10 Stars! This was my first time and definitely not my last time enjoying Virbrato. Food, drinks, service, music and ambience were all top tier . I'm still dreaming about the skewers and the stuffed lobster tail. At this point I dont care who is performing because I know it will be a treat. See again and soon Virbrato!

We had the best time! The show was a 10/10! One of our favorites now Elliot Deutsch's Pandemonium Big Band. We will be keeping an eye out for a return with them on stage. So fun and we were so surprised that the volume of the bad was comfortable throughout the night even though we sat close to the stage! As for the dining, I very much enjoyed my lobster and shrimp tagliatelle. Large portion, savory, rich and flavorful, without being overly heavy. We LOVED the lamb lollipop appetizer (they are memorable) be sure to order them! Plus the truffle fries! I was in the mood for a snack and again, the portion and flavor did not disappoint! Service is so attentive and welcoming. Will be coming back.

Beautiful dining room and the booths felt cozy. The semicircle design made the sound feel like it was a larger space. The musical artist selection is so diverse. It is definitely a reason to come back again and again to experience different genres. The service was very good and the food was excellent. The shrimp cocktail really stood out because the shrimps were huge and meaty so much I couldn't finish my seabass entree. The menu had something for everyone, including vegan options. I'll be back again to listen to some good music and sip delicious stiff cocktails.

¥¥¥ 2026 review #1 ¥¥¥ We were invited to attend a special event at Vibrato tonight. Impeccable service. Amazing drinks! Elegant Espresso martini and delicious appetizers: colossal coconut shrimp, tuna tacos, fillet mignon skewers, lamb chops. Bellies happy, ready for the entertainment hour. Can't wait for the reception after!

This was my first time to Vibrato and it was wonderful. We had reservations at 6:15 for dinner so we could have time to order our meal since the show started at 7:00. We shared the Parker rolls which were very soft and buttery. I had the halibut with the miso rice. It was delicious. It was perfect specially if you want a light meal. I had also a side of spinach. The jazz band was amazing. I had a great time. It totally worthwhile the drive. Vibrato is located in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking.

First time going to this venue. Very nice! Was not expecting it to be located in a small shopping center but once we opened the door, it was a whole vibe. Very quaint. Bar right when you walk in. Lots of seating. Live music everyday of the week. No bad seat in the place. You can pay for a table but it does not include your meal, or you can sit at the bar. Food was very good and tasty, drinks were very refreshing. Service was amazing. Very friendly and attentive. Noise level as you can imagine is high due to the performances. Parking lot, valet, as well as street parking. Definitely will be coming back to this place. $$$$

Refined dining, intimate jazz, and exceptional service I surprised my boyfriend with dinner at Vibrato Jazz Grill for his birthday and a job celebration, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. Parking was easier than expected (shopping plaza, valet available). The venue is intimate, which elevates both the service and the live music. We caught the Louis Cruz Beltrán Latin Ensemble, and they were excellent--polished, soulful, and perfectly matched to the room. Our server, Thyme (T-H-Y-M-E), was exceptional--warm, attentive, and spot-on with recommendations. Service was seamless all night. Food and drinks delivered. The 14-oz ribeye was cooked beautifully, and the Chilean sea bass with spinach risotto and lemongrass sauce was elegant and well balanced. We started with bruschetta and a wedge salad, both solid. The Old Fashioned, served with a "V" etched into the ice cube, was a classy detail. Yes, it's a splurge (our bill was just over $400), but the atmosphere, live jazz, quality cuisine, and top-tier service made it worth it. Closer: Vibrato Jazz Grill is a complete experience--thoughtfully executed and ideal for a special night out.

We have been to Vibrato many times and it's always an incredible experience!!! The entertainment is always first rate, the food is delicious, the drinks are awesome, and the service is great!!! We always have the best time! I highly recommend Vibrato! Especially for special nights like bdays, anniversaries etc, And it's owned by the incredibly talented Herb Alpert and his wonderful daughter Eden and their family!

