The meat and cheese was lacking flavor in general. The sandwich was also on the small side. For the same $10 you could get a much more filling meal at the subway down the road. Service: This place is set up so you order your food at a window and they bring it out to you but there is not full table service. The food came out quickly. Ambience: There are cool decorations including a decorative suit of armor. The tables can be a little close together if the place is full but isn't too packed otherwise. I am ashamed to say that this was my first stop here after the hundreds of times I have driven by. The place is on the smaller side, but bright, and so clean!! The service is phenomenal, each person is treated with patience, regardless of whether there is a line behind them or not. This is a must stop whenever we're in Kittery. Their sandwiches are SO good. Warning - do not get the straight up horseradish sandwich because it is really spicy just like the warning on the menu states. The roast beef is not sliced like other delis but rather chopped like other reviewers have said. I don't think this is an issue but some people may not like it. The horseradish mayo is delicious. 1st time I ate here the sandwiches were 100 % of heaven but now they have increased the menu items too, too much whereas before menu was easy to order from, very conservative and pleasant. Servers were great! Ate there in 2023, still very nice sandwich but not as wonderful as before. I LOVE ROAST BEED & ROAST TURKEY SANDWICHES & BOTH are very fresh & good here. Prices are much higher than 1st time eating here. SERVICE IS STILL GREAT! I would recommend but bring your credit cards. BUT.......instead of being thinly sliced to enhance the flavor and tenderness of the beef, they chose to cut into chunks resembling poké. The flavor of the beef was outstanding but I could not enjoy it because it was too chewy. My potato salad was quite fresh and delicious. I prefer potato salad with egg and some kind of pickle on it. This didn't have that but was nonetheless delicious as evidenced by my empty bowl. If I were to remain in the area, I'd try one of their other sandwich offerings - pork loin, ham, turkey. read more

The "Cromwell" warm sliced applewood ham with Brie, Balsamic onions and whole grain onions. And the "Suffolk" chilled roast beef lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese and there own horseradish-mayonnaise Super quick and friendly service. These sandwiches are the bomb! Went here today with my family and got a roast beef with BBQ, a turkey, and ham & cheese. All were off the chain good. The sandwiches were the perfect size, too. They're not too small and not too large. They forgot to include my order of potato salad, which I'm really bummed about, but I'm still giving 5 stars because they made a kids version of the roast beef sandwich for my son, which is not something that's on the menu. Not sure why, since roast beef is their signature item, but I really appreciated the accommodation. Service was fast and friendly. And while our order was take out (we went up to Mt A for a picnic), the interior seating was very clean; my wife said the bathroom is one of the nicest she's ever seen at a sandwich shop; and they have a cute little gift shop inside. read more
