¥¥¥ 2026 review #1 ¥¥¥ We were invited to attend a special event at Vibrato tonight. Impeccable service. Amazing drinks! Elegant Espresso martini and delicious appetizers: colossal coconut shrimp, tuna tacos, fillet mignon skewers, lamb chops. Bellies happy, ready for the entertainment hour. Can't wait for the reception after!

Refined dining, intimate jazz, and exceptional service I surprised my boyfriend with dinner at Vibrato Jazz Grill for his birthday and a job celebration, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. Parking was easier than expected (shopping plaza, valet available). The venue is intimate, which elevates both the service and the live music. We caught the Louis Cruz Beltrán Latin Ensemble, and they were excellent--polished, soulful, and perfectly matched to the room. Our server, Thyme (T-H-Y-M-E), was exceptional--warm, attentive, and spot-on with recommendations. Service was seamless all night. Food and drinks delivered. The 14-oz ribeye was cooked beautifully, and the Chilean sea bass with spinach risotto and lemongrass sauce was elegant and well balanced. We started with bruschetta and a wedge salad, both solid. The Old Fashioned, served with a "V" etched into the ice cube, was a classy detail. Yes, it's a splurge (our bill was just over $400), but the atmosphere, live jazz, quality cuisine, and top-tier service made it worth it. Closer: Vibrato Jazz Grill is a complete experience--thoughtfully executed and ideal for a special night out.

This was my first time to Vibrato and it was wonderful. We had reservations at 6:15 for dinner so we could have time to order our meal since the show started at 7:00. We shared the Parker rolls which were very soft and buttery. I had the halibut with the miso rice. It was delicious. It was perfect specially if you want a light meal. I had also a side of spinach. The jazz band was amazing. I had a great time. It totally worthwhile the drive. Vibrato is located in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking.

First time going to this venue. Very nice! Was not expecting it to be located in a small shopping center but once we opened the door, it was a whole vibe. Very quaint. Bar right when you walk in. Lots of seating. Live music everyday of the week. No bad seat in the place. You can pay for a table but it does not include your meal, or you can sit at the bar. Food was very good and tasty, drinks were very refreshing. Service was amazing. Very friendly and attentive. Noise level as you can imagine is high due to the performances. Parking lot, valet, as well as street parking. Definitely will be coming back to this place. $$$$

My friends and I were invited to Vibrato Grill for a Christmas eve outing and it was such a spectacular experience!! This location offers valet parking but is in a plaza with ample parking so parking was breeze. We got tickets in advance to sit at the bar because we were a group of 6. While walking it into the venue I felt like I was transported to a different era and was really happy we al got dolled up! Our bartender's name was AC and all the cocktails she made were absolutely exquisite! I ordered the "a beautiful friend" lychee martini and the "fandango" lemon basil martini. I loved them. My friends in the group raved about the old fashions they ordered. I was so enamored with this sophisticated and upscale atmosphere, even their restrooms were elegant! AC, our bartender was attentive and super sweet. The menu looked amazing, I am a vegetarian so I was very thrilled to see they had more than one option for me. I ordered the agnolotti with cafe de paris sauce. I don't like mushrooms and asked for no mushrooms with the dish. The description of this dish had marbled plant-based steak and I was very intrigued. My only criticism about this dish was that the plant based steak was red extremely salty and I did not enjoy my dish. I did not send it back because I was enjoying the experience, service, and drinks but I would definitely opt to try a different vegetarian dish next time!

I went for my first time Sunday night. I can't believe what an incredible places is. I love the ambience. I also find the location. Interesting. At the top of Mulholland above Los Angeles. Nestled in a very quiet neighborhood. The food, the atmosphere, and of course, the music. WOW! I can't wait to go back. Let me say that the appetizer of four baby lamb chops was incredible! My friend had the lamb touch and loved it. My other friend had a steak, and what else can I say except it was amazing. I was full from the lamb chops and the Hamachi appetizer. The chef brought to our table. I ordered spaghetti, squash appetizer, and it was more than enough food! And then we shared for desserts. What a great evening! I can't wait to go back.