My recent evening at Vibrato Grill Jazz offered a refined blend of culinary craftsmanship and live performance, set within one of the more elegant jazz venues in the Los Angeles area. From the moment of arrival, the atmosphere establishes itself as both sophisticated and intimate. The room is thoughtfully designed, with warm lighting, tasteful décor, and acoustics that elevate the live music experience without overwhelming conversation. The venue strikes a careful balance--energetic yet controlled--making it equally suitable for a night of entertainment or a focused dining experience. A particularly memorable highlight of the evening was a visit to our table from Eden Alpert, daughter of Herb Alpert. She was gracious, engaging, and genuinely attentive, adding a personal touch that reinforced the establishment's commitment to hospitality at every level. The culinary program reflects intention and care. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, with clear attention to detail in both presentation and flavor. Execution in the kitchen is confident, and the overall quality of the food aligns well with the venue's upscale positioning. The wine list is well-curated and sufficient in scope, offering a range of options to complement the menu. However, pricing is notably elevated, with markups that may give even seasoned diners pause. A corkage fee of $50 per bottle is in line with the venue's premium positioning, though it further reinforces the importance of thoughtful wine selection for those mindful of value. Service throughout the evening was attentive and polished, contributing to a seamless flow from seating to service to performance. Staff demonstrated both professionalism and warmth, enhancing the overall guest experience. The live music remains the centerpiece--and rightly so. Performances are exceptional, supported by excellent acoustics that allow every note to resonate clearly throughout the space. It is this combination of sound quality, ambiance, and intimacy that continues to define the venue's reputation. In summary, Vibrato Grill Jazz delivers a compelling and well-rounded experience: elevated cuisine, engaging service, and outstanding live jazz in an elegant setting. While the wine pricing may lean toward the premium end, the overall experience justifies its standing as a destination for both dining and music enthusiasts alike.

My friends and I were invited to Vibrato Grill for a Christmas eve outing and it was such a spectacular experience!! This location offers valet parking but is in a plaza with ample parking so parking was breeze. We got tickets in advance to sit at the bar because we were a group of 6. While walking it into the venue I felt like I was transported to a different era and was really happy we al got dolled up! Our bartender's name was AC and all the cocktails she made were absolutely exquisite! I ordered the "a beautiful friend" lychee martini and the "fandango" lemon basil martini. I loved them. My friends in the group raved about the old fashions they ordered. I was so enamored with this sophisticated and upscale atmosphere, even their restrooms were elegant! AC, our bartender was attentive and super sweet. The menu looked amazing, I am a vegetarian so I was very thrilled to see they had more than one option for me. I ordered the agnolotti with cafe de paris sauce. I don't like mushrooms and asked for no mushrooms with the dish. The description of this dish had marbled plant-based steak and I was very intrigued. My only criticism about this dish was that the plant based steak was red extremely salty and I did not enjoy my dish. I did not send it back because I was enjoying the experience, service, and drinks but I would definitely opt to try a different vegetarian dish next time!

I had a great experience at Vibrato Grill Jazz. It's a beautiful jazz club with amazing acoustics and a perfect layout where every seat has a great view of the stage. They rotate bands daily, so there's always new talent and something fresh to enjoy. It's never the same band twice. The food and desserts were top notch, and it's a great spot for either a large group or a date. The waiters were very nice and accommodating, and everything flows really well overall.

Ask the Community - Vibrato Grill Jazz

Are there tables in the bar in addition to bar seating?

Only bar seats Table by the bar are for full dinner

What are the best seats at vibrato jazz club?

I like 2 seating options: the side by side banquets on the main floor, and the tables adjacent to the bar (because they offer an unobstructed view of the stage, like sitting front row mezzanine at theater). But in the end, any table in the main room…

Do you need to be over 21?

    No, even kids are welcome.

Can you make same day reservations?

If they are not sold out, yes.

We're visiting in mid June but all of June is marked unavailable to reserve on their site. Curious at what point June will open up for reservations via their site? Thanks

    May 1

When you make a reservation. Can you request a table, or do they place you wherever?

