Have been to many performances here and it never disappoints. This past week was amazing watching Louie Vega, The Roots and Bob James!Easily my newer favorite venue in LA. The food is delicious, service is always on point and I'd like to especially thank Heaven up at the front for her exceptional customer service in the gift shop, her interactions are always so personable and it's awesome to know that Blue Note has employees born and raised in LA like myself! I've been meaning to write this review sooner, and now I've finally made the time. I went to the Slum Village show on Thursday night, (7pm show)and It was such a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!! I had never been to the venue prior to this show. The service is exceptional! Right when my girls and I got to the venue, we were greeted by the security guard. Jayden was so friendly and polite. Inside we were greeted and because there weren't many people inside we had our pick of seats. Our server, Pie, was amazing! Throughout the show she'd check in. I will definitely be back. read more

I came to Blue Note Los Angeles on a Wednesday night to see Slum Village at the 9:00 p.m. show. My friend and I were the first people in line, which earned us a front-row center table with a great view of the stage. The biggest downside of the evening was the beverage service. We placed our drink order around 9:05 p.m., but our drinks didn't arrive until almost 10:50 p.m., when the show was nearly over. Meanwhile, other guests seated at our table had already received their food and drinks. To make up for the delay, our server kindly brought us complimentary champagne, which was appreciated. I ordered the "Orange You're Beautiful" cocktail, but by the time it arrived, we had to rush to finish our drinks because the show was ending. They were also much stronger than expected. Since the venue has a $20 food and beverage minimum, it felt like a waste because we didn't really get to enjoy what we ordered. Despite the slow drink service, the seating was excellent, the atmosphere was intimate, and Slum Village put on a great performance. I'd definitely come back for another show, but I hope the bar service is much quicker next time. read more

My group of five drove nearly 2 hours from Irvine for the Monday 7 PM Omarion show. We arrived around 6 PM and were told the left side had the better view as the center seating was already full. The food, drinks, and service were great, but the experience was ruined by a cameraman standing directly in front of our section for much of the show, blocking our view of Omarion. For nearly $80 per ticket, this was unacceptable. If seats have obstructed views due to filming, Blue Note should disclose that upfront or have the cameraman move around. We came to watch Omarion, not the cameraman. Unfortunately, this experience makes me hesitant to return. read more

This legendary NYC Jazz brand has finally come to L MF A! I was so jazzed that one of my favorite DJ producers was performing at this new club. The space is an intimate atmosphere with the acoustics to match. There was a couple of hiccups during the show but nothing really major. There is a $20 per person food/beverage minimum. Seating is first come first serve so be prepared to line up if you want a front row table. They also have a small gift shop with merchandise of the artist that's performing that night as well as the clubs. A little FYI, if you're over six feet tall be warned it will be a little bit snug unless you're in the back section with the VIPs. The food is decent but not for the price. The performer I saw was Little Louis Vega and it was epic and from the regulars I was talking to all the shows are amazing because of how the club was built. Great music and very friendly staff, but the pricing transparency is a major issue. I purchased a table ticket and asked for a scotch and bourbon menu. I was told they didn't have one, and was instead shown options on a handheld card reader with no prices listed. I ordered a single shot of Glenfiddich 15, a solid everyday dram, but certainly not a rare top-tier bottle.I was shocked to be charged $60 for it. When I spoke to the manager, he claimed they buy the bottle for $190 and quickly dismissed the issue, though he did offer free tickets to a future show. I declined. Being half-Scottish, I know the value of a good dram and won't support an establishment that lacks price transparency. To be fair, the bartender and my server were really mice, and I gladly tipped 22% BY CHOICE to support them. I'd happily buy the staff a drink, just not at this bar :)) read more

Heard there was a new chef team and they did not disappoint. The food came out quick for our 7pm show - we ordered around 545pm and we were done eating by 615pm. The Soy Salmon was amazing, some of the best broccolini I've ever had. The cavatelli was so flavorful and beef ragu was beyond fresh. The Caesar salad did not disappoint. Great date night meal with plenty of bar drinks and wine to order. 10/10 recommend eating and supporting the staff at Blue Note. read more

