I originally went to Ford Lincoln dealership to get my 2017 Ford Platinum Explorer looked at because the car was making a horrible grinding noise when I would drive. I got an oil change from them and they told me that I would have to wait until September 30th to get a specialist to look at my car. They let me know they believed it was either I needed a new transmission or possible engine problems on a SUV with 70k miles. I googled around for a transmission place and read the reviews on Speedy and they were good so I decided to take a shot with them. When I got there the office manager was a young man who was extremely polite and professional. He let me know they would do a diagnostic check on the transmission and listen for the noise. After about 45 minutes the owner Luis called me over and let me know that he thinks that the car just needed transmission fluid. He let me know he put a clamp on the hose to stop it from leaking and then we got into the car and took it for a test ride. There was no more noise and the car was not jumping every time I stepped on the gas. Luis charged me $80 for everything. I thanked him for his honesty because he easily could have told me I needed a new transmission. The Ford dealership wanted to charge me $150 each for a diagnostic check on the engine and transmission. How could they not see that it needed fluid. Well they have just lost a customer and Speedy and Luis have just gained a new one. The icing on the cake is after talking with Luis and his son (office manager) we realized we are from the same area in Florida and we lived about 7 minutes apart. Great to see another Florida person. Where do i start with this place i was treated very nicely let me start with the positive note. The staff is very friendly and nice. However my car suffered from this place so i had taken my car to another repair shop but because of the costs i didnt want to pay 12k so speedys actually towed the car for me to their shop and said the could do it for damn near half of the other shop price. I paid roughly 6-7k to obtain a used engine with 32k miles on it . Took a while but i didnt want to rish them since it was a big job. They also replaced my catalytic converters for like 1500$ I should have just spent the 12k with theother shop because after taking it back to speedys three times because my coolant alert kept popping up and it was literally draining out of the car. I knew something was wrong . They said they didnt see anything only for the car to begin blowing out a bunch of smoke from under the engine and the check engine light came on. I literally spent an additional 8k to fix what this place messed up. I should have reported this place to the attorney general's office since the other shop stated everything wasn't even in spec . As a place that does emissions i could have had the shut down but only because they were nice i didn't make the call. I should have taken it to court but again they can read about it here on this review . I would not recommend any foreign car owner to take your car here theres clearly a lack of knowledge and understanding. I have an audi A8 btw. Never again read more

For the love of god don't go here if you value your time or money or anything. I brought my car here for transmission work after seeing they provided rentals and free diagnostics. Their diagnostics consisted of driving it around in the parking lot for a few minutes and then giving me a $3900-$6000 estimate. The "rental" car they gave me was an old, barely running car that was disgusting, came with trash in it, smelled like it was made of cigarettes, and had a rejection inspection sticker on it. It clunked when it drove and started having flashing dashboard lights after the first day. After calling repeatedly requesting to swap rental cars, and half the time not even being able to get through to anyone, they kept telling me to come in to swap. I left work early multiple days in a row to swap cars and every time when I got there was told they didn't have anything. This was after speaking with them the same day and them telling me that they had a car available. They apparently saw nothing wrong with expecting me to continue driving a basically illegal car on the road. They also had my car for a week and had done zero work on it. The initial timeframe estimate was 1-2 weeks. After the first week it changed to 2-3 weeks. I went to pick up my car to take elsewhere because at this point I was beyond done with them. My deposit refund was given to me via check, which they wrote my name backwards on and when my bank called to verify the check from them they spent two weeks telling my bank I was not the payee. It took another week of going back and forth with them and my bank trying to get my money back. This place is beyond unprofessional and clueless. STAY AWAY FROMT THIS PLACE!! Took my vehicle there raised the hood and this guy comes up and said, what's wrong with it? I told him and the first words out of his mouth was, you need engine mounts. Went inside and told them that it was making a noise some where in the engine compartment. He took it down to the shop and came back and said, it's the clutch fan and also said the transfer case was bad. I knew something didn't sound right so I took it straight to the dealer ship where they ran a diagnostic. The dealership told me that the noise was coming from the bearings in the alternator and also that there was nothing wrong with the transfer case. I could have been ripped off for a lot of money had I not taken it to the dealership. read more

