This is by far, the worst experience I've had since leaving here in Charlotte. Horrible service and the food and cocktails were subpar.

This is our first time at Hestia. We went for brunch. It's a beautiful place with good views of the area. My decaf coffee was great, but lukewarm.....sent it back. I ordered the Ramen bowl with shrimp - it was so-so.....very salty with not enough veggies! Egg was marinated in soy saice(?) - it was extremely salty. The two shrimp were tempura shrimp, and had been soaking in the broth, so they were mushy. service was rather slow and the place was quite empty. We had high hopes for our first visit to Hestia last Saturday but all walked away completely disappointed! Came to Hestia for drinks after dinner Saturday night so I can't comment on the food but drinks were good and the atmosphere and views are fantastic. But the customer service was horrible! Took 15-20 minutes for anyone at the bar to acknowledge us but finally got a drink order in and all were good but not great. When we asked for a second round of drinks, we were told that's not possible that they quit serving. We were never told by anyone that there was a last call despite the fact we were sitting at the bar with just a few other patrons. Hestia advertises that they are open until 12:00am on Friday and Saturday but apparently last call is before 11:00pm. At 11:15 they turned all the lights on and seemed annoyed that we were still there. Very disappointing experience. read more

Food was good but honestly may not be the best bang for your buck. Service was not as up to par as you would expect with a restaurant at this price point. Hang out at the rooftop bar instead as the ambience and outdoor mood is great. read more

We recently dined at Hestia and had an exceptional experience thanks to Marvin, our wonderful server. The Chilean Sea Bass and Panza roll were incredibly delicious, making our visit truly enjoyable. Highly recommend! read more

Impressed with the view, decor and ambiance. Unimpressed with food and drinks. Need to do better for those kind of prices. Also some portions come on huge plates but the amount of food is miniscule... Creme brulee is huge and delicious - should use that size for appetizers. read more

Nice view but not for vegetarians. I would go here for a a drink on roof top but would not recommend eating if you are a vegetarian. This place has no vegetarian main entry in the menu. Hope they learn the hralthy clientele they serve in the area and adapt the menu read more

I get that it's only the 3rd day of opening & hopefully they will work out their issues, hence the 3 stars instead of 2 stars. We got there right at 5, knowing we didn't have a reservation & just wanted to check out the views and have a drink. The front desk and hostess were friendly. The uncovered patio was first come, first serve. It took forever to get a waitress to acknowledge us. We looked at the menu on our phones to be ready for when someone did come by...Finally! Someone took our order...the Uptown Hustle & Down the Rabbit Hole....and then we waited and waited...I even asked twice for our drinks...34mins later...we finally got them. Now, we would have left, but they took our credit card before we even received our drinks & I didn't want to be charged for something that I never received. So after the long wait...I expected mind blowing drinks...and to be honest, I'm not sure who is the mixologist there, but both drinks were gross. I wouldn't recommend either of them. On a positive note, the ice cube was crystal clear! Maybe once they work out the service issues, I'll return to try the food, but will stick with wine or a beer. read more

I rarely provide reviews unless I'm really offended. My wife and I and went on opening week and service was a nightmare. I chalked it up to opening weekend kinks. We went again tonight a couple months later and I must say, a total disaster. The young ladies at the entrance were dismissive and immature. The hostess pointed us to the bar where we waited 20 minutes to even be acknowledged. I mean not a hello, nothing. A very abrasive bartender rushed us to order and then told 2 other patrons they weren't welcome at the bar. It was awkward. My wife found a great seat outside so we moved. Service on the rooftop is non existent. We waited 45 minutes and waved down and spoke to numerous employees with no help. We walked out after an hour with no help. I'd recommend you go and have 1 drink, take some pictures and forget this place. read more

Amazing views, disinterested staff, terrible food. Greasy dry potstickers, unwashed gritty greens and madly overpriced cocktails.

Ambiance and the view were stunning! Food is extremely underwhelming, cocktails were watery, service wasn't great, and the staff was rude. Three people in our group were overcharged/ charged incorrectly AFTER already running our cards...Mgmt was less then helpful & ironically enough another couple we spoke to in the elevator had the EXACT same mistakes occur on their tab very fishy. Bathrooms had zero toilet paper even after being made aware. Super disappointing. read more

I have never been treated with such lack of respect or professionalism. Our group of 3 called ahead to check on reservation status and the situation as we were wanting to visit for a beverage at the bar. When we called, we were told we would easily be able to walk in and it was no problem. This was at 6:30pm. At 7pm, we arrived. The "hostesses" at the desk in front of the elevators (like armed guards) were giving a hard time to 2 girls who had made a reservation but sounded like it hadn't come through correctly. They were dressed up and ready for a fun night. And quickly turned down. There was no accommodation for them despite their efforts. Meanwhile, a lady behind us said she had just eaten there and the place was empty. And the food was just ok. As we stood there, we let the hostesses (they didn't host anything) know that we were only there for a beverage and had called ahead. One of the individuals (I cannot refer to her as a lady because she wasn't that respectful) indicated that we needed a reservation. When we stated that we had called ahead, she then asked the timeframe of such. We stated 30 minutes prior to which she stated "oh we have gotten REALLY booked up since". I called to speak with a manager the following day and in the background heard "I don't have time for that......take care of it". I provided my feedback to the individual who answered and asked for a return call. Nothing yet. As a new establishment, it shocks me you would treat people so poorly. Whether you are a new establishment or one that has been around a while, it will never bode well to treat people with disrespect and a lack of human decency. I will ensure that everyone I know understands my experience and stays very far away. There is far too much competition and establishments more than happy to have business rather than treating people like S*%^. read more

I wanted to like this place so much. We came here today on July 4th for my boyfriends birthday. He ordered the prime filet Mignon. The menu doesn't state that there are mushrooms in the dish. My boyfriend CANNOT eat mushrooms. This is totally fine though because we didn't ask beforehand. I explained it to my waiter nicely and he sent it back to had it "remade". The dish came back out. My boyfriend started to eat it and there was a mushroom stuck to the bottom of the steak. This means that they didn't remake the dish. They moved the steak to a different dish that didn't have mushrooms. Little did they know that the mushroom was stuck on the steak. This is unacceptable. I paid $290 for our dinner. The waiter didn't even ask or mention to take it off the bill. I didn't want to cause a scene so we paid and went outside to enjoy the fireworks. I'm very upset with the meal and how they didn't remake it. Mushrooms are not a garnish. People have allergies. It should be listed on the menu. I'm very disappointed. read more

In my first outing at Hestia Rooftop I was pleased. The moment I walked through the door I found it! I found the spark I was looking for. I have been a good critic for the BFB ( Better Food Bureau) for years now and I must say this is a place you must visit. This business has been open for a matter of days,but it's captured my heart. The service was exceptional. I must say that the food I had has enticed my palette, and I have yet to discover the peak of this mountain that is Hestia. read more
