I thought this pizza was just ok. They did not have non dairy cheese options, so I had to order without "cheese." I liked that they had a whole wheat crust option! Even so, the other toppings were sparse. I ordered the small size and it was primarily crust, just a teeny circle of toppings and sauce in the middle. If not for the honey on the table (win!) It would have been a bummer dinner. The place is huge, the bathrooms are clean, it's very kid friendly. The wait was a little silly, we were super early to dinner on a weekday and had a 15 min wait. There is a fire blazing inside that makes the whole place just too darn hot. And really? With the dollar bills covering the walls as "decor"? We are still doing that? So lame. I was going to leave just 3 stars, but for the area this place isn't too bad. Winter Park has precious little good places for families in my opinion, at reasonable prices. read more

We ordered 3 pies our first night getting into town and it was great pizza. Price is what is expected in a resort town. Whether you live here or are on vacation and you want some awesome pizza then this is the place in our opinion. Excellent Pizza. We couldn't choose what kind we wanted so we ordered a half Hawaiian, half Jerry's. Spot on delicious. I normally don't eat pineapple on pizza but wanted to try it since I'd never had almonds with pineapple. Who would have thought this combination would be so good. This place is fun!!!! Kids menu had fettuccine alfredo and ravioli and spaghetti. Adult menu had gf pizza that didnt taste gf. The Manhattan was on point. It was my daughter's birthday and we didnt have a dollar. A complete stranger gave us one and my lil girl had fun decorating it and stapling it to the wall. The topping options they have on pizza is plentiful from garlic to green Chile to pineapple. Gotta say well be back. Plus you smell them once you're in the parking lot. read more

Holy heaven.....I'm so glad this place isn't close to home. I'd weigh an extra 100lbs and I don't even like Italian food that much. The pizza here is top notch! You can order different style sauce/crust and the toppings are so fresh. We were amazed. They stuffed cheese into the crust with some lip smacking delicious pesto and it was so light, fluffy and crispy I don't know how they did it. We also had he pasta with clam sauce which was very good. Wish I had more room to try the ravioli but next time! Our friends ordered the thin crust with pepperoni and mushrooms and the shrooms looked like they just cut them for the pie. The crust was perfect with a nice spicy sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Can't wait to go back! The place is nice and toasty and right next to the bus stop so no waiting in the cold for a ride after your delicious meal. read more

OMG this place was so good. We ordered Greek salad and two pies. The salad was great and the family size portion was perfect for the six of us. The first pie was a Hernando's traditional crust with the "Jerry's" toppings of sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms. The second one was my absolute favorite- "Simone" crust with Mediterranean toppings. The garlic in combination with the toppings of spinach, onion, sausage, and pepperonconis was to die for. I also loved the way they make the crust... they roll the sauce (for traditional) and garlic butter (for Simone) INTO the crust so every bite has great flavor. Must try in Winter park. read more

The pizza was good but a bit to much crust. Especially where they rolled it. Less roll and more room for pizza would be good. Greek salads fresh and good flavor. It was busy and glad we phoned ahead to get on the list. When we arrived it was an hr plus but with our phone ahead. We sat in 10 minutes. Very disappointing. Took the Lift to pick up some pizza. Ordered with Cody while on the bus. I was told it would be 20 minutes. Arrived at restaurant and it was extremely crowded and chaotic as there appeared to be a party of 20 waiting to be seated. Went to the bar where we checked in with a very busy bartender. I gave my name and he said he had two orders for me, and confirmed what I wanted but it appeared that he was actually just ringing in my order then. Husband ordered a beer. After waiting for 20 minutes, we asked about pizza and chicken wings. Was told it was coming up. After 30 minutes asked again --was told it was coming up. Finally 48 minutes after originally placing the order, it came out. We still had to ask for a bag! Pizzas were smaller than expected. Very little cheese and the sauce was sweet tasting, with not enough flavor. Crust was thick. Overall group consensus was not great pizza. read more