Had a terrific anniversary dinner and show at Vibrato, where everything was handled with grace and friendliness, from the Host to our server and all the support staff. Kudos to everyone for knowing how to create a fine dining experience at one of L.A.'s last true supper clubs. The dark room with muted lighting and soft music playing upon entry automatically transports you away from the thrum of Los Angeles and back to a more elegant time. My wife enjoyed a lovely espresso martini while I treated myself to a top shelf bourbon. For starters, my wife had the Cali Caprese Salad, with a creamy burrata enveloping fresh tomatoes and topped with a duo of sauces, pesto and balsamic. My own starter was from the daily specials menu: Wagyu Tartare Crostini. The beef tartare was cool and fresh and packed with flavor, delicately creamy without leaning into the area of too much of an aioli feel. Really very, very good. For my entree, I stayed with the specials menu and ordered the Crab Stuffed Lobster Tail, which truly was stuffed (piled high, really) with tasty lump crab meat. The lobster meat itself was very sweet and perfectly cooked underneath the generous serving of crab. The Bernaise sauce accompaniment added an enjoyable pop to the crab meat, though I would have also liked a bit of drawn butter to use when I got to the lobster -- but that's a very, very minor thing. My wife ordered also from the specials menu, an A5 Wagyu Strip Steak that was melt-in-your-mouth perfection... she said it was the best steak she'd ever eaten. I stole 2 tastes of the steak: one by itself (excellent) and one with a dollop of my crab (an indulgent, unforgettable bite). And yes, we did receive a lovely anniversary dessert: a most enjoyable chocolate eclair that was a light topper after such a rich meal. Add in a fantastic show from UK swing Band, The Jive Aces, and we had a very memorable celebration. Thanks to all the folks at Vibrato for keeping this style of evening alive and well in Los Angeles... Bravo!

Our second visit, still really did not disappoint. This place is really beautiful. First our host, they are amazing. Second, the food was really good also. And lastly but not the least, jazz band on this night was fantastic... i love the positive interaction with the audience. Overall its a great place to celebrate any especially occasions or even just for the night of fun. i would really definitely comeback again and recommend this place.

We visited this place for our friend 50th birthday last night. We thought we were going to be listening to jazz but last night was more yacht rock than jazz. We still had a good night. We had a good dinner I had the Cesar salad with grilled chicken and we ordered the steak both pretty tasty. Drinks were good and strong. Espresso martinis were good too.

