I'm always impressed with Discount Tire wherever we are. I was traveling but in town for a week and…read moreneeded a little minor work so I decided to drop in and get it done. I did make an appointment on their website tool so I was expected. The staff was fast, and attentive and made sure I knew what they did and why. But they made an error. As I started to drive off I could hear a clicking sound that got faster as I sped up like having a playing card on your bike spokes as a kid. And I knew exactly what it was, the tire balance weights were hitting the brake rotors. There was no way to hear it at 2-3 MPH when pulling in and out of a bay. I had not left the shopping center they are in, drove down to the next entrance, and started pulling back in. The young man who helped me ran out the door to see what was wrong and immediately heard the sound. He was quick to apologize and pulled me into an open bay. The manager came out to see what the fuss was and then he came and apologized to me as well. It was a minor fix, they missed that they (another Discount Tire location) had upgraded tires and wheels that were not the stock sizes and put on the stock weights for the original tires. They quickly pulled the tires, reinstalled the correct weights rebalanced the tires, and got me out fast. Other places would have pretended they didn't screw up or try to shift blame. They did not, they owned it, fixed it fast, and were humble and professional about getting me back on the road.

I was in a bind with a flat tire 38 miles from home, on a Sunday. This awesome shop is open seven…read moredays! A friend at church fortunately had one of those portable inflation doodads, and filled the tire so I was able to head straight to Goodyear. Adam, the service manager, greeted me very cheerfully and I explained my situation, including that I couldn't just leave the car and come back due to the distance. He put me very much at ease (as you can imagine I was pretty frazzled), got my info right away and summoned a technician to take my car to the work area. I was able to relax in air conditioned comfort and even got a free cup of coffee while waiting. Before long, it was announced that the culprit was a leaking valve, which they promptly fixed. It was $25. They also checked/filled the other tires. A couple of people came in to pick up their cars while I was waiting and several phone calls came in. I noticed the high level of customer care that Adam showed to everyone he was dealing with, including me. I have a feeling this is a very high quality operation for purchase of tires as well and they also do other types of auto work. Recommended.

I was disappointed with my recent experience at this Goodyear location. I brought my vehicle in…read morebecause of a nail in my tire. Before removing the nail, the technician did not come to me to explain what they found or ask for my approval. I would have appreciated being shown the nail and having the repair options explained before any work was done. After the service, I asked where the nail was because I wanted proof of what had been removed from my tire. I was told they didn't have it and there was nothing they could show me. That left me feeling frustrated because I had no way to verify what had been found or removed. I also felt like the focus quickly shifted to recommending that I replace all four tires. While I understand that AWD vehicles sometimes require replacing multiple tires depending on tread depth differences, I felt pressured instead of being given a clear explanation with measurements and options. I would have appreciated seeing the tread depth readings and understanding why they believed all four tires needed replacement. As a Deaf customer, I expect to be treated with the same honesty, respect, and clear communication as any other customer. Please don't talk down to Deaf customers or try to smooth things over instead of providing straightforward information. Clear explanations, transparency, and respect go a long way. I also believe one of the employees would benefit from additional training in customer service, communication, and disability awareness. Because of this experience, I decided to take my business to a local family-owned tire shop instead. They explained everything clearly, showed me what they found, answered my questions, and did an excellent job. That experience reminded me how important honest communication and customer service really are.
