The push light at your table is for getting service. As my friends and I are morons, we were mystified over its purpose for awhile. It was everyone's first time there and the thing was just sitting on the table without explanation. Hopefully I have saved someone from reliving our trauma. Knowledge is power! The hookah was good. Tried four different flavors, all smooth, none of them bad, and I'll definitely be smoking the Mystic Melon again sometime. It was actually one of the several 'signature flavors' on the menu, so my money's on the rest of those being safe options as well. Got there five minutes to the end of happy hour (6-8) on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded at all. The seating could be better; you run a small risk of having to sit in a chair rather than on a sofa. I suppose that's not a problem if you're anti-slouching, but personally I think that makes you a freak. Service was good. Nice. Attentive. Smiley. Had a little hiccup when they forgot about our drinks, but when we spoke up they apologized and it was promptly amended. Cheap menu too, it's worth a glance. The great atmosphere makes me feel a little guilty for not giving this place four stars, but the prospect of sitting miserable in a chair for a session is too daunting to ignore. If something particularly nice comes up (e.g., the inexpensive food turns out to be inversely delicious, an employee turns out to be a good lay [/joke]) I might have the heart to give it an upgrade. read more

To sum it up: chill. Although I do not approve nor promote smoking, this kick back spot is pretty relaxing. This is the type of place where you can avoid the club-annoying-teeny boppin-wannabes on a Friday night. Mr. Stark and I went here with our favorite muslim, "The Cow", a couple of times and it has been a pretty chill experience. We met the owner and he always suggest his best stuff ever. So Stark-man and The Cow both hit the hookah as I chill back and enjoy the music and have a decent conversation with the two. Okay, more like venting, but still, the music is just the right volume that you can still enjoy it as well as keeping your conversation private. My friends and I were in Anaheim and were in the mood for some hookah so we yelped the closest lounge and ended up here. It was literally a "hidden cafe" because it was in the corner of the plaza. I thought that was cute. We got there at happy hour so it was really cheap! Sorry, I forgot the price. This Hidden is smaller than the one located in Anaheim Hills. It took a while for my hookah to come out but I'm not really complaining. The coal changing on the other hand was kinda slow and they weren't too attentive.. I like the music, EDM. There are tv's located on pretty much every wall. It's a chill spot. I wouldn't really go again though just because I do prefer the Anaheim Hills one. read more

Great place to go and watch UFC, however it is God-awful crowded. The hookahs aren't tended too very well, but if you ask them they take care of it. (maybe that is because it is so crowded) I like a more laid back area to smoke but if this is your thing to have a more club-like (maybe that is not the best use of the word club) atmosphere. Then this place is great for you. The workers are pretty cool, and the people and atmosphere is pretty good. Food is alright, but their smoothies I found to be AMAZING!!! If going for a UFC I give it 4 stars but the crowdedness and how they try to get you to leave after a while (we were only there for like 2 hours and we were asked to buy another hookah because there was a time limit I guess because of the amount of people there) kind of made me give it a 3 star rating. read more

The food is very good, and inexpensive. I would give the place more like 4 stars because the service is slow, it takes a while sometimes to get someone at your table, especially when busy. But, the ambience is awesome! There are large TV's around the place, play mostly hip-hop/middle eastern mixes....love the music! I have gone on several dates here, and my dates have loved this place. Being a veteran Hookah-er, there is nothing I enjoy more than a good evening full of cloudy smoke and intense conversation over a bowl of hot coals and flavored tobacco. My friends and I spent most of our summer doing this and as a result, we spent a lot of money on hookah supplies and also depleted our lung capacity by 10%. Well one day we just got sick of having to prepare our own bowl and clean our own hookah so we decided to try Hidden Cafe, a well known hookah bar. My first thoughts on Hidden when we arrived were that this looked like a perfect place for smoking hookah; it was dark, the place was full of comfy cushions, there was music playing AND there were TVs! I was so excited. After the guy at the door checked our IDs (kind of embarrassing because we're all 21+), we got seated immediately and started looking over the list of hookah flavors. For those of you who are not aware, at Hidden it is required for every 2 people in your group to have a hookah each, so if you've got 4 people you've got to get 2 hookahs. This wasn't that bad since we all hated waiting for each person to take their hits and pass it on, so we settled on a Blue Mist Tangerine (a mix) and a Gummy Bear. The hookah arrived right away and we immediately started smoking. The Blue Mist/tangerine was disappointing, especially because it sounded so delicious. The Gummy Bear was alright, but honestly I've smoked better tasting hookah in my friends garage (right now we have Tequila Sunrise, so delicious!) Anyways, despite the weird taste of the hookahs, we enjoyed our time anyways, until the hookahs started to get really harsh. They load the bowl with coals so it burns a lot faster and stronger so after about 15 minutes I couldn't even take it anymore. My throat was burning, plus the place was smokey all around so I started getting light headed. My friend and I actually had to step outside for awhile because our heads were spinning from the lack of ventilation in the cafe. Overall, the price of the hookahs came out to about $10-$12 each, which isn't too bad but I'd much rather hookah with my friend's pipe because it doesn't make me want to cough out my lungs. The service was great though, so I've got to give Hidden a little credit; it's just not my taste. 2 stars. read more

