Over price and bad quality. I ordered pretzels with queso, burnt ends, fish n chips, clam chowder. Let me describe the food: Burnt ends were 5 small bite size pieces of burnt fat. It was garnished with pickled veggies. Not my fave but apparently the next best thing on the menu they had. Pretzels with queso. 2 small pretzels were soft. 1 star for that and the hot mustard. The queso was bland. Didn't eat it. Clam chow. Took one spoonful and pushed it aside. Wayyy too much heavy cream tasted bland. In my opinion is the best place to eat on the island. The food is cooked perfectly and the beer choices are great. I got the Redneck Rueben and it did not disappoint. My girlfriend ordered Nashville Chicken dinner and it was amazing. I forgot to take pics but will be back and will update this post. If I could give this place a 0 I would. I ordered a burger medium rare. It was medium at best. Also upgraded from fries to onion rings. I didn't get rings, I got STRINGS. Totally two different things. The burger and the strings had a ton of salt on them. Yuck!! Also, even though their TV screen that lists all their beers says they have happy hour everyday from 3:30-6:30 they don't. When we got our bill, there was no discount for happy hour, so we asked. On our last day in Marathon we decided to check out Herbie's and I'm so glad we did! The space was nice, clean, and inviting. We came during happy hour and on a Wednesday which is their beer appreciation day! They have a lot of great beers on tap, so if you appreciate a good beer definitely check this place out while you're in Marathon. Omg! We ordered their smoked fish Mac n cheese which is something I've never seen before so I knew we had to order that. I'm not sure if they have it all the time, so if you see it on the menu you HAVE TOO order it! The beer cheese and the smoky fish were AMAZING together. We also ordered the conch chowder which my boyfriend devoured so quickly. He really loved it! We also had a dolphin sandwich and an oyster po' boy which were also super good! It is a dive, literally looks like a roadside shack and the screened in patio is picnic tables. Do not let it fool you. My husband did not looked thrilled when I made him stop there. In fact a guy in a Jag F-pace peeked in and drove off! His loss. I chose it because it had both my daughter's favorites - mussels and ribs. Our waitress said everything is made from scratch and the chicken dish had been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. My kids started off of course with drunken mussels. I blinked and they were gone. I had conch fritters and conch chowder, both were great! Husband enjoyed the trash can wings, which are the full wing with all the sauces mixed. The kids both had 1/2 rack of ribs and husband had the brisket. Both served with homemade fries. The BBQ was excellent and we were pleasantly surprised! They had 4 sauces, good ole fashioned, raspberry barbecue, white barbecue and a mustard based barbecue. I had the drunken clams, nice sized and the broth is delicious to dip the bread in. Conch chowder was a little too spicy for my daughter and Ultimate Crabby Patty burger was juicy and cheesy. Conch fritters were bready and can use more conch meat.