Reservations are made for specific sections, but you can't choose your table in that section. Maybe you can request it in the notes?

If we don't want to have dinner with our dinner reservation, can we have a few drinks instead to reach the $45 minimum per person?

Yes. It is encouraged but no one is really forcing the full $45 per person. Just order a few things and you should be ok

Where is the best place to sit to be close to the stage?

On the floor most definitely. We sat on the floor booth seating so you're facing the stage.

I have a reservation for 4 Thursday, can 2 be seated and order a bottle f wine meanwhile the other two arrive?

Yes, the entire party does not need to seated for you to begin ordering.

What's the difference between the regular dinner reservation and the balcony dinner reservation?

The balcony dinner reservation is upstairs, on the second level. The regular dinner reservations are for the ground for and banquette area, on the first level.

    Is this place 21+?

Vibrato is for all ages! However, you do need to be 21+ if you plan on sitting at the bar area.

Can I order a birthday song with jazz style? How much does that cost? just want a special birthday dinner

We went here for my birthday in December 2021. 3 other women in the restaurant that night also had the same birthday lol. One of the other women's dates let the singer know it was her birthday and she sang a jazzy version of happy birthday on stage…

    How are tables seating assigned?

First come first serve unless you have a large party. You may get better seating.

    Best parking options?

there is a sizable lot in the shopping center where vibrato is. they share a lot with a few other shops and a small boutique grocery store.…

Does they require proof of vaccination?

I would call and ask. They did not require masks or proof of vaccination when I went back in July, but I'm not sure if the rules have changed now. You can also look on their website or Resy to see what the requirements are. Hope that helps!

Is the cover charge per person or per reservation?

    Per person

Can you bring your own wine? What's the corkage fee?

From their website, as of 6/2025, "Our corkage fee is $50 per bottle. Magnums are $100. There is a maximum of two bottles allowed per table. If the wine you bring is on our wine list we charge the price on our wine list."

Is the Sunday brunch menu different than the dinner menu?

Hi! Yes our Sunday brunch menu is different.. The menu is available on our website: vibratogrilljazz.com

Is there a dress code? Can men wear sneakers?

The dress code is "LA Smart Casual". From the website: "It's something between what you might wear…

What is the parking like? Is it valet or self parking?

You can valet your vehicle or for a short walk you can self park for no charge inside the Plaza

I was instantly so glad we chose this spot to celebrate our anniversary because it was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Now, let's talk about the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, with the exception of the Korean aguachiles, which we probably could've skipped. We also tried the bluefin bibimbap, oysters, and the oh-so-tender short rib that practically melted in our mouths. But the most unforgettable dish was also the simplest: the Korean fried chicken. It wasn't necessarily something out of the ordinary, but it sure tasted like it. The perfect crisp, flavor, and seasoning had us eating every last piece right down to the bone. My friend and I ordered the soy marinated prawns, beef tartare stone pot rice, creamy chicken soup, Wagyu beef soft tofu soup. The prawns were nicely marinated in a slightly sweet slightly salty soy sauce, and came paired with some barley and seaweed to make mini wraps. Delicious and a nice way to start the meal. The creamy chicken soup was indeed very creamy and smooth but the bowl is really small and would've been better with a higher soup to noodle ratio since the noodles soaked up the yummy soup. The tofu soup was surprisingly bland even though it was very red. It could've used more umami flavor or spice - something to jazz it up since the tofu, egg, and beef itself were not seasoned. My favorite dish of the night was the steak tartare stone pot rice. It came with a lot of veggies that helped balance out the sauce and I'm a sucker for crispy rice. However, the rice itself wasn't seasoned thoroughly as some spots had absolutely delicious sauce while other spots were bland. And the sauce wasn't a part of the tartare on top so it wasn't a mixing issue. The staff are kind and attentive, even with us being tucked away in the back corner and hidden by a curtain panel.

