I love shopping here. I have spent thousands of dollars here and probably go about once a week. It is much better to shop in than other thrift stores and I hate to classify it as one. However, It is a good place to start if you are not used to shopping at thrift stores and dont know what is cool and what is just bad thrift store shopping. I am in love with Topanga Canyon! The drive along PCH was almost horrendous - due to the weather being what is was this past weekend. I love this store! It's not the biggest vintage store with the widest selection of stuff, but it does have it's gems. I found this 1950's dress that was so perfect - too bad my ribs were in the way and I couldn't get it to zip up. BUT - nonetheless, it was still fun digging and trying things on. Hidden treasures is a really cool place with the most random/awesome things anybody could find. I describe it as a "horde house" but everything is for sale lol. All the employees were very nice and I could tell they obviously love their job so I'm assuming management is good as well. I took my girlfriend here on the way up to paradise cove for a date and she loved it. Everything is reasonably priced and not cheaply made. I visited during the fall so it was all Halloween stuff however they change the theme by the seasons. I recommend to anybody who likes antiques or just likes visiting cool shops. read more

VERY SKETCHY buying method...I brought in a LOT of good clothing, all on hangers, except for a very few. All my clothing was taken behind a curtain, where I could not see the selection process. In just a few minutes I was told I would be given $45 (later she said $40 -the girl who initially took my clothes). She then brought out a HUGE pile of my clothes they refused --all dumped together resulting in wrinkles, when I delivered them neatly on hangers NOT COOL! -many of the shirts were freshly ironed). The girl just heaped them in my car --insuting! They were flat and orderly when I brought them in. Back in the store I asked to see what was taken and she waved a pile of clothes in front of me and quickly turned back to the hidden place--so I could not count nor see exactly what was purchased by the buyer. I later was suspicious because it appeared that much more was taken than what she showed me, considering the amount returned to me. Before I got the the measly $40 I was told to sign a blank piece of paper!! What for? As I received no itemized list/ receipt of what was bought. What are they going to do with that blank paper with my signature on it? Some fancy accounting? In other shops where I have sold, all the buying was done in the open and in front of me so I knew EXACTLY what was being purchased and could say yea or nay to what they wanted for a particular price. Here they just help themselves then give you the smallest amount possible, and since you can't see what they take there is no ability to negotiate at all. I think the Better Business Bureau would like to know about their HIDDEN buying method...plus I bet the State Board of Equalization would like to look at their very odd book keeping practice..no receipt for me--just my signature on a blank piece of paper, which they keep....very sketchy as I said....bottom line: NEVER will I sell here AGAIN! read more

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! I love these kinda shops that are built into old houses and just seem to go on forever, room after room. It's like a thrift shop and a costume shop in one with that little flavor of grandpa's house thrown in. It gave my boyfriend and I a very "Mystery Shack" vibe (from the cartoon Gravity Falls on Disney that we both love). An excellent tourist spot for kodak moments and bargain hunting. I love vintage stores and looking through racks of the most random stuff but this place is strictly vintage meaning there is nothing in there from the past 10 years. Most of the stuff has tags saying which era its from most of which said 1940s,1950s, or 1960s. As far as most of the stuff i saw i did not spot any designer clothing or accessories besides seeing a Betsey Johnson tshirt. They did have a nice selection of denim shorts but limited selection of shoes. They had a lot of cashmere sweaters in one of the back rooms and had a treasure chest full of scarves! The pricing is ok on most of the stuff that i looked at, but again they did not have anything designer. There isnt much assistance but it was ok because for the most part you are just looking through racks of clothes. The parking is very limited with just 3 spots out front. read more

Every once in a while, when I want to avoid the freeways or when I just feel like being surrounded in nature I take Topanga Canyon to get to Malibu and Santa Monica. The area is amazing and the local stores look inviting and fun, but having to concentrate on the curves of the road can prevent one from seeing everything, which is why I never noticed this gem of a thrift store that is truly, a hidden treasure. So thank you fellow Yelpers for drawing my attention to this magical store. Everything in the design of the place is full of imagination. From the exterior with the glittery rainbow colored sign to the pirate helming the big wheel steering the house the store is located in, the mermaid lounging on a ship to the giant dinosaur strolling on the top balcony sign, your imagination is nourished in the most fun way. The layout of the different rooms with more surprises everywhere gave me the feeling that in any moment now I will stumble upon that secret entryway to another dimension. Perhaps I read too many Harry Potter books too many times... They have clothes from many periods in many different styles, nice varied selection, from shirts, dresses, hats, jewelry and even costumes. Their prices are very reasonable. If you're looking for dirt chip finds, go to the big treasure trunk outside, dig in and fish out items for a dollar or two. Mortified!!! Spending an afternoon in Topanga Canyon with my sister or friends is an awesome way to spend an afternoon. We've visited Hidden Treasures many times over the years. Imagine my surprise when we entered this store on Saturday afternoon to be greeted by the girl behind the counter directing my sister to leave her bag (purse) at the counter! Are you kidding me? She didn't ask me. Didn't ask the woman that entered in front of us. Entire store turned and looked at us. We were being accused of stealing before we'd even walked in the store? Why would anyone hand over their purse to a complete stranger? What assurance do I have that you wouldn't steal from me? This sends such a sad message. Crossing this store off my list,. This place is spectacular. You know you are there because you have driven really far through a winding canyon and suddenly there is a magical house with a giant giraffe standing next to it and a treasure chest full of dilapidated vintage clothes all for $1. Also there are Boston Terriers and an old woman dressed like a mermaid (with pearls and rhinestones in her silver hair) reposing in the shade next to a hand pieced quilt. They used to have wardrobe that was full of realllllly old vintage dresses, like Victorian and Edwardian, and I still have a dress circa 1910 that I got out of that wardrobe for $10. I also bought some Victorian stockings there; they were emerald green and shattered as soon I was wore them. read more

