Justin is a magician! I have an older 1982 300CD Turbo Diesel that had been sitting in my driveway covered but with a shredded front tire for approximately 18 months. I got new tires on it Tuesday. Drove it to Hi-line Autocare on Wednesday morning (10 am) and he had everything working by Friday afternoon, when I picked the car up at approximately 4:30 PM. This is my first time using them, but it seems to me they go above and beyond and really care about the work they do there. The car drives much better than before, and they fixed all the small issues (and some larger issues too) that I pointed out and even found a few small things that he fixed without even being asked... it's been a long time since I've had this car serviced, so I cannot comment on the value, but I feel given all the work he did on my car in just over 60 hours, it was well worth the cost. shady shady shady..stay away!!!! i called in friday afternoon to schedule a "service b" maintenance on my mercedes. i spoke to justin and i asked him to confirm with me what the scheduled service included. he responded with- service b includes oil change,cabin filter and brake fluid exchange. he said the price would be "just about $300 i came in this morning at 9am to drop off my car and again confirmed price and he said "yes $300" not only did they waste my whole day and call me 5 hours later at about 2:30pm to tell me that they were just about to start working on my car and what my car needed and what they recommended but they also said the service b was $295 "plus" $150 for brake fluid exchange. over $450 plus tax for a service they had said was only $300 shady shady way to bring people in and shady way to do business.. not only that they repond to you with an attitude and dony have any common customer service. i walked in and wasnt even greeted i asked him questions and wouldnt even respond correctly.. i rather pay the few extra dollars and take it to mercedes they currently have service b for $429.. oh well thats what i get for being cheap and trying to give my business to a local small shop and to top things off the owner did absolutely nothing in regards to the situation to try to keep me as a customer lost my business i own 3 mercedes! read more

I have a 2013 ML350 and had been faithfully getting my car serviced at the dealer since we had purchased the car. I heard about Hi-Line from a friend and after getting frustrated with high dealer service charges, the wait for appointments and then waiting at the dealer for 20+ minutes to drop off my car, I was ready for a change so I gave Hi-Line Autocare a try. I was able to get in quickly and surprised that they were able to get my car in and out in one day....I expected them to need to keep my car for a couple of days since that had been my experience with the dealer. In fact because I get such great service here anytime I have had to car shop I remain with Mercedes knowing Hi-Line will help me out when services come up or any problems arise. The guys in here are great at explaining everything, their pricing is very fair, you never feel like you're getting ripped off, and their shop is very clean! I live in costa mesa/santa ana so, Hi line is about 20 minutes away but, the distance doesn't matter they are the only place I will take my car including any of the nearby dealerships because they really are that trustworthy! AND if you're ever in the market for a used car check here they occasionally have used cars for sale that are in great shape! The service at Hi-Line is excellent! Matt thoroughly explains the repairs and service needed. When I first met Matt, I was having trouble with the car periodically not starting. I was visiting a friend in Orange and she suggested I call Hi-Line. I spoke with Matt, and he mentioned leaving the car overnight. He assured me that he would find the problem and my car would be safe. I didn't know him, but I felt that I could trust him. I'm glad I did! The next day, my car was repaired, the cost was reasonable, and I never had the problem again. Fast forward 2 years, I moved to the IE and remembered the quality service I received from Hi-Line. My car needed servicing, and I called Matt. Again, the service was excellent! Also, the mechanics are very knowledgeable and kind. I have had many issues with my Mercedes some easy , some complex and no matter what the issue is Justin and his team always give me a complete estimate. Our sprinter van's main fan belt (serpentine) shredded. We had to have it towed to wherever we would take it. We called Hi Line and they gave us an appoint time. I bring my 2004 SL55 to get check and fix convertible not opening. I inspect and know the passenger flap not operating correctly. When I'm there one of the tech front counter told me they fixed many time before and don't event come outside to check. A day later told me the costs replace whole system for $750.00. I told them I found on YouTube show how to fix and part only $50.00 + labor. I gave them part number selling in Amazon they took and told me they will do it and the counter man told me they never done before. I'm still struts them and keep the car there. One day later told me it cannot be done. I came back show them the YouTube how the part mechanism works. He watching 10 minutes and it easy and there are instructions video so don't have to look into the book. He told me it not right. It upgrade for SL convertible. And Johnson told me he just did one and cost with part + labor is $350.00 I hate to put negative reviews, but I just like to share. Couple year ago Hi-Li help to fix my 2016 SLK55 for rear passenger rubbing when hit the pump on highways cost me $950 and still have the same issue and They should recommend me just need replace the rear shock. So lucky to have this place near me and my benz. They can fix pretty much anything on a Mercedes Benz. Super knowledgeable and their prices are soooo much better than a MB dealership. Work is easily comparable if not better compared to anything Ive ever had done at the dealer and it should be--the manager worked for Fletcher Jones for a pretty long time prior to Hi Line. This repair shop is probably the only reason I still drive Mercedes Benz. Ive been going there for years with different cars. They know me by my voice now. Today one of Matt's (the owner) mechanics replaced the battery in my car. First he told me that my car would never start showing 9.5 volts, but it did, it started right up. After the battery was installed and he was closing things up in the back seat, I said the battery terminal is corroded. He said never mind, it doesn't matter, I said yes it does matter, so upon my insistence he cleaned off the corrosion. Then he snapped back on an orange plastic tag that came with the old battery and of course it had the old date, so I asked him to please correct the date. He didn't want to do that either. Sloppy, sloppy work. The same idiot also was unable to replace a side view mirror and on my third trip back because the mirror kept falling off, someone else fixed it, the first guy didn't connect all of the pins. In addition, he appears to be drugged up, can't prove it, he appears. The goofy look on his face, his lack of attention and focus, then his obvious lies to cover his sloppy work. I will never go back there again. read more