Digable Planets | Yes, please! The group was amazing! Jazz Rap at its finest, as Butterfly, Ladybug Mecca, & Doodlebug took the stage! Their vibe was easily smooth and their lyrics flowed with ease! I love the interaction with the crowd as well! Good vibes all around & a whole lot of flavor! Inside | Elegant decor, moody lighting, and the velvet blue curtain stood front and center, as well as the stage set up with equipment for the musicians and recording artists!! There was a variety of seating areas! Some were right by the stage, others were at wide velvet chairs near the back, including seating at the bar! It's actually a large space, once you step inside! We selected a table right in front of the velvet chairs, which was perfect! Not too close to the stage, not too far, but just right! I would easily select the same seating again! Outside | We were met with blue velvet ropes, which fit the theme & name of the venue! We easily found parking at a meter nearby! Food & Drinks | Order $20 per person plus ticket price! Had a fabulous time at this club! I came on Tuesday, May 19th to see Tanerèlle with a friend. Show started at 7, doors opened at 5. We arrived ~6. That timing was perfect tbh We had ample time to get situated, validate our parking, order and devour our food without stressing about hurrying up for the show. The only way to experience this venue well is to get there early. Only issue with this place is the food, perhaps unsurprisingly, is very overpriced for what it is. I paid $40 for a salmon dish that resembled a dish I could easily make at home. Home. It was just salmon, mashed potatoes and broccolini. Nothing to write home about. And they pull world-class talent in such an intimate setting. I'm so grateful we have a jazz club like this in LA now. Will be back! read more

This has been one of our favorite spots since they opened in October/2025. Music is everything to my family. I'm not sure how you grew up but, with us, music was always involved in just about everything. The Good times and the bad times, from childhood to adulthood. That being said, when the Blue Note opened my wife basically went wild. At this point, I have to keep an eye on my calendar, because on any day I'll have a concert to go to. The spot is nice and intimate. With the stage being front and center, there's almost not a bad seat in the house. They offer a full service menu, with cocktails, appetizers and entrees. There's a 20.00 pp minimum for food and/or drinks. We go for the music not the food. I usually order a cocktail and fries. On the latest visit my wife had the Rosè Cenote and I went with the Blackberry Djinn. Pro tips: It's open seating (the host seats you based on how the venue is filling up) and shared tables. So if you want to be front and center you should get there early. The later you show up, the chances of you being a little towards the back is higher. But as mentioned earlier on, the place is small and intimate, so there's not really a bad seat. They also offer bar seating. Keep an eye on their calendar to find your favorite artists on their list. read more

They have a great sound system and the band sounds great. We watched Kota the friend last night and had an amazing time. The only thing is... we are PACKED in there. So packed together you can barely eat your food. Not so comfortable for people who are a little larger in size. The staff and service have always been top-notch! You feel very welcomed and taken care of. GREAT STAFF! Thank you guys for a great time and THE BEST ENTERTAINERS. The vibes at Blue Note Jazz Club are incredible! I lucked out and got tickets for Lizzo for my first experience at the venue. I already have tickets to another show. The room is intimate. It's a very cool place for live music, and their lineup consists of truly great musicians. The sound is pretty solid - I did put in earplugs since we were sitting a few feet from the drums. The options are table seating (I've seen a range from about $70-90 per person) and bar area (about $50-60 per person) which includes first-come first-served seats and a standing area. There is a $20 food/beverage minimum per person for both sections. We were a party of 2 with table tickets. We lined up at 8pm, about an hour before doors for the 9:30pm. There were only about 6 people ahead of us at that point. We thought it was worth going a bit early as we got to sit in the area right in front of the stage. The hostess asked us if we would like to be closer, and we said sure, not knowing that the closer tables are so close that they are touching the edge of the stage. It's almost too close! My neck was a bit stiff at the end from looking up. The tables touching the stage are tables of 6, and they do seat you with other parties to fill the space. It is pretty tight. There are more tables further back that look a tiny bit more spacious. There is also a section of table seating on the sides. I'm not sure how the views are from there. There are booths in the back that are reserved for friends and family. The bar area is in a back corner. The food and beverage menu has a pretty decent selection including appetizers, mains and desserts. I would love to see more non-alcoholic beverage options. I had the olive oil cake and bottled water. The cake was decent, not a standout. The restroom is clean and there is an attendant in there. Parking for the attached lot can be purchased for $18.80 in advance. When I pulled up, I saw a sign that said it was $20 to purchase there. There are also meters around. Overall, I really enjoyed the Blue Note experience and will happily return! I would give 4.5 stars if that were an option, mainly because it felt cramped for us, and I generally don't love food/beverage minimum requirements with a ticket purchase. read more

