$70 for hard gel here. Hard gel manicure ended up thick and my manicurist was rude. Will be sticking to Fairmount Nails for manicures. They used a lot of hand buffing as an opposed to an electrical hand drill if you're into that. My pedicure was amazing (don't by a different person) and the massage at the end ALMOST made it all worth it. read more

I saw mixed reviews on this place but really needed my nails done and it was close by. I'm so glad I went, the woman who did my nails did them the exact shape I wanted. She spent so much time filing and making sure they were perfect. They came out amazing. Everyone was very friendly to me and overall it seemed clean. Not to mention while I was there, a woman was being quite rude in my opinion and they handled her snarky comments really well... much better than I would've. This was the worst nail experience I've ever had. Tip: if you do not specialize in acrylics just say that. Don't proceed to charge me $70 for a full set with gel polish and the nail shapes are all off and the polish has nothing but streaks. Also I showed a picture of an ombré nail and didn't get that....at all. Please, we are in a pandemic revenue streams are cut, don't do things that you don't have expertise in. Everyone else...chips after 2 days or they don't cover the whole nail and you're left with 2 different shades because one part has 2 coats and the other just one. Photos attached. Really poor experience. Was seen without an appointment which was nice, came in for a gel mani and regular polish change on my feet. On my feet my nails were cut uneven and look absurd. On my hands, the tech was rushing and put me in pain multiple times. From grinding the gel off to using the scaper- one of my nails literally broke in half. His solution was to just cut it shorter than the rest of them, which is absurd. I was so upset I just got regular polish so I could get the hell out of there. My nails were extremely sloppy (uneven, stuff got mixed into the color, nails filed terribly) - had to redo it all when I got home. read more

She barked out commands and acted like I was such an inconvenience to her. I was dumb I left her a decent tip, but I told the man at the cash register that she was rude. I used to come here all the time, but I found this experience pretty disappointing. Essentially, it was a completely dry manicure without a nail soak. You may not think that matters but the dry dust from filing the polish off stayed on my skin the whole experience. The stylist also picked a hair out of the hot towel and used the nail dryer to prop up my arm. 3 second lotion massage- I counted. But the nail fuzz or antiseptic spray are still on my skin, just making it feel gross. Good price, my nails look good but - gross feeling? No relaxation from a massage or lotion rub. Heritage has unfortunately dropped off in quality from a year ago and back when it first opened. I went in for a pedicure with admittedly nails that were long (it was a tough winter) and this was the conversation: Her: You want me to cut them? Me: Yes, please. Her: Square? Me: Yes, please. The photo is what I got. My friggin nails are cut to the quick and my toe hurts! She did it all in one fell swoop so I couldn't even ask her to stop. I mean, whatever, they'll grow back, but damn. I have never had anyone doing a pedicure cut my nails this abnormally short and we clearly do not have the same understanding of "square". I'm fairly pissed that I wasted an hour of my life on this when there are plenty of other places to go. Argh. I will most definitely not be back. The length of the pedicure has also dropped off considerably. You used to get a nice scrub as well as a really nice leg and foot massage and now it's maaaybe 5 minutes long. It's kinda crazy cause I used to hate this place and just continued to come here out of convenience (it's legit across the street from my apt). So basically I have learned to love it. I typically go gel mani and pedi. Gel lasts a good 2 weeks and they use hot stones during your pedicure. V nice. Susan is the best technician I've had, but she's always busy because she's just that good. I think she's the owner!? Juan is an angel and his back massages while you are drying are amazing!!!!! I get so sad if I come and don't get a massage from him. Super friendly staff. They always remember your name and make you feel welcomed upon arrival. The price is a little higher than your average salon, but they do run specials if you pay with cash (but who ever has cash?!). They also have a rewards system which is nice. A wise woman said that one should never review a nail salon right away. You can have a top notch experience, but if a nail chips the next day, it doesn't really matter. So I had a good experience at Heritage. Unfortunately, the chip on my finger nail did begin the next day. There was no major chipping experience, it all just progressively chipped until one week later it looked like I ran my nails through a garbage disposal. My toes still look perfect. Let's circle back a bit to the actual appointment. I arrived slightly before the time of my appointment and was able to select my polish without being rushed. They had a nice selection of colors from brands like Essie and Opi. Within a few minutes of my selection, I was brought to the chair for my pedicure. Boy, was my pedicure thorough. All cards on the table, I'm not a fan of pedicures. I will have a coat of polish on my toes 365 days a year, but I'm not really a big fan of people touching my feet. This was a little too much for me. The yanking of my toes out of the joints was totally unnecessary. How is that even enjoyable? I would have been fine if they simply cleaned up my feet and neatly gave me some color. Maybe it was the end of a long day, but I also struggled a little to operate the massage function on the chair. My manicure was a little rushed. I felt there could have been a little more effort to shape my nails and prep them for a coat of nail polish. There were some obvious imperfections in my nails that they could have worked through that I typically cover when I do an at-home manicure. Both of my nail technicians were polite, professional and didn't talk much. I hate the small talk during these appointments so I definitely liked that they weren't forcing it. For whatever its worth, they were both male. No judgment, just commentary. I've never seen that before. Once my fingers were finished, I was taken to the nail dryer. I wish someone told me that it didn't shut off automatically. I kept sitting there waiting. At least I knew my nails were really dry. So the next day my toes hurt. I'm not sure if that's because they were yanked out of the joints or from the toe separators. In any case it hurt the next day, especially when working out. By day two, the pain was gone. I'm generally happy with my experience sans the chipping and toe pain. I'd go back, but I'm not sure if Heritage would be my top choice in nail salons. read more

