I have driven by this place many of times but I've never stopped., So I decided to give this place a try a few weeks ago. They do have a big menu and a little bit of everything for your food needs. I have the colossal burger special. I must say the burger was big but mid in flavor.. The fries are OK as well. Nothing special they could have used a little seasoning on them or if they did have seasoning they had very little on mine.. the jalapeños were to my liking, but the drinks seemed a little watered down or off in taste as well. Out of all the burger, places close to this location I think I would rather go somewhere else. The service here was very friendly. Ask for the chorizo burrito they said it came with beans not hashbrowns, which is what I wanted however, once I received it, there are hashbrowns and not beans and this was the easiest burrito I've ever encountered not only was it falling apart all over me and getting grease everywhere but I couldn't even finish the burrito because it was falling apart so much and so greasy. Was it an amazing burger? No. Did it get the job done and meet our expectations? Yes. We got burger, fries, and drink for less than $10/person. We visited Hercules for breakfast and really enjoyed the food, everything was very tasty, and compliments to the cooks. Our server was also very polite and attentive, which made our visit pleasant. We truly appreciated her professionalism. The only area that could use a bit of improvement is the experience at the register. While nothing major, a warmer or more welcoming tone would go a long way in matching the quality of the food and service we received at the table. I decided to give Hercules another try since I live nearby and haven't been in years, but unfortunately nothing has changed. I went through the drive-thru last night to order food for my family. When I asked for steak and eggs, the employee sighed loudly, as if he didn't want to make it. That alone completely set the tone. Because of that attitude, I didn't even feel comfortable continuing with the rest of my order. If that's the reaction to a simple menu item--especially when there were no customers inside--it doesn't give me confidence in the food or the service. I'm sad to say that my Hercules is starting to live up to their 3-Star rating - Big Sigh! It's been a little bit since the last time we were here so we decided to order our favorites for dinner. We usually call-in our order then swing through the drive-thru to pick up. The challenge began with the gal that answered the phone who took our order. She really struggled taking down our order of a Patty Melt with extra grilled onions, fried zucchini, and a sausage breakfast burrito. Unfortunately, I don't think our Patty Melt had ANY onions ‍, the fried zucchini were wimpy, not crispy like they usually are - the containers of green salsa we got were bloated and I think they were spoiled - and the packets of ketchup were a sticky mess - it was a glob of sticky packets - we just threw them away. It was kinda gross! We bought the burrito for our son so we hope they didn't mess that up too. It makes me really sad that quality of our go-to spot for a Patty Melt and zucchini fries has gone downhill! We drove past here last weekend and decided to give it a shot. We were shopping near by and thought we should have breakfast. The place when you walk in is pretty run down... The booths have tears in each chair and could use a deep cleaning. We walked in and gave our order, the service was pretty quick. I ordered the pancake breakfast for my wife and I got the steak burger. The burger was pretty well well done and the pancakes were extremely dry. The drink area was really dirty, it kind of made you wonder if the ice machine gets cleaned out. Again, this was just our take on it. Herc is not fine dining, but the food is excellent. Herc is not fast food, but it has a drive through and is fast. Herc IS great food at an acceptable price with a family atmosphere that makes you feel as if you are a regular the first time you order. If there was a negative it is that, like all businesses, they have a limited hiring pool to choose from and some of those in the pool are bottom dwellers. Regardless, I give them a five star rating because I have been eating here for years and the quality has never declined. I feel like quality has gone down recently. I received an order of onion rings with raw flour inside. I know when I called to speak to Moses I was told that they can replace it with another order of onion rings, or some thing equivalent to the price. However, they would not be able to refund me.
