I absolutely love this place! It's a recommend for me whenever I have friends visiting or am nearby and want to grab something simple and reliable in quality. Their aesthetic is super cute (as you can tell from their pictures) and food is quite good. The service is always impeccable as the waitresses are polite and patient with taking your order. My go-to drink is the gummy bear though I tried their M.O.P recently. Still prefer the gummy, but also not a bad option. Their basil chicken is a solid choice for entree and if you have a decent group size, I would opt to get their waffle fries and/or the popcorn chicken to share! The only reason my review is at 4-stars is because of the wait. Granted my recent visit was at an incredibly busy time and we had to wait around 45 minutes for a table, then another 15-20 for the food. On normal days, I dont think its that busy, but their cafe is a bit smaller in size. Wish they were bigger to accommodate bigger parties! read more

Hidden in Labin Court I got there just when it opened and the staff were really friendly told me sit where I want.... The decor is pretty nice and chill...makes the place feel welcoming.... I was meeting a friend for lunch there so I went much earlier to do some work and finish some things up beforehand.... I asked the gal working what was a good coffee drink to get and she suggested the Tiramisu Latte which I went with (Soy Milk) and it was good I don't generally get flavored lattes but I went with the flow.... The latte was good....to see the menu for food and more scan the QR Code and you'll see it... They didn't have a lot of options for me since I'm picky but I got Organic House Salad and a side of Onion Rings....LOL I know what kinda combo is that!?!??!?! I wish I could give this place a perfect score because the ambience, interior decor and service were perfect! Even the food was delicious. My only complaint is that I wish I had gotten more tater tots. I ordered the waffle sandwich and it came with 2 cheesy, bacon waffle pieces and 2 sweet waffle pieces. The waffles were yummy and I enjoyed them. However it came with only 5 tater tots, which is just not enough for a tater tot lover such as myself. I will probably go again to try the coffee but I will say the two gentlemen taking orders were so kind and we even took a cute pic with the bear statue. Parking was easy and it's not hard to find if you just wander around the inside of the plaza. read more

Time to get try Hide Out Cafe -- love this cute and well tucked away cafe. It's located in a plaza at a dead end street. The place is small with well strategic placed stool, bench and small tables -- including some outdoor seating. To manage crowd/waitlist, a nice staff is hovering by the door to triage dine-in vs takeout, which we opted for the later. The interior is decorated with fair amount of greenery and trinket. I love the displayed of old camera on the shelf. There's a big bear sitting on the bench so feel free to take selfie with him. We ordered: - I tried the seaweed milk latte because it's so unique and what a good concoction. Definitely a favorite so will need to reorder. - Coffee Milk Tea - sort of watered down and no good balance of either tea or coffee. Skip this one and try another drink. - Matcha Latte -- too grainy so need a bit more whisking to break out the matcha powder. Drinks are fine, nothing super crazy or super bad. Seating is nice, it's been hot out but most of the time it shouldn't be that bad so the outdoor seating makes it go from decent to a lot of seating! read more

My friends wanted to go to this cafe for a while that went viral, since we were in California. Really adorable atmosphere like a home-y cottage with the bear theme and wood decor. The food was equally cute. We got some boba drinks and the chocolate waffle with matcha ice cream. Super good! Only thing was I felt some items were a little overpriced, which is understandable since the presentation and atmosphere of the place made up for it. The service was fast and very attentive. They made sure to take care of us which I appreciate! I would definitely want to come back again if I'm ever in the area! read more

The spot is very cute! Love the greenery decor they got going on. I think they were training new staff and so the service was a little slow. The drinks took some time to come out, but also they didn't get our food order. I guess there was an issue with their ordering system. We waited for spicy popcorn chicken, but end up canceling cause the order was forgotten and took too long. We were there at least waiting another 30min after the drinks was fully out before finding out our order was lost. Luckily, they allowed us to cancel the order. Drinks was a little bit overly sweet for the tiramisu one. The lychee mojito fizzy was also too sweet as the syrup was all in the bottom. But the drinks look nice. We had to double check the receipt to make sure they didn't charge us for the spicy popcorn chicken. Maybe the next time I visit the experience would be better. read more

Hide Out Cafe is located in Pearl Harbor. There is parking all around and there is also a parking garage that I think people forget exists. Parking was a bit of an issue because the parking spaces are a bit tight and people insist on avoiding the parking garage. I would say parking in the garage would be the best choice. The aesthetics is pretty cool. They insta has a lot of activity so I was curious enough to make the trip. I ordered the brown sugar latte. It was served to be pretty hot and so when I asked for a coffee sleeve, they didn't have anything. They offered me another napkin which didn't help much. Most cafes would offer a second cup. The little bear that is hyped up on their insta only comes with their milk tea. I asked to buy for it and it is not an option. read more

