We went on Tuesday, last week. We were seated promptly since it was just 2 of us. We waited and waited for service. After 20 minutes hubby went to the bar for our drinks. Waited another 20 minutes for service. I told our server Christy we had been waiting for 40 minutes. She seemed surprised and asked if John had waited on us. We debated whether or not to order or just finish our beer and go. We went ahead and ordered and also flagged down John to ask if our table was his territory that night. He said it usually was but not this night. We aren't the complaining sort so we didn't argue over the bill. Just won't ever go there again. I tried to visit last night, 3/17/17, but it was packed - 1 hour wait at 7pm. So, I returned at 5pm 3/18/17. The staff is very friendly. The Fat Tire on tap was delicious. The pizza is ok. So my wife and I were 4 miles up Jack Creek the other day. We found a quite spot in the woods and sat down against a bank of aspen trees to enjoy a little afternoon delight. As I bent her over a mossy stump to gain access to the sweet alleyway of love we startled a large bull moose that was napping just a few feet away. Well, I was sure stunned, I think Mildred almost had a heart attack! And I'll be damned, but that dagnabbit moose made an awful yelp, then he jumped up from his slumber and urinated right on my sweet Mildred's head. I tried to save her, I saw that moose lift his leg and I new it was coming, but my pants were at my ankles and I fell over ass first into a mushroom patch. Poor Mildred, stuck in the mooses bullseye, screeched out loud! The screech was enough to scare Bullwinkle and that moose high tailed it out of there. I bumped my head on Mildred's knee bone trying to stand up. Mildred was slipping around on the mossy stump and she fell over into the patch of urine stained mushrooms that was at our feet. Boy she smelled something awful! We hiked out of the woods together scaring every person we passed, boy we looked a mess. I threw Mildred into the back of the truck and we headed home. That evening we tried to scrub her down with marinara sauce but it only made her smell like an Itallian piss job. It had been such a long day, Mildred still stunk of moose piss, and we were all out of marinara sauce. Damn. Luckily Hernando's was open! Matt welcomed us at the bar even though Mildred smelled like a urinal from Wrigley Field. He told us jokes and made my wife smile. We ate anti-pasta and drank beers and the stink of the day seemed to just wash away. We will definitely be back! Thanks Hernando's! read more

Was seated at a table that was too small for our group. Requested to be moved and was denied because it would be too much work to clean the other seating area. Refused to split check. Food is over priced and our waitress was incredibly unhelpful after our group qualified for automatic 20% gratuity. Would not recommend this place to a friend. read more

We were in town for a girls weekend in June and grabbed pizza to go from Hernando's on a Saturday night. The pizza itself was excellent and the gluten free crust tasted awesome (just wish they had a full-size GF crust option). So. So. GOOD! The we got whatever the garlic/double cheese style was called, and we're so impressed. Our server pointed out that the honey was for the crust, and I'm glad she did! Took the kids here a couple times, and they enjoyed the pizza. Beer draft selection is modest but adequate. It can be a but loud, but that's because it's almost always crowded for dinner, which says something about the quality though. Very popular locals spot. read more

Fun Environment with all the dollar bills stapled and taped to every surface. Excited to take my kids for the first time. Greeted warmly by the host. Seated quickly on a crowed night. Drink order placed and delivered. My wife asked for a straw and the evening turned unpleasant. Young lady serving us rudely replied that she did not believe in straws and wanted to protect the environment. We agreed and pushed for 5 straws. 5 "baby turtle killers" were delivered with huge attitude. I asked if it was company policy to be spoken to so rudely about the request of a straw. She stated - no, just my opinion. Attitude the rest of the night. Spoke to the manger as we left, explained the reason no tip. Manager did not seem overly concerned about her rude employee. May go back but I'm brining my own straw. We were afraid to order meat on the pizza - did not want to get a lecture about the safety and protection of our dear four legged friends. Disappointed in this place and their reservations. We called at 5 pm and they told us we should make a reservation so we did. They said that 715 pm would be the best time so we accepted. This is some of the best pizza I have ever eaten in my life! The atmosphere is one of a kind with decorated dollar bills covering all of the walls and a fire in the middle of the restaurant. Make sure that you use the honey on your crust it makes it one of a kind. Will definitely return when we come back to Winter Park read more

The decor with bills plastered literally everywhere is really neat. We ordered the chicken broccoli alfredo pizza which was very good. The crust is very wide. The crust supported the sauce and toppings quite adequately. I learned afterwords from other reviewers the bottles on the table were honey to put on that crust. Would be great if the bottle was labeled. I would have tried it then. A $20 label maker would solve that issue easily. Service was good. Normally one of our favorite dining establishments in Winter Park, but Hernando's missed the mark on our last visit. In particular, the food was average and the service was lousy! Our waiter was slow in bringing us our drinks and didn't offer any refills - even though they advertised bottomless sodas on the menu. We ordered a family size Garden Salad as an appetizer, only to have our waiter not bring us any plates. We had to specifically ask for salad plates so we didn't have to share off the large serving platter. However, the real kicker was when our server brought out the wrong size pizza (we ordered a 10" and he brought out a 14"), we immediately pointed this out and he said we would only be charged for the 10". But, when we received our bill (you guessed it), we were charged for a 14". I considered this to be very disappointing. If you make a mistake and say you are going to do something to correct it, then follow through with what you say you are going to do. It was a busy Saturday night (which is typical during ski season), but IMO, busy is not an excuse for poor service. We also had a large party (9 people) and they sat us around two small tables (side by side) - not an ideal seating arrangement. And because of the limited room on the tables, our server actually took away our appetizer plates before we were finished eating because there wasn't enough room on the table for all the plates, glasses, silverware, etc. when the main course was served. Next time we're in Winter Park, we'll be eating out elsewhere. read more

I enjoy the spaghetti and meatball here. At my visit, I also ordered a pizza to take home. The center of the crust was mush. The quantity of the ingredients were barely visible. The red sauce didn't cover the base of the pizza, and the crust overlapped a third of the pie surface. When the inattentive waitress brought the change from my cash payment of the check, she apparently didn't think I needed the coinage (nearly a dollar's worth). As a side note, the restaurant was not busy that evening. When I want a pizza now, I buy one in a cardboard box from the local grocery, cook it at home, and have a better meal. As a local resident, I will not eat here again, nor will I recommend it to friends who come to visit. I suppose it's good enough for the tourists who don't know any better... read more
