This gem gets crowded for a very good reason. Its amazing and always worth the wait if you have the time and patience to do so. We were pleasantly surprised to see the outdoor addition. The fireplace and heaters made it cozy and gave us a moment of calm in the frenzy of a weekend at Hersheypark. Service is always consistently friendly and attentive. I had brunch here with my husband this morning. It's the not the first time that I've been here, but it is the first time in about ten years. The parking lot and restaurant were both quite full, and we were left to park in the parking lot designated for the hotel next door. We checked in at around 10:52am and we were told there would be about a 35 minute wait. We opted to wait since we had driven 40 minutes or so with the sole purpose of eating here. The hostess asked if we had any preference for being seated inside, or outside and we said we were okay with the screened seating, but would prefer not to be outside. We got the notification that our seat was ready at 11:30am and it was outside. We didn't make a big deal about it and just waited another 5 minutes for a different seat to open inside. My husband ordered a lemonade and The Pantry Sampler and I went with a cranberry juice, the Sourdough Bread French Toast, and bacon. The food was okay, but not amazing. We stayed next door at the neighboring hotel and ordered takeout for breakfast. Order was called in at peak time on a Saturday morning at 930a. We were given a 30 minute estimate for our order to be ready, which we didn't think was too bad, considering we could see the line out the door for diners waiting. We ordered 2 kids chocolate chip pancake orders, a stuffed French toast, a regular French toast, and crab Benedict. The Benedict was spectacular with fresh crab. The stuffed french toast was delicious and perfectly balanced - not over stuffed or too sweet. The kids pancakes were ginormous and they loved the added chocolate chips. Serving sizes were very generous, the bacon was thick cut. Only miss was no syrup and condiments included in the takeout, thus the one star deduction. Glad we were only next door. This is just my experience. It was a Sunday just after 12pm 2/18/24. The hostess took our name, said 20 minutes which with the crowd was very reasonable. We were seated by the door inside. I choose this option because my wife gets cold and although the patio is heated, the servers come in and out from the outside. Even by the door we weren't cold. The table next to us were 6 college aged young adults drinking with their brunch. Fine. But because of this, and the one young adult who didn't have an inside voice or laugh, my wife and I couldn't even hear each other or the waitress speak. The food was underwhelming. My wife specifically ordered a omelette without meat as she doesn't eat meat. There was a piece of sausage in it. My Benedict had what looked like store bought or processed hollandaise sauce. It looked broken or maybe loose. The eggs were barely poached (which I didn't mind I love that runny egg) but I know some people would not enjoy how runny the whites were. The cinnamon bun was huge! And it was good. Again maybe it was just bad timing, but that table next to us and the sub-par food for a busy breakfast/brunch place won't have us trying it again. Not sure what happens to the Pantry. you used to always see familiar faces, the whole management team has seemed to picked up and left. it's a shame, the pantry really peaked during covid. i remembered coming in and seeing the owners and just 1 other young guy working and the quality, speed and cleanliness was better then your fully staffed store now. Food quality has taken a nose dive. price's have gone up. The place is dirty and is in need of some upkeep, tiles falling off, walls need painted, bathrooms are gross and falling apart. The new "management" seems overwhelmed and under qualified. Came here for Saturday morning brunch, it's a pleasant and cozy space that's bustling inside on a busy day. Table for 2 took ~25min and they take your phone number to text you when the table is ready, really convenient! Unfortunately overall it was an average food experience and not really worth the steeper prices. We got a variety of things and there were goods, okays, and wouldn't-get-agains: Good: Benedict - great hollandaise sauce with a perfectly poached egg. Coffee- drip was smooth and not bitter or too acidic Okay: Cinnamon Roll- way too overhyped. We got a lukewarm roll with a wallop of cream cheese frosting on it. The food here was so bad that my girlfriend and I had two bites and pushed our plates aside, despite ordering different meals. I had the "garden" omelet which was severely lacking in the "garden" aspect. It was incredibly bland, with no seasoning whatsoever and the vegetables inside were very undercooked. The home-fries (which are, strangely, thinly sliced potatoes) were flavorless and dry, wayyy overcooked, and covered in nearly raw onions. Again, no seasoning. I ordered a raspberry iced tea which tasted like iced liquid sugar, no hint of tea at all. My girlfriend asked for scrambled eggs and what they brought out looked like an empty omelet. You don't make scrambled eggs by making an omelet with nothing in it... the only redeeming thing in her plate was the toast, the one thing they had no hand in creating.. We had literally two bites then asked for the check. Our waitress asked if we wanted boxes and when we declined, did not make any mention of how our plates were as full as when she dropped them off three minutes before. It was tragically awful food! We haven't had such a disappointing dining experience in.. I can't remember. Food is good. Service is good. Prices have become