It's fantastic. Henry is this sweet older man with such an effervescent quality to his personality. He was doing everything- cooking, waiting, making conversation. Just a sweet soul putting out good eats. There were only two other people in there when I went so it was quiet, comfortably warm (even while sitting by a window), no muss no fuss. The food was delicious. I got a turkey club, my mom got the steak sandwich- both were fab. Best turkey club I've had in a very long time. If you are feeling overwhelmed, in need of comfort, or if you're world weary, go to Henry's. PSA- the photo of the menu I took is just the dinner situation, I cannot attest to lunch or breakfast. Parking is in the back- turn down Wallace St and it'll be the first entrance on the right.

Yikes. Henry's gives me the same vibe as Scotty's - both in Wallingford. The floor and table were sticky. The placemat (paper) was seemingly reused. We were pestered by a gnat or 3. The waitress seemed like she didn't like her job. The minute I sat down, she asked if We were ready to order. Weird that by 9AM one of their specials was already 86ed. Not that I would have chosen it... My go to breakfast dish is an eggs Benedict-that's how I decide how good the restaurant is. When I read how they make theirs-with cheese sauce instead of hollandaise, I have to say No. I chose the 2 eggs over medium, rye toast and crispy bacon. The eggs were covered in butter and not fully cooked. The "toast" was not toasted. When I asked for a napkin I was told I already had one. Yep, the one I had was dirty. $25 for a not good breakfast was a real bummer. Do not recommend.

I love this restaurant! I'm from outside of Boston so this was my first time here. My family and I were looking for a place to eat breakfast at around 3, and most of our options were closed. We came in and were surprised to see no customers, but we stayed! The sweetest employee (Pia) helped us out, she gave us our drinks and sat us down. She was bubbling and super sweet :) She cooked our breakfast and I don't know if I was just really hungry but the food was DELICIOUS! I am a big cafe hopper and I always get omelettes, and that was by far the best omelette I think i've ever had - bacon ham and spinach omelette. Like MOUTHWATERING! My family - mom, dad, and aunt - also all loved their meals!! Pia was so sweet and Henry came in later and said hello. There was such a sweet home-town vibe and I wish I could come here every weekend!!

I pass by all the time and wanted to try this place for a while. It has a high Yelp rating (though no Elites) so figured it would be better than decent. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the current rating. As I sat and waited for my friend to get there, I felt the urge to get up and leave. I should've listened to my gut, it's almost always correct. My friend always gets the Benedict when we go someplace new. When I saw it was topped with cheddar cheese sauce I got a sinking feeling. She wound up not getting the Benedict for that reason and instead went safe with two over easy eggs, rye toast. The eggs were greasy/buttery and underdone. It was not hot, likely sat waiting for my dish to be done. The pictures of the pies on Yelp look so good. The sign outside said strawberry shortcake. I was looking forward to something sweet. There was nothing sweet to be had. No pies. No muffins. No shortcake. I ordered the Tuscan grilled vegetable skillet. I didn't get Tuscan veggies or a skillet. It only had 3 pieces of potato. The toast was just one slice cut in half and barely toasted. Oh, and it had that cheddar cheese sauce on it! Not good. I guess I should've ordered the pancakes or French toast. They looked pretty good being delivered to other tables. The table was sticky, the paper mats looked reused and the waitress wasn't all that friendly, questioning each request we made, even for another napkin. Oh, we'll. On to the next place...

had breakfast for dinner here tonight and the food was delicious and the ambiance was so cozy. Henry took care of us and he was so kind. Superb service and I will be back. The english muffin was perfectly toasted and buttered as well. The bacon and home fries were crispy and flavorful and the eggs were cooked perfectly over-easy. Great breakfast spot.

They have great service! Very personable and Henry is a sweet man. The food is mediocre at best. The food was extra greasy. The bacon seemed to be precooked then warmed in the microwave. My Western omelette was salty and overcooked. The blueberries were frozen and thawed out. The coffee - meh . The scrambled eggs were tough. It's expensive for the food quality but the people are nice. I won't return

Two Eggs which were supposed to be scrambled. Rubbery bacon. Uncooked toast.

Ordered scrambled eggs, white toast, home fries and bacon. Toast was not toasted, bacon was rubbery as it was sitting for a few hours, eggs were not scrambled, they were dry and omelet like. Home fries were OK. IT was 9am and only 2 other customers, not like it was busy. The owner sits at a table with his laptop. He took my order and pretty much left the food and sat at the table and not attend to the food. You can see the end result of wanting to use his laptop and not pay attention to the customer. You would think the owner who is also the 'chef' would have asked what was wrong with the food when a customer has a plateful of food untouched. He just handed me the check and cashed me out. The wife was upfront and didn't ask either. Very disappointed, would not recommend.

