Alright alright alright. I had originally gone in for a quick tire patch because I was gonna be driving quite a bit. I walked in and they immediately greeted me, helped whoever was in line, and then came out with me to look at my tires. The gentleman who helped me looked at them and then explained that what I needed was new tires not a patch. My tires were so worn that he did not recommend me driving a long ways on them. I asked what the cost would be and he gave me three different quotes so that I could choose the one that best suited me. I recently had body work done on my car and was saddened when the gentleman let me know that a tire alignment was skipped. They replaced my tires within 2 hours (they drove and picked up my tires from another location) and did the tire alignment and they also made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I have a lot of appreciation for this place and you should too. I've been driving on the new tires for two weeks and my life is changed. I had a tire with a hidden and very slow air leak. Brent was great and told me to come in first thing in the morning and they would check it out. All the staff I encountered were really helpful. Ultimately, they found the leak and it required a tire replacement. As the tire was under warranty at the dealer, I went back at the dealership for a free replacement. While I couldn't give Mountain View my business this time, I found the service A+++ and I hope others will read this review and head over there for new tires or servicing of their vehicles. I called and was told I would have to take my car to another one of their stores to confirm I actually received a new air filter. Mountain View tire is my go to auto repair shop. They give estimates that are spot on. I've been to them for car work at least 10 times, because they also do tires for me and they've never once come back with a higher price than they estimated. They have charged me less though! Also, if they discover work that they'd recommend being done while they have the car, they always call to give me the option. They've never done any work without my permission. They also don't hard sell you for everything the car could use for maintenance but they will let you know what's recommended. I used Tustin Toyota for years for my Camry, but once I started comparing estimates it's been Mountain View Auto ever since. Robert runs the place and is completely trustworthy and also super helpful and patient and reasonable. He will work with you on price and it doesn't hurt to ask if they have coupons or specials as sometimes they do. Their hours couldn't be better. They even work on Sundays (Saturday also). The reps Robert has helping him have all been excellent at customer service and seem to have the same ethos of being fair and transparent about the work and prices. I've been bringing my car to these guys and their excellent mechanics for 10 years or so and I've never been upset or disappointed. How many people can say that about their auto shop! read more

This shop came highly recommended to me by a friend. I've been calling around to get a gauge of the diagnostic fee that most places usually charge. A few locations I spoke with told me that they charge the diagnostic fee if you're only interested in learning what is going on with the check engine light being on. Most of them told me that this fee will be waived if you do the repair at the shop. I'm simply assuming cost is built into the labor and whatnot. A few locations stated that it was an additional line item and that I will be charged for separate from the repair that will be done. I called this shop and asked how the diagnostic fee will be handled, and was told by whoever answered the phone on 06/26/25 at 5:06 p.m. that the diagnostic fee will not be an additional line charge on the bill. The diagnostic fee was a charge on the bill. It was upsetting. I take responsibility for not asking additional questions when I dropped my car off at 8 a.m. I didn't realize that it was an unrealistic expectation for the person answering the phone to know something as basic as how the customer would be charged when it comes to diagnostic fees. The gentleman that helped me when I picked up my car did his best to de-escalate, but I was just not happy with the experience. I can't imagine the diagnostic fee is a rare occurrence in an auto shop, so there's no excuse for the person answering the phone to not have the correct answer. If they don't know, maybe they shouldn't be on the phone speaking to customers. read more