The venue is pretty small, but the sound packs a good punch, no complaints for that aspect. I saw Willow debuting her new album. There was a $20/person minimum, which was listed both on the ticket and the tables when you sat down. Seating was EXTREMELY cramped, you will be shoulder to shoulder with everyone at the tables so just be warned. The tables are also quite packed in there, it makes taking off your jacket or going to the bathroom quite difficult. Even the staff seems to have trouble walking through. I can't speak for the bar area seating, just general table seating. The view itself of the stage and Willow was pretty good, I was at the 2nd table back more centred which got me the views from my photos. I liked being that close it felt very private and personal, just wish a couple less people were there so it wasn't as packed. I ordered a non-alcoholic drink (The No-groni - $16) and a side of fries ($9). The drink was quite good, and the fries were average, nothing to write home about. The talent was excellent, and my salad was good, but the way they squeeze you in like sardines, is not comfortable. The seats are very close together and you definitely feel like you're in a relationship with everyone in the room because you have shared way more skin than you do on a normal basis with other people. I know they want to accommodate more people, but they should think about how many people they are putting in this room because it's slightly uncomfortable and not that easy to eat when your arm is touching someone else's arm. read more

Great Artist, Terrible Venue Experience!!! We paid extra to reserve waiter-service seats online, only to arrive and find out seating is actually first come, first served. Because of that, we ended up with seats where we couldn't see the stage and nobody warned us that not all seats have a view of the stage when booking. The service made it worse. It took nearly 20 minutes for anyone to take our drink order, and when the drinks finally came, they got them wrong. We ordered the harissa wings and instead received cold fries and plain, unsauced wings because they had already run out of harissa sauce. The wings have zero seasoning on it and they only option was ranch or ketchup. This was the FIRST show of the night. How do you run out of a signature menu item before the first seating even wraps up? Tobe was phenomenal and the only reason this night wasn't a complete waste. But the venue is poorly managed, the staff is disorganized, and the seat reservation system is misleading. If you're booking here, know that paying for reserved seats does not guarantee you can actually see the stage. For what they charge, this level of execution is inexcusable. Won't be back. read more

