My go to local sushi spot. I've tried some other places looking for the best quality sushi around me. Fish in a Bottle is by far my favorite and super close to my community which is convenient when I get the craving. I love the salmon skin roll extra crispy. The location is small so big parties should definitely call ahead to make sure they can accommodate you. Eunice, Steven, Jose and the whole staff are always welcoming and ready to serve you something yummy which I appreciate. We were excited to try this location after a day with our kids, but it was very disappointing. The ahi tuna tasted like it came from a can and was poorly presented, and the chicken was completely flavorless with a strange texture. My kids and I couldn't find anything they liked, and we ended up leaving unhappy. This was our first time here. The menu is large and we were not disappointed with our selection. We had a sushi sampler and shrimp vegetable tempura. The fresh ginger and wasabi added greatly to the sushi. The server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. There is indoor or an attached patio seating area. This is a seriously great restaurant. I recently hosted my Dinner Club here and it was outstanding. I came here 20 years ago with my husband, so I was still amazed how great the food was. All the Dinner guests agreed that this was phenomenal. The Shrimp Tempura, the Tempura Combo, the Teriyaki Chicken, the Rib eye , the salads were all fabulous. Service was terrific. My last review was 10 years ago & we are still loyal customers. We have been coming here for over 17 years. Our kids have grown up loving FITB - mainly because of familiarity perhaps, but it always feels like home to us. The owner's kids, the busser, and the chefs (mainly Jose) know us and we know them. Quality is always satisfying and it makes the 30+ minute drive there worth it. During our last visit we met a group that drove in from San Fernando Valley to eat here. This local spot that is no longer local to us, continues to be a nostalgic space for us. It will always be our favorite. read more

Cute sushi spot over near Chuck E Cheese in Placentia. Never a horribly long wait and the service is good. Lots of different options for rolls and we havent had a roll that we didnt like yet. We came here tonight for my dad's birthday and had a really disappointing experience. Only half of our sodas came out, and we had to ask multiple times for refills -- one Diet Coke refill never came at all. We ordered 10 rolls and waited about 1.5 hours, only for them all to come out at the exact same time. We could see them stacking up at the sushi bar, but nothing was brought to us until every roll was finished. I've never experienced that at a sushi restaurant before. We also had to ask for the bill and boxes, and no one checked on us during the meal. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, especially for a birthday celebration. read more

First of all, five stars go to Eunice, our server (greeter)! We arrived upon lunch opening, got our water and ordered very quickly because our friend had to get on the road. As per usual, our food was outstanding. The three of us ordered tuna ala tostada, stuffed mussels and the stuffed chicken breast. All three were beautifully plated and outstandingly delicious. This is our absolute FAVORITE sushi spot ever!!! We've been coming here for nearly 15 years and it never gets old. The fish is always fresh, rolls & appetizers are delicious and the staff is fantastic. My toddler is such a fan we have to go twice a week sometimes. This is my family's usual place to get sushi rolls. I picked up 4 rolls last evening. The rice in all the rolls was very mushy. I could not taste any rice vinegar in my roll. The 2 Dragon rolls had a watery soy sauce, rather than the thick unagi sauce. The filling inside the roll was more mayonnaise than crab meat. No avocado in the rolls. My daughter who got the Baja roll said her roll was not good. My husband who got the Rainbow roll said his was not that good, either. Don't know if someone is not measuring their ingredients correctly or what. read more

Walked out of this neighborhood restaurant at 6 PM on a weeknight after waiting at the register watching a young man clean up his counter area without acknowledging I was standing in front of him until I waved at him and he said yes it'll be just a minute, if this restaurant does not need my business I can go somewhere else. When I called back to speak with a manager the same young man claimed to be David and said he was the store manager. I liked the Crunch Crunch Roll, but did not care for the sauce on top, which was a bit spicy for me. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki with steamed vegetables and a carrot/ginger rice, which wasn't to my liking. It tasted like soap to me. I would've preferred to have white or brown rice instead. I haven't been here in a while and I would say I was a little disappointed with my meal. We ordered off the sushi menu and tried a variety of items. My general observation is that the quality of the fish is just ok and the preparation needs improvement. I noticed the fish was sliced inconsistently. Some were very thin and some there thicker. I've worked and managed restaurants for years, and as a fan of food in general - I will always pay for QUALITY and this place is far and above every other sushi place I've been to in more than twenty years of looking for "the one" spot I'll keep going back to. Steve was absolutely welcoming and energetic despite us showing near closing. Jose was our chef and even made us a custom (off menu) hand roll that blew us away. The yellow tail sashimi was incredibly soft and fresh. We were informed that their fish comes in fresh daily from the boats not a processing plant and it absolutely shows. Over all I feel like this restaurant is not consistent in the overall taste of their sushi. I was even surprised when their miso soup flavor was a little off. Totally hit or miss for me.
