Amazing food every time I go in there, staff is friendly and the hibachi buffet has fresh veggies and meats so it gets a 10/10 from me.

I would absolutely never recommend this buffet, two days after I had eaten here the restaurant took it upon themselves to add a tip to my card without my authorization. Not sure if they thought I would not notice but I definitely did, and they are refusing to accommodate to a resolution. Edit: day 2 of trying to get a resolution and they will not help me read more

I originally gave it a 3.5 food was good but everytime food taste like its been sitting at room temperature. This was the better one out of the 2 Chinese buffets in Kalamazoo. Then recently I saw a couple people posted pics of roaches they've seen there while eating there. I just can't eat there anymore. Then recently I went to the other Chinese buffet in Kalamazoo I was not impressed either food was old and at room temperature. It was during lunch time I was shocked. First time here. Saturday lunch had a good crowd but not crazy busy like I've seen at dinner from the outside. Great selection of food including the sushi which was really fresh. We had 2 in our four person party leave because one of them had a seafood allergy and subsequently her man stood by her. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but it is a bit better inside. The place is spacious and the seating is not cramped as other buffets that I have been to. The service is good and the waitress was very attentive at removing plates right away. The water refill didn't happen but it's not like we went dry for very long before we left. The food was plentiful but the quality was a bit hit or miss. They don't put out a lot of one thing but probably do so to avoid something sitting out too long. The food was tasty but I've had better buffet food. I am not saying you will not like it but it's just not something I HAVE to come back for. They have some good sushi when they have it stocked. Delicious! All the usual Chinese buffet fare, but lots of it and cooked to perfection.

I came here with my hubby for a lunch date. Walked in and was instantly greeted. The waiter was very nice, quick and attentive. The place was packed with workers CLEANING walls, chairs, tables. Anything people could touch. This was absolutely amazing! Made me feel safe! The food literally looks so delicious, hot and fresh, they do not let ANYTHING go empty. Not one thing was bone dry. They were on top of anything. The waitress didn't leave our drinks go below 1/2 way. It was a great experience. I can't wait to go back. Now the food, omg!!! Just woke, hot, you can definitely tell it's super fresh, and soooo good! The chicken, so crispy, hot and tasty! The lo mein was very good, I love fried rice, the pork rolls I think they are. Come fairly regularly because I have friends that enjoy it. Personally, food is bland and mediocre. Chairs are too low & uncomfortable. Heat is always blasting too hot. Employees always taking plates that are still being eaten off of, rushing us by bringing the bill before all people have even arrived. I have been wanting to this place out for years. I had heard mixed reviews but finally went to test it out. Everyone was friendly when we walked in. Got a table right away and went up to get food. I saw a few servers roaming the dining room, which was much larger than I expected. Also I saw many waitstaff/ cooks replenishing food items. Most of the food was pretty typical of what you'd find in an Asian buffet. The sushi was just eh, only 5 different rolls and none had raw seafood. It was mostly imitation crab. The hibachi was good according to my husband. My son loved the hard ice cream. I don't know why people don't like that! There were about 8 flavors I think and that's great for a buffet! I have been going to HSB for the past two years and it has become a spot for me. All these people leaving terrible reviews probably didn't realize they were going to an Asian style buffet before hand. Yes the waiters have a lot of work to do, the kitchen staff is working hard. Just eat your food and shut up. If you don't like it don't come back, that's fine with us regulars. We'll just have more food for us. Before you leave a terrible review ask yourself if it is a buffet or not. Then ask yourself the level of cleanliness and service you've seen at other buffets, new flash they aren't great anywhere. I was surprised they were allowing self-serve at the buffet. You are required to wear masks and you will be given plastic gloves for when you are picking your food. However, Some of the costumers do not seem to comply with these sanitary rules and the staff did not seem to care. I enjoyed the food varieties but not so much on the quality. They have a small sushi section, hibachi grill, salads, desserts, and an little icecream section. Our waitress was friendly and kept up well with our table. Hibachi Sushi Buffet is really consistent and not a bad place for lunch or dinner. You can always count on them to have egg rolls, spring rolls, sugar donuts, honey chicken, teriyaki chicken, Mongolian beef, and some fresh sushi. The tables are nicely spaced apart, it's never very loud even when it's busy. They have a banquet room for parties, they have a cute little bridge that you walk over to get in and there are goldfish and coins with people's wishes. You can get take out from here too! read more