Turned out we had nothing to fear, as the sound system was incredible from every angle and the room feels pretty intimate. The food was surprisingly good. The venue is decked out with vibes that set the stage nicely for an intimate experience with your favorite jazz artist. What I wasn't expecting is how good the food is. I had the schnitzel and wife had the ragout. The schnitzel was perfect, crunchy, flavorful and totally hit the spot. The ragout was so tasty as well. For an appetizer we had the tuna tartar. This was our very first time at the Blue Note, and what an unforgettable night it turned out to be! My boyfriend bought our Charlie Puth tickets through a third-party site a little over a month ago, but we didn't actually receive them until the day before the show. It was nerve racking since the tickets said bar seating but had seat numbers printed on them. After reading tons of reviews (and checking Blue Note's own site), we found out that bar seating is actually first come, first served so heads up if you're planning to go! Charlie played two back-to-back shows, and we were lucky enough to attend the 7:00 PM performance. We arrived around 4:30 PM, and the line was already wrapped all the way to the back. Thankfully, my boyfriend asked security, and we learned that the GA/bar seating line and table line are completely separate, super helpful to know! While we were waiting, I noticed a kid in a cast holding a sign for Charlie to sign it. His mom told us he was a huge fan. The staff went above and beyond and moved him to the front so Charlie could see him. That small gesture from the Blue Note team melted my heart. We were inside by 5:00 PM and grabbed dinner before the show. A few reviews mentioned the food being pricey or just okay, but honestly, we really enjoyed our meal. Here's what we ordered: Spicy Valencia Almonds - great starter! Small portion but only $5, so just order a couple more if you're sharing. Endive Caesar Salad - light and refreshing! The dressing was minimal, so we requested extra, which made it perfect. Salmon - my order and absolutely delicious! Perfectly crispy skin and packed with flavor. Chicken Schnitzel - my boyfriend's order, and he loved it. Chocolate Mousse - sadly, a miss. Definitely skip this one. Everything else was fantastic, just skip dessert and you'll be golden. Charlie came on at 7:08 PM, and from the first note, we were completely mesmerized. His voice, his band, the intimacy of the venue, it was pure perfection! You're so close that you can see every expression, hear every breath, and really feel the music. It's a priceless experience you just don't get at big stadiums. Not just sick: we're talking coughing, sniffing to keep her nose from running sick. We're all checking on each other to inquire if we're ok! The place itself is packed but in a fun way. The layout could improve to allow everyone the view of the stage as opposed to the backs of performers' heads but overall, ok. Would I go again? Yes. I want to first say the entertainment is always first rate. The level of talent is amazing and the venue is so intimate every seat is a good view (but pretty cramped at the tables. I was blessed to see the legendary Sheila E. here the first time and sat right in front and was mesmerized watching her play the drums live and right in front of her and wow, what an epic experience. A true living legend. The second time I got a last-minute ticket to see Lizzo and she blew me away. She has a range of talent that is just incredible- and we got to see her play the flute masterfully! The ambiance has a really cool jazz lounge vibe, with blue lighting. But..Oh dear... I've been here twice and I had two very different experiences here. First was amazing second was sub par (for food and service). So unfortunately I was going to give this place a 5 but I will knock it down 1 star because my second visit frankly was a 3 for the dining. The first time impeccable food and service. And oddly I sat at the same exact table in the front both times. First time - Fast to order got the cavatelli with beef ragu which was highly recommended and the No-Groni (the non alcoholic Negroni) and both were spectacular. The pasta was a big portion and the sauce was rich and flavorful. I ate the whole thing! And I ordered multiple No-Gronis. The second time... our whole table waited 40 minutes when seated and still didn't have anyone come by to take our order and in the meantime everyone around us was already deep into their main courses and drinks. The gentleman next to me flagged down a manager to explain what happened and they were trying to get a host to help us but it seemed like a lot of confusion as it still took another 10 minutes for someone to come to help us - seems like there was a miscommunication on who was covering the table (which no one was). The hostess who helped us was very apologetic and took our orders right away. Drinks came quickly and they said they would expedite our order....but the food came in waves. Several of us were still waiting while others already had finished their food. I ordered the Eggplant Milanese and it's beautifully presented but feels like they take 3 fried eggplant pieces out of the frozen food section, overcook it, slap some canned tomato sauce on a plate and put arugula on top and charge $28 for it. A total rip off. I was so hungry at that point I ate it as I was fearful trying to get anything else would take forever. The gentleman next to me ordered the Chicken Milanese and he said it was hard as a rock. They did get him the salmon as he requested as a replacement but that also took forever, he barely got it before the concert started. When asked how my meal was I said it was just fine so it was nice that the hostess was willing to comp a dessert and I picked the warm olive cake and boy that was another big mistake. The cake was dry, felt