You don't have to be a jazz guru to know the name Herb Alpert. Alpert is a Grammy award-winning musician, producer, songwriter, conductor, fine artist, the A in A & M Records and the list goes on and one. He is a living legend, icon and probably a god. He is also the owner (alongside his adult daughter) of Vibrato: a jazz supper club in the Beverly Crest neighborhood of Los Angeles. We are THAT lucky in Los Angeles to have a spot owned and managed by the Alperts (in fact, my waiter told me Herb himself STILL visits to check in on things periodically!). So what is the magic of Vibrato? Allow me to introduce you... Vibrato is located on Beverly Glen near the top of Coldwater Canyon/Mulholland in a small plaza-shopping center that is reminiscent of Brentwood Gardens. Parking is available but can fill up fast (especially with the other businesses sharing the lot) so you may have to opt for valet. From the outside, Vibrato looks like a 'regular' restaurant but the second you step through those doors; you are transported to the Golden Age of Hollywood hanging out with the Rat Pack or with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in "La La Land" if you're of a younger generation. The venue is medium-sized with floor dining, a stage, bar and upper mezzanine seating. Vibrato oozes romance and smooth jazz even before you hear a music note played; and a dark ambiance with colorful lights twinkling among the beautifully dressed crowd. It is sex, it is Hollywood, it is AMAZING! I was OBSESSED the second I sat down. Vibrato has a unique set-up: you must pay a cover to make a reservation (about $34/person) for the performance and, in addition, each person must order a $45/menu minimum and the food and drinks are PRICEY! Vibrato is not budget-friendly (but so worth it). You can opt to eat at the bar which means there is no $45/ menu minimum. Weekdays have one set performance/dinner while F/Sat/Sun have two. We were greeted by Matthew who was super patient with our lag on picking menu items (sorry! I was distracted by the amazing-ness!) Vibrato has a very extensive and curated alcohol menu but we started with a "Lollipops & Roses" cocktail (strawberry gin, prickly pear puree, lemon juice, prosecco, rose crystals - $22) and a 1980 Old Fashioned (bourbon, maple syrup, angostura bitters, lucardo cherry  w/extra cherries - $22). The drinks were beautifully presented and meshed the glitter of Hollywood with the smooth class of jazz. Both drinks were divine and NOT light on the alcohol yet still in perfect ratio of all the flavors. Sooo smooth! For starters, we chose Seasonal oysters ($30) and Filet Mignon Skewers (onions, peppers, sriracha aioli, soy glaze, chili and chive oil - $28). Let's talk about these oysters because honey: they were perfection, heaven, buttery with those accoutrements... sinful! The Filet Mignon Skewers is no less fantastic with quality steak perfectly cooked and sauces that took it over the top. I could have only eaten these and been done but there was more! For dinner, I went with the New Bedford Scallops (sunchoke puree, pickled onions, pickled mustard seeds, pea coulis, citrus supremes - $58) while my dining partner chose the Alaskan Halibut (jasmine rice, Thai coconut miso, mango, pineapple, chive, cilantro - $59) and Jumbo Asparagus side to share ($20). I cannot sufficiently describe the elegance of the artful plate presentation but it just adds to untouchable level that Vibrato is vibrating on (see what I did there). My scallops were large and in charge, melt-in-your mouth, the sunchokes were tender, the flavors magnificent. The Halibut was also too good for words with unique flavors and the artichokes perfectly al dente. For desert I sobered up with an Affogato (vanilla and coffee ice cream, candied cocoa nibs, espresso - $18): an elevated affogato that is on-brand with Vibrato and ends the night with a kiss. The house performing band was wonderful mixing classic and modern hits in a jazz and swing style alongside some original tunes. Their talent was the perfect accompaniment to the orgasmic food. The staff is also top-grade at Vibrato from the Lisa Loeb-looking hostess (hey, my new bestie!) to the busboys who refill water continuously to Matthew who humored me with lovely conversation. Well done! Sidenote: ladies, even the bathroom is beautiful and spacious! I truly cannot convey the magnificence of Vibrato and do it justice. It oozes sensuality and doesn't miss a beat with food, drink or staff.  But you can't expect anything less from Herb Alpert. Is Vibrato expensive? Yes - but SO worth it even just once! Vibrato is literally now one of my top 3 favorite LA spots and I will shout it from the rooftops. If you want a romantic evening filled with jazz, culinary masterpiece food and drink, wonderful customer service and memories you will never forget; you MUST try Vibrato.

Ask the Community - Vibrato Grill Jazz

What are the best seats at vibrato jazz club?

I like 2 seating options: the side by side banquets on the main floor, and the tables adjacent to the bar (because they offer an unobstructed view of the stage, like sitting front row mezzanine at theater). But in the end, any table in the main room… Read more

Do you need to be over 21?

    No, even kids are welcome.

Can you make same day reservations?

If they are not sold out, yes.

When you make a reservation. Can you request a table, or do they place you wherever?

Reservations are made for specific sections, but you can't choose your table in that section. Maybe you can request it in the notes?

If we don't want to have dinner with our dinner reservation, can we have a few drinks instead to reach the $45 minimum per person?

Yes. It is encouraged but no one is really forcing the full $45 per person. Just order a few things and you should be ok

Where is the best place to sit to be close to the stage?

On the floor most definitely. We sat on the floor booth seating so you're facing the stage.

I have a reservation for 4 Thursday, can 2 be seated and order a bottle f wine meanwhile the other two arrive?

Yes, the entire party does not need to seated for you to begin ordering.

What's the difference between the regular dinner reservation and the balcony dinner reservation?