Trust me -- whatever you do, do NOT take your car to Mountain View in Tustin. I recently brought my car in to have two rear tires replaced. I dropped it off at 9:00 AM, and it wasn't ready until 3:30 PM. I understand it was a Saturday, but it should never take over six hours to change two back tires. I will never return to this business -- even if the service was free. From now on, I'll take my business across the street to Big O. In my opinion, they did not have the tires in stock despite the fact that we pre-ordered them. I believe they had to wait for delivery and couldn't even extend the courtesy of telling us. First of all, I want to say I am absolutely beyond pissed what happened. My 21 year-old daughter went in there after we bought a Groupon to get an oil change. They explained that they do an inspection and it will be $27 extra dollars for the 6th gallon of oil. Ok cool. 2 days later she comes to us so she can get the brakes fixed and air filter changed which is what they recommended. My husband opens the hood of her car and there is a blanket covering her engine. I am talking about a full bed sheet size oil blanket. Then he takes that off and her air box is just laying there. Not sealed, not screwed in. WHAT? The oil isn't even topped off. It's UNDER the fill line. This isn't Joe smoes down the road. This is a reputable company. I will be contacting them tomorrow and see what they have to say. Shame on them. It could have ended badly if we didn't check it out. UPDATE. They are nice but seriously need to be more carefully. I'm actually amazed this place has so few 1 star reviews. They must fight heaven and earth to get them removed. We didn't even purchase anything, we walked before paying for the preliminary diagnostic (some reviews are saying it wasn't waived after the sales guy explained four times how it would be). I called earlier in the morning because my wife's window fell, the regulator has been broken and the window finally dropped, common problem. I called these guys to see if they could service it, the guy on the phone seemed really eager to get the car in asap. He said they wanted to get it in as soon as possible and they'd have that fixed today, remember this, he literally said this on the phone. He was asking for the license plate and vin, weird to me they asked for that for the appointment. He seemed surprised I didn't have that on hand, who has that on hand? He scheduled an appointment without even asking for the make or model. Red flag number one, you said you could get this done today, does that mean you have every motor & regulator assembly in stock? I asked if he wanted the make and model and he said so much I couldn't even follow what he was saying. I gave him the make and model and he said I'll see you at noon. I asked if he had the part, then he said he had to go because he's had a customer waiting, "I'll see you at noon". My wife and I show up at eleven, the soonest we could get in. He greets me with there's two engine types for the make and model, I couldn't look up if we had the part in stock, red flag 2. That's obviously a lie: 1. There's only one engine size for the year, make, and model, 2. Why would the regulator and motor for the window differ because of the engine size, 3. If there were two assemblies, couldn't you check the availability on either engine size? Im assuming mechanics don't have this stuff in stock, there's too many different sizes and it wouldn't make sense to have them all on hand. I don't know why he's refusing to say they'd have to order it after saying they'd get us out same day. He tells my wife they could possibly get it done today if they have the part in stock, first he has to do a diagnostic, take of the paneling for the driver side door to see what could possibly be the problem. Like said, "is it the window or the regulator", I said it's the regulator. Then he started lying about wiring that whole the window in place(?) and another fake thing it could be. Idk what he's talking about, there's nothing else it could be, it's the regulator. He said there's a 200 dollar charge for the diagnostic, that's what they charge for an hour of labor. It won't take an hour to get the panel off the door. What else would you be diagnosing? Then he said he'd check our tires and brakes, my wife was like, "tires and brakes?". He went on and on about whatever, again this guys talking and talking, leaving no air in the conversation for us to intervene. My wife lets him go write down our plate, vin and mileage. Seems excessive what I they're asking for the lack of info he's giving us. After awhile it's time for us to commit, point of no return, he prints the bill for $200, my wife asks, "so you said you can get this done today?", he responds with "I didn't say anything" and put his arms up pleading innocence. This whole time he's been our best friend making sure we'd get the best service. Heck! They'll even check our tires and brakes! (Also seeing reviews say they'll tell you need new tires no matter how much tread is left). Now my wife confirms the deadline he's given us and he starts going back and forth with her about the pedantic differences of what he's lead us to believe vs what's possible. Also points at me and says he didn't tell me the engine size. Strike 3, you're out. I told my wife we'll take it somewhere else, we called another mechanic and they said "yea it's the regulator, we'll have to order the part, drop it off tomorrow". They didn't ask for vin, phone number, address, license plate, first and last name. Just make and model (not engine size). TLDR; Go in prepared, ask questions, and use your best judgement. Thank god we didn't be the $189.99 "waivable" diagnostic. read more

This business always seems to have good reviews and I was fairly happy at the time that I was receiving service. I don't usually post reviews but decided it was apparently time for this one. If you're due for any refund, plan on having lots of patience. I am pretty patient but I am coming up on one year since a refund was submitted by the location into their system. I still have not received it after even calling in several times as a follow up. Either their management approval process or their Accounting department is lacking in customer service for processing refunds. I guess I am going to have to maybe look into and consider small claims court in order to receive the payment refund that I am still due. read more