M'eh. They were pretty busy on my recent lunch visit so obviously this place is a hit with plenty of people. Can't say as I'm one of them, but the hibachi wasn't bad, and the prce is certainly right (under $10 at lunch time). On the plus side, there's tons of variety. There's a huge salad bar, small sushi area (all the rolls on my visit were bland), large dessert area (again, nothing looked appetizing enough to even try a bite of, but there was plenty of it), plus a huge selection of the dishes you'd expect and a couple Americana staples for the kids. I decided vegetarian hibachi was my best bet, and it wasn't bad, but you can get a veggie hibachi lunch down the road at Kumo for a comparable price with radically higher quality food. This is the only Chinese buffet I've been to in the Kalamazoo area, so I don't have anything local to compare it to. (Grand Rapids people, I would rank this above Ming Ten but below Fuji Buffet.) However, I was pleasantly surprised at how cheap it was, the variety, and the great service. The dining area and the restroom were both clean when I was there. The buffet includes everything you'd normally find at a Chinese buffet and a couple things I hadn't seen before (dim sum options like steamed dumplings and whole fried crab, to name a couple). They have a decent selection of sushi including some special rolls. I do wish they had a vat of spicy mayo like Ming Ten because that's one of the best things ever. They didn't have miso soup either, but that's okay. All the food I ate was the correct temperature and everything seemed pretty par for the course in terms of Chinese buffets. This isn't a Michelin star restaurant, and I feel like you know what to expect when you go to a place like this. I don't normally pick Chinese buffets, but I wasn't mad that we went here, either. Our waters were refilled promptly and plates were cleared quickly so they weren't piling up. Dined at Hibachi Sushi Buffet with family at 4405 S Westnedge in Kalamazoo on 12/26. It was the worst experience of my life. The food was mediocre at best, and the men's restroom was disgusting. When entering the bathroom I slipped and fell due to about an inch of feces drenched water that was covering the entire floor. I landed straight on my back hitting my head, twisting my left knee and hip. There was no wet floor sign or any indication that the bathroom had received any attention for some time. I alerted the manager (Magjie??) immediately of the incident and she came to the restroom to take a look, but refused to walk in stating the floor was too disgusting and they were having plumbing problems between the toilet and sink. I told her I wanted to fill out an "incident report" or get their insurance info in case a bodily injury were to come from this and she stated they don't do that and handed me a piece of cardboard to document the incident. After giving her the cardboard stating what happened, I also showed and told her that my cell phone had been cracked when in my pocket due to my fall and I wanted to speak to the owner (Ken?). She said she had no way to contact him at the time but told me that he would. I've been back twice to see if I could speak to him and it's been 4 days and still have heard nothing. My fall, or the damage to my phone should not have even occurred if it weren't for their inexcusable negligence in maintaining a safe and operational restroom. It should not have even been in commission that day! I received no apology, no offer to pay for the cleaning of my clothes, or the repair of my phone. I've had back pain for four days. I just can't believe how unconcerned they were about the whole situation. As we were leaving the manager pulled an employee from the sushi line to attempt at getting the restroom on order, in which he was not wearing gloves. I guess their janitor and sushi chef is the same person. If they can't maintain a safe and clean restaurant it just makes me question what type of sanitary precautions they take with food prep. The manager and everything about the whole situation has been so unprofessional and negligent and I can't believe I still have not been contacted by the owner. Ordinary exterior, but a surprising entrance with a bridge over a pond with real koi and turtles. Staff are friendly and attentive, regularly replenishing the trays. Good selection of dishes, including a decent salad bar. Quality of food varies, mostly good, some dishes are excellent. The price is reasonable, especially since it is all-you-can-eat. My only major complaint is that many dishes have a bit too much salt, but not to the point of being inedible. This is my first trip to Hibachi Sushi Buffet in a long time and all-in-all my impression was favorable. The restaurant was clean, and their COVID-19 precautions were very good; masks until you sit, all staff wearing masks, and plastic gloves distributed so you can dish out food without directly touching the handles. The food was rather typical Chinese buffet, nothing exceptional, and like any buffet you need shy away from the food that has been obviously sitting there too long, dried out and overcooked. The restaurant decor reflects the money they charge, combined with the volume of people it serves. The turtle pool is fine and is an added touch, the restaurant never looks dirty or dingy, and I've never seen bugs here. This Buffett is fully stocked when it comes to Asian and American cuisine. From Crab Rangoon, stir-fry, General Tso's, and sushi. To Mac and cheese, fried chicken, and frog legs. The desert bar is fully stocked too. The only thing that's really missing which I think is scary are allergy warning labels. Then the fact that there was no one to ask either. When we tried to ask we'd always get they don't know, they don't understand, or they can't say. Which I'm very sure is not true. So I was limited with what I could eat because my friends could only taste test so much of it and I was already too on edge to actually eat. Sadly the quality has dropped so much in 5 years that I no longer will be going back. Nothing tastes like it used to anymore. They've cheapened everything up. Good variety of food, quality isn't the best but it's decent. Fish is always dry and over cooked and my last visit was undercooked and raw. Ice cream is sometimes old and gummy. My fav dish they have is peanut chicken -breaded chicken in a PB sauce. Sadly, it's always out or there are a few old pieces floating in a sauce that is so old it's broken (oiled).