I met my friend at this plaza for the Taiwan food fair over the weekend. She brought her friend and one of their friends joined us for lunch at Hide Out cafe. The wait was much longer than I would've waited but my friend and I really wanted the drink that comes with the bear. They asked us to wait outside so not to clutter inside, which was understandable, so we found a table to sit at and chat. It was a really hot day so I'm glad they had a pitcher of water that we could get water while we waited. We both ordered the boba bear set. The bear is basically an ice formed milk tea that very slowly melts in your drink. I used my fork to help it along so that I didn't drink it and end up with just the bear. I wasn't expecting much in the flavor of the drink, since I ordered it for the cuteness factor but it was surprisingly good. Not too sweet either. I like that they added the extra touch of a bear face shaped tray to present it on. And two little cookies. My friend and I received different cookies so we split them and shared. I don't know what flavors they were. Mine was a light tan color and hers was a light brown color. I liked the flavor on the light tan better. And for the table we got hash-tag waffle fries. These were really good! Plenty of cheese which I loved. And we also got the popcorn chicken which was good. I love plants so was happy to see plants all over. I would go back because I enjoyed the food but I would look first to see if there is a better time to go that didn't have such a long wait time. read more

Overall a small place with seating inside and out. They're not opened late. Not an extensive menu of drinks, mostly stuff you'll see at a lot of cafes. They do make a pretty strong black ice coffee. When I told them I don't drink black and would like some oatmilk, they said I have to pay $1 extra after all the tendering is done. I think this turned me off for wanting to come back as you're being stingy with someone's order when it wasn't what they wanted. They could've understood the miscommunication and waved the $1 I will say I do need to come back for the featured bear drinks. Maybe service will be better next time. read more

My first visit must have been a miss since it was an utter fail. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and placed my name on the Yelp waitlist and waited over 30 mins just for someone to call my name. They sat us at a table by the restroom in the back and didn't come back for another 10-15 minutes. They looked understaffed, overworked and annoyed. After seeing this place plastered all over yelp, I really wanted to try the milk tea bear which is served ONLY dine-in. When I ordered it, the staff said they ran out, I tried to order something else and they ran out of that as well... I decided to get drinks to-go and left! I would have just given this establishment 1 star BUT I really wanted to try it. So, I came back a few weeks later... :) This time, I came on a weekday early afternoon. I placed my name on the Yelp waitlist in the parking lot and walked over to the establishment. Surprisingly, it was empty and there was no wait. We were greeted and seated promptly. The first thing I asked was if they had the milk tea bear set and they said, "YES!" I ordered that and the berry waffles. Establishment 3/5 - unassuming, cute, and small. Unfortunately, the restroom was disgustingly dirty... Service 3/5 - It definitely depends on which day and who is working. Drinks 3/5 - It's cute and looks good, but that's about it. All the drinks I've had were mediocre. I can't really say I'd come back. And I really can't rate the food as I only had waffles... read more

I tried the Osthmamthus latte with almond milk. Large of course but it's a pretty regular size. The regular size looks like the kid size in most coffee places but pretty good and a wide range of flavors. I wish I can try at least half of the menu but I am starving poor and only one stupid human stomach. Anyway, smoked a joint right before coming here so everything looked delicious. Landed on the wafflewich. Which has cheese and bacon, I normally hate but it was barely noticeable. The egg was adorable. The tater tots on the side were fried to a delicious crisp. And better than diner waffles but still not satisfying. I probably should've ordered something more worthwhile but..... I think their drinks are what's worth getting. Cute little cafe in the middle of a shopping area. The service was 10/10! Friendly staff. Food was pretty good. The basil sautéed chicken is so good. So much flavor with a little kick. Hide Out has been on my bucket list forever- FINALLY came out to visit on a rainy day and it did not disappoint!!! Service was excellent- everyone in staff was super friendly and attentive! The aesthetic here is so, so cute and it has the perfect mellow vibe to either study or have a nice relaxing tea date! Had to get the adorable little bear that floats on top of the boba ~ something you can only order in house. It was beyond what I expected- served on a cute little bear plate that comes with 2 homemade cookies... The drink itself was really, really good! Boba was perfectly cooked but what I loved the most about it was the bear itself- not too sweet and by the time it got slushy was SO delicious! Cheddar tots were served in a super cute way and were the perfect snack! Popcorn chicken was the best one had in a long time ~ there was a nice sprinkling of fresh garlic which made it so, soo good! Love hide out cafe and have been coming pretty frequently to study and snack! Their food items are so good! My favorite after all this time is still the BBQ pork belly plate! It's just so good and the salad is good too. Of the desserts, my favorite is probably the Nutella waffle that is already divided into individual pieces for you to share! The owner said that they imported a waffle machine from Taiwan! The other item worth noting is the dry noodles! So good! The toppings tend to gather on the bottom of the bowl so make sure you remember to dig into the noodles on the bottom to get the sauce part! Also last but not least, the cutest little teddy bear milk tea set that comes with boba and a short bread cookie (?). So cute and so delicious! Friendly staff and great background music. Easy parking in the lot but can get busy so you might have to park in the back of the plaza. read more

