Daniel the service person refused to honor our online reservation, as an AAA customer I launched a complaint with AAA so this rental car service can be removed from AAA as a referral from AAA. Daniel told us to go on home and we'll call you. Instead the staff went home for the weekend. Hertz Rent A Car on Sunnymead Blvd should have a slogan. " It HURTS when you rent from Hertz" By far the worst Car Rental Business i have ever dealt with. I was involved in an accident and the insurance company had me go to Hertz to rent a car while my truck was getting repaired. I dropped my truck off at Raceway Ford and was told they would pick me up. so i gave them a call to let them know that i had dropped my truck off and was ready for a ride. The representative assured me that they will pick me up within 15-20 min. I waited at Raceway Ford for over an hour ! (If you are familiar with the Moreno Valley area you know that a drive from Sunnmead blvd to Raceway ford is no more than 15 Min. WITH traffic.) So i gave Hertz a call to see what was taking so long and the Rep. said that he would be on the way soon, the other Rep. was giving someone else a ride and he would call me when he is on his way. I decided to get a ride from the dealership instead, It literally was a 5 min. drive. Once I arrived, I noticed that there were 2 Reps. in this office. I had to wait another 10 min. because 1 Rep. was helping another customer the the other was on the computer. once that lady was finished the rep. started helping me out. AS I WAS BEING HELPED THE OTHER REP. STARTED CALLING ME TO LET ME KNOW HE WAS ON THE WAY TO PICK ME UP AND HE REALIZED I WAS ALREADY THERE ! The rep. pulled up all my info. and asked if i wanted insurance on the vehicle. I asked how much it was and he said "$17.00". I said " Sure that isn't bad" AFTER he printed the contract and asked me sign he THEN stated " the insurance is $17.00 A DAY" I said " No way man i shouldn't have to pay for the insurance in the first place the accident wasn't my fault." he said " okay let me take the insurance off." They have a sign inside that states " if you Smoke or leave pet hair in the car you will be charged $100.00." We then went outside so he could mark all the scratches on the vehicle. i was so upset with the wait time i didn't check the inside of the car. the backseat of the car was full of dog hair and saliva on the windows! the week went by and i went to return my car, they didn't even check the inside of the car, which goes to show why there was pet hair and saliva all over the back seats. and they tried to charged me $71.53 for the insurance! i told them what happened when i got my vehicle and they scrolled down on the computer and they were like "oh yeah never mind it got cancelled" Overall my balance was $0.00. Its just the fact of how long i had to wait, how dirty my vehicle was, and that they tried to charge me for something i didn't ask for is what made this experience HORRIBLE!!!!!! I will Never Rent A Car From HERTZ again!!! JUST a TIP: If you do plan on renting from here, my advice is to record a video of the the vehicle ( INSIDE AND OUT) in case they try to blame something on you that was from a previous renter! thats what i did in case they try to blame the pet hair on me. read more

I had to put my wife's car in the shop and needed a rental car. I called several locations and these guys had the best price for a full size and to make sure they had the car that I wanted. When I arrived to pick up the car they didn't have the car I needed due to a recall or something and offered me an "upgrade". The upgrade was a 2 year old car with 40,000 miles on it that had a windshield that had the sand pits in it and was very dirty. I rent a lot from Hertz for work and was very disappointed. Maybe the airport locations are just different but this seemed to not have very many options. The rep was actually really nice but their hands were tied and I ended up with a pretty crappy car which is not what I have come to expect with Hertz. read more

Guy on the phone told me they do not swap due maintenance problems which is a complete lie. Seriously no point in even writing this review cause nothing will change. Worst experience. I was in a car accident and the collision shop quoted me a date of July 28 for my car repairs being complete. I booked a car online and did pay now and went to pick up the rental. I get a call from the repair shop saying my vehicle was complete on Monday (four days early) took the rental back just to find out that I can't get my money back for returning it early. I told them that I would just keep the car then and they said sorry you already checked it in so we can't give you the keys back. So I turned the car in early and still got charged for the days that I didn't have it. Stay away from Hertz. read more

Book a rental at Hertz weeks before my daughters wedding for a premium large SUV. The website said I would get a Yukon or "similar" we'll after waiting 1 hour in waiting room they offered me a non-premium SUV that smelled like weed and had bad wear & tear to it. I asked if they had something else, this is for a wedding, the sales person pretended to call someone then said no this is all we have. Then he quickly tried to process the transaction and he also increased the charge by adding "LDW" a special insurance they have for their cars w/out even asking me. I asked why the price doubled he said everyone gets this insurance and I would feel safer with it. I should of paid attention to the reviews...THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION SUCKS! Hertz almost ruined my daughters wedding LUCKILY, Avis car rental at the Moreno Valley mall saved the day! Gave me a brand new SUV, premium with all sorts of discounts...Thanks Andy! read more