The new location is much larger and it's so close to The Gilded Curtain. I was so happy to see Jeremy & Sarah, the new space, all of the new decor, and the new menu. After exploring all of the witch decor, I pulled up a seat at the bar and perused the menu. Since my last visit, I have actually given up alcohol. This is no problem at Bones & Botanicals: they have plenty of non-alcoholic options. Throughout my visit, I enjoyed the mocktails "Apple of my Chai" (chai tea, housemade apple cider concentrate, lemon, topped w/ ginger beer), "Azurite" (cold brew lavender tea, housemade blueberry syrup & lemon juice, club soda), and "The Little Sister Maiden" (butterfly pea tea, housemade syrup w/ butterfly pea tea, lavender & vanilla, lemon juice, topped w/ club soda). I enjoyed them all, but the latter was my favorite. In addition to being very flavorful, they also had great presentation. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the new Bones & Botanicals and I think that the Gliddens are going to do very well here! I highly recommend a visit to either of their establishments!

I got a blueberry no-jito and it was so refreshing.

It has taken me way too long to write this review, but I only recently started reviewing some of…read morethe places I've loved over the years, and The Eatery absolutely deserves one. When I lived in Wallingford for about three years, The Eatery became one of my places. I would stop in for breakfast before work, or someone from my team would make the breakfast run. At least once a month, we had to have an Eatery morning. We ordered lunch from here too, so over time this little place became part of our routine. When I eventually left Wallingford, my team actually bought me my last breakfast sandwich from The Eatery before I left. It sounds like such a small thing, but it was honestly bittersweet because they knew how much I loved this place. And years later? It's still just as good. One of the biggest reasons The Eatery has always stood out to me is the customer service. Everyone I've encountered has been sweet, polite and welcoming, but I especially have to mention Sam. Over the years, she became one of those people who made you feel like more than just another customer. She genuinely got to know her regulars. There were times I'd place my order online and it felt like she already knew I was coming. I'd walk through the door and she'd have everything ready. She has always been incredibly kind, caring and attentive, not only with me, but with the customers around her as well. That kind of customer service is something you remember. My son has been eating their food since he was around one year old, and he STILL loves it. Now whenever we're back in Connecticut for his appointments, my mom will ask, "Can we please stop at The Eatery?". Sometimes we're able to make it and sometimes we're not, but this past Friday we finally did. I ordered my favorite kind of breakfast: a bacon, egg & cheese on a pretzel roll. SO GOOD. The pretzel roll with the warm egg, bacon and melted cheese is such a perfect combination. My mom ordered her bacon, egg & cheese on ciabatta, and my son had one as well. Although apparently his wasn't enough, because he ended up stealing mine. Apparently Mom's food always tastes better. I also tried what I believe was their watermelon mint refresher/tea, which was refreshing and perfect with breakfast, while my mom had a caramel coffee that she absolutely loved. And please don't think they're only a breakfast spot. Their lunch is just as good. I used to order their salads all the time during work, and they were always incredibly fresh. In fact, my coworkers were notorious for wanting some of my salad because they knew where it came from. Everything always tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared rather than like something that had been sitting around. Another thing I love is seeing how much this place has grown. I remember what it was like when I first discovered it, and coming back years later and seeing what they've created is wonderful. They've added so much personality while somehow keeping the same warm feeling and the same wonderful people. The atmosphere is adorable. It's bright, clean, modern and welcoming, with tons of beautiful greenery, hanging plants, warm wood tones, woven light fixtures and fun pops of color. The big "Hello Wallingford!" mural is such a cute touch. There are little details everywhere, but it doesn't feel overdone, it has that relaxed neighborhood café feeling where you can grab your food and go or just enjoy being there. I also love how they change things up for the seasons and different occasions. They always seem to have something fun going on, especially around fall and the holidays, and I believe they offer catering as well. Funny enough, before I discovered The Eatery, I had driven past it so many times without realizing what I was missing. Once I finally stopped in, it became somewhere I went for years. If you live in Wallingford, you need to try this place. And honestly, even if you're coming from North Haven, New Haven or elsewhere in the area, make the drive. It's worth it. I may not live in Connecticut anymore, but whenever we're back in the area, The Eatery is still one of those places my family wants to stop. The food is delicious, the ingredients taste fresh, the atmosphere is beautiful, and most importantly the people have remained just as kind and welcoming as I remember them. Some restaurants are simply places you eat. The Eatery became part of my memories of living in Wallingford, and that's probably the best compliment I can give them. Keep telling them they need a second location in another state! Everyone deserves to try how amazing they are