store bought and warmed in the microwave. Ice cream was rock solid and when I finally tried it, there was an unpleasant smokey taste to it. Completely inedible. Thankfully it was "comped". So in summary... order the cavatelli. Avoid anything breaded or fried. Do not dare order dessert. I've been here twice, and both times the experience was disappointing. My first visit was for the MonoNeon with Chris Dave and Marcus King show set for 9:30 PM, and it started about 20 minutes late. The place was overcrowded and packed tight, and I was stuck at the bar with a view of the stage that sucked, partially blocked by the crowd. Tonight I'm here for Infinity Song, and it's more of the same. If you're sitting at table they require a $20 minimum order, which is frustrating because of my kidney and heart failure I can't order from their overpriced menu. I had the pleasure of visiting the blue note 3 times during opening week. Walking in you can see the intimate layout and how tight the tables are. There are several different areas to sit at depending on the ticket you bought and if you have a table reserved for you. Ive sat at the bar and also the tables so there are pros and cons to both seating areas. All seating for the most part is first come first serve. The exception would be if you are vip, or have a table reserved. So arriving early is imperative if u want the seat of your preference. Again seating can get tight so depending on where u sit , prepare to get bumped, or adjust your seat to accommodate your neighbor. Now because i attended during the opening week , the menu was limited to allow staff to adjust to the flow of things. I tried the Whipped Feta Appetizer with bread and the Salmon dish. The whipped feta was a hit and miss with the feta ranging from more a liquid consistency to an actual whipped texture as it was intended. I enjoyed the salmon , broccolini and wasabi mashed potatoes but it did take awhile to arrive at my table the both times I ordered it. The live shows I watched was nothing short of amazing and the sound was perfect to me . Special shout out to the bar staff, waitresses Michelle and Ahn(sorry if i misspelled it). Management were also really helpful, i truly did not encounter an unhelpful staff member. The bathroom is interesting, it is gender neutral. I believe there is a total of 6 oversized /accessible individual stalls . So don't get startled if u are washing your hands next to the opposite gender. There is also a bathroom attendant inside at all times. Overall, I enjoyed the blue note and i hope to change my review to 5 stars in the future once the kinks are worked out . The Blue Note Club Jazz Club definitely nails the vibe when it comes to atmosphere. The dim lighting and intimate setting make it feel like the perfect spot to kick off an evening. Seating is very tight, with tables packed closely together, but I have to give credit to the waitstaff--they move through the space with impressive skill. My sister and I lucked out and had a whole table to ourselves (though the tables are meant to seat eight). We attended the first show (8/20/25), scheduled for 7:00 pm. We arrived around 7:05, and the music hadn't started yet. At 7:25, Terrace Martin and his band came out, but to our disappointment, there was more talking than actual playing. By 7:45, Terrace brought out Kenyon Dixon, and the show wrapped up at 8:10--well short of the hour we were expecting. When we shared our disappointment, our server explained that shows are typically an hour, and with the 2nd show starting at 9:30, the venue needs time to reset. Unfortunately, that doesn't change the fact that the experience felt cut short and left us wanting more. When artists don't deliver the full show, it reflects poorly on the venue. As for food and drinks: it was a mixed bag. I ordered the endive Caesar salad and wings. The salad was bland and too tart for my taste, but the wings were an absolute hit--crispy, flavorful, and definitely worth ordering. My bourbon cocktail (the name escapes me) was strong, bourbon-forward, and delicious if you like your drinks on the bold side. A couple of notes: the music is loud. Loud enough that people near us were plugging their ears with their fingers. Be prepared for volume. On the bright side, service was excellent. Our server, Daphane, was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and really helped make the night more enjoyable despite the disappointments. I'm a big fan of live music and jazz clubs, and I genuinely want to see Blue Note Club Jazz Club thrive. I'm willing to extend some grace since it's their opening week, but they need to work on starting shows on time and making sure audiences get the full hour they're expecting and paying for. Came tonight to watch Aloe Blacc. We arrived early because I had issues with receiving tickets through their ticket web, and wanted to make sure they had us listed. Staff were friendly and checked us in. All seating is first come first serve, but pricing on bar and table seating I think are different prices. Place was decorated nicely. - parking online $15 vs $20 by venue they validate. -$20 minimum per person - get there at-least an hour before if you want to get as close as possible or have options where to sit. We were first and chose a decent seat not super close but with an isle/walkway in front of us. -family style seating, with tables for 8/6/4 if you bring 4 you don't have to worry about possible awkward conversation with people you've never met. -does get crammed really quick with a lot of people. Another option would be reserve a booth. But not sure how much that would be. Servers were nice hosts/seaters were friendly. Wings were not spicy more on the sweeter side but they were enjoyable. Was a fun night with a semi intimate setting. We enjoyed the event. -restrooms are a free for all men and women combined. read more