I am a return customer for this location. Each time I have rented from them, I have had a great experience. They are a very busy location...but that is good! They have always taken time to be polite, make sure all my questions are answered and have charged me exactly when was agreed. The car I rented was clean and smelled good. I went to visit this branch about a week ago and had a pleasant experience.The office is very small and It was very busy which makes it hard to get out of there with a car quick. When I went in I was helped by Danny and I was very pleased with his customer service, He explained everything to me clearly and let me know exactly what was going on every step of the way. When we checked out the car he gave me, it was not the cleanest, but he went out of his way to help me and cleaned it and got me on my way which is greatly appreciated. I hope that the process becomes faster in the future but once it was my turn to be helped, I was very happy with my visit and the customer service I received. read more

Never again will I do business with this location. I had a reservation at 9am and when I arrived they told me they had absolutely no cars to rent out. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and waited to see if they can find me a car. After 2 hours of waiting I decided to cancel. In those 2 hours they did manage to find me a chevy spark which is the size of a smart car even though when I made the reservation I was told I would get a chevy sonic, Toyota corolla, or Nissan sentra. I ended up at ENTERPRISE and they had good cars at better deals. Never again HERTZ!! read more

I had an urgent meeting in San Diego and I did not want to put miles on my car. So I set out to rent a car. I went in at 1pm on a Tuesday afternoon. There were three workers two people seating ( one on the phone) and one assisting a customer at the counter. I entered and was not greeted by anyone STRIKE 1( stood there for about a minute until I felt that I was a lil too close to the customer( being that there is no space )- see pictures I then sat down. A few minutes later a couple walked in ( who were greeted as they entered) . The guy at the corner said "next" and I stood up and was literally right at the counter . As I did the guy who was on the phone ask the couple if they were next ( implying that I cut in line) they of course said that I was sitting there when they arrived . The guy at the counter asked me what I wanted I told him and he said the total and proceded to say okay I will charge your card for a total more than the price he originally said a couple hundred dollars. I said wait where did the extra charge come from why didn't you tell me . He said oh I will tell you know. STRIKE 2. Then after that he said he needed to run a credit check in order to run my card . STRIKE 3 I was out of there ( I have heard of bringing in a utility bill but never a credit check) . Never will I go there again read more

If I could put negative stars I would have. This is by far the worst business I have ever dealt with. I was responsible enough to book a vehicle online several months in advance. I asked for an "AWD" or "4WD" vehicle. They told me several times that they couldn't guarantee which make/model vehicle I would get, but that it would have the capabilities that I needed. I even called the night before pick up to ensure that I was getting an AWD vehicle. The manager "Princess" told me that I will be getting a vehicle with those capabilities but couldn't confirm which one. That is understandable. When my wife went in to pick it up they told her it was an AWD 5 passenger vehicle... luckily I had my dad with her (I was still at work) to look under the vehicle and discover that this was a 2WD vehicle. Not only did they fail to give us what they had promised... they tried to lie, hoping we would drive it off the lot, and likely off a mountain while driving on snow covered roads. Needless to say, we canceled the reservation... but as you can imagine with as fine an establishment as this, the refund process led me down countless phone calls and numerous people giving me the run around. I am still waiting for my money back... avoid this place like the plague!!!!! read more

I reserved and paid for the car in advance. Upon arrival I was told my car would be available when it was gased up and washed so I had to wait 30 minutes past my pick up time. I asked the Customer Service Representative Precious if she could change the time on my rental agreement since there is not a grace period. She said she would take care of it but wouldn't give me a copy for myself. Usually they walk around the car with you to note of any dings and dents, Precious did NOT until after I went out and came back in and told her I wanted it noted there was multiple big dents and scratches on the rear bumper that I didn't want to be held responsible. She told me I would be fine but I insisted a written copy of damage already on car and she hesitated but finally did. On returning the car the same Rep.Princess checked me in. I told her I needed a ride home and said she would when someone else came to help. 2 associates came and went and I didn't get a ride home. After 45 minutes I stood in line again and she said she hasn't forgot about me and as soon as she cleared the crowd she would take me home. I reminded her that I had already waited 45 minutes and the crowd kept coming. Her (Rep's name is Precious) response was "you're JUST waiting for a ride home". In the tone that she used is that I was not important, only the people that were waiting to rent, now that I had rented and paid I was not important. Finally after waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes she said in an unpleasant tone "can you take HER home?" This place is way understaffed and no customer service skills at all!!! I have rented from this location several times and each time the customer service gets worse. I think from now on I would rather pay more from another rental agency than be treated so terribly. beware!!!!!!! hertz at moreno valley is a horrible rental car agency!!!! do not use it!!!! use enterprise! !!! i reserved a 4 seater sedan for $135 for 6 days.... when i got there, they only had an suv for over $375.... then, there were nails in the tire; they did not check it out before renting it out!!!! dangerous!!!! after that they threatened us with paying for road side services. they have horrendous customer service, and absolutely no empathy for customers!!!! what a frustrating experience! !!!! they don't give a crap about customer satisfaction! they are just a greedy money pit! i'll never use them again!!!! they contacted us with the phillipines for help when we're in california..... really disgusting! they deserve less than 1 star! thumbs down!!!! if you're desperate for a car, stay home rather than turning to hertz. you'd be better off hitch hiking to your destination!!!!! read more