A solid brunch spot! Did I come to this place for their boba bear milk tea... yes. Was it delicious, yes! Too add, their wafflewitch was also super delicious. Probably one of the best waffles I've ever had! Super crispy yet pillowy on the inside. Not sweet but not super savory either. The texture of it was chefs kiss! Comfort food is served quality style at Hide Out Cafe. Their waffle desserts and hot plates are splendidly delicious. I've tried the Banana Nutella Waffle; good but a little too sweet. The Matcha Green Tea Waffle is BOMB; my favorite between these two waffles, a must-try for matcha lovers. Both waffles are fantastic choices though, it's whatever you are in the mood for. The hot plates are very tasty. I've gotten the BBQ Pork Belly two different times and it's a nice sized portion for lunch or dinner. The over fried semi-sunny side up egg paired with the flavorful pork belly... OMG SO GOOD. Also, the rice is soft and the perfect dry texture as I don't like sticky white rice as much. The salad dressing on the mixed greens is like a Thousand Island fusion dressing that pairs so well with the rest of the items. Customer service is a bit slow sometimes so best to go during off hours when it's not too busy like mid-afternoon like around 2 or right when they open. If you can't make it to those times for example, it's essential to use the Yelp wait list so you can track how long the wait is for your group and estimated time of when you'll get seated at a table. Ambience is casual, trendy, and relaxed. Overall, a superb eatery for comfort food and dessert. read more

Came here a while ago and it was beyond busy. There was a male waiter and he was also cooking and register. My man deserves a six star rating on his own but this review is for the restaurant. Get him some help please. The food was pretty solid though I can see why people like it but you might be in for the wait of your life. Cute little spot perfect for study dates! Hideout is located inside a big plaza and super easy to find on the first floor. The parking lot gets full at peak times so be early!! They open pretty late given the closing times in RH. The cafe is a good size and have big tables for studying. The menu has cute drinks and food items. I tried the boba bear set which the drink was good but the boba was a bit hard for my liking. The service was top notch, they brought out the drinks and food pretty fast! Would recommend for a drink with friend or a study date :) read more

The cafe is inside a Chinese plaza on Nogales; it is like Hide out as you can only see it inside the plaza! Waited around 20-30 mins on Friday afternoon around 2pm for sitting inside. Outside seating is available. There are only 2 people working outside, I don't know if anyone is inside the kitchen. The service is great as one runs barista and cashier(everything) the one waiter does everything as well. They work fast as team and friendly. We order many drinks and spent quite a bit. The milk tea, it feels like not much taste and sweetness. Maybe they are too busy. Size is okay for $6+ but taste is average. The fries is very yummy. So drinks is 2.9, food is 3.1, efforts and service balance it out. The decor is very warm and inviting. And it's well kept and clean. I see a lot of people just come to hang out for this type of Ambiance. Please make sure tea and drinks are flavorful! 4 of us ordered different drinks - a bit lacking ; probably rushed. read more

NOTE: Hard to find! Inside an outdoor shopping/food center and the sign is a small circle with small font. See picture below to help spot it! Service was great! The sit down serve was on point, servers and baristas were all very very nice and accommodating. Food was delicious, I do wish that most the waffles didn't come with a huge scoop of ice cream on them but otherwise very delicious! Popcorn chicken also very good, nice appetizer portion. My partner liked his sandwich (some classic breakfast sandwhich) and the strawberry lemonade! I have to say my first impression was pretty bad. We were dining outside with our dog, and there were only two tables left. One of the tables had a dog next to it (the owner had clearly stated that his dog was unfriendly), so we naturally prepared to go to the other table. However, the waiter refused to seat us, saying, "We were too busy to clear the food from the previous table," and asked us to sit next to the "unfriendly" dog. The fake smiles on the waiters' faces made us feel very uncomfortable, so we left immediately. No matter how good the food is, I don't think I'll be back. read more