The balcony dinner reservation is upstairs, on the second level. The regular dinner reservations are for the ground for and banquette area, on the first level.

    Is this place 21+?

Vibrato is for all ages! However, you do need to be 21+ if you plan on sitting at the bar area.

However, I felt that the overall food selection and execution fell below my expectations. We started off strong with the banana milk and the flower sour cocktails followed by Korean Aguachile and Chilled Acorn Noodle (도토리국수, dotori guksu) for appetizers. Then came the main entrees, Bluefin Tuna Bibimbap and Steak Tartare in a Stone Pot. The bibimbap didn't feel like a well conceived dish as the large thick pieces of tuna, large cut perilla and lettuce leaves, large purple radish slices, unseasoned rice needed something else to bring it all together. The steak tartare felt flashy and lost in its expression of Korean heritage. The steak was outwardly cooked by the hot stone bowl but still raw inside, creating an unappetizing texture of ground beef strings as if it were just out of the meat grinder. We finished the night well with a Hotteok a la Mode. I'm hoping that The Mulberry will revamp their main entree menu in the future, but I probably wouldn't revisit in the near future. Online reservations are definitely needed. Street parking is limited as usual on Sawtelle. Valet parking is available. 20% tip is already included in your check. Service was very attentive and warm.

The cocktails were delicious and they were definitely more items on the menu we want to come back and try with friends so that we can sample more dishes. Other tables had ordered their crispy tuna appetizer and mains which looked delicious

Even though the restaurant was busy, we were seated quickly and immediately offered our choice of water, which was a nice touch and set the tone for a great evening. Our server, Daniel, was fantastic. He introduced himself, shared a little about the restaurant, and made us feel welcome right away. After taking our drink order, he was incredibly knowledgeable and helped guide us through the menu with excellent recommendations. We started with the octopus appetizer, which was absolutely outstanding. My fiancée couldn't try it due to some spice allergies, but I can honestly say it was one of the best octopus dishes I've had. For our entrées, she ordered the duck and I had the New York steak--both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Verse delivered a truly memorable dining experience, and we can't wait to come back. One more shoutout to Daniel for providing such outstanding service and making our first visit even more enjoyable!

From the moment we pulled up to valet to checking in for our reservation, everything felt smooth and elevated. We got seated right away and our server, Roger (I think that was his name), immediately set the tone for the evening. He gave us a great rundown of the menu and the concept of the restaurant, which made the experience feel more personal and immersive. We started with the Hokkaido milk buns and wow... that brown butter was dangerously addicting. Soft and almost mousse-like with the perfect balance of sweetness and salt. I could honestly eat that by itself. The buns themselves were delicious too, though I do wish they served them piping hot like the bread at Texas Roadhouse or Lucille's Smokehouse. The yellowtail crudo was incredible. Super fresh, melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the chips added a nice crunch while the fruit brought a bright, robust flavor that paired beautifully with the fish. Easily one of my favorite dishes of the night. A friend of my friend happened to be working there that evening and surprised us with the kale sprouts. Funny enough, we had literally just been debating whether to order it. It turned out to be such a great dish -- smoky, crunchy, and packed with flavor. The raisins added a really nice touch of sweetness. We ended up saving some of it to eat alongside our entrees and it paired perfectly. My friend ordered the dry-aged branzino and it was excellent. Crispy skin on the outside while the fish stayed soft, juicy, sweet, and savory inside. The Oaxacan mole felt like such a bold choice but somehow worked beautifully with the dish. And that burnt sweet potato? So soft and flavorful it practically melted in your mouth. I went with the dry-aged duck breast and loved every part of it. It came with pommes aligot layered with duck au jus and fermented black bean underneath, which sounded unexpected but tasted amazing together. Rich, savory, unique, and comforting all at once. The potato pave was another standout -- crispy on the outside, tender and rich on the inside. Absolutely delicious. Everything about the night was memorable: the atmosphere, the music, the food, and the service. Verse is definitely one of those places that stands out from the usual dining scene. We didn't have time to stay for dessert since we had another engagement afterward, but honestly that just gave us another reason to come back.