The place is incredibly dirty. It feels like it hasn't had a deep clean in weeks, maybe longer. The bar top was disgusting, the floors were grimy, and even the woodwork looked like it hadn't seen a rag since opening day. They are charging $17 for "signature cocktails," which is bold for a spot that feels like a neglected dive bar. If you're going to charge premium prices, you have to at least wipe down the countertops. Service-wise, the bartender was friendly enough but low energy and minimal level of service. To make matters worse, a shift change happened while we were there, and the departing bartender made us close out our check and start a brand-new one with the next person. Why should the staff's administrative hand-off be the customer's issue? It's just unprofessional. This was my first experience with Vitello's Restaurant and their Velvet Martini Lounge. On Saturday…read morenight, a group of 7 of us took our friend here for her birthday, and booked our table in the Velvet Martini Lounge because she wanted to listen to the jazz. Mary was our server, and it started out promising, she greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. It went downhill from there. By the end of the night, the person refilling our water was the best service we got all night, because he came around regularly to check and refill our glasses. It seemed like because there were 7 of us, so she got an automatic 20% gratuity, she didn't think she had to work for her tips, but the service was appalling. Honestly, the room was only half full, so it wasn't even that busy. Service: We had a friend show up late, and it took a long time to get someone's attention to bring a wine and water glass for her. I kept trying to waive someone down, or hoped that Mary would come check in, but no such luck. When the food arrived, they just dropped off the food and left, they didn't asked if I or anyone at the table wanted pepper or parmesan for our dishes, or needed anything else. My friend sitting across from me finally got someone's attention that was walking by to bring some pepper, and after doing her plate, he didn't ask if anyone else at the table wanted any. So I stopped him from leaving and asked the table if anyone else wanted pepper or parm. Myself and another friend wanted parm, but we were half way through our meals before it came. We were at the end of the meal before Mary even came back to check back on us. We ordered another bottle of wine because all of our glasses were empty. Mary just brought it to the table, opened it and then walked off without refilling any of the glasses. For dessert, we ordered one dessert to share, but everyone decided we would do after dinner martinis. Mary took the order for 5 people at the table and left without taking my order or my friend's order for our martinis, so we end up having to wait until she came back with the other 5 martinis to order ours. Food: It was bland, underwhelming and overpriced. I ordered the chicken piccata. The capers were the only thing that gave it flavor, its a dish that I didn't think you could make tasteless. The noodles did not taste fresh, almost rubbery. There are so many Italian places around Los Angeles that are the same price or cheaper that have higher quality and better tasting food. I ordered a chocolate martini, and the alcohol wasn't too overpowering, and it tasted just like drinking a dessert. We ordered bottles of the Montepulciano that they had on their wine list, it was just okay, so if you are a wine person, then I recommend bringing your own bottle and just pay the corkage fee. Bill: They don't hand you the bill, which is a surprise for such a big group. They didn't give us the printed bill until we asked for it after paying. So when I checked it over, I was surprised that on top of the 20% automatic gratuity, there was also a 3.5% kitchen appreciation fee. Which I was told by the hostess as we were leaving you can ask to have removed before paying your bill. Doesn't seem like there is any transparency for that fee. It definitely felt painful to pay 23.5% in tips/fees for such appallingly bad service. Jazz: Saving grace for this place, that's the one star. Saturday night they had just a singer and a piano player. The singer's voice was beautiful and she took requests, so we requested La Vie en Rose before we left. She sang it in English vs. French, but she sang it beautifully. Vitello's has a great history, so if you are going to come here, then come here for the drinks and the jazz.

