Sigh...living in NH, I really wanted this place to be good and was excited to try it out when I passed the sign on Rt3. I gave it 2 stars (and not 1) for the idea and attempt. Alas, the food is not good and pretty expensive for what you get. $20 for 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 strips of bacon and 1 coffee. Toast is an extra $5.50 and another $5.50 for home fries. It all came up cold. Best part of the meal was the potato's...seasoned well and were tastey. I cannot in good faith recommend this place due to quality of food and the price. I wish it were better as the atmosphere and farm are pretty cool. read more

I am new to having to eat gluten free and dairy free, and let me tell you! I am so impressed! The owner was warm and welcoming and free with sharing her food knowledge. She made sure to stress the point that they can't be certified gluten free, which I now know the difference of. I tried the blueberry and the gingerbread pancakes and I was blown away. The home fries were so crispy and delicious, and of course the maple syrup was outstanding. Great service, great food, and a really awesome dog outside to visit with! Just WOW! we happened upon Heritage Farm Pancake House during a quick overnight with our granddaughters. it was close to our resort so we took a chance. So happy we did! located off the beaten path in the woods of Sanbornton, NH, this hidden gem is not only quaint and welcoming, but serves a wonderful breakfast family style in the most comfortable atmosphere! You order your food at the counter and then slip upstairs (or outside) and wait for it to come to you. While waiting, our granddaughters played with toys provided and banged on the piano in the corner. It literally felt like a home away from home. The food was delicious and and their homemade maple syrup was outstanding! Yes, this farm is also a working sugar house! After our meal we strolled the beautiful grounds that has a playground and petting zoo for everyone to enjoy. The grandkids had a wonderful time and so did the adults! The people are nice but the wait time for food is ridiculous on top of that the food portions of the pancakes are an inch thick with the consistency of a KFC biscuit. The eggs and bacon were the best part of this meal at a pancake house. After we were done eating we had to clean our own table. Meaning that there is a possibility that the table wasn't properly sanitized between customers. read more

Food is fresh and delicious! The pancakes are divine and i love that they let everyone choose how they want their bacon cooked (floppy, crispy, or dead). Very cute farm with petting zoo and the sweetest Saint Bernard who will curl up with you on the porch. They pay their staff proper wages with tips included in cost of food. The place is interesting at first sight, given that it is in the middle of nowhere and that there many farm animals to be seen. The people are also friendly enough, but my god, is the food bad (particularly the pancakes!). Eating them feels like eating a rubbery, dense and flavorless mass where every bite is a choking hazard. All this at astronomically high prices, paper plates and cups as well as plastic utensils (at a place that wants to be seen as old fashioned and unique). Tourist trap alarm! read more

Epic failure My wife and I stopped here for breakfast, we thought we'd give it a try. It is now (2022) $17.50 per adult and you get two pancakes, two eggs, two slices of bacon. But when they take your order they don't ask you how you want your eggs or how you want your bacon and so if you just tell them what you want for pancakes you don't get any eggs and you don't get any bacon. They don't tell you this of course but they charge you for it. The pancakes were mostly undercooked and gooey. The bacon which my wife ordered crispy which was delivered floppy. I guess I should've ordered their Dead style but I wanted it crispy. An absolute gem in the Lakes Region. Off the beaten path, this farm transports you to a simpler time. Be prepared to wait, but there's entertainment from the farm animals and walking the grounds. I've been here numerous times and before covid, everything was served family style. Since going recently, it's all on individual paper plates and cups. I ordered the specials: banana walnut and pumpkin. It was hard to pick which one was better but I'd have to say pumpkin! The pancakes are rich, dense, yet fluffy, and they're packed with whichever flavor they promise. Two pancakes was plenty and I had leftovers for another whole breakfast. This is one of my most treasured spots and a place I always take out of town visitors. It's run by a wholesome family and the service is super nice! Just beware of the bees! read more

