I saw one of their ads on Instagram and decided to look them up on yelp and Google before giving them a call. I was very intrigued by their reviews. When I called, I spoke to Patel. Very nice man. As it turned out, they had an opening and I was able to get a full synthetic oil change pretty much on the spot. Also, another coincidence we both drive the same vehicle. I have a 2021 Range Rover sport HSE. He was very knowledgeable on the Vehicle, which made me very comfortable immediately. I just moved over here from Florida and I was about 3000 miles away from service and both Patel and the Mechanic both came up and said I really don't need service right now. Very very honest. I really appreciated that. I decided to go through with the oil change anyway just because it's the best bet in the long run for the vehicle. Personally Cook's seems pricey but isn't everything. I'm eighty, remember gas wars when you could get regular for $.25 a gallon so that perspective filters my thinking, maybe not in a good way. Cook's work is excellent. They installed a new ignition swith in a classic car for me. The work was timely, expertly executed and staff knew what they were doing. To be fair, their work seems to be decent. However, of the 3 times I have been in each time they try to upsale Services. Twice telling me it's a problem w/car manufacturer. My oil change today resulted in $300+ of "needed repairs" plus attached Est. $2000+. Just know they will tell you you need more work (3 outta 3 for me) read more

I was caught up in some confusion as a result of their previous manager being fired. Basically, they towed my daughter's car and then claimed they had no record of the work being performed. They knew me well, and knew the car was associated to me. I had been taking my cars there for more than 5 years. No reason to not call. I reached out to the owner, no response. Just make sure everything is documented, and you follow through, before you get fleeced by the unscrupulous tow company the land owner employs. Good for oil changes, but a tad bit sus. read more

Took my 4runner here for a wheel alignment before a long road trip and Cook's did a great job through and through. I called several local shops and the pricing was competitive (with Yelp discount) and most importantly they were able to fit me in on a short notice. I did appreciate how the service person explained some of the details re: the alignment- the only thing I would have changed is that I wished they provided me the printout of each of the wheel alignment settings to get things back to factory spec. Over the years I've been to many tire stores and then I went to Cook's and now I won't go anywhere. I got the best price on new tires when I had called many places so I used them and then they told me that they give free tire rotations once you are a customer so I go every few months and get my tires rotated and since going to them I am able to go a LOT longer before having to buy new tires. They also have a great location and you can pull right up to the front door and the waiting area is large and really nice so I never mind waiting there while they rotate my tires. We've been going to Cook's for years and have been happy with their service until today. I had a similar experience to another Yelp review where they told me my rear tires need replaced even though they replaced all 4 of my tires less than 10k miles ago. They asked me if I drove a lot, which was befuddling because they could see how many miles it had been. They also recommended replacing my van's control arm bushings, which I appreciated until they asked, "Do you want to check with your husband first?" What the...? I've never gotten bad vibes from Cook's before, but it's sadly time to move on. read more

The AC in my truck wasn't blowing cold air. I took it to a different shop before Cooks and their diagnosis and quote price didn't seem right. My brother recommended Cooks for a second opinion. Cooks properly diagnosed the problem and even showed me the pinpointed leak in the hose. Emmanuel did a great job in finding the replacement hose at it is out of stock almost everywhere for my make and model. Excellent customer service and fair and honest pricing. He gave me all the information I needed very promptly and was a big help. When I got there the front desk assisted me seconds as I entered the store. Loyal customer here, been here before for a tire replacement and a fixed tire. First time I came here it was because Toyota dealership was trying to have me spend $$$ for a tire that needed a patch only and lasted over a year. I came back to finally replace. Cook staff gave good customer service overall. I checked prices for tires for my Toyota Tacoma Tuck with Both Sam's club and Costco. Cooks Tiers beat both . I also check auto shops in Anaheim. Cooks gave me the lowest price and answered any questions I had . I liked the way replacing two extra tiers was explained and I was shown the tire that has small cracks . Called 4 other shops around orange and was told the Falcon 6ply All Terrain Snow Rated tire is on backorder due to the pandemic still. Not sure what's happened in the last year but the service has really gone downhill. Used to love taking my car here but the past two times we've had poor experiences. About 5 months ago- Was told my tires need to be replaced and when I mentioned I recently had them replaced the guy just said, well they need replaced. I asked which ones looked bad and he said, I don't know. I asked if anyone looked at them to decide they needed to be replaced and he said no but that's what his computer tells him. So, do they need to be replaced or not? Got the car and checked myself and the tires are fine. Today- called and made an appointment for 8:30am for an oil change. Showed up at 8:30 and asked if they could also do a tune up as my car is just over 100,000. Was told they could but I would have to leave it there until 2pm. Sure no problem, didn't make an appt for the tune up, so no problem. Left the car there all day. Picked it up at 2pm and was told oil is leaking and spark plugs need replacing. Ask if they did the tune up. No we did not. What???? So my car was there all day and you never even did the tune up? So my car took 6.5 hours for an oil change when I had an appt? And you didn't do the work asked. Really? Not sure we will continuing going back. Sad because we live close and been taking our cars there since they opened this location but they must have had staff change and the new staff is not very competent or customer service oriented. read more

