This is another local hit or miss spot. Anytime we order from the Chinese part of the menu the food is so greasy and full of oil. I like that we have vegetarian options, but when my vegetables are soaked in oil it takes away from the experience. I would recommend their sweet and sour wings, jerk wings, seafood alfredo, or the jerk chicken alfredo. Those are the dishes that you can't go wrong with. And I haven't had a bad experience with ordering those. Not much customer service. But that's just typical with West Indian restaurants unfortunately. read more

I started eating at Henrica's about 4 years ago. The food used to be good but it went down hill over the years. I always order the oxtail lunch special while I'm at work. Sometimes it's really good, sometimes it's horrible. Big chunks of tough dry oxtail (even when I requested extra gravy), overcooked rice, with no plantains. One day I decided to switch it up. I ordered curry shrimp, or so I thought. When I opened the bag I was so confused! They gave me white rice in a container and jumbo shrimp floating in light yellow broth! Just absolutely horrible! I called to complain to the manager only to be told they weren't in and would return my call. That never happened. The lunch special oxtail meal used to be $7.00. Now it's $9.25. How is that a lunch special??? And the food is not worth an additional $2.25. The delivery service is terrible! Again, I order from Henrica's for lunch, at work. My break is at 1. I always call around 12:20 because I know they take forever. Even that doesn't work! The guy always showed up 1-2 hours after I call. Once I had to cancel after waiting 2.5 hours. My last straw with them was after my card was charged a different amount than what it was supposed to be. Come to find out, the delivery guy had the nerve to fill in the "tip" part of my receipt even though I gave him a cash tip! I spoke to Dean initially about it. He told me to call back on Monday because it was the weekend and he needed time to go through the receipts. All of a sudden, he was never available. I am a foodie, I know and appreciate good food. With this place, I would say eat at your own risk. And pay with cash! read more

the delivery takes over an hour so I suggest calling in and picking up my food was ready in 15 minutes when I did this. I love the side order of fried coconut shrimp may I say delicious . I order a side of mac n cheese plantains with oxtail. I made a reservation that included my name, phone number, date & number in my party for Saturday, 5/11/19. When we arrived, we were turned away because there was no room for us. We were told Mary Kay meets the first Saturday of the month but "something " happened & they were there on 5/12. Well, why was my reservation taken the first place?? Why wasn't I called??? Waited 2 hours to get the food and it was mediocre at best. The lobster wasn't even real. The shrimp was ok. The pasta was good. Couldn't get any of the drinks that I originally wanted but the alternative was very good still. But still, 2 hours to get our food was a bit much. read more

Henrica is my go to for Jamaican food in Queens. The serving sizes are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious.

The food is the perfect fusion of Asian and Jamaican. The Curry Shrimp is delicious, and I could fill up easy on the Cod Fish appetizer!

Every other Friday they run out of carrot juice, or dessert, and they cancel Uber eats orders as well. It's as if a busy Friday it's a surprise to them. Their food is good but their service is terrible. TERRIBLE! Go early on a Tuesday if you want good food from them. I visited this establishment for take out. I placed two orders of shrimp . One order was curry shrimp and the other butter shrimp. As I stated this was a take out order. Once I reached my house and opened the carry out container with my curry shrimp I discovered a long piece of hair!!! A long piece of red weave hair in my curry shrimp. The total amount of $28.31 for both shrimp diners was a total waste!! I ended up throwing the food out naturally after losing my appetite from the strand of hair. I felt inclined to contact the establishment to advise them of the hair and suggested that they do better. Instead of an apology I was told that no one there has "red hair"!! We had a birthday party for Dad. They accommodated us. I gave them a five. They had a band on Friday. The band played reggae & SOCA, Everyone started to dance so again I give the\ band a 5. The lead singer came to the birthday tables, (3 people had birthdays). She serenade everyone individually. One waitress for our party (23 people) however once the food was being served they assigned her a helper. There was no wait. The appetizers were generous portion and good, jerk chicken, stamp and go (codfish ball), ribs and mozzarella sticks. You could actually eat dinner from the starter menu. Drinks were price to sell. Many drinks on the menu for $5.00. I gave the food 4 Stars. Why, because as an native of the Islands we always find fault with the food, if its not cooked the way we would cook it. Its a local spot, not fancy but nice. You can take your grand parents or children, for dinner, very comfortable and accommodating. Not bad had their jerk chicken and oxtail. The jerk chicken was very bland. It really tasted like wood. The of tail was delicious and came off the bone easily. Went to this establishement for the FIRST time after I heard a few nice reviews. Was actually excited to taste their food. Was there at 8:15 pm on a Monday and there was only a handful of people there and only ONE employee serving the entire restaurant. Sat down and watched this one employee pass us at the table several times in a span of 10 minutes until I made contact with him, asking was he the only one here, he replied yes. My wife praised me for choosing such a wonderful venue and our 15 guests had positive comments about the great service they received. The meals were well prepared and wonderfully arranged complementing both sight and taste.The salads, Codfish balls, curry goat, sweet and sour wings, jerk chicken, salmon and rice and peas were some of the best I have ever tasted; many thanks to the chef. We were served a refreshing fruit punch beverage which I had 2 and a half glass of, it was that good. The staff members were professional and there plesant attitude helped to portray the theme of love I intended for our special day. Restroom was in proper working order well sanitized and all the necessary services were provided there. Just had dinner here with my family for my birthday and I have to say this is hands down one of the best experiences I've had in a long time ! We were seated immediately and then our server came over to take our drinks . We told him it was my birthday and he went on to order a drink for me and my husband which we both loved. The food came out shortly after and was delicious and the portions were huge leaving us with a lot to take home . The highlight of the evening was when we asked for the check and our server and hostess came out with a slice of cake with fireworks ! I had no idea they planned this (neither did my husband ). We've had many experiences where you go out to eat on your birthday and have to request for the staff to sing to you but they came out and celebrated me all on their own. I am appalled by the entire take out order experience. We called in the order in advance and waited 30 minutes before heading out the door. Once we went to picked up the order and paid via credit card, we were told there was no stew chicken. Ten minutes later, we were told there was no curry chicken. After reluctantly substituting, paid an additional $1 for oxtail, one of the two available options. I waited an additional 42 minutes to get my order. Once I arrived home my food was cold, the curry goat was full of fatty pieces, and the sweet and sour jerk chicken was literally two pieces of chicken drowning in sauce which spread to my entire dish, which went in the trash. In addition why would you put cold toss salad in the container with hot food. After speaking with the manager I was instructed that I had to request it be separated, how would I know this since this option was not offered when I placed my order. Do yourself a favor and do NOT order delivery. I ordered my food 3 HOURS AGO!!! and it has yet to come. I was informed when i placed the order that they were backed up, and delivery would take 60-90 mins. How that turned into 3 hours i don't know??! And i was not informed of the delay until after i called multiple times. I find that unacceptable. Why bother offering delivery service at all. read more
