Momo answers the phone call and takes my information and after making my appointment, she immediately texts the time, a map and cute emoji's to go with the message! This place is amazing. Right when you walk in, you're greeted by someone and the lady is very sweet! They do a Heath check and make you wash your hands. After that you go into the waiting room to fill out some forms that include what spots you want them to focus on and which spots you want them to avoid. Me and my husband went for our anniversary and the lady put a candle on our cheesecake too. She took pictures of us too which I loved! You are shown to your private suite where they have a sink, shower, bathtub, and the massage tables. They keep the room warm. They provide you with disposable robes and underwear which look like g strings but are necessary for the massage! Once you're done getting into your robe, you press the button and they'll come into your room to get started. You lay on the tables and they get started. The lady who did my massage was amazing! They take their time and make sure you are as relaxed as possible. She focused on my problem areas which was my shoulders for me. After our amazing massage, we got the body scrub. You are able to choose which body scrub you want and they scrub you down. It feels good and smells amazing! After they are done scrubbing you down, they wrap you up like a burrito for a couple of minutes and you just relax. Once you're done being cooked like a chipotle burrito, you can take a shower. The scrub left my body feeling very soft! After the shower you have the option of having alone time were you can use the bath. They have a small little bath bomb but I didn't use it since I had already taken the shower. The bathtub does have a small hand held shower head too. Right after your scrub down, they bring in the little table and seating area where you can have your cheesecake and tea. We loved the tea and the cheesecake. My husband hates hot tea but he loved the one that they provided. We also enjoyed the cheesecake! Overall, the staff and this place is amazing. It is worth every penny! Just had a massage at Hideko for our wedding anniversary and it was a magical experience! First, they confirm your massage selection via text, which I found very helpful in making sure that our entire request was going to be fulfilled. From the moment you enter the front doors you are greet by a magical Japanese wonderland. You will honestly forget that you are in Los Angeles. All of the employees are very attentive and sweet. The foot ritual was a foot soak with quick scrub. The massage was great and they applied just the right amount of pressure requested. Then, they gave us a wonderful dessert for our celebration and left us alone to have a romantic peaceful time soaking in the spa tub and using the rain shower. Such a perfect experience! My wife purchased "The Hideko Retreat" for my birthday. Man ole man, I felt like I was experiencing heaven on earth. The kingly treatment began the moment I walked through the door. A very pleasant hostess greeted me and we exchanged pleasantries. She had apparently discussed my treatment in detail with my wife prior to my arrival. After a very brief period in the waiting area, I was led to my private suite. The masseuse began with a foot wash and massage. This was followed by a full-body massage (as firm or soft as one desires). Then came the spa bath (non-erotic) with shoulder and head massage. The session ended in a private shower (also non-erotic) in the best looking doorless shower I've ever seen. When it was all said and done, I walked out to leave and was presented with my own Japanese style mini-birthday cake and hot green tea to wash it down. As if the massage was not enough, you can imagine that this put me further over the top. I have already made plans to return!! read more

As soon as I walked in you could tell this Japanese spa was different. A Japanese woman in a kimono dress greeted me and made me feel welcome right away. They care about your overall health here (also stated that they are a medical spa. I'm not sure of all the treatments they do though,) and were very attentive to detail. However as far as the massage goes it was very poor, the therapist kept asking about the pressure every 10 minutes so couldn't really drift off and her nails kept digging in as she was doing the massage so got a few scratch marks. The employees were very nice and accommodating. The place was very clean and relaxing. They gave me a nice warm green tea at the end. I went for a facial and unfortunately I wasn't very happy with it. It was basically a face wash and massage and mask. There was no steam used and no extractions or microdermabrasion. I went because my face was in need of a good facial and I asked if she was going to do extractions and she replied that "I could do that myself and they only do semi-facials there". I've never heard anyone advise that - in fact, quite the opposite. The cost of the facial was $100! They let me check in to Yelp as a first customer and took $20 off the price and I then tipped $20 because they were nice but I won't be going back for a facial there. I would consider going back for another service though. Disappointed I spent so much for a facial I could have easily done myself at home. read more

So I'll keep this reasonable short. This place is a proper spa with fantastic facilities. Cleanliness is vital for me and it was just that. It was spacious with everything you could want, ie massive powerful shower, tub and the Japanese style bed on the floor in the centre of the room where the massage commences. I've read a few comments saying the staff were pushy, yeah they were a bit but I think it's a cultural thing. I found the employees to be very nice if I'm honest. Now the massage itself was good. I can't promise you it will be your best because we've all experienced different levels so how could I possible way that up and my best may not be your best but I was satisfied and I would go back for sure. I found they tried to communicate to find what I wanted and executed it best they could. Lastly the tip thing. It is a bit awkward how forward and obvious they are but again I think it's a culture thing. I just paid 180 dollars for a massage and body scrub. That's a lot of doe so maybe they're worried customers won't consider tipping after paying a fair bit but with the location and a high standard layout and space, the overheads will be high so tips are off course important to them. So in conclusion, 4 stars out of 5 and that's only because of the tip thing. I'd have given a decent tip without being promoted so with that, it would be unfair to give a solid 5. read more

Although this spa is clean and seems well maintained, I would NEVER EVER go back. I called to make an appointment for two people and wanted 3:00 pm. The lady receptionist informed me that 3:00 was not available, but that they can do 3:30. So off we went. Upon arrival at 325, we got seated and here is where the nightmare began -we were informed that the 330 was not available for another 40 minutes, but that we were welcome to use their hot tub. We stated that we called, made an appointment for a massage, not to use a hot tub, and that we were told that 330 was available. BUT NO, she so matter of factly, with a lot of giggles, informed us that we have to wait the 40 minutes if we want a massage, even though we made an appointment. To further add insult to injury, we were shown the door!!!! We told her that it would have been fine had they not had availability, but to tell us to come only to be told that the time they gave us was not available is absolutely outrageous. Not only did she waste our time -we could have gone somewhere else, but to be summarily shown the door, was beyond rude. She was not even apologetic or sorry -simply giggled ! Unbelievable. So unprofessional and downright unacceptable. NEVER AGAIN. read more
