The man had always raved about the Hiccups he goes to, to meet up with friends for drinks and bites. When he heard about this location opened up near us, he wanted me to try it out. Located in a newly built luxury complex. There was a slight line as we entered. Pretty busy afternoon for them. We ordered: BBQ Pork/ rice+salad: Pork is thinly sliced. Good flavoring. I enjoyed it. Garlic Noodles/ Skanked Beef: Fliet Mignon. This was a really good dish. I found myself picking off of the man's plate more so than usual. He was okay with that. haha. I came here during lunch break and I was lucky to get here right during rush hour because danggg can there be a really long line! Anyways, one of their famous dishes is the garlic noodles with shaken beef. I ordered that to go since the place can be a bit small during peak hours. The garlic noodles were good and had the right texture to it (not too firm or too soggy). The shaken beef with the onions were flavorful however I just didn't like how everything was very oily. My stomach didn't sit as well with it after I finished the plate. Overall, food is decent and customer service is decent. They accept credit cards. You're better off with street parking. read more

I ate here recently with a co worker, their prices are way too high. We got rice, egg, popcorn chicken (which is made with dark meat = cheaper) Came out to $15 per person. Rice and 1 egg costs nothing to be honest, maybe a dollar. Their portion size is okay for the price, but there are much better places for the price to food ratio. On a whim, my husband brought home the Pork Belly Kimchi Fried Rice from this restaurant and although we were pleased with the large portion size (to make up for the hefty price tag of $14), we opened it and these two Koreans were flummoxed at this Korean dish. Where was all the kimchi in this kimchi fried rice? And... why in the world did it look like the kimchi we did get were RINSED before cooking? And the pork belly? All the pieces were mostly unrendered fat that bounced against our teeth. Not in the mood for salmonella tonight so fished those all out... The dish was overall pale and even the texture of the rice was off. The grains didn't have those smoked edges or slightly stick together the way this dish properly should. If you blew it, it sort of fluttered away and was closer in texture to arroz rojo. The not-caramelized kimchi and the undercooked pork belly are tell-tale signs that they weren't cooked separately in different stages. My gosh, I can't believe they messed up this dish because this is what every Korean mom makes when she's being lazy and has leftover rice and kimchi. And you've got pork and still messed this up? Ludicrous. Absolutely no clue how to make this dish... Here, I'll teach them if they see this: Crisp up the pork belly first, throw the kimchi into the rendered pork fat until caramelized (and for the love of God don't EVER rinse the kimchi), lob in a spoon of gochujang and maybe some of the juice the kimchi is sitting in and toss in the rice and keep cooking until the rice starts to stick to the pan making those lovely crispy bits, the best part. Finish with a light drizzle of sesame oil and a sunny side up egg. Alright, so I looked this place up thinking it must be our fault. We must have ordered the one-off Asian dish at some Americanized fusion place. Imagine my surprise when I search this place and it comes up as "Vietnamese and Thai." I am so confused. Why did this fully Korean dish come out of a Vietnamese/Thai kitchen? I study their menu: it has Pho (Vietnamese), Pad Thai (Thai), Kung-pao (Chinese), Kimchi fried rice and bulgogi rice (Korean)... All in one restaurant. This is even more upsetting. This place has an identity crisis or thinks that Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, and Korean food are all the same thing. Imagine their stock room which if done right, should stock the basic spices and ingredients of no less than 4 distinct cuisines. This is a Kitchen Nightmare episode waiting to happen. I love hiccups beef bulgogi and was craving it so I placed an online order for beef bulgogi with fried rice and a fruity booty slush. Well I get home and the usual bulgogi that I've grown to love looks like beef with broccoli! There's none of the normal onions or mushrooms literally beef and broccoli. I've ordered this dish multiple times and not once has it ever come with broccoli. From either location, Carson or South Gate. Giving 2 stars only because the slush was correct and the same as usual but I'm totally disappointed about the bulgogi. I know there's a lot going on in the world but if establishments can't keep up the quality of their dishes they need to remove it temporarily from the menu. read more

It tastes perfect, not too sweet, right amount of sour and totally worth it. I got my free Taro Smoothie from checking in and had additional whipped cream and boba pearls. The pearls are not as sweet as I want them to be but the taro smoothie itself is amazing. In our last two visits we had: * Tom Kah seafood soup: It's a lemongrass and coconut cream based soup with tofu, mushrooms, tomato and seafood. The taste is heavenly though it would be nice to have more seafood in it. * Orange Chicken with rice: this was so bomb my husband had to have it the next time we went. The orange chicken had the perfect crispness to it, you can tell it's freshly cooked. * Kimchi Rice: the serving was huge! I think it's good for sharing. Make sure you have the egg, kimchi, rice, crispy shallots and pork belly in one bite for that perfect party in your mouth! The food servings are hefty and full of flavor. I ordered $160 worth of food and the quality was unacceptable. Particularly the rice, it was stale & dry. Leslie, who was on duty at the time told me that the rice had been made