We popped in Henry's on accident really of wanting and need to use the bathroom bar hopping around Denver. It has a nice fireplace which we sat around in th back and were able to catch some college football. Unfortunately there was group of rowdy guys back there, but we tolerated them. Service was a little slow, but we may have been in the middle of shift change. We ordered the Irish stew which was a bit watery, but the cocktails were strong, and it seemed like a real deal Irish Bar. My friends said it gets crazy during the Kentucky Derby, which puzzles me. This is a bar, not a restaurant. Definitely just a bar. I do not drink very much alchol. So if you like beer go for it, you are simply paying for atmosphere and a place to watch the game (aka sports bar) It seems to trick tourists into thinking it is a fine restaurant. so if you think this is a fine restaurant STOP, TURN AROUND and go to an actual restaurant. The started salad i ordered was 99 percent white chunky ice berg lettuce (the dressing was fantastic however) but the bright fresh salad i thoight i was paying for was not what i got! The food was all over priced and im afraid most the menu isnt worth eating. I wont be going back guys, sorry. Either lower your prices to reflect the quality or get a better chef who knows how to make a classic Reuben without destroying it. I got an entrée, i got a Reuben and again was let down, the corned beef was so greasy! Ive never had a greasy ruben before. It was also cheesy and thick with mayonnaise dressing. Sadly just not impressed. The owner seems more concerned with beer selections and less concerned over food quality over all. What a shame. Stay away...waste of time, and money. Service is way too slow. My buddy met me for lunch and I suggested to try Henry's Tavern. We sat at the bar and 3 different bartenders looked right at us and didn't welcome us or asked if we wanted something to drink. 5 minutes later (and I really do mean 5 min because I kept looking at my phone since I had a meeting at 2pm) a bartender welcomed us and we were able to order couple of beers with our meals. I had to ask two different bartenders to see where our meals were at. We ordered at 1:24pm and got the food at 1:55pm or so. I didn't enjoy my meal because I had to eat fast so I could run out and make my 2pm meeting, that I was late for by 10 minutes. Not blaming your establishment for my poor decision to go to a sit down at a restaurant, but I never had a problem at other restaurants in the past to order and eat a meal in 45 minutes. I used to live in Oregon and was a big fan of Henry Weinhard's Private Reserve Beer. I now live outside of Denver and stumbled upon Henry's Tavern after an extensive search on where I could purchase some Henry's Private Reserve. The food menu selection at first glance is unique and offers exotic twists to typical Bar Pub menu items, so I was very excited to make the hour trek into Denver to try some fun sounding items such high as (tempura battered fried cheese curds) and also drink some Henry's PR which is still listed as being available in bottles. I questioned the validity of the availability of Henry's PR as I haven't seen it at any liquor store in the past couple of years, so I called the restaurant to confirm and the female greeter who answered the phone in fact confirmed they served Henry's PR in bottles and that it is listed on the menu. Upon arrival I was impressed with the decor and ambiance of the venue. Rustic high end industrial seems to be the theme. Edison bulb light fixtures and tall ceilings along with screens hung around the perimeter of the wall make this a great place to catch a game. Unfortunately the food quality does not match the ambiance. My family and I ordered the waffle fries and tempura battered cheese curds to start off with, and burgers as our main dish. I also ordered Henry's PR as it is still listed on the updated menu, only to discover from the waitress that they haven't carried it in a couple of years. This was very disappointing as I had just driven over an hour and also confirmed with staff beforehand that Henry's PR was available in bottles. The cheese curds were decent and I would rate them a 7 on a scale of 1-10. The paprika seasoned waffle fries were okay and seemed sourced from a mass produced supplier and I rate them a 6. Chick-Fila has much better tasting waffle fries. The burgers appeared to be previously frozen and also massed produced from a sourced supplier and reminded me of what I would get at a ball park or convention center. I would rate between a 5-6 and describe as eatable but far from what I was expecting given the atmosphere and price of the burger. Save some money and go to Red Robin or five guys for a less expensive better tasting burger. Go for the ambiance and a great selection of beer but don't expect to find Henry's Private Reserve beer despite the Tavern being founded and named after the Henry Weinhard brewery. Kind of ironic. Food does not match the ambiance and price but is generally eatable and I am sure there are some exceptions like the cheese curds. Apparently they stopped brewing Henry's PR in 2013 when Strohs (who sold to Miller, and later bought out by Anheuser Busch ) decided to stop production of Henry's altogether... which is ironic as since Henry's taste so much better than any AB product. Henry's Tavern pays homage to the Henry Weinhard but don't expect to find their beers available despite being listed on the menu. read more

Came here for the first time for lunch on a weekday. Service was a bit slow and the what we ordered was a bit wrong but nothing too terrible. Not to be too general but this place seemed average across the board. Nothing really stood out at this restaurant. Don't order the "pretzel" appetizer though. If you do, you will essentially be eating a pretzel shaped breadstick. read more

Visiting from out of town and wanted to grab a late night bite in Denver. Halfway through our meal a live band started playing at perhaps the loudest volume I've heard in my life; and that includes concerts. Stopped in for some drinks, and left soon thereafter. The bar area was maybe 1/3 full, including the bar. We sat at the bar and waited almost 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge we were there, despite 4 - 5 staff members behind the bar. After our drink orders were taken it took 5 minutes to get the beer and longer for the mixed drink. The drink was not well made and incredibly weak. We decided to forego another drink and appetizers. We waited another 10 minutes for the bill and another 15 to have the card get run. Again, 4 - 5 people milling behind the bar socializing with each other. We took my son here for his birthday lunch. We all ordered pretty standard fare, burgers, sandwiches and fish & chips. Other than the waffle fries, which were outstanding, everything else was pretty average. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was good but not great and I opted to steal waffle fries from other plates rather than eat my own plain ones. The cole slaw was practically inedible. There was enough vinegar so it puckered the face (and this coming from someone who loves pickled anything). We arrived on a busy Saturday evening, as the Rock Festival was occurring, but we were surprisingly able to get in and enjoy patio seating in about fifteen minutes. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, and you could tell that she was working as hard as she could on such a busy night. I ordered the Salmon Tacos and it was delicious. We were strolling down 16th Street Mall looking for a place to grab a drink. I had remembered that Henry's opened recently and we hadn't checked it out yet. We walked in and sat at the bar. Immediately we were greeted by a bartender and handed the happy hour menu. Then it was like we disappeared. The bartender helped another couple that arrived after us sitting at a table. They ordered their drinks and received them before we were even looked at again. We sat their patiently waiting and watching as the bartenders kept walking past us. I was starting to feel ignored. We were about 2 seconds away from getting up and leaving when the bartender finally circled back to us. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. He put the app into the computer right away. We sat there and waited, and waited for our drinks to be made. He finally mentioned that someone had to get some liquor from the back, so we waited even more. Our food arrived and we began eating. We got a crab and avocado roll. It was okay. I would compare it closely to sushi you would get from King Soopers in the sushi section. It wasn't bad, just not worth the cost. We finally got our drinks. I asked the bartender then for some napkins. He didn't respond, so when he looked up again, I started to say it again. He cut me off and said, I know, you want napkins. As if I didn't already feel like this was a bad experience, that topped the cake. We then asked for our tab. Between the rudeness of Adam (the bartender) and the douchiness of other bartenders wearing sunglasses inside and running into you, I will not return. I wanted to like this place, but that was not a very good impression and I don't want to waste my time or money on this establishment anymore. read more

I went on St. Patrick's day and ordered the fried pickles--which is what I think made me sick--cheddar soup, and an Irish Car Bomb. The Car Bomb came with a beer glass that was less than half full.
