vibe and every single staff member we interacted with was SO KIND and accommodating. The service was top-notch and I wish I had everyone's names to thank them individually (thanks to everyone working Saturday, 8/1 evening!). We had the best time and Werewolf couldn't have been a more perfect place to host a Birthday dinner.

Great recommendations, super genuine and fun, had the best energy and was CONSTANTLY checking in on us; however, a couple of the other workers could have been a little bit more open with communication. We were sitting against the window at the high top wraparound bar tables (feels like an extension of the bar), so the bar is easy to order from and was our go to as soon as we arrived. The bartender took our order, but was standoffish as if we were doing something foreign or a big "no no". Finally the server in charge of our area told us that the bartenders are in charge of the bar and there are other servers for all the other tables/zones. If we were told that from the beginning, we would have made sure to follow the order of the place and order from the correct server. A few of us truly felt bad, but now we know when we go in next time what to expect. Barleymash is always a great time, so we always want to make sure we are doing it right! I truly recommend sitting anywhere else but that window/wall on a packed night, but sometimes you have to deal with what you are lucky enough to get!
