I don't usually write Yelp reviews, but I am going to start now! I came here because it is close to my house and figured it would be convenient. My gel manicure took about 20 minutes, the fastest, most rushed manicure ever! Their sample color choices don't match the actual nail polish, so it took awhile to find a color which I wanted. The lady barely cleaned my cuticles and filed my nails. And the final polish - probably the worse I've ever gotten. She left polish all over the sides and the edges aren't flush. They also charge $.25 extra for credit cards, which obviously isn't a big deal, but didn't tell me until I got my receipt and saw myself. I am shocked that between choosing colors, paying, and drying time, I was out in 30 minutes. Too quick in my opinion. read more

Bad job. Nails start to peel one week in, there were bubbles. It looked like I painted my own nails from home, which is not good.

I called a list of salon because I broke a nail and the salon who usually takes care of me is closed. The woman who answered phone freaked out because they are closing in 30 minutes...this is a missed opportunity. They could have provided a level of service that cause me to change where I took care of my nails. I happy to see that they have so much business they don't need more. This is not my usual nail salon but was visiting my sister so we tried this place with the limited time we had. The manicurist who was supposed to give me both the pedicure and manicure moved on to another guest who didn't have an appointment once my pedi was completed and said someone would be right with me. I waited another 15 minutes - fine. That wasn't the problem. The next manicurist came and did not even remove my gel from previously fully. I pointed and called it out and she completely ignored it. Now my nails are not even on top and my 10 nails are also filed in different shapes and lengths not to mention peeling already two days following (I got gel again). They completely lacked skill and professionalism and there is absolutely no ventilation. I will not be returning. read more

You wanna get your nails all fancy, and have it last for almost a month? Come here, and ask for Tammy. She is a perfectionist when it comes to doing a full set that will last for a century. I came here because my friend got me a gift certificate for a spa pedicure (which retails at $18). It was my first time here, and I actually didn't even know it existed, because it's sort of hidden on the side of towne center. Anyway, I went on a Sunday, and it was quite busy. However, I only had to wait about 5-10 minutes for my turn. I got the spa pedicure and since it had been ages since I'd gotten a pedicure, I decided to get some flower decorations as well ($5). My nail person did a good job. The manicure was very cute, thick, and neat. The flowers were pretty cute too (although she offered really only once choice). My pedicure lasted about a month, which is not bad. I would def. go back for a basic pedicure. I might go somewhere else to do extras like a deep exfoliating on my feet and callus removal. This place is terrible. I stopped in for some waxing and it was BY FAR the WORST waxing experience I've ever had. She got wax on my clothes, didn't test it to see if it was too hot, spread it way too thick and then pulled straight up instead of against the grain while holding the skin taut. Oh my gosh, it was awful. DO NOT go there for waxing. Seriously. You're better off plucking them yourself. read more

If I could 0 stars I would...okay so the ladies were nice, but the service sucked. I mean $20 for a pedi...I'm expecting it to be A-1 on point, so that wasn't the case the girl put the polish on so thick that it started to run and look thin around the nail bed. "Should had taken a picture" anyways had her remove she tried to polish again same things. Then I chose another color and then a man who was running the shop polished my toes and now the polish was uneven. I was honest and said I hadn't paid. But I thought he would try to discount me nope wrong. So I told him I'm not paying $42 together with my gel mani because I will have to go somewhere else for polish. He said I'll take $2 off, but I'm a have to pay the next shop $5 to 6 so we argued he finally took off $5 dollars. Ladies if your young I suggest staying away from this shop as it looks like they cater to older women. I will never step feet in this shop again. Thanks for the poor service read more

Later I told her one of my nails was crooked and she scoffed again & told me "you need to relax!" I went here today during my lunch break. I got a new person who I've never seen before. Her work was beyond horrible. I can't believe I wasted an hour on a poor manicure. She barely trimmed my cuticle and the paint job was so bad that she missed certain spots and some fingers have bubbles on them. WTH. I will most likely not be returning unless I get May/Mai (forgot her name). This place is awful, no quality control of any sort. I should have listened to the other reviewers. I went here for the first time & the workers were very friendly! There was no wait at all and the waxing process went by very quickly. I usually get my eyebrows threaded at another location, but I decided to wax them and it was an overall good experience. The price for eyebrow waxing is also super affordable & i'm very satisfied with my clean, even eyebrows! Highly recommend! read more

I came to this shop for a fill as I sit down the lady removes my polish and in 2.2 basically snapped off all my nail and says u need a new set. I'm all for the opinion that I need a new set but why not just let me know that instead of acting like u are nipping off the lifted acrylic and being super aggressive and snapping all the acrylic off my nail then saying get a new set. I wanted a super simple design and the gel polish they use is super thick and it was horrible. Tina who did my nails did try to fix it by removing the gel and redoing it with a different gel polish but her work got sloppy on the redo bc she had another customer waiting. As u can see in my pic the gel polish is all over my cuticles and the glitter polish is running over my nail bed and super thick. The stones are not lined up straight and I told her and it's still not right. Long story short it's the day b4 thanksgiving I will have to deal with this for the day then go somewhere else to get it fixed. read more