I didn't have a good experience here and looks like I'm in the minority so it was probably an off day. But I remember this was right before quarantine started and I was sitting waiting for an oil change. They quoted me an hour to an hour and a half time. I actually sat and waited in their lobby with my young son who started getting antsy. They were quite aware I was there with my kid- since I was sitting there the whole time. After an hour and half passes I ask about my car and they say very nonchalantly oh yea- another hour. I felt like they just totally forgot about my car even though I was sitting there the whole time! And yes they took another hour. I was very peeved and got no apologies. Also after I left, my service light was still on. How annoying. I did not want to return to get that reset. So I didn't. I'm writing this review now because I had a much more pleasant experience elsewhere with my next oil change and because I did - the contrast between the places sparked my desire to offer my own experience at cooks. I came here because of a coupon. Also, I paid less at another place for a synthetic 8qt oil change without a coupon than I did at cooks with their coupon. I also only waited about 50 minutes at the other location as opposed to the 2.5 hours at cooks. I don't care what the coupon says next time it hits my mailbox- I would never return here. read more

This was my first time at this Cook's location and I am happy to see that the service at this location is just as great at the Fullerton location. I had a slow leak in one of my tires, but also knew it was time for me to get some new tires and an oil change. I called and was told I didn't need an appointment and to just bring my car in. I dropped it off before work and talked to Joe the manager. I let him know what was going on and a few other issues I would like for them to look at. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I got a text about 2 hours later and Joe walked me through a few additional things that they felt needed to be repaired and had the quote all ready for me. I was able to pick up my car after work and the check out process only took about 10 minutes. I didn't feel pressured into getting anything I didn't think I didn't need. Joe is super personable, and the rest of the staff are great too. I went in trusting that they weren't trying to overcharge me. I'm looking forward to bring my car in for future service. read more

I have spent THOUSANDS at Cook's over the past 10 years. They are excellent at tires / alignment. However, I just took my car to Toyota Of Orange for a warranty related service and I have to admit, they fall short as "The Dealer Alternative". I really wanted them to be a dealer alternative because I don't trust dealerships. The AC refrigerant went out in my Camry at 75k. I was surprised to find out that the recharge was $ 750.00. I called Toyota of HB and their price was $ 715.00. I didn't sweat the $ 35.00 since my car was in their shop. I also spoke with a mechanic friend of mine after the fact and he asked if the put dye in with the recharge because 75k is way too early to have AC issues in a Toyota. They didn't. A month later the AC stopped blowing cold. I decided to take it to the dealer because i though it was the condenser and under warranty. Boy am I glad I did. There was a piece of wood that penetrated my evaporator and caused the leak. It was clearly visible if they had looked. I also had several recommended services (fluid changes) they failed to perform or even recommend. I have no problem spending what it takes to keep my car perfect. I do expect the mechanic to know and do the recommended services. The final straw on the service is an aftermarket oil filter. No excuse for this. New Camrys have very specific oil requirements. I assumed being "The Dealer Alternative" they would use OEM parts. Apparently not. This place is great for tires / alignment. I don't recommend them for other services. read more