first of 13 items & was sitting under a heat lamp. Leslie then called me back and told me that the food quality was bad because Uber was delayed picking up the food, which does not make sense! The problem was the food being under the heat lamp and drying out. Even if Uber was late, had the box been sealed and placed in the bag, the rice would have sweated and been moist, not dry, crunchy & stale. The customer service of this place has really declined since opening years back, as well as the taste of the food. I will definitely not be returning to this location, as customer satisfaction is not a priority to them. I definitely excepted more, especially after spending $160! Not to mention Leslie told me that all she could do was remake the order, then she called back to tell me that they are not willing to even do that!! I'd say I wouldn't be returning, but this is actually the most decent boba spot in Carson. The service just seriously sucks, they're always forgetting things, and tonight has just been the worst. My sister and I were in Long Beach getting some errands done when some family members said they wanted boba and some fried rice. Nothing else was open or on the way home so we decided to order ahead online. The app said our order was received at 936pm and our order should be ready at 1006pm. So we decided to drive from Long Beach to the Ralph's next door to get some grocery shopping done. By the time we parked for hiccups, it was 1005 and I went to check in at the pick up spot. My food was ready and the employee said they just had to make the drinks really quick, but he handed me the food I ordered with a ticket that said my orders been ready since 1001. Cool, I don't mind waiting for fresh drinks. So I'm standing there waiting, and after seeing at least 8 drink orders get called and at least 15 minutes pass by, I go with my receipt and ask them what's going on and an employee took it to discuss it with the others. They clearly forgot about it and he comes back and says "there were just a bunch of others before you" then what's the point of ordering ahead? Vietnamese Coffee - Pretty decent, tastes how you would expect it to taste. Hits the spot if you're craving it. Garlic Noodles - Tasted okay. Was garlicky but not as much as I thought. Could've been more flavorful, started to get a little bland towards the end. Portion was pretty large. I would add a protein next time as it was pretty much a giant plate of noodles and carrots. Popcorn chicken - Pretty battered and crispy, not as flavorful as I would like. Comes with some chili powder you can add on top. Also dipping sauces (ranch, sweet and sour) which isn't too typical of the boba shop popcorn chicken I'm used to back in 626. The chicken itself is usually pretty flavorful on its own without sauces. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised with how good this place was. I had heard about this place but never actually stopped by, so decided to come try it out for a quick lunch. There is free parking in a lot behind or adjacent to the restaurant, and along the street directly in front! The restaurant itself is hip and best described as a nice place to grab a bite with friends or even just stop by for unique drinks / dessert. It was our first time there and we must have arrived at the right time because the line was relatively short. Once it hit 12:30pm, the line was out the door! One customer already eating stopped us and suggested we order the popcorn chicken, garlic noodles with steak, and their array of boba/ lychee jelly tea drinks. The popcorn chicken (spicy) was delicious and surprisingly not too spicy. I usually go mild so it had a little more of a kick than mild, yet not over powering where you aren't enjoying your meal. The garlic noodles with steak had a generous portion of beef that was tender and FULL of flavor! The noodles come with Parmesan cheese on top, which deterred me at first but surprisingly paired well together. Don't be afraid to ask for it on the side first if you want to manage how much tops your dish. The drinks were delicious! My boyfriend got the Thai milk tea with boba and it was flavorful and not too sweet like some other places. The boba was also chewy and fresh! I got the tropical tease with the lychee coconut jelly. I usually get boba but it came with the lychee jelly so I gave it a try, it was delicious! The drink was on the sweeter side, but once it was watered down a bit from the ice, it was refreshing. One perk is that they partner with he Churroholic dessert store beside them that they were walking around with samples while you enjoyed your meal! It's honestly a great marketing strategy since it made me want to go try the dessert churros, but since we had our boba drinks we decided to try it another time. The employees were quick and very friendly. I like that it's a more casual environment than a sit down restaurant but you still have the great service. I asked for shrimp pho soup. She asked, "Soul food?" I said no and spelled p-h-o. She asked, "What was that again?" I spelled it one more time. She put me on hold with an attitude. I waited nearly 5 minutes, hung up, and ordered elsewhere. So...whomever the dingbat was working around 9:30pm and answering the phone last night, please tell her to KNOW THE MENU!!! I was speaking very clearly and shouldn't have to spell out an item for her to process it then leave me on hold instead of asking someone else. Duhhhh! Given the overall review ratings, I wish eateries like this would stop bidding to set up shop in this community to start off great (perhaps), then reduce yourselves to subpar food, service, and overpriced menus. Residents in this city waited long enough for decent food options. A couple of new places have already closed down or changed ownership, including the one across from you.
