We did not hold back when ordering for our visit. When we first arrived, the store was not too crowded, but an hour later, every seat in the store was filled. The store is decked out in corgi decor too, which was super cute and we couldn't stop talking about it. Thai Special Milk Tea - Very light thai milk tea. It didn't feel heavy, so I was just sipping away during dinner Pork, Shrimp, and Chives Dumplings - Very light in flavor, we abused the sauce for this. But I like that it's light so you can make it as salty as you want. Deep Fried Scallion Pancake - Very crispy and highly recommend. It also comes with a dipping sauce for you to adjust the saltiness. It was a nice contrast to the other savory foods. Spicy Garlic Beans - These were actually seasoned very well and I enjoyed snacking on them throughout the meal. Garlic Noodles - This one was probably the most controversial dish for me. Why is it called garlic noodles when there's not a single piece of garlic in it? The parking lot is on the larger size, but I guess since there's a lot of businesses in this plaza (such as a gym), it is really busy and can be hard to find parking. I had to park all the way at Goodwill but at least it's all free, unlimited parking. Walking in, the restaurant has a very nice aesthetic and is brightly decorated. The location is on the smaller side, with a couple tables and only one big table in the back for a larger party. The tables are standard metal chairs with backing, can be uncomfortable to sit after awhile. Due to the open kitchen concept where you can watch the chefs hand make dumplings and wontons, it is very loud inside with the kitchen vent and cooking. They do play some pop music too, but not as loud compared to all the cooking noises. The service was standard, attentive and nice, quick to check in on me throughout the meal. I ordered the Pork Xiao Long Bao (8). The positive is it came hot and freshly steamed. The negatives are the container they came in was too small, the Baos were all touching and stuck together which made it so when you grabbed one, it would tear open either itself or the one it was touching so all the soup spilled out. Also, the flavor inside was a bit too salty for my taste. Overall, I'd give it a 2/5. I also ordered Spicy Garlic Green Bean and it was indeed spicy and very flavorful. The Green Beans were still crunchy, though I prefer them to be a bit charred. For my personal taste, I'd give a 4/5. The service was quick and checked in on me. I give the customer service 4/5. Went to Hidden Dumpling to celebrate my birthday with a fellow Cancer, and boy, did we find a hidden gem! I've never realized this place was right here. As soon as I walked in, I was surprised by the small space. We braved 100+ degree weather to get here, and I don't think they have central AC because there were AC units on the wall. It gets hot in this small space with the kitchen right in the middle. But don't let that stop you from coming. The service was amazing, and the place was packed! It was my first time having a boba drink, so I tried the mango ice blend, and omgggg! That drink was soooooo delish. I instantly forgot about how warm it felt inside--it was that good. We started with some appetizers: cheese wontons and pot stickers. Everything was hot and fresh. There were four of us, but we ordered the 2 of the dinner combos. There was so much food! We even had leftovers to take home. This place is definitely authentic, and you get great value for your money. Despite the heat, I'd say Hidden Dumpling is a cool spot. In a nutshell; Does seem a bit pricier than other similar themed places but the service and food are really good. Have been to this place twice , one a few years back and one just recently and I'd say they're still as good if not better than I remember. There's a lot of parking as it is situated in a lot with other businesses so there's parking around even in busy hours. It may be difficult to get a big party in the establishment as the most they have are 4 people tables and the place isn't all that big but I'm sure they will work and accommodate as best they can. Servers are great and kind. Food didn't take long at all. At the time there were drawings on the wall, maybe they had an event involving an art program with children or what not which gave a bit of a home-y feel to the place. Heard a lot of good things about this place so I ordered takeout. Ordered garlic eggplant, chicken pan fried noodles and pork shrimp chive dumplings. When I got home, to my surprise I got some type of pepper beef instead of the garlic eggplant I ordered. I called to inform them of their error. They told me I could return to pick up my correct order but I live 45 min away so they told me they will place my name down to get a free garlic eggplant on my next visit. The pork shrimp chive dumplings had very little shrimp (if any at all). I did not see any shrimp when I bit them in half to look nor did I taste any shrimp in my dumplings. At other places which have a similar dumplings, there was a small piece of shrimp in every dumpling. Though I did not order the beef, it had good flavor. The pan fried noodles were basic and I didn't like they used cabbage as a filler veggie. Prices are also $1-2 more than what is listed on their website for their takeout menu which is misleading. read more

Parking here is shared by a lot of other tenants in a shopping center. The inside seemed clean but it's tiny. Food portions were decent- a few of the dishes we ordered were way too oily- I mean drowning in oil where you'd see a layer of it on the dish.. The food was decent, but I probably wouldn't go back. There's so many Asian style restaurants in Elk Grove and because it didn't seem too healthy to eat there, I'd recommend trying it and see what you think. It's a popular spot. The pan fried boa was a little dry but the presentation was good, and you can tell they did actually pan fried it, not like Journey To The dumpling which was like a tiny boa stuffed inside a small muffin tin and fried till the bottom was crispy. I will recommend this place and I will go back again because there's a few other dishes that I would like to try too. By the way, I just wish they offer the Chow Nin Gow and Shanghai thick noodle stir fry, those were typical Shanghai dishes in any dumpling places in China, but I noticed the people who operate this place were Cantonese and not Shanghainese, maybe that's the reason why. read more

Other chicken dumpling things were meh, and they lwk forgot our fried rice but they brought it later eventually and it wasnt bad. Portions for the dishes were pretty decent. Scallion pancake was a bit disappointing, much thinner than i expected and not much scallions/green onions, but it was def crunchy. First time in and we drove all the way from El Dorado Hills. I didn't expect it to be a haul, but it was worth the drive. When we ordered, we got right down to business and obviously ordered for a family of five when it was just the three of us. The service was excellent, the staff was very friendly and the food came out so fast! It was a nice size restaurant and I could see this place being really busy during lunch or weekends hours. The parking lot is always full. The restaurant was clean, brightly lit and there were plenty of seating on a Thursday night after rush hour. Such a treat to find a new chinese restaurant in town! We ordered the deluxe chow mien, pork/shrimp/chive dumplings, and the spicy garlic green beans. I loved the green beans, it's well balanced in the garlic and onion and chilis. The dumplings had a good ratio of filling to peel. A small nit is I would've expected this to be served with vinegar but instead it was served with soy sauce which seemed strange and in my opinion, does not complement the dish as well. The chow mien had a good texture. Given it's a "deluxe" dish, I would've expected slightly more protein. As you can see in the image, it lacked volume of the pork, chicken, and shrimp compared to how much noodle you get. Let me start by saying this is the cutest little dumpling house. It's definitely small inside and not a lot of seating. I don't think you could seat more than four people in a party comfortably. Maybe if they combined tables but they're only located along the wall. However the environment was cozy and the start were welcoming. My only complaint is I would've liked more walnuts but that doesn't change my rating. 2/5 stars: Chicken & Cilantro dumpling. This rating is solely based off my palette. I just felt like there was an overpowering flavor that I couldn't quite pinpoint but it didn't taste like chicken or cilantro to me. It wasn't my favorite, but when I mixed their dipping sauce with some of their spicy sauce they have at the table then it was edible, just not my style. There is limited seating with the kitchen taking up more than half of the space. However, the portion sizes are large at a decent price point! We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, mapo tofu and vegetable dumplings. The honey walnut shrimp had a great crispy exterior and we liked the caramelized walnuts. It's spotlessly clean, has friendly staff and is decorated in a cool unique way, with cute children's coloring on the walls that give a trendy and family feel. The food was absolutely delicious.