Never thought I would say this about a auto repair business but they are HONEST!!!! We have been taking all of our Mercedes here after a friend of ours (who is the General Manager of a Lexus dealer, referred us). Recently my husband's 2002 S500 was making funny noises when he was braking. When we took it in, they said it just needed some oil and it was fine! Didn't charge a cent! The best experience at a mechanic by far. Had a nagging sound from the front, drove in, diagnosed by Justin in 10 min, part ordered and delivered in 3 hour. Returned in the afternoon, part installed and done in 30 min. Magic!! The knowledge base is awesome. This is a hidden gem in Orange County, and it is right in my neighborhood. I bought a '93 Mercedes 300 CE convertible approximately a year ago so this was the first time I needed an annual maintenance. Having driven past Hi-Line on an almost daily basis for many years, I decided to check out their website and Yelp reviews.... Based on what I read, I decided to bring my car to them last week. It was a great experience... even better than the reviews had suggested. The shop is spotlessly clean and well organized. Their inspection was very thorough and they found several important things that, repaired now, will keep my car in good condition and save real money down the road.... and they were great at calling me with updates and cost estimates so there were no surprises. They even went "the extra mile" to locate a third party supplier for a convertible top latch that's no longer available from Mercedes... rather than just telling me that "the part isn't available any longer" which is what most other shops would have done. They're also very honest... I had an injury that made it difficult to drive my car for a few months so the battery was dead, dead dead ... so much do thst AAA couldn't find any residual charge. Although that car started easily with the battery jump, I anticipated needing a new battery. Hi-Line charged the battery, tested it and determined that it was fine and didn't need replacement.... They could have replaced it and I wouldn't have had any way to really know whether it was necessary or not. All this, and the cost for their work was very reasonable (indeed, much less than I had expected). They service classic, recent and new Mercedes cars so I'm thrilled to have found them and I'll be back every time my car needs service... read more

I bought a 1981 MBZ Turbodiesel 300SD from Hi-Line and drove it for years. Matt and his crew serviced it, put a newer engine in it after a few years, and had their colleagues at Tustin Transmission rebuild the tranny. When I sold the car years later the buyer came a long way and paid top dollar for it. Coming here, we felt like part of the family. They always remembered my name, answered the phone, charged fair rates and were very transparent. My parents brought three Mercedes sedans here over the years, two 90s s-class sedans with high mileage gas engines, and a 1998 e-class turbo diesel. Before I converted to BMW, I had cars serviced here from 1997 to 2005. Reception is very hospitable. Shop is super clean. They also worked on my '65 Mustang in a pinch! read more

Took in my 350 E Wagon due to engine check light on. I thought ok here we go, since it could be many different issues. I took another Mercedes into a dealer for the same engine check light and $1500 later it was fixed. Well Matt called me soon after I dropped it off and $200 later it was fixed !!! Husband and I have been using this place for MANY years for both of our cars. In fact, my husband was one of their first customers when they originally opened. Excellent service, wonderful prices and very fast work! It is always best to call for maintenance appointment, but these guys do all they can in those awful car emergencies we all experience.