I really wanted to like this salon. I've been a semi-regular customer for 8+ months. Their pedicure is great and I enjoy their point system. A few of the employees are very friendly. Walk ins are not always available so I usually make an appointment. Here's where it goes downhill: First, if you're not a upper-middle class, white female... I recommend you take your $ elsewhere. I've seen too many POC walk in and be told there are no appointments available for the rest of the day only to have the next white woman walk in and be told they can squeeze her in at ___ time. I've seen this happen at least 3x, doesn't feel like a coincidence anymore. Most recently I had a 4:30 appointment. I arrive at 4:25, say hello and let them know I have a 4:30 appt. I pick my color then stand by the front counter. No one looks up to say "hi" or "it'll be ___ a minute wait" so I sit down in the waiting area. 4:45 someone tells me to sit down in an empty chair. No one says "sorry we're running a bit behind schedule and it'll be a ___ min wait". White lady sits next to me and informs the staff that she had a 4:30 appointment as well. Immediately she's treated like an A+ customer ("oh hey, ____, how are you? Long time no see! How was your vacation? How's the family? etc etc"). She's immediately attended to. Meanwhile I'm still sitting there (now it's 4:50) and they've said barely three words to me. I ask how much longer is the wait "umm.... 3 minutes." I keep sitting. 3 mins later I ask again and am told 3 minutes again. Fast forward to the end of the story: After 10 more minutes I walk out. Appointment? Yes. Manicure? No. I understand salons get busy but I can't justify spending my money at a place where I'm not treated equally. I am definitely taking my business to another salon. read more

Do not come here! I just moved to Philly and was looking for a new nail salon. Terrible service. They also don't know how to do dip powder correctly. My nails were bumpy,uneven, and cracked the next day. They also talk about their customers. They're also unsanitary. They have a dog that runs around in the salon, there are flies, I didn't see them sanitize their tools inbetween customers, and the lady didn't change her gloves before working on my nails after her other client. read more

