The food and service were excellent, the premises were impeccably maintained, and the staff was exceptionally courteous. I chose to dine after lunch, and the premises remained impeccably clean, with constant replenishment being provided.

Let's remember I'm new to "RVA".... So I stumbled upon this spot, read the reviewers & decided to give it a try. What a hidden Gem!! This restaurant reminds me of my favorite place back home in DC. I am really big on customer service and this place has it!! Everyone was very nice and kind and attentive to your needs. The price is fair! The food quality is top tier! The food has flavor and taste so fresh like I had it made to order. They have lunch and dinner prices aswell as fresh seafood & Hibachi cooked to order. The traffic is not so busy inside. There's soft music plying in background. The atmosphere was nice. There wasn't a lot of noise even with the kids present. It's a nice family friendly, date night or solo lunch date friendly place. I will definitely come back.

I was in this side of town and decided to stop by and get some lunch to go. Back in the day I think this place used to be teppanyaki grill and buffet. This place is 1000 time better and so much cleaner. The food is hot and fresh and the price is amazing. I will be dining here soon to get my moneys worth.

Seafood. What more do you need?

This has got to be a first. A Chinese buffet that has almost 5 stars. I was looking for oysters and decided to settle on a Chinese buffet with crab legs. I arrive for dinner (now 19.99) and they have oysters!!! Not the best oysters in the world but for the price, I was happy. Food is hot and fresh, wait staff is quick on clean up and refills and the place has a typical Chinese buffet feel to it. Best one I have been to.

Good sushi and Chinese food selection, everything I got was good although of course not authentic. Very nice atmosphere too, interior is very pretty and large. Hard to pass up a place like this when it's a buffet and yet costs less than one roll of sushi at a normal restaurant.

This place is wonderful. I did not expect it to be so good. Just decided to try because we had a coupon. I started with the sushi bar. It is very good. But it is all wrapped sushi. So it is filling. You have to get a drink with the meal. I got a diet soda. Spouse got unsweetened tea. I took a picture of my desserts. They were refreshing and good. I would recommend this place. It was clean and friendly service. Although you actually service yourself. Not certain the server understands English. I was complimenting the place and she brought me a take out cup. They give you fortune cookies with the check. Overall I enjoyed this place and will be back.

The service was great and our server was extremely attentive. The ambiance is mellow with sturdy furniture and clean dining area. However, the food was not up to par IMHO. The quantity was there but quality was lacking - taste of the food was not I'm usually accustomed to. The buffet line need a bit of attending. Price point is not bad for what they offer hence the 3-star rating.

Took a quick trip down to Richmond for the first time and this place kept popping up. We got there…read morenice and early but there was already a line out the door. The meats here were very good - extremely tender with a nice smoky flavor. I was personally a huge fan of the spare ribs and my girlfriend loved the prime rib (which I have never seen at a BBQ place before!). The sides were a bit lackluster and just ok, but service was friendly. While a bit pricey, I would definitely come back just for the meats! Meats: Brisket, Prime Rib, Pork Spare Ribs and Sausage Links Sides: Jalapeño Mac and Cheese, Potato Salad and Collard Greens

