Very nice atmosphere and great decor. The place seems very upscale and appearance matches. But I just couldn't get past the salt content in the food! The meatballs were almost inedible due to the salt. My hestia roll had enough salt to probably cover a large McDonald's fry. You don't douse waygu in salt. The entire table had the same feedback. The pot stickers were incredible though and I could eat 100 of them! Some really did like the sea bass. Maybe try that? read more

Haven't been this disappointed in a place in a while. Was excited to try a fancier sushi place in Ballantyne, especially the cool location and high rise views. The ambiance was solid and modern. Outside area was fantastic. Big problem was the sushi was not good. Smaller maki rolls, mid-flavor and too meaty. Was expensive and didn't bring the value we expected. Server was good not great. I went here for my birthday on a trip to Charlotte, and I was absolutely blown away by this place. What can I say except for giving the highest of praise and accolades to this masterpiece of a restaurant on a roof. The service? Amazing! The ambiance? Absolutely fantastic, we sat outside under the LED rooftop display, and between the background music and all the ambient lighting, the whole vibe of the restaurant feels upscale, modern and lively. Last but most certainly not least, the food. I've been to enough sushi and Asian fusion restaurants to confidently say what I feel is good, and I without hesitation can say this is one of the best spots I have been to in North Carolina. Our appetizers were brought out rather quick and had amazingly bold yet balanced flavors, and our drinks were very creative and crafted with care and skill. And for the main course I had ordered sushi (one of my rolls was Toro tuna) and my significant other ordered a vegetarian roll and some sides, and everything had super fresh ingredients and was just done exceptionally well. This was overall a fantastic experience and I would reccomend it to anyone who's in town and has a craving for sushi or some good Wagyu, absolute 12/10 spot!! read more

Enjoyed dinner here last night! Our server Star was the best. She gave us wonderful suggestions for drinks and food and none of the choices disappointed! She was very attentive and understanding of our needs. We started with the Oxtail Potstickers, which were very tasty!!! Due to our seafood/shellfish allergies, we were very limited to what we could get, so we had the Wagyu fried rice, Wagyu Tri Tip, Wagyu Meatballs, and the Chef was kind enough to special make us some noodles... The fried rice was delicious, however too spicy for me to really enjoy it ( but I really really really tried), I'm not a big fan of spice but now I know next time to order it without. The meatballs came cooked a little too under for me, and when they remade them, they were dry and flavorless. The Wagyu Tri Tip was the star of the show!!!! So tender, flavorful, and just melted in my mouth - I didn't even use any of the seasonings that came with it. Nothing was needed!!!! I will try the other cuts of Wagyu next visit for sure! Now the Chef's special noodles? I did not get one bite of as my Fiancé devoured them all by himself! Lol. Now as far as the drinks, I only tried the Smoked Buddha, which was good and presented very pretty, however it was small. I had 4 while there... I will be back to try more A5 Wagyu and not so spicy fried rice, I just wish in the future they will add more to the menu for the little people like me who have seafood/shellfish allergies, but still want to be able to dine with everyone else as well. read more

Really enjoyed my experience at Hestia. The view from the patio is fabulous at sunset, and all of the fire features are really nice. Danny was our waitress and she was a delight. We enjoyed the sushi, and had a few appetizers. Definitely recommend the Lobster Roll! It was our favorite. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Very nice rooftop bar! The area is well maintained, and it is on 16th floor in AC hotel. Good atmosphere, plenty of space outside to enjoy the view. Love the fire pits. The food is pricy, small portions, but it's a standard for most rooftop bars. Nice presentation. We enjoyed it a lot! read more

While the view and restaurant itself is beautiful, some of the service is lacking. While the beverage director Lo, our servers Alex & Ké were AMAZING, the hostesses and GM are lacking in customer service. I have NEVER been to an establishment where we have a reservation and not only be told by the hostesses that we can't sit outside because they were full (but there were 5 tables available at the time). Thankfully Lo corrected that action and sat our party of 4. Later during our service, we were asked to move from our table because there was a party of 10 coming in and they needed the space, however there were other parties that came in before us that could have been asked the same. I have never been in an establishment where I was asked to release my table (due to the timing of how long it took for service) and because the restaurant overbooked. We asked to speak with the GM who never came to the table. It's quite disappointing that a restaurant of this "caliber" was lacking in communication and service. Again, Lo, Alex, and Ké were amazing, but the rest was mediocre. Disappointed at the overall experience! read more

Booked consistently. Hard to get a table. Have to put a deposit on a reservation. I only stopped by to check it out for drinks - and the drinks were just awful. Yuck. Tasted like lawn mover clippings. Could not make a cosmo or any martinis. Only weird cocktails on their menu. A high end place should have real bartenders who know how to make a drink. Went here for our 30th wedding anniversary. My wife had already been here for brunch when they first opened and it was meh then. But, we decided to give it another shot. Atmosphere is nice - the rooftop restaurant has a great view. Cocktails were spot on and the sushi rolls were very good - we recommend the Golden scallop - it's fire. My entree was very good however, my wife's came out cold. They took it back and prepared another but by the time it made it back out, she was over it. The server was very apologetic and accommodating but no visit from a manager. For the price, we expect more. My wife's tears, due to her disappointment, means we will not be going back. It's too bad because there is so much potentially going for it. They have a lot to work on and work out. read more

Really should be 3.5 stars. The ambiance is incredible and I loved the atmosphere. The service was great and our waiter was helpful. That being said: the food is expensive and overpriced. I had a sampling that include the meatballs (good) potstickers (good) sushi rolls (mediocre) crab cake (mediocre/bad) and strawberry cheesecake (good). The quality of the food doesn't justify the price. Also my friend wanted wings which were only available at the bar and he had to eat them at the bar apart from the rest of us who were seated, after all that, he said the wings weren't very good. This doesn't make any sense and is generally not a good practice. read more

I went upstairs to secure seats on the patio for my party of four while they were parking I was greated by very friendly bar staff. After I ordered my drink, my friends called me and said they couldn't come up because the restaurant and bar were at capacity. It seemed odd to me because the patio was half full and I was at a couch with room for my party of 4. I asked two servers to call down and let my party up. They both told me that management said that my party could not come up. This place is amateur hour. The management is in over their heads if they can't keep tabs on how many open tables they have on the patio, which is first come first serve. Stay away until they figure this out! read more

The first time I visited which was about 3 weeks ago I had an amazing experience I ordered the wagyu fried rice and i described it to everyone as "the best fried rice I've ever had" The meat sizes were big, soo flavorful and the rice was perfectly cooked. On 6/23/23 I visited for the 2nd time this time I brought my family wanting them to taste the wagyu fried rice I raved about. Unfortunately, this time around I was sooo disappointed with the rice. Not only was the rice soggy, but there was barely any meat in it, and the wagyu meat that was in there was soo small you could barely see it. The rice has no flavor. I couldn't even finish my dish. We had a great visit to Hestia last night! They made some changes back that were important to the experience, such as the lighting, which they had previously turned off.
