Just ordered the snow crab legs and it was delicious! Loved the wine served in cups and the staff were wonderful!

The service was fine but the food was less than mediocre. I don't recommend it and you can tell a buffet isn't that great when you don't go back to get more plates. I grabbed a total of two plates and didn't come close to finishing either. The food was not prepared well and quite dry and flavorless. I am not "that guy" that complains and asks for a refund from a resteraunt experience. But i came close with this place. Even left feeling a bit sick/ nauseous. Wouldn't recommend. read more

This establishment is one of the grossest places I've been to. Everything that I've tried was dry, chewy and not very appetizing. I only had a few bites of very little things to realize the food was not quality. The bathrooms were not clean, crickets in the bathroom & the entire place smelled horrible. What a deal! Hibachi buffet is huge and diversed. There countless stations include choices for all. Seafood, meat, chicken, vegetarian, gluten-free, they have it all. Lunch buffet is only $8.99. Kids under 3 eat free. Seniors and military get 10% off! They deserve five stars for what they put out and the value offered. I tried the baked salmon, steamed shrimp and sauteed shrimp, sushi, seaweed salad, it all tasted good! I would STAY FAR AWAY!!! I hate being so dramatic, but what happened tonight was all drama. My family and I enjoy frequenting this establishment & it had been a little minute since we visited. We decided to come here over our typical Korean BBQ place and I surely wish we hadn't. When it comes to buffets I tend to be a creature of habit. Mostly seafood, anything dumpling related and maybe the hibachi grill - well, tonight was no different... until ... I bit into the first leg of my last tempura fried blue crab. Ugh! I shudder to think about it, but, what type of person would I be had I not spread the news about this restaurant serving rotten food? It's almost 3am and right now as I type this WARNING - I've literally got goosebumps, the hairs on my arm are sticking straight up, I'm writhing in pain from stomach cramps and I've considered grabbing a pillow to sleep on my bathroom floor. And why would I want to sleep on my bathroom floor? Why am I describing my physical pain? Please read on... So, as I left off - I bit into my last crab and something was immediately off. The large lump of crab meat slid down my throat and burned all the way down. I suddenly had this strange numbing sensation all across my gum line, inside my cheeks, and on both of my lips. The s&!@ started getting real weird as I was telling my husband about my symptoms my vision dimmed a bit, and my head kind of buckled as if I was on my way to passing out. I picked up the crab leg and smelled it, and there was this strong stench of ammonia coming from it! Then I picked up the remaining cluster, tore it apart and damn, same thing. My husband (whom does not eat crab) smelled the cluster and immediately started gagging. Of course I did what any normal person would do in this situation. I Googled "crab smells like ammonia" of course. And to my surprise. BAM! Tons of content from poor unsuspecting victims asking what to do if they've ingested crab that reeks of ammonia. Apparently, crabs that smell like ammonia are way, WAY past their expiration date and are literally decomposing. So, ha! Screw me and my GI tract and neurological health. We called over the manager and had him smell the plate. We made sure not to tell him what we knew the smell was prior, and studied his reaction. He took a whiff and immediately began to explain how they buy in bulk and have no way to tell which crabs go bad. He comped my meal and without any fuss cause he knew not to try that s@!$ with me! I'm pretty sure the crabs ancestors could smell it's rotten ass at this juncture of it's... death? Anywho, I'm sick and all is not well. I went with my family for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised with the service and food! Our waitress was always checking on us and got us refills on our drinks right as we needed it. There was so much variety of food to choose from and the food was more fresh than the other Chinese buffets I've been to here in AZ. The price is affordable and worth it! I really want to give this place a 5th star but they missed out because the sushi had been sitting out and was a touch dry. Granted, I ate at 4pm and the sushi chef was busy making more in anticipation for the dinner rush, but I suggest you cover the sushi with clear film or up the humidity in the serving area. But nonetheless, the entrees were pretty tasty. I did review the prior Yelp and Google reviews, and with the exception of 1 person