This is a family run, family style pancake house where there are two prices $15 per adult or $8 per child. You order from the menu and all the food comes on one platter for al to choose from. There are only a couple seats inside the restaurant and crowded, so recommend sitting at the picnic tables on the porch instead. I didn't understand why the placed all the food on one metal plate either. We were served paper plates, plastic ware, and a disposable plastic cup. The traditional pancake was delicious. I also chose the chocolate chip pancake but didn't care much for it. Thick pancakes though. They have almost every ingredient available for the pancakes, certainly a huge variety to pick from. The eggs were fine; i didn't care for the hard sausage links though and tried the bacon which wasn't all that good either. The bathroom was a bit dated though. Not sure why they can't clean the toilet or have the sink and toilet refinished if that's the cause of well water. Staff was friendly and we were placed at the picnic table outside to eat. Wasn't so bad other than a big bee flying around us and the big dog visiting us frequently. Though we didn't touch the dog because she had an odor and likely due to being out in the rain because it was raining during breakfast. The driveway is unpaved and there is no clear path for customers to walk on. So we had to walk down the muddy driveway with puddles from the rain, getting a footwear dirty and wet. If I were to come back here, I'd only select the traditional pancakes and let everyone eat the rest of the food. Or I'd only pick the child size. read more

Arrived for breakfast, finished at lunchtime. The food was very good, no denying that at all. The food was not worth the wait. Party of 4, two hours from the time they sat us down until our breakfast arrived. In all fairness, they warned us before sitting down that it would be a long wait because they just seated two parties of 10 plus each. Even with the large parties, the menu was simple, although everything was fresh. I think what annoyed me most was the "hostess" kept suggesting we go visit the animals on the petting farm. Seriously, she suggested it 4 times. It had rained very hard the previous day and through the night. It was still raining lightly when we arrived. I'm not interested in a petting farm before a meal unless I am going to select the animal they are going to feed me. Besides which, it the walk from the car was muddy and we were dodging puddles. Going for breakfast on a farm I expected to be walking in dirt, mud, dodging puddles and probably swatting flies here and there. I would give it 5 stars for the food alone. The wait was too much. Had they said it could be 90 minutes before you are served rather than try to distract us with "the experience of the petting farm", we probably would have left. read more

They haven't mastered fast service, but they sure want you to be happy and have a nice time. I come every time I visit NH. Make sure you come with patience and you aren't in a rush. You may be greeted by a large St. Bernard. The first time I visited they had a donkey named Flower who was eating corn off the porch and begged for your leftovers. It's a great time and reminds me of my childhood growing up in NH. You can step into a different world for just a brief visit and it's truly great. Oh and save some leftovers for the piggies. Pancake aficionados, stop and read. You know who you are. Everywhere you go, anywhere you travel, when you wake up in the morning one of the first things you think is "where are the best pancakes? What's using real maple syrup? Who knows what they're doing around here?" Now, look. I've been on a quest to find the perfect pancake/flapjack and/or crepe for over a decade. I've tried pancakes in dozens of states. I've had plate-sized ones, I've had silver dollar ones, I've had Japanese fluffy pancakes in Tokyo, crepes in Belgium and France, and even makeshift pancakes from a tiny hotel in Nicaragua. I've had vegan ones, I've had paleo ones. Protein cakes, almond cakes. You name it, I've had it. Numerous times. Heritage Farm's pancakes are the best pancakes I've ever had. Yes, I've had Parker's, yes, I've had Intervale, and yes, I've been to all the big spots in Vermont (where you should try The Butler's Pantry in Stowe). Each of those establishments have merit and deserve recognition. But Heritage Farm takes the crown. The world needs a Pancake Maker Hall-of-Fame and the older gentleman that makes all of the delicious cakes at Heritage Farm needs to be enshrined. He's an absolute legend and the world needs to know about him. Now: these are thick, heavy pancakes. They're not for the small-stomached or for anyone tracking calories. Truthfully, historically, thick and heavy 'cakes aren't my favorite. I like sort of mid-level thickness, soft (but not chewy) on the inside, with a golden butter-induced crisp on the outside. Six-inchish diameter. Medium-dark color, slight hint of natural vanilla and/or natural almond extract, with just a little bit of dark amber maple syrup drizzled on top. With that said, why do I love the thicker, heavier pancakes at Heritage Farm so much? The ingredients. They're heavy, but everything tastes so *fresh*, the ingredients are impeccably-balanced, the add-ins measured perfectly. There's not too much or too little of anything; they're thick with a gentle fluff/bounce without being overloaded with baking soda. They taste like the "cleanest" pancakes you'll ever have in your life. As for the Farm-made syrup: dark, rich, thick. Yes. My favorites: banana walnut, pumpkin, and especially lemon poppyseed (this one will change your life forever). Now, NH residents, this is what I ask if you: realize the treasure that you have here. Realize that one of the greatest pancake makers to have ever walked the face of our beautiful little planet lives right in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Can you believe it? It's true. While you're alive and still looking to satisfy your taste buds, support this business and eat his family's pancakes. While you're there, remember to pet the ponies and ask questions about how they craft their amazing maple syrup. You won't regret it. read more

