Finally made it back! Had my husband drive me 2 hours in a snow storm to get the lasagna again. He had the stromboli and loved it. He has been in the resturant business for 25 years and is not easily impressed but said this place although packed had a home town feel. John our bartender was fantastic! We had dinner at Hernando's while visiting the area. This was our second night of searching for places that are actually open for summer visitors. It was a big frustration for us on the trip. We ordered pasta as we had eaten pizza a couple times already on the trip. When we inquired about a side salad our server referred us to the menu where all of the salads had salami and other things we weren't interested in. A small side salad would be a nice offering for fruit/veggie starved travelers! Our pasta arrived fairly soon and it was tasty - from the pesto to meat sauce to marinara and a chicken parmesan. However the portions for the pasta dishes were quite small especially considering that salad nor bread came with the dish. Our son could have easily eaten two of these helpings without batting an eye. Each of us ate our entire meal and this is something that never happens! The atmosphere of the place was fun. This is it y'all. Went here for an Italian fix and was it worth it. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with added chicken and sundries tomatoes. It tasted SO good and flavorful. The rest of the table ordered pizza and garlic cheesy breadsticks which were basically garlic cheese pizza. #lifechanging. The service was genuine, fast, and good. I forgot our waitresses name but she was great. We waited for about 20 minutes on a Tuesday evening, but I think they take reservations and if you are a walk in, there's a bar inside. My wife had the Stromboli and while good we would call it a calzone - a lot of fried breading. I got a pizza, would prefer the crust be more crisp but overall very good. This was by far my favorite place we visited during our 4 day stay in Winter Park. The food and drinks were amazing- started with the cheesy garlic bread and then for my entree I had the spaghetti & meat sauce. Both were amazing but I especially loved the marinara/spaghetti sauce. The atmosphere is really cool, with bar seating as well as tables. There are dollar bills all over the ceiling, walls, and rafters. Those were really cool to look at. The best part of our experience, though, was our server Steff (Steph?), from Wisconsin. She was SO SWEET and friendly and attentive and we loved getting to talk to her. She took our already awesome experience and put it completely over the top. Thank you!!! read more

We came with a few families, and they wouldn't let us put kids together at a table (right beside us) so we had a really awkward ordering and food setup. The service was great, the garlic bread was awesome and they did not hold back with that cheese, which I respect. We got a green Chile pizza and it was the best thing ever. Pizza selections were extensile; the type of crust, thickness of crust underlying base sauce, and toppings. This review is about service. I walked into Hernando's earlier this evening to order a couple take-away pies for my son and I. First time visitor. Bartender forgot to put the order through and literally bought our dinner to make sure we'll come back. Will we? OF COURSE!! and you should too. The pies were excellent, totally hit the spot, and I'm sure lots of people have commented the same. However, what really struck me is these guys understand customer service the way a new restaurant trying to make things stick in NYC does. You get one chance to impress with customer service, and that leads to several chance to impress with the food. These guys "get it" and it makes sense that they're totally packed on a Monday night and probably have been for decades. The walls are covered in dollar bills, but the real money is the staff. You all won a lifetime customer tonight (at least any time I'm back in Granby), so thank you for caring and making my first impression absolutely stellar. Keep it up! read more

Bar tender was very rude when we walked in for no reason! (Short chubby guy with grey beard) He was complaining about tourist and how much he hates legal cannabis for colorado. Which made me feel targeted and uncomfortable because I had just left a dispensary down the street. PSSSSH. We all had half a pizza leftover. So basically we had some bomb leftovers. We all also shared a house green salad because we were tryin to be healthy before we gorged ourselves on pizza. I got the white dough, mountain style and smothered in garlic and black pepper goodness. I know you're supposed to save your crust and put honey on it- but my garlic crust wasn't meant for that! I would give NO star if I was able to!!!!! Family went in and asked how old you have to be to sit at bar hostess said doesn't matter at that point we ordered drinks bartender then took forever then another woman came out asked us to move! We waited for a good 15 minutes before anyone greeted us as my daughter went up to bar asking where our drinks was at that we ordered LONG ago and then they eventually sent a server! We at that point asked for the drinks that we had ordered at this point 30-40 minutes prior to her approaching our table, at this point the lady that had asked us to move said we had disrespected the staff and said she was getting manager and asked us to leave before they called the cops! What kind of crap is this???? I have served for 20+ years and NEVER have I had MY manager just immediately kick guest out instead they want to get to the bottom of it to see if the staff is in the wrong or the guest!!!! I truly feel disrespected as my kids do as well then to top things off we as adults was trying to explain our frustration to the manager and HE DID NOT WANT to hear it AT ALL!!! PLEASE TELL ME OR EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS WAS???????? I'm very offended as well as MY KIDS!!!!!!!
