We felt badly as it was 100 degrees heatwave outside and inside was just an industrial fan trying to mitigate the stifling heat and stuffiness. The price is definitely good for the portions and the show they put on. Please do not look at the amount of butter they must slather onto the cooktop for each menu item and side.... It looks like a huge snowball. They also give coupons in the Valpack mail, which is surprising because I usually don't see any place I would like to visit. I've been coming to this Hibachi location for over 25 years. I visited last night with a first time guest and our reservation was at 7:30 and we didn't get drinks until 8. We didn't get soup and salad till 8:15 and our waitress was very dismissive to our table. No sign of a chef! There were at least 7 chefs when we got there but by 8:30, still no signs of chef, food sitting in the chefs prep area for over 30 minutes! I was extremely frustrated, I visited the hostess stand because our waitress was in the back counting her tips (watched her do this), the hostess was very confused that I said we still haven't had a chef and they close at 9. She was confused and said she would notify a manager. She came to our table and said 10 more minutes. Then our waitress came by 5 minutes later saying 5 more minutes. Our chef finally arrived at 8:35 and starts rushing our meal. Didn't prep the sauces, didn't put down zucchini, chef gave my guest the wrong order, no onion volcano, no offer of sprouts, everything felt rushed and lacked any kind of customer service! Not to mention, the ac wasn't on and it was so hot and miserable inside! They have paper fans probably because they don't run the ac! What dissapointed me the most was the service and the lack of any kind of management coming to apologize! We paid over $120 for our meal and there was no apology, no drinks on the house, no dessert, not a single ounce of sympathy for the terrible service. The waitress "dropped" out all of our checks on the table with an attitude as if we were an inconvenience she couldn't leave at closing. I visited twice in the last month and I never should have gone a second time. Our friends love it so I thought I would give it another shot. We had reservations or 6:30pm and the host never acknowledged us. After 15 min of waiting, my husband flagged down a server to let her know we were waiting. We didn't get seated until 7pm and it took another 20 min to finally get our drinks and food ordered. We didn't get our food until 7:45pm. This happened BOTH times we went. The chef seemed like he hated working there. He didn't interact with us. There were no ticks or jokes. The food was mediocre and under seasoned. I don't think they turn on the AC. Both times we went it was uncomfortably hot. The chef was sweating and so was the server. It was pretty bad. I will not back. read more

Have been coming to Hibachi Steakhouse for over 30 years, usually for special occasions. It's sad to know that it is no longer family-owned (now part of the Shogun chain of restaurants). Luckily, the food is still excellent; however, as many other reviewers noted, they either do not have A/C or refuse to turn it on. They actually give you hand-held paper fans at each seat so you can fan yourself! They did have an industrial-sized room fan near our table but all that did was blow all of the cooking smoke directly into my face. :-( In fact, it seemed like in addition to no A/C, they were not using the hood fans above each cook station because the smoke was definitely not going up at all. We were seated pretty promptly, within about 10 mins of our reservation time. Drink orders were taken right away and we had our soup and salad before the chef arrived. They still do the typical "show", which had stopped for a while in years past. And they do acknowledge the special occasions again, which had also fallen by the wayside in the past. Lots of VERY loud drum banging for lots of birthdays in the house. I'm sure I will be back, but only once a year. read more

My only criticism is that the protein portions were a little smaller than expected, especially compared to the generous amount of veggies. A bit more protein would have made it even better. Came with my girlfriend's meetup group, she was cross hosting with another group so there were about 20 of us seated at 2 different but adjacent tables. I always enjoy eating at hibachi places because it's like getting a show along with dinner. Food was tasty and plentiful. Prices are in line with other hibachi steak restaurants. We love places like this in our area, but this one is definitely our favorite! Staff is quick, friendly, and the portions are great. I always have plenty of food while we are there and enough to take home for leftovers the next day. The plum wine they offer is also amazing. It gets busy fast so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation and some cooks are more interactive / conversational than others but all experiences have been positive. We come multiple times a year, typically with family for birthday dinner celebrations. They also do a little something special for birthdays so that's a nice touch. Very nice staff and cook, however the facility is not up to par. In the middle of our meal, the room started to smell like a swimming pool due to the chemicals they were using in the back. When I used the ladies room, it smelled very strongly of mildew and there was no changing table either. I used to love Hibachi Steakhouse -- prior to Covid 2020. I went there to celebrate my wife's B-day and found all of our food to be BLAND and BORING, Oh, it was all fresh -- but tasteless. Our teppan chief had 19 years experience, but didn't talk to anyone at our station. He also, nor did the other chiefs around us, have any fun or dazzle anyone with their cutlery skills. And when it came time for the staff to sing Happy Birthday, they did a great job, but they came with a small metal plate with a small tea light lit in the middle and melted wax all round the plate. Very disappointing... To me, a hibachi is an experience, not just a meal. Our cook took our orders, and that was the last we heard from him. There was no fanfare, no fun, no interaction, nada. From an entertainment standpoint, it was a complete egg. The quality of the food was worse (if that can be believed). I ordered the scallops and they tasted like they came directly from the frozen food section at Walmart. And, it was served with rice. No veggies? Maybe I expected too much: I was looking for a lively, communal event with friends where the chef participates and the meal becomes an "experience". $400 got me rubbery scallops and fried rice. Hibachi Steakhouse has turned into our favorite place to go whenever we're craving hibachi. My boyfriend has gotten me back into enjoying hibachi steakhouses. His favorite growing up was a pretty well known place that tends to have long wait times and long shows before you even get your food, which in my opinion tastes pretty mediocre. I was skeptical about trying this place out, but I'm a fan! Reservations are not that difficult to get on week nights. Our party was able to make reservations the day of, which is shocking considering how small the place is. We've also visited without making reservations (also on a week night) and we were seated right away. A huge plus! Dishes are reasonably priced, especially for the amount of food you get: soup, salad, veggies, fried rice, your selected protein/combo, bean sprouts. Everything is cooked in front of you aside from the soup and salad. The mushroom soup has great flavor. It's the perfect portion size to start your meal off and it's also served pretty warm (I think it could be served hotter). Their salad with their ginger dressing is delicious. It's unfortunate that my last experience had almost frozen-like pieces of salad. For protein, I highly recommend their steak as it's SUPER tender. I've paired their steak with either their calamari (tender & delicious!) or their scallops (fresh & perfectly cooked). As far as them cooking in front of you, I'm a huge fan of how they don't put on a show to drag out your meal. There's no egg shell/hat tricks, no spatula tossing tricks and no corny jokes. They confirm your order, confirm how you like your meats cooked, cook your food in front of you and they clean up. Service is extremely friendly and quick.