This place came up several times when I researched on great restaurants that have excellent vibes…read moreand great food. Although it didn't really necessarily show up as "the best food in LA area" but all the reviews were so good so I became curious to try. Mainly the reviews also raved about the vibes, services, and live music. Well, they were not wrong! It was fairly easy to make a reservation through Opentable, and I made a reservation for two people for my birthday dinner on Sunday night. I put on the notes that it's my bday so it'll be nice to get a nice table near the stage. I didn't have a high expectation, cos I'd never been to the place and I didn't make a call or anything. But wow, they definitely gave us a great table at the very front! As many reviewers had mentioned, the acoustic of the restaurant is really great. You can barely hear other people's conversations. There's a live jazz band playing, so you can really enjoy that. Although it made it slightly hard to hear what other nearby people say to you either, haha. Our server Dawson was a really great one! Very nice, very informative and just has a great vibe that made you feel comfortable to converse with him. We also asked if he could take a picture of us and he went above and beyond with taking our pictures haha. He took the table lamp as our additional "lighting". Such a great service! Dawson also made a few suggestions on food. We ordered the milk bun (so great!), the tiger prawns tostada (omg, my favorite of the night!), braised lamb pasta, pork belly risotto, and roasted broccolini. Everything was really good and really filled us up! We also got the "smokin old fashioned" and "Wake up and repeat" cocktails. It was plenty of food for us so we asked for a check. Dawson asked if we wanted a dessert but we were already full. He asked if it's ok to give us a lil treat for my bday. It was a really nice dessert :). Oh I forgot to mention that they also put a small bday card on the table for me. The prices of food and drinks are on the higher sides, but I feel like it's worth it due to the live music and the vibe. It easily covers the entertainment part. We definitely will go back and recommend this place for anyone who's looking into a nice date night or to celebrate something special. I was informed that Friday has more of a "party vibe" here, although it's still a jazz performance. Sunday feels more laid back :) Overall I'm really pleased by this place. I used to think that I don't care that much about excellent service as long as the food is great, but I was wrong. The excellent hospitality just made the night even better than expected. Thank you for making my bday dinner memorable.

This place was on my list and we happen to pop in at 5pm but reservations are highly recommended…read more It was a little difficult to find because it's just a door without any signs, but I saw the valet guy pop out so we figured it was the entrance. The usually have a live band after 7pm and the sound in the resturant is amazing. It's like a recording studio. The staff was very friendly! The decor and ambiance was also impressive. Definitely swanky but down to earth vibes. I got the rasberry beret cocktail and it was different but fabulous. Not sure how else to describe it. It was refreshing. We got the tiger prawns and it was presented as a toasta, which had a great flavor and texture. The apple salad was also refreshing and a good portion to share between 2 people. The broccolini was cooked perfectly and my favorite after the tiger prawns was the Dungeness crab pasta. It had uni on top! The uni elevated the dish, and honestly there were a good amount of crab meat in the dish. Overall well balanced and creamy. The 2 of us left full and satisfied. Highly recommend this place for a date night. There's also plenty of street parking when we went but there is also valet for $15.

I was so excited for…read moretwo of my favorite cuisines to come together in an intimate dance between the vibrant flavors of Mexico and the deeply complex taste of Japanese food. Here are some improvements that could be made: 1. I have no problem paying for a quality meal, but the prices were slightly off from what seemed adequate. 7 dollars for chips and salsa but 18 dollars for 4 yellowtail handrolls is just one of a few examples of an interesting price discrepancy. I will say the yellowtail handrolls were delicious! 2. Flavors and dishes on the menu were slightly misleading. We ordered the Osaka burrito but got a deep fried chimichanga, it was a little heavier than what was expected from the panko encrusted description (just put Osaka chimichanga). The tomatoes in the slaw were saved by their mango friends which balanced out the flavors enough to eat the entire dish. The abundance of salt in the tomatoes drew out too much moisture causing some unwanted sliminess, and made them so sad I felt obligated to sign them up for therapy. 3. The cauliflower dish is such a great idea, but the flavor of the cauliflower overpowered all of the other components of the dish. If the cauliflower were fried as much as the burrito was with a healthy amount of achiote seasoning, and the 4-6 pomegranate arils were actually a robust pomegranate sauce drizzled around the dish, it would be a 10/10 veggie plate. I will say on a positive note, the service was great, and the waiters were so nice when we were disappointed with the food. They took back our dish with no hesitation and took it off the bill no problem. If you are out on Sawtelle, looking for a good vibe, and don't mind opening up your mind to some new flavors, then Hermanito is a great option. It wouldn't be my first choice personally, but I would be open to going back if I was invited by some friends, or if they changed up their menu a bit.