First, let me preface this by saying that I grew up in North Texas for the majority of my life…read more Second, I've had a LOT of BBQ during that time. Well known standards from the area including Angelo's, Railhead, Heim's, Cousin's, and a lot of old places that are no longer in existence. Each one offering its own spin on a Texas standard. Upon moving to Virginia, I hadn't ventured out to any of the BBQ joints, but one of my associates from the office would often talk about ZZQ. I had assumed that Virginians had a concept of BBQ that was akin to shredding some meat and pouring BBQ sauce on it. So, I finally had the courage to visit ZZQ a few weeks ago to pick up an order to go. I arrived just before opening time on a Saturday morning. There was a line that extended just down to the street. Probably 40 feet or so. Figured this would go pretty quickly once the doors opened. I was wrong. After 15 minutes, I had only moved about 5 feet. The line was building behind me, but simply appeared to have gotten stuck somewhere in front of me. After about 40 minutes, I had finally made it to the front door. Inside, there was another line up to the cutters. There were menus to peruse and a large sign with all the cuts and sides you could think of. A great variety. As I got closer to the front, I realized that it wasn't the cutters causing such a slow procession, but the customers. As I listed to them talk, most seemed to have absolutely no clue what they wanted at all. Did I mention the menus and billboards? They seemed to want to chat about food and prep more than just order. Had this been in Texas, the mob of a line would have escorted you out. When you get to the cutters, you know what you want. No time to dilly-dally. I got up to the cutter and placed my order. I was getting a variety, so I went for 1/2 a chicken, 1.5 lbs of sliced brisket, a couple of sausages, mac and cheese, cole slaw, and sauces. The cutter gave me a chunk of the brisket. Definitely moist, a bit overly fatty, but tasty. Their idea is the "meat has enough flavor so that you don't need sauce." He also mentioned they smoke with oak wood. Good to know. The taste is good. Probably as close to a Texas style as you can get, but with some small exceptions. Mesquite wood is often used in Texas for smoking. Plentiful, but obviously costly to transport outside of Texas. It has an exquisite flavor that is just right for BBQ. The second is the sauce. I like sauce...GOOD BBQ sauce! Unfortunately this is where ZZQ falls short. I didn't care for their sauce at all. Too vinegary and liquidy for the lighter sauce, and too heavy with molasses with the other one. So, I had to make do an whip up a small batch of homemade sauce at home that helped to bring it together. All the folks at ZZQ made it for a nice experience. Definitely customer oriented and friendly. I think the BBQ is as close to Texas-style as you can find in these parts, but kind of a miss on the sauce. Still, I can either make my own or buy a bottle at the local store if I want. Definitely worth a try, but you will need patience with a barrage of people who clearly have a lot of questions about BBQ.

Yoshi Sushi: All-You-Can-Eat... but also All-You-Better-Respect-the-Rules…read more Let me start by saying this: "All You Can Eat" at Yoshi Sushi is not a meal... it's a legally binding challenge. I walked in confident. Hungry. Delusional. I walked out humbled... and slightly monitored. First off, the deal sounds amazing--$29.99 all-you-can-eat sushi? Say less. I immediately started ordering like I was preparing for a competitive eating documentary. "Yeah I'll take the Rainbow, the Volcano, the Godzilla, the Spider Man, the Yoshi, the Jurassic, the Ocean Star, the Dragon, the Red Dragon, and emotionally... I'm not okay." Food starts coming out and I realize two things: 1. Everything is actually really good 2. I have made a terrible, irreversible decision The Volcano Roll? Erupting with flavor. The Godzilla Roll? Destroyed my self-control. The Spider Man Roll? Saved me from ordering even worse things... barely. And the Crazy Roll? Accurate name because at this point I've lost all sense of reality. BUT HERE'S THE THING... Yoshi doesn't play games. You see that tiny line on the menu? "Please do not waste food... additional charges will be applied." Oh, they mean that. This is not a suggestion. This is a warning from people who have seen things. Halfway through, I'm slowing down. The table is full. My spirit is fading. And suddenly... I feel it. Eyes on me. Not aggressive. Not obvious. Just... aware. Like the sushi itself is watching to see if I finish it. At one point I considered hiding a roll in my pocket like a criminal, but I'm pretty sure they would've sensed it immediately and charged me emotionally AND financially. Pro tip: Order in rounds. Do NOT let your ego order for you. Your stomach cannot cash the checks your confidence is writing. Also shoutout to: Purple rice option - didn't know I needed it, now I'm questioning regular rice entirely Appetizers - gyoza and tempura came in hot like they knew I was about to overdo it Service - fast, efficient, and quietly keeping track of your life choices By the end, I finished everything on my plate out of pure respect and mild fear. AI Summary (but real): Food: Fire Value: Incredible... IF you don't get penalized Service: Friendly but lowkey observant like FBI agents Experience: Fun, chaotic, slightly stressful in the best way Final Verdict: All-you-can-eat here isn't just a deal... It's a bet. And Yoshi is very comfortable letting you lose.
