Absolutely fantastic meal. Literally the best Caesar salad I've ever had. Everything was delicious. Really love the decor (tables are a little small for my taste). Service was slow at times but it was fairly busy. Would definitely go back.

The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because of how loud it was in there. Everything else was great! The food is so fresh and feels so local. The Cesar salad is iconic with the amount of cheese and is really great. Our service was pretty good! Nothing to complain about but nothing to write home about! Def one of the best restaurants in westerly

Simply stumbled on this cocktail bar and restaurant in downtown Westerly. My 4 year old daughter and I were passing through I did not have time to research before visiting. However we both felt very welcomed! This is a beautiful classic New England tavern (that I will be coming back to with my fiancee). The atmosphere, and food fare is classy and romantic. Our server was charming, my daughter enjoyed buttered linguine, chocolate pudding, we had the sweetest elegant mommy & me experience.

High Hope Tavern has a simple but unique menu. You can find your basics like a burger but it may have a unique twist. They have a limited menu, but you can certainly trust that anything you order will amaze you. Every dish has a bold but great tasting flavor. I came across this restaurant on Tik Tok and knew I had to go when I saw the massive cheese pile served atop the Caesar Salad. We started with the garlic bread and oh my goodness, the marinara sauce had this amazing tang to it. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad and was thoroughly impressed. The chicken was tender and the dressing was so good. My aunt ordered the linguine and clam sauce, I tried a bite and for someone who doesn't love seafood I really enjoyed it. My boyfriend ordered the fried chicken sandwich which came with a banana pepper ranch sauce, he loved it, but it was a little too unique for my simple palette. I loved the decorations in the restaurant, it felt like an actual tavern and there was this amazing huge piece of artwork behind the bar. Honestly, my only complaint is that the table was small for three people but the staff was very attentive at clearing our table.

Beautiful spot. Fun staff and and interesting client base. Drinks were superb. Look forward to someday wondering in again.

High hope tavern is a beautiful spot to have a cocktail or beer at. The decor is stunning and it's located in downtown westerly, so an easy spot to stop by while in that area. I went for happy hour and they had good specials and great service. I tried the whipped ricotta and oysters when I went and both were wonderful. I also had a few local beers and each was served in the appropriate glass to maximize how it tastes. The waitress was warm And welcoming and was quick to offer suggestions and service. Just a lovely gem of a spot in a foodie heavy downtown area.

Black fish in Beurre Blanc sauce -- a special of the day.

We stopped here during our drive home from a trip to Newport. Everything about this place is awesome. It's on Canal Street with a view of the water. The space is airy and well designed in an old building with high ceilings and nice long bar. But the food is the star! We started with the Smoked Fish Pate made of bluefish and salmon belly. It was the perfect opening dish. I had Chicken Milanese -- which is often boring, but not here! It was topped with a Mexican-style mix of grilled corn, cabbage, elote sauce, cotija and lime. Amazing. My wife had the special -- a blackfish with Beurre Blanc sauce and sautéed veggies. Also amazing. We highly recommend High Hope!

We come to Westerly every year for vacation and dine in Westerly and all of the surrounding areas. High Hope Tavern was truly a 5 star experience from the service to the cocktails to the food. We shared the fried grits, tuna tartare, summer risotto, and lobster roll. Everything was very seasonal and outstanding, but the real show stopper was the Mille-feuille we had for dessert. I mean just look at my picture; it tastes as good as it looks. They change the filling based on the season, but for the summer the homemade puff pastry is layered with mascarpone, mixed berries, and peaches. It's perfection. We'll definitely be returning next year.

Christine, the hostess, was super helpful with our questions about some of the dishes. We ended up having an order of fries, Caesar salad, burrata with peppers and eggplant, bacon wrapped dates with cherry pepper gorgonzola and oysters on the half shell. All absolutely amazing and the service and ambiance was perfect. Love the books and artwork too

The Caesar salad alone is worth the trip. Chicken Milanese was some of the best I've had. Everyone in the group also loved the burger & espresso martinis. Would have skipped dessert and sad they had no coffee / espresso options - but still five stars and highly recommend.

Great spot for local oysters and an electic menu downtown. We ordered the kimchi crispy rice, parmesan beans, grits, and mussels. We will definitely be back!

The food was high quality, mostly locally sourced and perfectly prepared. Sauces and seasoning couldn't have been tastier. Went there a few days ago for the first time. My first choice was the "Summer Fettuccine" which unfortunately was so popular it had recently sold out. I settled for the more plebeian hanger steak which at any random restaurant can be anywhere from meh (mediocre) to excellent. This was EXCELLENT! Tender and tasty. Loved it. I decided to come backcountry the next morning and sample their breakfast fare. Equally delicious. So satisfying. Had a few things all excellent but the "simple" (not really so simple) "Morning Taco" was outstanding; definitely a cut above. The staff was extremely friendly, especially our outside bartender Gabrielle, who was fantastic, so personable and creative with her drinks. Honestly, the drinks and her service were the best part of our experience. We started with the lobster wraps, which were good, but the tarragon and dill were very strong and overpowered the lobster. Next we had the scallops for $38, which I didn't feel were worth the price about 12 small scallops with a bit of lettuce. They were cooked well, corn sauce was nice but nothing particularly special, and I would've ordered differently knowing what I was getting. We were still hungry, so we got the rigatoni, which was delicious. My only note was again the heavy use of fresh dill, which started to overpower an otherwise great dish. Overall, I would absolutely come back for the location, the great staff, and especially Gabrielle. I'd return for drinks and try different menu items next time.
