Review of High Desert Wholesale & High Desert Mechanic Shop I purchased a vehicle from High Desert Wholesale and initially had a positive experience with the sales team. They were polite and professional. However, during the purchase process there were repeated delays due to poor communication between the sales side and their mechanic shop. Sales staff frequently had to reschedule and apologize because the maintenance department was not coordinating effectively. I was told clearly that I had 15 days to return with any issues. Shortly after purchase, I discovered the vehicle had an aftermarket ballast installed. I assumed the dealership was aware of this. I later had the vehicle inspected and was informed that not only did the ballast require replacement, but the vehicle also had an SRS airbag system fault -- a serious safety issue. I was quoted approximately $500 for repairs. When I informed the shop that I wanted my vehicle returned so I could seek repairs elsewhere, I was pressured to continue repairs with them. When I insisted on retrieving my property, the situation was escalated to the owner. The owner spoke to me in a dismissive and belittling manner, questioned my decision, and implied I was foolish for not allowing them to perform the work. I reiterated that I no longer felt comfortable having their business work on my vehicle and simply wanted my keys returned. After going back inside, a staff member promptly provided my keys without issue. The sales staff were professional. My concerns center on: * Poor internal communication between departments * A safety-related SRS fault discovered shortly after purchase * Pressure to proceed with repairs after I stated I wanted my property returned * Unprofessional communication from ownership I recommend buyers have any vehicle independently inspected immediately and pay close attention to the 15-day window. read more

These guys are nothing but scammers and unhelpful people, sold us a car with transmission problems and when we contacted them regarding it they said they would give us a call and never did, they waited till the warranty on the vehicle expired and afterwards said they couldn't do anything about it. We took the vehicle to two different places(the second place being the dealership itself) both having paperwork showing the problems and they still insisted "their mechanics" said everything was good. Before you consider buying from them i highly suggest getting it checked out somewhere and not trusting their word that they have inspected it. read more

I have bought 2 vehicles from high desert auto with 3 years first car ac went out after 2 months. 2nd car I bought 1 month ago throttle body went out after 1 month post purchase. Got it fixed mechanic said there was never a throttle body gasket in first place leading from throttle body. Car wouldn't go over 2000 rpm until fixed. During buying process salesman lied about auto check saying " if we told everyone everything on auto check or carmax we'd never sell any cars" this place doesn't inspect cars well and gives a name to sleezy car salesman. They gave us all this information but when we called the number THEY gave us in the email, Richard was absolutely disgusting, rude and unprofessional. He seemed so bothered and bugged we called at all. Never again will I even attempt to give these people a chance. A friend said she had a bad experience and I should've listened. Looking for a used pickup truck to beat around the desert in for work. Saw a couple of trucks on line from this dealership and decided to stop by. Of course the vehicles I wanted were already gone, but there were new ones in their place that were just as good. I test drove several of them until I found one I liked. Since this was wholesale and "as is" of course I couldn't get any more of a deal than what they offered originally (or maybe I just suck at negotiating?), but the vehicle was already fairly inexpensive for what it was (2006 Toyota "TRD" Sport 4WD). Of course there were a few things that needed fixed, but overall it was in pretty good shape. I'm happy with the vehicle and the salesman. read more

I bought a 2011 jeep liberty from them for 8500. Looked great inside and out. within a week the brake light came on.Iy was leaking brake fluid. I went back and the salesman told me it was from normal wear and tear and I was on my own. $426.00 later the leak was fixed. It was 97 degrees outside when I test drove the car and the AC worked great. I didn't check the heater. Turns out I'll have to replace most of the heating system. well over another 1000 dollars. my question is, don't they have a mechanic that checks these things out before they put the car in the lot for sale? I am from California and I am used to fast-talking, pushy used car sales people. These guys are FAR from that! I had the best experience EVER buying my Toyota Corolla from these guys. It is easy to see why they have been in business for more than 17 years! I walked in and browsed all the cars but didn't really see what I wanted. I test drove a Corolla that was a year older than I really wanted, so I let them know what I was looking for. Luis told me that he could get me what I wanted so I gave him my number, and less than a week later he had EXACTLY what I was looking for! I test drove it, showed it to my wife, and went back and bought it. :) AND... It still has a factory warranty and only 47K miles!!! (Turns out that it was missing the scissor jack and the glove compartment handle, so Luis had me bring it back and he had everything fixed for me. He even had his mechanic adjust the parking brake because I didn't like the way it 'felt.' LOL) I am VERY impressed with the professionalism and expedience they displayed, not just Luis but all his coworkers. Oh yeah, the credit union he works with got me 5% APR, YAS! I will not buy another car unless I get it from High Desert Auto Wholesale. Now to convince my wife to get rid of her Kia and go to High Desert!
