Food was delicious. I had the braised chicken with rice and salad. Really flavorful. I love the black bean sauce it was in. They are a bit short staffed but the workers here try their best. The owners need to staff a bit better. There were 5-6 tables that weren't cleaned after customers have long left. I felt bad for the waitress as she was trying her best to get to everything. She was making the drinks, taking orders, and getting the paychecks. There was no time for her to clean and flip tables over for new customers. Parking was easy as most of the places in the plaza were still closed. The restaurant is super cute. Although several items on the menu caught our eyes, we decided on the Banana Nutella Waffle and the Avocado Toast. The Banana Nutella Waffle has fresh bananas, Nutella, dark chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream with crunchy airy waffle pieces. Excellent dessert breakfast! The Avocado Toast included toasted Asian bread, an over easy egg, and a salad. That bread though... was crunchy and fluffy soft in the middle. Yummy savory goodness! But here's one thing, despite being a cafe with aesthetic drinks they come with amazing food and desert! Came for lunch right when they open and the staff were so friendly. They let us sit wherever we wanted and immediately gave us water and told us the menu is through the QR code. Friend came to visit from the OC, so of course I had to find a spot that was cute for her to take pics! We arrived and added our name to the waitlist, then waited about 15min before getting seated at the tiny bar area. I love osmanthus, so it's my go to when I see it on the menu. The savory-based Wafflewich was delicious; the only complaint I have was that they give 6 tater tots lol. This was scary because I arrived 15 minutes after they opened. So that means the soy milk could have been sitting out all night. He remade my latte with almond milk. But I still got sick. Sautéed basil chicken - favorite dish of the meal! The chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy, the seasoning was so tasty and savory and it paired so well with the basil. Was given a generous amount of chicken (larger than the rice portion!) and the side salad is appreciated too! Iconic Ice Bear with Milk Tea - I couldn't personally taste this one because lactose, but was told the tea was good. The bear was too cute to pass up and melted into the tea, visually just super cute, the shortbread on the side was good too. Upon arrival, there were quite a few people waiting outside the cafe and we were advised to add our names to the waitlist (unless we were planning to order take out). Their waitlist was directly through Yelp so you can check/view how close or far your name is on the active "live" list. We waited about 10 minutes and was quickly seated inside by the window. I've been getting takeout from here a lot because of work and it's not bad! So far I've tried the three little pigs and the basil chicken rice. The three little pigs flavor wise is pretty good, although it can get a little salty for me but the rice helps so much with that. The basil chicken flavor is pretty solid, a tiny kick of spice in the flavor but also paired pretty well with rice. I really like the salad mix that comes with the meal, it really cuts down on the saltiness and is overall really refreshing. For drinks I've tried their lattes, the lychee mojito fizzy, and their roasted tie guan yin tea. The lattes are solid, although I would get 50% sugar on them, I've tried majority of the flavors at their new location in city of industry and would say they're pretty consistent across both spots. I recommend the tiramisu latte with 50% sugar! The lychee mojito hit, but was really sweet even though I got 50% sugar (I couldn't drink more than half and had to dilute with water). They have a wide selection of drinks, food and some dessert. My friends and I ordered just drinks, but I've had some of their food items in the past. Overall everything food/drink wise is okay, nothing too memorable to me. I think this place is definitely one for the vibes. Although it's cafe vibes, most people here aren't there to study - it's more so a dine-in cafe. One thing to note is that they have a minimum purchase PER PERSON. Basically everyone needs to at least get one drink a person. Never seem if they let it slide if someone doesn't buy something, but I assume it's to deter people from taking up seats. (It happens so often and it gets very frustrating). It wasn't too busy (a few tables were open), but others who came after us got their orders taken already. We probably waited around 30 mins to get our orders taken after sitting down(initially they told us the only seats at the moment were outside, but it was hot so we didn't mind waiting for an indoor seat). They told us 5 mins for them to clean up inside, but we probably waited another 25 minutes after that to actually sit inside. After being finally seated, we thought they'd come by to at least ask if we wanted to order drinks or appetizers, but they didn't drop by at all, so my friend just had to walk up to the register and ask if we could order. They have a Yelp kiosk wait list at their entrance before they open. We got there 15 minutes before they opened on a Sunday and there were already 4 parties waiting. I would recommend to ask for no ice and add your ice bear into your milk tea to avoid it getting diluted by regular ice. At first, I thought this store would be the overhyped Instagram place but I'm pleasantly surprised! The interior of the cafe is super cute and great for studying. There's a huge parking lot dedicated to this place and it's FREE! I tried their popcorn and spicy cheese noodle, and I very much enjoyed eating them. Luckily, my friends, Niki, Angel, and Jeff were available on a Saturday evening before the flight the next morning. Yippee! I was looking forward to seeing the gigantic Brown - he's the bear from Line Friends (the messaging app is Line). Note: there are two Line Friends Stores in the USA: Hollywood and New York PARKING: free in the shared lot. It goes all around the Plaza. We parked in the back. Best calamari I've ever had. I wish they gave more than 5 pieces but the pieces were all HUGE. They were huge and crispy and the seasoning for it was so good. The lemon complimented it beautifully. The gummy drink was good, I ended up drinking almost all of my fiancé's gummy drink despite having my own bear drink The bear drink was super adorable, but functionality was probably not it. The drink itself was good, the bear should melt into the milk tea, but when it melted, it tasted like normal water. You might as well get a regular drink to enjoy more of it. This place is always hit or miss, the food has always been good but the service is always lacking, I have to keep asking the waiter if you call that a waiter for stuff, then you have to approach him since he was avoiding us (only 2 others there) and gives you an eye roll for a custom tip. Just about everyone has worked in the food industry and a tip is earned, and I felt like I earned it for your lazy waiter. We came to Hideout specifically for the Boba Bear Set and it exceeded expectations! When we first walked in, we were greeted by the friendly staff and were seated immediately. They were busy, but they were very responsive to us. Boba Bear Set - SUPER CUTE first of all. The glass, the bear, the container holding the bear - everything. It was clearly very well thought out. The milk tea itself was super creamy and not too sweet which surprised me. The boba was nice and chewy, and they gave the perfect amount. The bear added an element of ice when you crush it up. A hidden gem! I loved this little cafe! The style is very much a cute little cafe to either do some work or catch up with friends inside they have a good amount of tables but they also have patio seating as well! I got the boba bear set which showcases a cute little frozen bear that you can put in your milk tea! The milk tea was a delicious brown sugar milk tea and the boba itself was amazing! It was chewy and sweet cooked perfectly! I got the chicken waffle sandwich and it was delicious! It came with a sauce and a maple syrup dip. My favorite dish was definitely the hashtag waffle fries!