I've been to a few hookah lounges and its safe to say that hidden cafe is by far the best one I've been to. With that being said, here's why! -Everything is well maintained. There's burn holes on booth chairs, but isn't that only expected from a hookah lounge? -Nothing beats happy hour! From 6-8pm, come in for some half off hookah. -I love the relaxing environment that this place gives off. Music's always bumping with tracks that I like. -Workers are chill. They get us everything we'll need as soon as we let them know and coal refills are always coming around without me having to keep requesting it to be changed. Service is great! -The food menu is cheap. -Movie nights on Sunday and Tuesday! Movie+hookah=relaxing night -Parking is great. There's plenty of spots to choose from. My friend and I went here for a quick hookah and a snack. The hummus here is the worst hummus I have ever had in my life. It tastes like a 2 year old made it and it's really hard to make bad hummus. There really isn't much else to do in Yorba Linda so this place isn't terrible. I went with my brother because we were waiting on a movie to start across the street. The Hookah itself was good. The service sucked pretty bad. The guy working the door with the Mohawk wasn't very friendly. He flirted with every girl who walked in that looked like they just graduated high school and wouldn't give us the time of day. Even when we went to pay he basically ignored us while he was hitting on two young girls. Overall its a typical hookah bar. Hidden Cafe is like my second home. I am always greeted by David and Felipe. They make me feel like family. The hookah is always on point. I have been to many hookah lounges around the world but none has made me feel like family until I stumbled into Hidden Cafe. I recommend geisha pawn mint mix. It is absolutely refreshing. My hookah cherry has been popped! It was a great experience and the staff were friendly, patient and welcoming. It was dark, inside but the flat screens showing music videos was illumination enough. It was also really well ventilated...I couldn't smell anything from the table next to us that had 3 hookahs going at once. I really liked the fact that they put the little light on the table for service, that way you are only bothered when you actually want/need something. All in all, I would definitely go again if I were to ever find myself in Disney-hell and needed a chill-out spot to get away from all the commercialism. read more