who got some bad crab, most of the reviews were good. So here comes my assessment. First. The place is very spread out with LOTS of seating, both booth and table. The host/hostess were very polite and got me to a table right in the center of the buffet serving area. Second. Theres no fishy, stale, oily or unappetizing odors. Everything looked and smelled fresh. Next, the food. Here's my standard pattern of getting food. First I check out the quantity of Snow Crab legs. If it's full, I get a plate full immediately. After placing them on my table, I usually get cold food first. I got oysters, squid salad, sushi, sashimi, some kimchi, a few assorted pickles and chopsticks. I never get warm food right away because it will get cold after a few minutes at my table. Crab legs were fresh, the shell snapped quickly, no bending like a bungee cord. Squid salad and oysters were very tasty. Sushi I mentioned and kimchi was a little bland. Personal taste but i prefer a bit more spicy. On to the warm food. Steamed clams, steamed bok choi, kung pao chicken, a touch of beef and broccoli. Clams. First rate. Bok choi was crisp and tasty, kung pao and beef and broccoli were ok. The beef was marinated and fork tender. My last combination was egg drop soup ( salty) won ton, shu mai, bbq pork steamed buns (manapua) and a beef rib. Beef rib was really tasty. Almost a sweet and sour basting sauce, the rest was good but nothing special. Now, I'm sure I was being watched because I kept walking around, taking photlis and writing notes after each bite. But the wait staff left me alone. Oh, and yes standard dessert, ice cream and fruit but I didnt get any. Didnt see any orange jello. Hmmm? At check out, the cashier asked me how everything was. I said very good. Also showed him my veterans card and got 10% off. I really and truly appreciate this gesture! So overall, a pretty good meal. Hibachi is in Mesa on Southern and Alma School. Jus a few minutes from downtown Phoenix. Prices for the weekend buffet was $17. Pretty darn good after my discount. Please give this place a try. I know others might have had a bad experience here but I think ( and hope) that was a one time experience. read more

Food was fresh and hot busy as hell did run out of crab legs a few times but with level of customers that can be expected. They will try and add a drink to your order while paying for meal without saying anything about up charge. This is how they introduce themselves " 2 for the buffet and which drinks would you like,". Better more straight forward way is to say would you like a drink with the buffet with an up charge of $2.99 per drink? To solve crab legs running out add 2 more spots in buffet line an pull items that are not moving. I like to give suggestions not just complaints. All in all great food, service and quality. Servers were friendly. The rap music was an interesting choice. This place was super busy on a Saturday night. It was a little discouraging seeing other people carry plates of crab legs stacked a mile high while the rest of us had to wait for more to be brought out. I remember the Mens restroom was dirty. The food quality was just ok, nothing to brag about. I paid $19.48 with tax, no drink, before a tip. I feel there are better buffets around for a similar price. The sea food should be on one side of the buffet and non sea food on the other side of the buffet. This would just help if somebody was allergic to seafood they can still eat here or not have to worry about the seafood contaminating with the non seafood. Not returning. Cool concept. I like the hibachi part. But a lot of dry tasting, overcooked, unappealing food. The floors, one of my big THINGS were ill kept as were bathrooms. These are signs that I probably would not be a fan if the cleanliness of the kitchen. With this place, i get scared off for use of MSG. Some places claim no MSG, but use it anyway to preserve food for use again the next day. I have a very critical ALLERGIC reaction to MSG. The food is 4 stars for the price, but the service is a 2 stars. The waitress was using the same gloves to refill your drinks, pickup trash from the floor and bus tables. In comparisons with other Asian Buffets they definitely have more food varieties. The quality of food is average. The positive is that because the place is usually always busy the food is usually fresh. The decor leaves much to be desired. We are on the hunt to replace our usual China City buffet as our usual place. We also went to Lins Grand Buffet so I'm comparing Hibachi against it. The food was equally as good but Hibachi had some items Lins didn't (BBQ bao and coconut shrimp) Hibachi's selection was clearly labeled which is a plus as I'm visually impaired. This is a Chinese buffet.. don't