Went with my fiance to get pedicures and a manicure for her, pedicures were perfect, however slightly lengthy while waiting for our technicians to come to us as we sat in our chairs with feet in the water. The manicure was less than exceptional though. It took a long time to complete a traditional manicure with polish, and by the end of it, she had 3 nails that were nicked to the point of bleeding. Scheduled a pedi. Arrived about 10 minutes early & was asked to wait. Another client entered for a 5:30 manicure. This client was taken immediately. Another client arrived for a 5:30 pedi appointment. This client waited about a minute or 2 then was seated with an operator I was then seated & proceeded to wait. After 10 minutes with no one even glancing my way, I questioned the lack of service & was told I would "have to wait a little bit". No apology for delay just a dismissal. 3 operators doing 3 pedi & no one even close to having polish put on. Have been here several times & this salon is average, nothing special. I decided to give this place a shot rather than go to Polaris across the street. I came in around 4 pm and was seated immediately for a pedicure. It was full, which was a good sign and the place was pretty big. The girl who did my feet was so rough though! It hurt several times and I was getting pissed after telling her several times to not be so rough. Her heavy hands were great though on my leg and foot massage. I really enjoyed that. When I was finished, she walked me over to the uv lamps to dry my toes. Then she disappeared although I caught sight of her a couple times in the back on the phone. After 10 minutes, I asked one of the managers if I could pay (since she was already at the register). She said sure and I waited while she wrapped up what she was doing. A few minutes later, I looked over and saw she had walked back to finish someone's manicure without helping me. I kept trying to wave to her and get her attention but she either didn't notice or ignored me. After another 5 minutes, I asked the guy who was previously massaging shoulders if I could pay. I guess they only trust certain employees to run people's cards because he told the woman I had asked previously. The woman sent someone else to run my card and then asked the guy to give me a shoulder massage while I waited. I declined because I was really irritated at this point. Then I saw my pedicure was $40! Holy crap, are you serious????? Maybe I should have received that shoulder massage already. I mean what the hell is included in a $40 pedicure? I never go to new salons because my current nail tech is fabulous and I regret branching out. Aside from the service being bad, the technician that did my dip powder did a horrible job. Proper tools were not used and the finished product looks like a 5 year old did it. Very textured looking and sloppy around the cuticles. Update! I gave this place another shot and got a pedicure and gel manicure. Pedicure was great and lasted a while. The gel started peeling within days, as per usual with gel manicures at Heritage. However, I did actually get an amazing massage while my toes dried. I mean AMAZING. Made up for all the other ones I didn't receive when I should have. However, I went back tonight for the same service. They told me 15-20 min wait. Perfect. I checked with the owner/manager if it was ok if I left to run an errand. She said yes and even took my name. I was back in under ten minutes. Waited another 20. Then, they took another girl for a pedicure before me. I realized she came in after me and they didn't put two and two together. I asked the same woman how much longer my wait would be. She said "oh yea oops, sorry. Another 15." Um, no. That's 45 min, and based on her last calculation, probably an hour in actuality. I walked out. DONE WITH THIS PLACE and I suggest you don't bother either. read more

I have been going to Heritage for a few years. They consistently do a good job on my gel manicures and pedicures. My gel lasts on average 2 1/2 weeks and I normally change them just because they dry out not because they chip. The one thing that bothers me is how some of the older technicians shrug or scowl when you do not tip them more than 18-20% (the industry tip average). They also tend to shorten the massage session and seem rushed. The younger staff and men are always so gracious and appreciative, but the older women stare at my wallet and give me that "You're not going to tip me more?" look. Overall a consistently great salon, but I wish the older technicians were more friendly! read more

This updated review isnt for a mani/pedi. I went in yesterday just to get my former gel mani taken off (at no charge which was nice). I understood they were about to close and there was a wait, but the guy removing my old mani was so rough with the nail file i had bleeding gashes on the skin under many of my nails. It was hurting me as he was doing it but i didnt say anything (i should have!) this definitely can cause an infection. Not good since in almost 8 months pregnant. I was happy with my services before but ill be hesitant to come back again. read more

I have been here a few times for a mani and pedi. The pedi was fine, but didn't stay on as long as I anticipated. I have had 2 gel manicures. I'm used to a nail salon in Center City I really enjoy, but we just moved to the area, so I came here instead. At my old salon for the same exact price, they immediately offered you a drink (tea, coffee, water, mimosa, wine, etc.). Here, they didn't offer me a thing, and when I asked, all she could give me was water. Here the utensils they used were already out. Again, at my old place, each utensil was sterilized and opened before my eyes. After the service, they also complained about my tip not being enough. I won't be coming back here. read more

Horrible customer service, very dirty, and poor manicure. First, they delayed my appointment by 15 minutes. When I was finally seated a different customer walked in with a messed up nail from earlier in the day. They paused my appointment mid manicure, re-did the other customer's nails and then proceeded to finish mine. Cleanliness was a major issue, they did not clean the tools and reused buffer and file from other customers. He also handled money and answered the phone while doing my nails- gross.