Naturally, when you think about maple syrup, pancakes are one of the first things to come to mind. At Heritage Farm, the popular choice is the family-style breakfast. Farm-fresh eggs, locally grown potatoes, homemade pancakes, locally sourced smoked bacon... count us in! Everything arrived on a large metal tray, with M's silky and fluffy scrambled eggs snuggled next to a pile of home fries (extra crispy, per our request) and a little mountain of bacon. The thick-cut bacon from The Fox Country Smoke House was toothsome and tender. My sunny side eggs were delicious and the yolk oozed lusciously, blowing every store-bought egg out of the water. For my pancake, I just had to pick pumpkin. It's kinda hard to find pumpkin pancakes in LA outside of the fall season because that's when it is trendy and relevant. Moist and gooey with pumpkin puree and perfectly golden on the outside, these pancakes were not too sweet, making them perfect when drizzled with their own maple syrup. I was in pancake heaven! M has a soft spot for blueberry pancakes, so they were an obvious choice. Filled with the plump purple globes, he seemed to really enjoy his breakfast, not even pausing to share a bite with me! By the time we polished off the last morsel, we were stuffed and oh so satisfied. We definitely recommend visiting Heritage Farm for farm-fresh food so close to its origins. This place is amazing, best pancakes I've ever had. Went with my mom, and we got a family platter which I believe was two pancakes each, two eggs each, home fries, and a couple pieces of bacon each. The pancakes were amazing, they have a whole bunch of crazy flavors, we stuck with traditional, oatmeal scottie (which was made with oatmeal, and butterscotch chips), banana walnut, and lemon poppy. Thick, fluffy, and delicious. All of em! The home fries were seasoned perfectly, and the eggs were farm fresh. Bacon was not only delicious, but they gave you the option of how u want it cooked, which I've never seen before. Options were: floppy, crispy, and dead (which means it's so crispy it's falling apart. If you eat outside you'll see animals walking around, and they're all friendly. Inside are some tables, as well as a store where they sell pictures, homemade maple syrup, all sorts of soap's, and homemade honey from back door farm. Employees we spoke with which were the girls waitressing, as well as the chef were all very friendly. There's a petting zoo out back with sheep, goats, geese, roosters, and rabbits. If you're staying close by, you love yourself, your family, and The United States of America; do yourself a favor, and check this place out. Just a caution the service portions are bigger than one would think. This is truly a family run business. My wife and I were greeted by the owner Matt Swain. Went today for some pancakes. The food was great and the service was family friendly. It's a family owned farm and restaurant. And they serve everything family style. I had the "adult" portion, which is two large pancakes, two eggs, two bacon and potatoes. They also have a "child" portion which is one of everything. I had the apple cinnamon and banana nut pancakes, mom had banana walnut chocolate chip, dad had chocolate chip and pumpkin. If you have anything left over, you can take it with you or they will feed it to the animals on the farm, so nothing goes to waste. All the food is produced either on their farm and is made from scratch everyday. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. If in the area this is a must try place. read more

Anytime between 7:30am-12:30pm Monday through Saturday, the kitchen will be making unbelievably tasty pancakes with myriad flavors, outstanding texture, and tummy-filling density. Served family style for either adult (double) or child (single) levels of hunger (not based on age), everyone can get plenty of food, and have leftovers if you want. We were in central New Hampshire for three days, and we did breakfast here for two of them. Absolutely a dream come true!!! Such a great homemade spread with huge generous sized pancakes that are hard to finish but flavors that will please anyone!!! It's a simple family establishment that is enjoyable to go into and appreciate the hard work of the family running it. I read some snowflake commenting on how they had to clean their own table - yes you do, it's called they are a small family and it takes two seconds not to be a total dink and pick up after yourself. If you are some rude ass tourist who wants fine dining and to be waited on like royalty, a farm isn't the place for you.