I usually get good service here but this time I had to ask the lady doing my "spa" pedicure to turn on the massage feature on the chair I was sitting in. I also had to ask for soap when my feet were soaking! She filled the basin with plain water and proceeded to start my pedicure without any soap or foot soak. To top it all off she cut me. I was Very disappointed and will not return here again! Plus they try to sell you additional services, even after saying no several times. They really need to learn customer service and listen to their customers instead of insisting or arguing with them. read more

I used to get my nails done here all the time because it's the closest to my house. I just recently changed to a different salon because the quality of the work they do does not match the price I pay. I just came back here yesterday though and the gel manicure I paid for was well worth the price. But I don't recommend coming here if you want a good quality Mani pedi. read more

I go here for Karen. She is awesome. I am always disappointed when i get my nails done by others here. I would say that if Karen is not there either go somewhere else OR don't expect too much. I think they can be a little cleaner on their instruments. I was a little grossed out because i noticed that she didn't clean the nail clipper (the other tools, yes) and REUSED the nail filler. I found this place back in the mid 90s when I worked in Cerrito's and I've been coming back for over 23 years! Michelle is friendly, fast, efficient and does a wonderful job on my nails. Mai does my pedicures and is always meticulous as I am picky! I would definitely recommend Hi-Tek nails. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! I couldn't get the nails i wanted because the worker is so rude. I asked for round NOT square nails and asked her kindly to file it rounder and she shook her head and gave me the loudest sigh and started talking vietnamese which i knew was meant for me. Also, the sample colors do not match the actual nail polish and she was in such a hurry to work on her next client she did a poor job on me, leaving nail polish all over the edges of my nail and on my skin. She didnt even complete the final step by wiping down the nails with alcohol which left my nails sticky and had to be fixed taking more time. Basically this could have been avoided if she had not rushed and done the job right from the beginning. read more

If I could give this place NO stars, I would! Where do I even begin? First, little to no polish selection, they rushed my entire manicure and pedicure and failed miserably at doing both. The pedicure consisted of soaking my feet in warm water and they even failed to put lotion on my legs/feet. They filed my nails crooked and did the worst paint job I've ever seen. I actually had to tell them how to paint an entire nail. It was beyond pathetic and I would never recommend this place to anyone nor will I ever return. I've been going to this place for the last 4 years and never had a bad experience like I had today. Never go to this place ever. My mom and I went this place to spend the afternoon together. We walked in and they said they would take us right away. Then my mom ended waiting 15 mins until someone finished up so they work on my mom's pedicure. Then half through the pedicure the lady got up and starting work on someones eles nails. Customer service sucks and I would never set set foot in their door again. WORST experience EVER! I went for a mani/pedi. The manicurist didn't even shape the nails the same or evenly. She left some squared, some round, and some were even at an angle. I had to point it out for her to fix it! Then she left the polish on the sides of my fingers and didn't bother to remove it. Then, I show them the design I want for my ring finger, their 2 attempts, by 2 different people were terrible! Nothing close to what I had wanted! I asked for them just to do. Design they know And they said it looked fine and refused to fix it! I will never spend another dime there! Worst experience by far. I could have done a better job myself! read more

I used to come here a lot when I was younger, however I hadn't been here for a while. The nail places that I usually go to happened to be overbooked that day, so I decided to come back to hi-tek. I had a manicure done, and a pedicure as well. The lady who did my pedicure, I think her name was Michelle, she was quite good! I even accidentally messed up the paint, and she fixed it without any grumbling. This review is primarily for the guy who does the nails there. First of all, he is EXTREMELY lazy! The reason I say this is, because I had a chipped nail and he put some glue on it, however he didn't put enough, so the nail was lifting up again. When I had told him about this issue, he said that he had already put the glue on it, so it should be OK. The second reason why he is lazy is because he had put two coats on, for my gel manicure, however my nail bed was still visible through the paint, so I asked him to do a third coat, and he was extremely unhappy about that. He also very clumsy, he nipped me on my arm with the Electric tool that is used to shave off the gel paint. He is absolutely not good for business, and I will definitely not be coming back. I am very sorry to say this! If you happen to go here, definitely do not, I repeat do not get the guy to do your nails! He will mess you up! read more

I came here years ago and stopped when a particular worker continuously did a poor job. I'm horrible after asking for someone else, I always feel bad and don't want to hurt their feelings. I came here ago and saw the same horrible worker, but was lucky enough to get the guy who runs the place. He did a great job and I started to come here again. I was always lucky and got him and ended up with great nails. A month ago I came in and as luck would have it I got the horrible woman from years ago. I kept quiet and hoped she had improved over the years. No such luck. I had to refile my nails myself before I let her paint them. A few hours later two nails started to bubble and peel. Today I was desperate and stupidly came here again. Of course I got the horrible woman and she lived up to her prior work. All of my nails are uneven. I have polish all over my cuticles. She didn't even massage my hands. She poured lotion all over my arms and barely massaged plot in and never massaged my hands. Weird. My fault for not speaking up and asking for someone else. read more