Our large party (20 pp+) had supper at Hernando's over the weekend, and it was a completely successful event. Multiple families sent orders the previous evening, so the restaurant could properly prepare the evening of. Restaurant had plenty of seating, and the hostess provided additional seating in case it was needed. The staff was friendly, helpful, organized and most of all very cool and collected with the crowd. Everyone's order was correct (variety of food items ordered), freshly prepared, delicious and looked great. Our party had great time, and it was a great venue to finish our mountain bike season. Hernando's is a wonderful place to take the family for pizza and other Italian delights. Cowboy the owner makes sure it has an amazing family atmosphere and kind, attentive wait staff. It is frequented by locals and we bring guests with us too. I deeply appreciate that Cowboy kept his whole staff on payroll during the pandemic -- I know it stretched his ability to stay in business but it blessed his staff and community. I like Hernando's. So, why the two star rating. We just got charged a small fortune in soda refills. Today I pretty much expect free refills. At the very least you TELL the customer they aren't free. When we hit Winter Park for snowboarding or mountain biking I get excited because that means a trip to Hernando's. All I can think is "nom, nom, nom, nom"!! Depends on your standards for pizza - if you enjoy average pizza you might give it 3 stars but hard to see how it could rate any higher. There seems to be a long wait every night - at least in the winter. On two different nights the hostess told us 1-1.5 hours wait but if we could find a seat at the bar we could take it and that's what we did. They have a decent beer selection on draught. We tried the garlic house specialty pizza on a rolled crust after the waiter would not allow us to order a pizza with half red, half white sauce toppings. It was ok but nothing to write home about. The crust was plain and abundant. We would have liked to try the thin crust but there probably won't be a second time. The bartender/waiter was far from enthusiastic about his job, doing the bare minimum and almost throwing the plates in front of us. The ambiance is casual and the place has a relaxed environment to hang out with friends after skiing. However, the food is subpar. read more

Hernandos is CRAZY busy just about every night of the week it seems during the high tourist seasons (ski season and summer). I see what the hype is about: It's a cool atmosphere (20,000 dollar bills on the wall), they serve good pizza, and they do it with a smile. That being said, there's not a ton of great dining options in winter park, so it shouldn't be surprising that a place that has it together like Hernandos would be popular. I think the place is great, just doesn't get 5 stars for me because I don't find the pizza terribly impressive. It's good and I definitely enjoy it every time, just not knock your socks off good. Hernandos is a must try if you are in winter park, it's just not the ONLY restaurant worth going to in town like some would have you believe :) read more

I haven't been to Hernandos in a long time. We ordered take out. This time I tried a new pizza, the Mediterranean and substituted pepperoni instead of sausage. It rocked! Olives, spinach, feta, red onion and pepperoni. I had 3 pieces and was excited for my next day leftovers. My son ate a midnight snack of both pizzas and by the time I woke all the pizza had been devoured. He ordered peppers and pineapple. My pizza was the best!!. I still think Hernandos has the best pizza in Winter Park. I love the crust dipped in ranch too. I usually don't eat pizza crust but I like Hernandos yummy crust. read more

Have stopped in here many times during trips to the cabin north of Winter Park and I'd say it's one of the better places to eat in the Fraser Valley. Huge selection of foods, great pizza and a pretty neat atmosphere ($20,000+ in decorated dollar bills covering the walls and ceilings). There's a great area outside to sit and enjoy your meal along with a well stocked bar. They also have the usual crayon/papers for the kids to keep busy for a few minutes. Just remember that SOMEONE has to order the pizza with some crust suitable for dipping in the provided honey. Yum. P.S. Hernando's is an open but cozy, casual pizza place and bar. The dark wood interior is covered with decorated dollar bills left by patrons over the years. The pizza is very good. There are several styles of crust/sauce/seasonings but we just tried the traditional one. Prices for pizza are good; soft drinks, salads, etc. are a little pricey for what you get. Hernando's is only open at dinner, opening at 5 during the week and 4 on weekends. Definitely a worthwhile stop after a long day of skiing. read more

Let me start by saying that I'm a pizza snob who is originally from NY - so my standards for pizza are very high. We showed up on the evening of Thursday 1/7/16 - around 4:15PM. We were seated immediately and the wait staff was quick, courteous and helpful. The atmosphere is really nice and the $1 bills that adorn most surfaces were a real hit with us. Now on to the Pizza: -------------------------- The crust is good but there's far too much of it. I don't know about you but when I order a 10", make your own pizza, I'm not expecting a 4" outer edge of crust. There was just too much crust and not enough inner circle. The inner circle - about 6" - was too thin to support the meager toppings and I ended up having to eat the pizza with a fork... which as most pizza connoisseurs know is blasphemy! It was so thin in the middle that it would have been impossible to pick up by hand. I ordered 5 toppings but could only see 4 of them when delivered to the table. I had to search the pizza for that 1 last topping and it was so small I wondered how they could actually charge me for it. The toppings were not easily identifiable by taste - rather bland - which usually indicates they were frozen at some time. The amount of toppings provided for the price were not worth it. Don't get more than 1 or 2 toppings if you don't care for plain pizza. Over all the pizza was "Okay" for a family dinner but taste wise - it's not anything special. read more
