Came in here for breakfast last Sunday and ordered a Bloody Marry. Big mistake. I don't think I have ever abandoned a cocktail before, but I just couldn't finish it. I think there was a solid half-inch of roughly cracked pepper at the bottom, it was like drinking gravel. And I'm not sure if they realize that there are more ingredients in a Bloody Mary than pepper, vodka, and Tabasco. 3rd strike. I'm done. Won't be back. Heroe's has a very untraditional way of waiting tables. Instead of being assigned a waiter like any other restaurant, all wait staff is responsible for all tables. This creates a situation where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. You have one person taking your drink order, another person taking your food order, and yet another person bringing your food to the table. This creates so much confusion, you end up policing the wait staff yourself. Instead of one person doing all three like in a normal restaurant, you have to remind the person bringing you food who had what. It happens every time. This is also the second time in the past three visits that we've all received food except one of us because there was confusion and somebody's order got looked over. So here we are, an entire party served food except one, and they don't even notice on their own that there is obviously one person whose order didn't get brought to the table. Maybe they are assuming that the one party didn't order food, but they would know that the one party DID order food and is missing his food if it were just one server per table. Because the person serving the table is not the person taking the order, they have no clue if the one party is missing an order or if they simply didn't order any food. In any case, you think they would notice this and at least ask, but they don't, so when they ask if everything's okay, you have to say, "Can my friend please get his order?" This makes it awkward for the rest of the table who has their food, because you don't want to be rude and eat when there is still one party at your table with nothing to eat. This happened twice in the last three visits. To make things even more annoying, usually you would have one server take your drink order, food order, and bring your food, then come back a few minutes later and ask if everything tastes okay, ask if you need anything like ketchup, drink refill, etc... You don't get that here. What you get is every server stopping by your table every two minutes to ask if everything's okay and if you need anything. This is really aggravating when you're at a table with a group of friends trying to carry on a conversation, but you can't because you're interrupted by yet another server asking if everything's okay or if you need anything. Yeah, I need something. I need you to get my order right and quit coming by every two or three minutes. The only thing I've been able to come up with as to why their service is this way is that they must have a "tip share" program, meaning instead of Sally getting a great tip because she's an awesome server, Sally is made to put her tip into a community fund that gets divided up equally between all servers at the end of the shift. This is my assumption. If I am correct, what this does is drive the level of service down, not up, because why would Sally work harder than John if John is a shitty server but he's going to get the same tip as she is when she's done a better job? It lowers the morale. It's called socialism, and it doesn't work. So that is the main issue with Heroe's is their service and constant confusion because of the way it's set up, orders are always incorrect and/or completely forgotten. I mentioned that this was a third strike, so let me explain the three different visits that I left unsatisfied, and yes, it was three visits in a row, and something went wrong all three times. The first thing was my husband and I went for dinner. It was really busy, so we kind of hung out at the bar waiting for a table to open up. A table opened up, and I immediately staked a claim to it by sitting at the table even though there were still plates and cups left there to be picked up. Anyone that's been to open-seating bar knows this is normal practice. First come, first served so you've got to be quick. I've never been to a place that didn't have open seating at the bar. Ever. Well, a server came to remove the dishes and informed me it wasn't open seating. I was surprised, but okay, no problem. I didn't know. But it's what he said that made me upset. Instead of saying, "Sorry, ma'am. There's no open seating at the bar," he literally said, "you can't sit here. Didn't you read the sign?" and then pointed to a sign behind me, above my head. No, A-hole. I didn't read the sign. I didn't even SEE the sign. Thanks for being rude, though. So that was strike one. Rude for no good reason. Strike two, we came with a big group of friends, we all put an order in. We all got food except one. Waited another 20 minutes for the food. By the time the sandwich arrived, everyone was done eating. Third strike- all got food except one, again! I asked for medium well steak, I got well done. Never ate the steak. Got charged for ranch, but didn't order it. Food is good, if they make it the way you ordered it, but good luck with that. Service is a "clusterfuck." read more

I enjoyed the ambience here. It's a good place to relax with friends and hangout casually. I am a vegetarian so I was a little disappointed with their menu, there weren't much options for me. But that is the case with most breweries so nothing exceptional here. The only recommendation I have is for the service- it can be better here. Used to come here all the time when they HAD great customer service. We came here for a birthday party just to leave irritated and unsatisfied. Our server was great until another server stepped in to help out and he turned out to be the most unprofessional waiter we've ever had. Apparently if you have a party of 8 or more you have to figure out your own tab on YOUR OWN including tax AND 18% tip. I would have gladly paid in full if the server didn't toss a calculator at us with our bill and continue to insult the party. I had been hearing good things about this place so I decided to try it out lastnight. It was pretty busy when we got there for dinner around 7:30 and we were informed it would be about a 30 minute wait. While we waited, we ordered drinks at the bar then we're seated shortly after. All the staff here were very friendly and attentive. Everyone has a smile on their face and seemed enthusiastic which was great. Our server took our order and explained different items on the menu to us. The food arrived fast and the servers made sure to bring us everything we would need so we didn't have to ask for anything extra. The food was delicious!!! The portions were huge and definitely enough for two people to share. We ordered an appetizer and shared a burger. The appetizer was a meal in itself. For a couple of dollars more, they give you the option to split your entrée and if you decide on that, each person gets a side of their choosing. I absolutely loved this place. And after dinner you can hang out at either of the two bars. The atmosphere was lively, music was good, the place was clean, service was friendly and prompt, and the food was fabulous. My review is based solely on service experience. Yesterday we had my coworkers going away party at heroes at 6pm on a Monday night. The reservation was for 6pm and when myself and 8 of the invited 18 show up the hostess informs me that we can not be seated or allowed into the restaurant uh n till 14 to 16 show up. At this point I knew it was going to be bad due to her attitude and the fact I'd never h3ard of this rule before. Regardless I was hoping things would have changed. Once inside we waited about 30 mins to order, which I understood because we had a large group and it was a busy night. However, that is not where my complaint is. My complaint to is we asked for an outside heater at our end, they had plenty turned off in the corner. We asked for one for almost an hour when finally our main server came and I asked him if we could please have a heater. He said " a what?".. I said " a heater"..he again said " a what?" I said " a heater ". ..when finally his responce was " where is your jacket?"... I am not easy offended and I can take jokes, but the fact it was now 7 pm, dark and 65 degrees with a slight wind and he kept making me repeat myself, I was shocked. Then to be stuck with the 18% gratuity is just appalling. His overall attitude wasn't bad compared to the female hostess and server helping him, but that wasn't called for. read more

Just left my third time being here and awesome service as always. Ordered a steak (split plate) for $32. Anyways steak was like ridiculously well-done and we ordered medium. All the sides were good but wow took like 40 minutes for replacement to come out. Manager was proactive and gave a $10 discount but wow I left paying $30 after tax and tip and was stuck there for almost 2 hours. It's such a terrible experience to sit waiting for a remake Awkwardly eating sides so they don't get cold and then have entree all by itself way after the fact. Went last Wednesday with a group from work. Initially 8 of us, but worked its way up to 12. Staff accommodated the extra people. Food wasn't bad but nothing spectacular. Portions are massive. Staff was being overworked so in order to get stuff (napkins, utensils, refills, etc.) we had to flag them down. Average service.