come here expecting Hilton hotel service. The waiters are sweet and will do their best to grab your plates with the staff they have and the amount of tables they cover. I love their weekend crab legs but definitely have to rumble for them. Reading all the poor reviews prior to going tonight didn't detour me from my recent visit to Hibachi. The amount of food presented was incredible. The sushi rolls were great and the well kept stock of hot plates were filled with everything you could imagine. The place was busy and so was the food. We were still seated very fast and plates were picked up quickly. Dinner tonight was 9.99, soda/tea was extra. They catered to everyone's taste including kids and those who don't always prefer Asian cuisine. I'm sorry for those who stated they were not impressed and could not have anything more to complain about other than take pictures of dirty restrooms to which my only response to that would be, try it again...it was grand opening week that you went and I'm sure the kinks have been resolved. Hibachi? Super buffet? Let's go! The restaurant is spacious and can seat a lot of patrons. The food is your standard Chinese buffet type foods, with maybe a little more soup selection (They had hot and sour, egg drop, and wonton soup when we went). The sushi looked very dubious, so I stayed clear for the most part. I did try some snapper nigiri, which wasn't very fresh tasting. The baked fish item for the night was a large baked salmon, which tasted strangely mushy, so I only ate a few bites. There weren't any crab legs when we went, just fish. Service was fast and friendly, and empty trays at the buffet were promptly refilled as needed. A partial deterrent for me though, was that a lot of the customers here came with their kids which were for the most part unsupervised, so there were a lot of little sticky hands running through the buffet items. read more

My husband treated me here for a second time because we love it. Just wanted to put down more delicious stuff that they have because the variety of food is remarkable: stuffed mushrooms, crabmeat, baked scallops, lobster, shrimp ceviche, teriyaki broccoli. On the American side, I did notice roasted duck, BQ ribs and buffalo wings. This time, I had my helping of sushi, but with tofu and shrimp ceviche. Good place to go to grab a quick lunch with variety. Typical American Chinese food, lots of soups, dumplings... Some items that are more unexpected...tacos, flautas, chicken wings, pizza (although this may be for the kiddos or kids at heart mostly). They also have sushi (I'm not a fan of buffet sushi) and a grill with it's own buffet of ingredients. I like this place for an early lunch and I usually get the grill item after choosing a ton of veggies. I haven't been here for dinner and if you have a later lunch, there are a lot of kids here. I've had the chicken wings and they are yummy. A nice balance to my plate of grilled veggies hahah. The place is BIG and there is lots of parking. It's my first time in Mesa, Arizona and I arrived early in the morning, spent a day visiting a company that lasted til late afternoon, and I realized I have eaten anything yet. Of course a buffet would be a great option to fill my Jawaiian stomach! I found this place not to far from my hotel and decided to go check it out. I walked in and the receptionist simply said, "Hello, how many people?" "Just myself please." Then she called over to one of the waitstaff members in her language and I was immediately seated. The place was a bit quiet for dinner service. It later in as I continued to dine, it did start to pick up. I went to check out the buffet and this is what I found... The dessert island is hosts an array of cookies, pastries like shortbread cookies, coco puffs, cream puffs, assorted jello cubes with no labeling to let you in on what the flavored are. The next island was a bit confusing, on one half it looked like a salad bar, but there were no lettuce or romaine (they were actually on another island) just topping like croutons, raisins, sunflower seeds, etc and all kinds of dressings. The other half was assorted seafood fare, shrimp, crabs, oysters etc... Then next island featured you're usually standard Chinese food offerings and then the lettuce and romaine I noticed as I continued on there was pizza , a taco bar, and several soups. Interesting...n'est-ce pas? Ok, so on with what I had: Chicken wings - super juicy, crispy on the outside, this was the shining star of everything I had! Pot stickers - #Rubbery Beef ribs - they were so juicy and soft, it slid easily off the bone, however, they were bland. Solution: I created a little dipping sauce from the sweet soy sauce for dumplings and added some wasabi from the sushi