Like Richard, I was underwhelmed an disappointed in the venue as a whole. My husband and I attend live music at least once a month in a variety of settings, including the stacked cabaret seating offered at the Blue Note. While we enjoyed Warren Haynes the seating left a lot to be desired. We were cramped together and seated on hard chairs at folding tables that often felt like they were going to topple over whenever someone got up from their seat. On our way out we noticed an area in the back that was elevated and contained round tables with plenty of space between each party. I innocently asked a busboy what I should look for when ordering tickets, that would allow us procure these seats. He suggested I ask the manager, We found him, and asked, and were told these tables were unavailable to the general public as "we're in Hollywood, man. We need to have seats available for Hollywood people who might just wander in." In other words, we are lowly peons. Thanks but no thanks, there are plenty of other venues to patronize, where we won't BE patronized. I will say that the wait staff were helpful and courteous and food and drinks were decent. read more

This place is so beautiful. The music was lively and you can hear it from every corner of the venue. They definitely pack you in, felt like I was in people's personal space but that's generally how these shows go. Definitely go early to grab a good seat. We also got the linguine pasta with clams and it was so zesty and delicious! The clams were small and few in the pasta but still fresh none the less. The main star only played for 45 mins and we were expecting more. It was a good one time experience and a great place but I don't think I would come back. read more

A very intimate venue to watch very talented musicians and artists. We bought tickets for a table during the late showing to see the Free Nationals. We arrived around 8:30pm and there was a line that had already formed at the entrance. Doors opened at 9:00pm. Our table was stage left fairly close. It was a shared table. The space is a bit tight so go to restroom and all that before the show starts. I ordered the burger and a rum Negroni. Both very good and the service was great. We enjoyed the music the vibe and the environment. We even got to see Questlove and Thundercat on as guests. Highly recommend! We'll be back. read more

WYCLEFF JEAN SHOW We had the best time here at the Blue Note Jazz Club watching Wycleff perform! It was a packed house and the whole place was full of energy I highly recommend you check it out. PROS: - cool vibes! Dim lighting. Tables are all near the stage not a bad seat anywhere really. Restroom is unisex. - delicious bites! We ordered food and everything was tasty but the portions are small. Think appetizer sizes. The raw scallops were my favorite! - perfect sound as the walls are padded and shaped. Live music with instruments everything sounded great. - first come first seating! We got there an hour early to stand in line to get the best table. - the servers are ON IT! They were friendly and came often to take our orders and the drinks were flowing all night! Cons: - it's very cramped inside. Literally you are sitting back to back with strangers. Walking between tables to go to the restroom was difficult and I'm not a big person. - don't sit at the very front of the stage or you will have a neck cramp from looking UP. read more

Was lucky enough to get tickets to see legendary hip hop royalty, RAKIM perform here and he was AMAZING! Smooth and poetic as ever! The Soul Rebels band accompanied him and were SO good. Shout out to the DJ too who got everyone going with his old school pre show mix!! Such a cool vibe at Blue Note. Only downside is how crowded the seating was-we could not move and your neighbors are literally backed up against/next to you. also had an issue with parking although I prepaid and had my ticket scanned when we went in -it did not work at the lot when we left so we had to PAY AGAIN to get out :( read more

Finally made it here! So lucky to see Robert Glasper and Ari Lennox on 12/17, she was beautiful and the vibe was immaculate. We sat at the tables next to and in front of the stage. Service is efficient and the food was pretty decent. My only complaint, it's a tight fit. It could use 1/4 less tables, feels cramped. Even so, the food and drinks come out quickly. read more