My husband and I just happened to drive by and I made him turn around because the decor was really intriguing. You could really spend a lot of time there, just wandering around. There is a ton of vintage stuff, many awesome sweaters and purses reminded my of my grandma's classic style. Their prices are reasonable; my husband got a hat there, then looked it up online and found that Hidden Treasures charged less than he would have paid anywhere else! I love this place so much, I would drive from Santa Monica just to go here! The service is wonderful, I never felt rushed, the girls behind the counter were beyond helpful, and didn't crowd me either! I love this place. It has everything, and doesn't just limit itself to clothes. It's almost October so a lot of it was costume stuff, but definitely take your time in this place. Look at the bargain bin in the front (everything only $1.75 !), the back rooms, and ask around if you don't see something, they have a lot of great stuff hidden around! I love the mix of vintage and current. They have a lot of great stuff and reasonably priced, you just have to look. I would definitely come back - I've told everyone about it so far! My only negative is parking is really difficult, with only like 3 spaces. This is so awesome, I would overlook it though! read more

One of my old favorites that has thankfully survived, in the heart of Topanga Canyon on the way to the beach, amongst the general store and another old gem Bubolinas. A mix of vintage and retro eclectic bohemian used clothing where I can always find some little treasure to add to my wardrobe. I especially love the bin of scarves! My only qualms are the prices are a little high for the as-is quality and condition (sometimes faded, stained or ripped) so inspect thoroughly. I really liked the selection at Hidden Treasures. They had things that I never thought I'd have the pleasure of stumbling upon. From enormous candles to vintage Victorian pieces, it really was a great place to find a gift for an antique lover. Having said that, it was VERY difficult to get some help. The lady who works there consistently said, "I don't know" when I asked her questions about where and when the pieces were from. Some pieces said Victorian on them and I wasn't so sure because of the craftsmanship. She didn't know either. She didn't know much! She apologized. Moral of the story: apparently, when the owner/buyer is there, he knows A LOT, according to her. Hopefully, you'll catch him! But, if you want to figure it out on your own, go for it! Its a definite place to visit. The decor of the entire store is really cool! There is so much to be found in this almost totally vintage clothing store. The tags have the decade origination of many items, walking you through a dream of time as you search for treasures in four rooms of neatly displayed decades of styles, for sale. I found one nightgown with a Universal Studios label on it in the $1.75 treasure chest, my size. Other prices were outrageous. But it was a real treasure treat to visit and explore for almost an hour. read more

Whoa! their dresses from the 50's were between $20 - 30 - not bad at all! they also have a cute treasure chest out front that have great deals - $1 a piece! If you ever buy fur from them check for tears! I bought a beautiful fur shawl that has all these tails hanging from it. I was so excited when I bought it and trusted the integrity of the store that I didn't think to meticulous check it for damage. The first night I wore it out I noticed a HUGE tear on one of the seams. I was extremely upset by this and when I called Hidden Treasures they refused to take responsibility of selling me a damaged item. I finally was able to take it to a furrier to be fixed only for them to find MORE tears, to the tune of $350. This is after I had spent around $450 on the shawl to begin with and wore it out 1 (mellow) night. Anyway.. I'll never be shopping there again, no matter how cute it is. read more

a little too expensive for me to think of this as an uber good find, but i have bought a lot of good stuff here, especially when they have sales. i have a few dresses from this store, as well as scarves, a ring that i get regular compliments on, and a beautiful leather jacket that i never wear but my roommate adores. it was seriously on sale for like $15. i feel like it can be kind of hit or miss. i'd rather direct you to a few cheaper vintage stores in los feliz or even cheaper thrift stores in orange county that ive frequented since i was a kid. read more

Went in there today, and was not impressed with their "customer service" or lack thereof. I drove 40 minutes all the way from Van Nuys because of all these "great" reviews. I was looking for a specific tutu skirt for a project and they did indeed have them, more than one - "stored in a shed in the back." The employee refused to help a buying customer and did not want to go look for them because she had to "straighten the store out" and said that they would be bringing the skirts back out in the summer. WTF? lol ...So I have to wait 6 months to come back for a skirt in which I need in a few days? I don't understand why she couldn't grab another employee to go get them if she was SO busy herself (mind you, there were like 3 people in the store). I would have been more than willing to wait given the fact that I drove 40 minutes to come there. Crappy customer service and highly overrated place. Would not be coming back here ever again. So bummed that I wasted my precious time and gas for absolutely nothing. read more

I have been here couple times when I lived in palisades. The store is a gem! Every time I went there I always got something amazing! And the price is not bad either! I got a rabbit fur coat for only $35! And the other time I got a fur blazer for around $35 too! I also love my vintage sunglasses I got there for $10!