Pro: teddy bear theme and drink. Grow: flavor/size. Tip: ask for less ice in boba as it gets watered down with additional teddy bear. Hide out Cafe is a unique cafe in Rowland heights. I loved the teddy bear themed drink and decor. The service was great and a bit of a restaurant feel as the server comes to your table. They also have food on the menu but I didn't try. Ok so I drove an hr to try this restaurant with my kids and let me tell you it was worth it!! Parking is very ez since it's in a big shopping center. The restaurant is small so expect a wait but the drinks and food are amazing. Note to self do not go there when you are very hungry bc it takes a while for you to get seated and service is very slow. Everything time comes to this cafe, they always slow and I had to wait for my food at lease two hours and up. The server is ignoring us instead taking someone else's order come in after me. A hidden gem located in a shopping center. Plenty of parking. We were able to grab a table quickly as we came during the week quickly after they just opened. It does get busy and I can see why. The restaurant has a cute ambiance to it. Service is incredible and staff made sure that every bite or sip you took was as delicious as the first. Drinks: The boba bear set is the cutest drink to order here. It comes with a frozen milk tea shaped bear. The drink is super delicious and refreshing. Food: Berry party is a charcuterie board of waffles, ice cream, custard pudding, topped with fresh berries, syrup, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. It is absolute heaven. The waffles are fluffy, crispy, lite, and cooked perfectly. I love that there is an assortment of toppings. The egg pudding was sooo good. Very cute shop with a lovely vibe. Would definitely recommend for date or a place to catch up with some friends! I arrived towards the end of the night so I cant speak to their coffee however their fruit teas do lean on the sweet side. If you are use to adjusting the sweetness level, please do plan ahead. I usually get 75 percent sweet at other local shop, but I ordered regular here and it was to the point where I had to give it away lol. Im sure they are willing to accommodate. Something that affected my stay was the pool situation. I was shocked when I discovered how small the pool area is for such a nice big hotel overall. There wasn't enough lounge chairs or anywhere to sit in general. Everyone was playing their own music loud, some louder than others, a bunch of kids splashing everywhere and I was surprised by this since I was thinking this would be a calm, peaceful resort setting. I was honestly surprised that there was no security at the time to enforce anything. Overall I tried to make the best of the circumstances but I will never return to this pool unfortunately. This hotel in general does have great views though. Why didn't the hostess let us know when we arrived? For $85 a person, I would have gone somewhere else and come back another time to enjoy myself, not feel rushed and made to feel like I was eating desserts and side items that had been out all day. We didn't get to try the Wagyu burgers since there weren't any. Just empty trays. Four or five pieces of dessert to choose from. Not four or five types, just five left. I guess if you go later, they do not put any additional food out. Pretty disappointing, especially with the high cost. Our server, Kenzie, was very friendly and definitely made our night better. The restaurant has a very cool vibe and plays music loud, but not to where it's annoying. I recommend it; just go early.

This place markets itself as Chinese "self-serve hot pot", also known as Mala Tang. The food…read more served here IS NOT that. The "Signature Mala Broth", which is supposed to be the classic Mala tang broth served in real Chinese restaurants, tastes absolutely nothing like it's supposed to. Mala means numbing (Ma) spicy (La). The numbing is caused by the inclusion of Sichuan Peppercorn, and the spicy is a result of chilli peppers. Unfortunately this soup is neither numbing nor spicy, and it's also missing many of the signature other traditional flavors that are supposed to make up the broth, such as star anise. Ultimately, it tastes like little more than tomato broth with chilli flakes thrown in. On the subject of spice, these types of Chinese restaurants traditionally offer four spice levels: mild, medium, spicy, and extremely spicy, which Big Way refers to as "Big Way Spicy", which is what I ordered. This level of spicy is supposed to be so uncomfortable that you can't eat more than a bite every few minutes. Again, this is not that. It's so mild you couldn't convince me it was even meant to be spicy. I've eaten here three times now, once at grand opening, and twice since, so I've given multiple opportunities to improve. If you think Panda Express when you think Chinese food, maybe you'll like this place. If you expect real Chinese flavors there are many better local options. Food: one star. It only gets a second star because it's clean, service is average, ambience is like a cafeteria.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL spot! I came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how amazing this place is. The food is reasonably priced relative to portion size and quality (which is through the roof!). The staff is extremely helpful and kind and were quick to answer all questions I had. I was happy to see that they have many outlets throughout the establishment so I could charge my devices, and they also offer free, FAST WiFi. I ordered a rose latte and a rice bun burger with pork belly. I asked them to make my latte warm, but not too hot, and it arrived at the perfect temperature. I was greeted with the smell of roses and the taste of a full bodied, creamy latte. Presentation was over and above my expectation as was taste. Then they presented me with my burger, and the smell alone FLOORED me. It was love at first bite, and the juicy pork belly contrasting with the sticky yet crunchy rice bun created a great juxtaposition of flavors in my mouth. It was also filled with the perfect amount of fresh leafy greens accompanied by absolutely exquisite fries, which offered the perfect balance of crunchy, soft and starchy, and salty. The ambiance in this coffee shop is also superb. I was met with the relaxing sound of jazz piano, comforting music that reminds me of my childhood. The people around me are in conversation. I can hear the happiness in their voices but they aren't being loud enough to annoy me or sound obnoxious. Sublime energy indeed. While this place is a little hard to find, nestled in a plaza between a motel 6 and a freeway, it is a welcome refuge from the hustle and bustle of society around us. This wonderful little cafe is definitely true its name. I believe that this establishment will be my hide out in many years to come. I feel safe here. This is sacred ground to pay a visit. read more