island, and Bam! Yeah, you have to do what you can to doctor something up! The green beans were ok. Al Dente but they were slathered in a teriyaki sauce. It didn't wow me. Chicken meatballs are good - no complaints there! Kim chee - I wish they never drained the juice from the plating. What happened was, the Kim chee was dry and had no flavor. Tofu - you can't screw up raw tofu, I just created my own sauce of soyu & scallion I found at their grill section. Hehehe Egg drop soup- it was a little too thick and bland. I added soyu to it. Orange chicken was a bit of surprise. Often times it's all breaking and very little hint of chicken meat. In this instance, it was actually pretty good. During my dining experience, I noticed that it was hot and muggy in the area I as sitting at. I asked and found out that the air conditioning wasn't turned on! I noticed most of the staff didn't speak much English very well, so your patience will be needed here at this restaurant. Overall, the food was okay, but I probably would not recommend this place to anyone. I skipped dessert and closed out the tab and walked away into the sunset! :) read more

Have been eating here for years. It has always been delicious with a wonderful selection and is incredibly well priced (during the weekday lunch, only $8). Really like the sushi -- all you can eat makes it Extremely affordable compared to Anywhere else that I know of. This place is ok. It's a buffet, with tons of variety. Tacos, soups, pizza, fried rice, chicken wings, sushi, salads, fish, chow mein, vegetables, cakes, jello, ice cream, and a hibachi station! I come here just for the hibachi station! Create your own plate! Yum! On this day, my server seemed to forget about my table and our dirty plates started to pile up! For the most part though, they stay on top of the refills and the plates. The dining area is huge here!! There are tons of tables and they are all spread out. The name "super buffet" is aptly used at this restaurant. Not only do they have wall-to-wall food choices, but the service and facility were super. Going on a Saturday or Sunday provides all-you-can-eat crab legs, although they tasted not so fresh. They have a little something for everyone, including the little ones. The organization of the buffet was great and all of your run staple American-Chinese foods were grouped together nicely. The desert offerings were a little to be desired and don't seem to be made on the premises. It would have been 3 stars, as some of the food was over cooked or not seasoned or not as fresh as you'd like, however, the wait staff is extremely attentive; plates were always cleared timely and never had to ask for a refill, warranting a 4th Star. I like the other Hibachi grill buffets and this one was not a disappointment. It's a large buffet restaurant with a wide selection of dishes, mostly Asian including a sushi counter and a Mongolian grill. There are also a few non-Asian items such as tacos, pizza, platanos, and a salad bar. I also found items not commonly served in other buffets: these include simple fried fish (not breaded filets) and tom yum soup. I tried most of the items and all that I tried were good, with the exception of the sushi which was lackluster. The building itself is accessible as it's on the northeast corner with plenty of entry/exits. Plenty of parking. When you walk in, you're directed to pay...The cashier points at the counter and says "which soda", as there's a large placemat with pics of all their soft drinks. What they DO NOT tell you is that it is NOT included in the exorbitant lunch price of $12.49. **Their web site shows lunch prices are $11.99... The drinks are an addition $2.99. Then a tip is asked up front as well---which I do not do because I have no idea what type of service they provide other than picking up used plates. The buffet; it does have a large variety of salads, puddings, fruits, fish, Chinese dishes (lo mein, kung po chicken et), and fried foods, i.e. egg rolls, crab puffs, and also a dessert table and a Mongolian grill. The issue I had was not the variety of the buffet, it was the FLAVOR of the foods I tried! Example, the lo mein was bland, the fried rice had no flavor and was undercooked, the egg foo yung was mostly batter... I tried a spoonful of many dishes and the only thing that I found appealing was the teriyaki chicken. The other issue is the clients...be prepared to elbow your way through as people have very little manners, i.e. they reach across you or over you to get to a ladle, instead of waiting a few seconds for you to serve yourself. People behave as if it's their last meal on earth---all you can eat, NOT all you can carry---wow! The server we had was cheerful and kept up with removing the plates.
