Cocktails were syrup-y (2/5 stars) but the cauliflower steak (5/5 stars) was phenomenal, and I say that as a foodie! It wasn't life changing but I was genuinely very impressed, and I'd recommend this dish highly. That being said, a few of my coworkers ordered salads that didn't look amazing (burnt croutons, slightly droopy lettuce), so I'm inclined to give this restaurant a 3.5/5 and I'm rounding up because their overall rating is so low right now. Servers seemed overworked and therefore were inattentive and disengaged.

I think the bartender was new... the martini was terrible and served in a plastic cup?? I heard them saying something about how the night before they ran out of glassware, but there's a ton of glassware on the bar in front of me, so I don't understand what's going on. The French fries were good though!

I come here for the mussels and conversation. For whatever reason, my arrival is never during a busy time at the bar, where I go directly. Tonight, there was a young woman learning some basic drink mixing, which I enjoyed watching. I'm never in a hurry here, and I start out with some variety of martini, knowing that I'll be transitioning to wine and mussels. The staff was engaging, and they always grant me extra bread to soak up the garlic butter nectar. Let me also note, before the mussels, I had a half dozen raw oysters, and those were the BIGGEST damn oysters I've ever had. So much yum. Someday I might have something else here. But I doubt it.

Amazing food and a very cozy atmosphere. You feel as if you were back a few decades at a pub!

I give this place five stars based on the food and service. We entered o December 31st to a birthday gathering and saw a small group of about six siting at two small tables that had been placed together. As more arrived we were told we could sit in the larger room but to be aware others may come in there to eat which were not in our party. No other people outside of our group of about 35-40 people showed up so we had the whole area to ourselves. Oysters, chicken piccata, burgers, salads, etc ordered and and everything looked delicious and presented beautifully. Fried and barbecue wings were brought in on the house. The service was provided by cheerful happy faces and the wait for food was short. My only complaint is it was cold on both sides of the restaurant. I've paid more for burgers and fries that were not as delicious and less of a great service in other restaurants. Well done Henry's Bar and Grill!

Chicken sandwich was undercooked, and the staff wasn't the friendliest. Definitely won't be back.

The food was satisfactory, but the drinks were average. I appreciate the concept of an elegant bar without the overwhelming music and crowded spaces. However, the odors hinted at a less refined establishment - the enticing scents of mop water and numerous pairs of shoes were noticeable. The place's layout was pleasant, but it seemed to lack that extra. I see that they are making an effort. Would I consider returning? Perhaps. The server was friendly, and the place was not busy at all.

It came with a side of coleslaw (3.5 Stars) and spiced honey (3 Stars). They fried a whole breast, it was so large that it over flowed the toasted brioche bun. The only thinking that made it spicy was the homemade spicy mayo, so it wasn't that spicy. I noticed on the menu they have sauces, like Nashville and buffalo. I think next time I'll try one of those sauces to kick up the heat. The cheese I add was not needed, I should have left off. The Fries (4 stars) were coated with potato flour and seasoning, which made a great crispy crust, served hot. Mac N' Cheese (4 Stars $6.49) I ordered the small 8oz, it was corkscrew pasta covered with a cheese sauce that was awesome with some Cajun spices, a like dirt Mac and some extra cheese on top. The burger was fresh and flavorful--you can taste the quality in every bite. The onion rings were on point too: crispy, not greasy, perfectly cooked. Dipping them into the habanero mayo gave it just the right kick. Definitely recommend that combo. The staff was friendly and kept things cool even though there were only two or three people running the place. The spot itself is small, just a few tables and chairs, with a little bit of Latin music playing in the background, which gave it a nice touch. When I first got there, it wasn't too busy, but by the time I finished, it was filling up. Walked around the block to stretch out, came back 15 minutes later, and the place was packed. What's also impressive is that their fried chicken sandwich was voted one of Yelp's Top 50 Fried Chicken Sandwiches in California, ranking #33 in the state. That's what I'm definitely trying next time. Final verdict: Great burger, great onion rings, friendly service, and a spot worth checking out if you're around University Ave in Berkeley. Two thumbs up from me.

The fish burger was crispy yet juicy and savory. The bun was soft, but not bready. Not a fillet-o-fish sandwich, but it stood on its own and the portion was enormous! Thankfully I was hungry when I ordered it because by the time I took my last bite, I was extremely full, yet satisfied! And I MUST add that the service here is exemplary! Courteous does not begin to explain how nice the order taking experience was for me as a customer. It was nice, accommodating, and genuine. I love this level of service. What I don't understand is why I'm charged an additional $2.50 for the lettuce wrap when I'm not even getting the bun. If you're taking something away, what's the justification for adding an extra charge? I could understand a modest upcharge, but $2.50 for a few leaves of lettuce is hard to justify. I can buy an entire head of lettuce for about that price. What bothered me even more was that no one mentioned the charge when I placed my order. It wasn't until I picked up my food and saw the receipt that I realized I had been charged extra. Customers deserve to know about additional charges before they order, not after the fact. When I politely asked why there was a $2.50 charge, the employee simply looked at me and said, "I don't know." There was no explanation, no offer to ask someone else, and no attempt to address a perfectly reasonable question. That level of customer service was just as disappointing as the surprise charge. The burger was excellent, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. At this point, I don't plan on coming back. Or maybe I'll just bring my own lettuce next time. Better yet, just give me the burger without the bun, and I'll wrap the damn thing myself when I get home.