The name fits this place perfectly. It definitely is a "hideout" and a very good one being that you can relax and enjoy some of the finest teas Rowland Heights has to offer without any distractions. I saw some people complaining about the awkward opening and closing times, but I mean let's be honest, how often are you really going to be there? In any case, that's about the only bad thing I can see that could be said about this place. The staff is friendly, desserts aren't the best (but go quite well with the tea or coffee drinks) and the drinks are soothing to the core (being that they fill their tea bags quite nicely with various herbs). Bottom line is, If your in the area looking for some tea and relaxation without the noise, then this is the spot. If your on the run and need to take a break while hiding from the bad guys, then this is also the spot. a real HIDEOUT :) read more

Hide Out cafe is a great place for friends and families to hang out and enjoy some delicious food and drinks. Although I was a little disappointed to hear that their popular boba bear drink was not available during my visit, the other drinks and food options were still very impressive, presentation was really nice. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, perfect for catching up with friends or studying solo. What I appreciated most about this cafe is that it is kid-friendly. Even the setup is not completely ideal, the staff are welcoming and accommodating to families with young children. Overall, Hide Out Cafe is a must-visit spot in Rowland Heights. Even without the boba bear drink, there are plenty of other menu items to try, and the welcoming atmosphere makes it a great place to relax and unwind. read more

However, I found the drinks to be a bit too sweet for my taste. A little less sugar would make them perfect. Additionally, the service, while friendly and attentive, was a bit slow. This was understandable given that there was only one person handling everything, including being the cashier. Despite this, they managed to maintain a positive attitude and did their best to accommodate everyone. Overall, Hide Out is a lovely place with a great vibe, but they could benefit from having an extra pair of hands during busy times. Discovered a hidden gem! Tried the osmanthus oolong milk tea on recommendation, and it was delightful. The tea flavors, while blended, retained their distinctiveness. They're flexible with sweetness levels and offer milk alternatives The standout, though, was the waffle fries with minced meat and a fried egg. The fries are crisped to perfection and not too salty. It is a bit pricier, but great for sharing among friends. The cafe provides a cozy setting for catching up or remote work, although the music can be distracting during meetings. My new favorite coffee shop! This place is seriously the cutest. As well as your typical coffee and tea, they also have a selection of yummy pastries. Another aspect of which I particularly like is how clean the place is; it's seriously immaculate! Aside from the food and drink, the overall aesthetic of this shop is sublime. Though there are many coffee shops in this city, this is the first one where I've actually felt at home (and trust me, I've been to a LOT of coffee shops). I discovered a super cute spot in Rowland Heights called The Hide Out Cafe, tucked away in a plaza. It's perfect for fresh, delicious coffee. We tried the tiramisu and rose lattes, and they were fantastic! We also shared the Berry's Party, which was beautifully presented and tasted amazing--I highly recommend it. The cafe is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the vintage decor adds a charming, unique vibe. I'll definitely be back to try more from their menu! read more

Really glad they finally open earlier. Food options are simple but can take a VERY LONG TIME if there is a large group eating there. They focus here on both coffee and tea, and our really trying to make a name as the go to spot for hipster-like behavior in the area. Loved their seaweed latte. It was very daring for them to add seaweed in a drink and I was so scared to try but the server assured us that it will be very good and yep, it was very good.