I've been going to Hidden for years. I love this place for hookah. I used to go to this location before it burnt down. And after it burned down we would go to the one in Anaheim Hills, now I'm back to Brookhurst. This is by far the coolest and cleanest hookah bar that I have been to in OC. The decor is fabulous, they have nice flat screens here and there, and I enjoy consuming their cheese sandwich. mmm, it's delicious. Iced Hookah here is the best and they use Starbuzz tobacco which is also sabroso. Oh yeah, white peach tobacco fo' life! It's a little on the pricey side for hookah, but I would much rather spend the extra money for iced hookah and the chill environment. The furniture set up is nice and the couches are pretty comfy. Service is always pretty good. The charcoal boys are always walking around replacing old charcoal and taking orders. And they're also pretty good about replacing hoses if you encounter issues. What a deal... What a steal! With the $20 for $30 worth of Hidden Cafe, we both got the $14.99 special/combo with one free refill, a sandwich, pita bread with hummus, and a pot of black tea with mint. Everything came out to be only ~$28, so we pretty much just got everything for only $20. Although I've only been to three hookah places, this one is my favorite! The prices here are reasonably, the ambiance is very chill, the hookahs are clean, the flavors are fantastic, and the food is cheap! Hookah: We got the white peach with mint (exotic flavors) was sweet with a hint of refreshing mint. I highly recommend trying this mix. For our refill we got a their "My Little Pony" which was a bit sweeter than the white peach, but still had a similar taste. Both flavors/aromas were satisfying to my liking. Food: As mentioned above, the food and appetizers are dirt cheap. That being said, do not expect too much. I liked that the pita bread was warm, but I have had better hummus from a supermarket. The Sojok sandwich was a bit dry, but I liked the Middle Eastern spice it had. It wasn't as big as I hoped, but for only $4.50, I can't complain. When we opened the sandwich, we literally laughed for one whole minute. We probably had less than a sausage because it was sliced, not down the middle, top into its circular shape; and it was so thin... The sausage bits were scattered between the two bread. Luckily the flavor was strong enough. The side of chips that came with the sandwich was just regular nacho cheese Doritos. I was actually very excited for the chips when I saw it on the menu... But I was greatly disappointed when I saw that it was just... Doritos.. my least favorite of all chips. At least serve potato chips next time please? Ambiance: We came on a Friday night around 9pm. The selection of music started off "traditional,"-- typical hookah music that you'd find at Middle Eastern cafes. By 11PM, they started playing more of the mainstream music which was nice. Service: I liked how the servers were very chill -- but a little bit too chill. We had to ask for new coals twice, but I'd give it to them since they seemed to be working pretty hard and made attempts to help us enjoy ourselves. Overall: I definitely liked the place, and would come back here for the hookah and relaxing environment, but not so much for the food unless I got another one of the Yelp deals. I've been coming here for a while because its close to home and has cool atmosphere usually. Always have games on and staff is pretty chill. The hooka itself is fairly terrible though. Always burns too fast and has to be cleared constantly, the coals suck so somebody has come by every 5-10 min with new ones, and it's real tough get a smooth draw with thick smoke. Really wish they'd improve the quality I'd be back alot more often. Update: been coming back more lately and noticed the Hooka quality has improved alot! Coals are still so so but the flavor and consistency have really improved Update 2: so been in a lot more as of late (earned the distinction of Duke recently), was really digging the spot as cool place relax and unwind couple times week. They have happy hr from 6-8. Rolled in tonight about 7:45 just in time for happy hr to finish up. Get my Hooka and chilling for about 30min and guy asks if I want a refill which I get since I got it during happy hr but told him I was good. 20 min later guy comes by again and tells me I have to get a refill or they will take my Hooka away! I look at the guy and ask him if he's serious since I've only been there for an hr and I come all the time, to which he replies sorry...wtf. I get the idea of not wanting people to camp all night on a half off Hooka but this is bs. Go to pay and the owner/manager guy says he feels bad and offers me a free water to make up for it. I don't want the damn water I just wanted chill smoke my Hooka. Your go to hookah lounge. They're opened up till 4am! This place is really cool and chill to just sit back and chit chat with your girlfriends. They have different kinds of flavors, but the one that my friends and I usually get is the white gummy with safari. Ask for the funnel head. They have food if you're hungry plus you're gonna be there for a while if you're hookah-ing! So enjoy the food. Their chicken noodle soup is very good. Service is nice. This is by far the best hookah places in southern CA. I've been to many hookah lounges throughout LA and the OC as I really do enjoy smoking after a long day at work or before going out on a Fri/Sat night. Aside from the excellent service and the ease of getting new coals, the atmosphere is one that sets it apart from other places. I believe in smoking in peace and I'm not into the club-atmosphere that other places attempt to create with loud music and youngsters far too dressed for a hookah lounge. You can sit back and enjoy without being bothered by the people around you. I would recommend coming early for happy hour (6-8pm...where else can you smoke for a mere $5?). The food selection favorite is the chicken sandwich for $4. Refills are only $5 and they will provide mouthpieces for those disinclined to share saliva. They will even start your hookah for you and get the thick smoke going and will also help fix the hose or add water to your preference. In addition, the music is good (a mix of techno and hip hop) and they play sporting events, big fights, and even Family Guy on Sunday nights. Tuesday nights are movie nights (around 7pm) and if you recommend a movie to Abood and Mario, the local DVD store is right next door. If you decide to try it out, you won't be disappointed. I would like to give 4 stars but it started out harsh (this is because they give you way too many coals, just remove one and you will be fine). This was my first visit to a hookah cafe. For a first time and reading other reviews here this place was chill as f-ck! We came here on a sat night, not knowing what to expect. As soon as you walk in the warm sweet aroma invites welcomes you. The workers were very chill. I ask the workers to recommend a flavor which I think was mix fruit, it was sweet. After that we ordered food. We had the chicken quesadilla, strawberry shake, hummus, and mango juice, and a strawberry cheese cake. The drinks and the cheese cake were delish! We didn't like the food as much. But the hookah was yummy. After that we ordered a gummy bear flavor, my fave! I will def go back!