I went to this mechanic because they offered towing services & repair, if you get your vehicle repaired ..you don't pay for towing. My alternator went bad and they were the closest shop that did tow. They told me on the phone that they were a full service shop. I was quoted 450 on the phone for the repairs. This seemed fair enough. My car was towed and remained in their possession for 3 days. When I picked up the truck it was after 6pm. They were instructed to leave it outside the fence so that it could be retrieved by myself after work, I noticed after I got home that my headlights were not working. I called the next day to let them know, I was told they couldn'tlook at the car again until later that week. I asked what was I supposed to do with no headlights for the remaining time until they could make repairs. They had nerve to tell me to drive with my bright lights on in the meantime what ,"Great advice from a mechanic " that just busted me in the head for a alternator at a 640.00 price. I bought the car back. They asked to look at things to check fuses etc. They said it might be the light bulbs and then gave the car back after having me wait an hour. So they refused to replace the headlights. The head manager was very rude and belligerent and kicked me out of the shop for asking them to change my headlights even though I told them i didn't care about having to pay for it and that it shouldhave beenbought to my attention before returning the vehicle to me. He began speaking to me in his language he felt I didn't understand saying stereotypical things about "my Kind". I left and ended up going to M40 on hull street for the light bulb repairs who literally only charged me 20 bucks for both headlights. I know it could have been at least 230.00. Fast forward to today. My brand new battery is drained once again and the vehicle will not start. It was diagnosed as the alternator at auto zone. I contacted speedys and they are refusing to acknowledge a second look although I am still only 1 month into my 6month/6,000 mile warranty period. They refuse to take my calls. And have lied about sending the replaced alternator information to my email for the initial 1st job. This says to me that I was charged for a new alternator when they probably went to a junk yard and got the part assuming that my kind are dumb. Based on how I was previously treated and they refuse to accept responsibility I am pretty sure I will be returning with the cops to ensure they do not treat Me as they did before. I took my truck in as the transmission would not downshift. I spoke with 'Speedy' who told me 'give me a week'. A week comes and goes and no phone call or text messages saying it's ready, gonna take longer. Nothing. So I called and talked with a gentleman. He said they had rebuilt the transmission but something was wrong and they were going to have to take it out and fix whatever. Eventually close to 3 weeks later I get a call that my truck is ready. First thing I see is the Check Engine light is on. I go in and explain to the gentleman who called me that the light was on. He took it and came back in about 5 minutes. He said everything was A-Ok. So I take my truck and go home. About a month later my drive shaft falls out. When they removed the transmission they had shifted the tailpipe and muffler over which rubbed against the aluminum driveshaft thus breaking it. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I was stuck on the side of the road in a state of panic. My car ran out of gas (during the pipeline crisis) and I was attempting to rush my dog to the vet who was in a great deal of pain. Like a knight in shining armor a tow truck pulled up and the driver asked if I needed help. I told him my circumstances and he told me "don't worry, I'll help you". He only had a little gas in his can so he told me wait 5 minutes and he would be right back. 5 minutes later he was back with a full can and poured it all into my gas tank. I asked if I could pay him and he declined. I am floored by his kindness and just want to be sure he knew just how grateful I am. I would completely trust any work they did on my car!!!!! read more

Quoted us a job at 1500. Free towing. Free diagnostics. Agreed to the job. Paid half up front. Get a call stating the job was done and its now 2200. Then its 2400. We ask why and get told they had to check to see of their repair actually repaired the vehicle. Which required them to put the vehicle into gear. Thats all. We complain. They raise the bill to 4500 plus toeing and diagnostics and storage and threaten to impound the vehicle the same day they fraudulently add to the bill we had agreed to. Total rip off artists looking to steal vehicles. Total scam shop. read more