too high. Every time we come, it seems that the prices soar. They now charge for onions in home fries. We feel uninformed by the server to make homefries "loaded" where they add diced onion and jarred peppers to potatoes. They add $2.40 on top of the already expensive prices for that! Crazy! I'll just start with the good. The service was impeccable and the staff was extremely tentative and really nice. The environment and aesthetic of the establishment was beautiful. Even the pricing of the menu wasn't overbearing, it was affordable. Now here's what you don't want to hear, the food was terrible. The fruit was soggy and mushy. It had been soaking in syrup, not water or fruit juices. The 'poached eggs' on the Benedict were so undercooked it made me nauseous. The outer layer of the egg was cooked with the slimiest runny whites I have ever seen. The eggs Benedict had to be the worst situation with our food. Lastly, the biscuits and gravy was meh. We came here for Saturday brunch with our friends. The place is beautiful and we were sat pretty quickly for a Saturday mid morning. We all loved our meals. There were 6 of us so I don't remember everything ordered, but pancakes and Benedict's were galore. I got the sausage biscuits with gravy. It was amazing, until I got to the bottom and saw someone's hair. I'm not someone to complain, so I just stopped eating it. Thus, the 4 star rating. I get it, it happens. Went here for breakfast because I was really looking forward to their seasonal mimosa flight and seasonal fancy coffees. Service issues: We got seated immediately as it was just about 9 am. We planned to have mimosas and our breakfast and order coffee and mimosas (from the flight we liked) during our breakfast. Our server was definitely busy and so I understand that, but when they came back they asked how we wanted to do check and asked us if we needed boxes. So I was like okay, yeah they're busy I won't order anything more to drink and finish up our flights. We paid and we're drinking the rest of our flights and were told "you have to leave the host said they need your table because there's a wait". I'm pretty upset as we paid over $100 for BREAKFAST and were enjoying our drinks (not trying to pound them down) and were being asked to leave. This was unfortunate. Then it gets worst we were waiting for our ride (as we were being responsible to not drink and drive and get out of the seats they so desperately needed)... There's not really anywhere to wait and it was raining. Several people yelled out generally "area needs to be clear" well I'm sorry we didn't have a car to go into and again were waiting for ride that would have been here to pick us up should we have been able to stay the time we planned to. While waiting for a ride, we heard host say "hour wait to sit and then 30 min for food to come" now I wonder- does that go into their "allotted time" to be a guest? Truly not fair if that's the case even more. Just overall bad taste in my mouth. Don't serve alcohol if you don't want people to enjoy the food and drinks and not leave quickly. I could totally understand if we had just had food them being more rushing , but asking people to essentially chug alcohol is not okay. Won't be coming back. Atmosphere: where we sat definitely had a wasps nest to top it all off. There were several dead ones around us and a couple alive flying around. Food: seasonal cinnamon roll was super dry and overbaked on the outside and was ok. Not worth $14. Other food was fine, but not really better than a diner and certainly more expensive. I want to start by saying the wait staff were sweethearts. I had ordered the liquid gold? I think the name was. Was told it would be cold instead of hot and in a glass instead of a mug due to the machine being out of order, which is fine. But adding more ice and cider means I could no longer taste the whiskey. So I asked for a shot. It came in a wine glass. Obviously this isn't a bar, but shot glasses should be bought on the off chance to avoid customers assuming it accusing of under pouring, the same with seeing someone actually make the drink. Neither I saw being made. So I'm going to assume whiskey was in my cider drink only on good faith. The food was.... nothing to write home about. The chicken was thinly cut so it like looked like I got more but the breast was small, aoli was nice. I can tell the chef loves a good aioli by the amount of it on the lunch menu. I actually didn't get the red pepper that was supposed to go on my sandwich. But I don't think it really was needed and would have made the sandwich soggy so not mad. Hummus was decent, not house made. Nothing wrong with that, you can taste the difference and not once did the menu say house made so no harm done. My wife got the BLT, which she said was the best BLT she's ever had. The pancake portion was large and the kids loved them. Several in our group are celiac and they had some excellent gluten free options including rolls and wraps. There is an outdoor and indoor seating area but unfortunately it seemed that the outdoor area was even more of a wait. $150 bill for 7 people, which was very reasonable for the quality and quantity. A popular place in Hershey for breakfast. I have been a handful of times and it is always good but not great. I always leave feeling full, but also feeling, boy I should have ordered something else. Last time I went I got the BLT Benedict. It was fine but I left thinking I should have just tried the meat omelet. The food is always in large portions. I've gotten the French toast which was good. But a lot of French toast. After a while I just got tired of eating French toast. I would come back. And I would be looking forward trying something new.
