This company...smh. I happened to be getting estimates for a roof and gutter replacement when one of their solicitors approached me while I was in my garage...thought she was sent by God so I agreed to an appointment :-). I already knew the appointment would be a big sales pitch, but I still signed up to see what they had to say. I had nothing better to do, and who knows, right? The day of the appointment, I got a call that the salesperson would be 1/2 hr late - eyebrow raised - um, ok. When he finally arrived, he was very cordial, and he mentioned that his partner was finishing up a big job and would be along shortly. An HOUR LATER, the partner arrived then the show was on. They went through a whole spiel about local roofing price averages, Homewyse data, their company's reputation, blah, blah, blah...the whole time playing off each other. They even tried to convince me that companies with lower bids were most likely using inferior components...like felt paper - uh, no. It became a little entertaining to watch. They kept asking about financing, to which I responded that I take my time and save up to pay cash for everything - that seemed to put a bit of wrinkle in their sell job. They finally cut to the chase (as I'm doing here) and threw a BIG number at me: $25K for a SIMPLE 5/12-pitch roof with no angles. "Is that about what you were thinking?" Me: "Not even close." Oh, yeah, I guess I forgot to include the $3K estimate on top of that for the gutters. If I decided to wait, the one-year price would be $29K+ $3K, because, you know, materials and labor cost increases. They were even nice enough to cut the total price to $25K if I decided to work with them now. Wait, am I buying a used car or a roof? The kicker is that they left me with a handwritten proposal on notebook paper. Huh?? Long story even shorter, I went with a company with an extraordinary reputation that charged me about half the High Priced Homes one-year price. They're using better materials and even replacing all the sheeting on the roof over the main part of my house. While I was signing the contract, the estimator discovered an error in his estimate and knocked $1,000 off the price without me saying anything about it. Bottom line: Please stay away from High Priced Homes. There are many trustworthy companies out there - no need to waste your time. read more

We paid $73000 for new siding and a new roof. The siding and roof look great, but now our interior walls have small holes and a big crack. They won't come out to fix them because they say it isn't their fault. I can't believe for that kind of money they can't fix the damage they caused. read more

I rarely give negative reviews..but this company is rude beyond rude. It's all about GETTING INSIDE YOUR HOUSE, AT ANY COST. NOT ABOUT GIVING YOU AN ESTIMATE. example: Late in the afternoon yesterday a pleasant guy, Taylor is his name I believe, knocked on the door. Saw that we had a patch on our roof and asked if he could give me a quote. I said yes and we scheduled a quote for the next morning at 10 am. He also said someone would call me in a bit to confirm. I was on a call to Australia when the call came in, so a msg was left. Ok, that's normal. Ten minutes later, Taylor drives up to my house with his phone in hand saying Tim, the scheduler is trying to get ahold of you! That should have been my first red flag. I spoke to Tim "The scheduler" on the phone and confirmed tomorrows appt. He said both my husband and I were required to be there. Ok. So this morning, my husband awakes with a fever, and is feeling poorly. So I call the only number I have on my phone from Tim (the business card does NOT have a phone number on it) and i get a recording so I leave a msg, that my husband is fevering and we need to cancel. No call back. At 10:07 2 guys show up at the door, driving different vehicles. I was in the backyard so didn't hear the door right away. I answer the door and explain i had called that morning to cancel, as my husband is sick with a fever and wont be able to do the appt. The main guy says, no prob, i'll give you a bid anyway. (in the meantime, Tim the scheduler had called my phone to tell me the 2 guys were waiting by my front door) I tell them, go ahead and inspect the roof, then give me the estimate, but not to come in as my husband has a fever. THE SALES GUY SAYS, THATS FISHY, WE DROVE 2 HRS TO GET HERE AND WE CANT COME IN? ITS NOT LIKE HE HAS MALARIA!! And goes on to say a fever is nothing. His voice is raised and he is mad. (no concern for my husband, only all about him) I remind him I called and canceled, he argues how far he drove and the other guy drove even farther.. and I said I'm sorry your company didn't call you to cancel and he stomps away. The second guy (getting trained) stays behind..and I tell him, I don't trust your partner. BOTTOM LINE, THESE ARE HIGH PRESSURE SALES GUYS . THEY COULD INSECT THE ROOF AND SIMLY GIVE A BID, BUT NO---------THEY WANT IN YOUR HOME. I will not reschedule with this company. read more

They tried to take advantage of my grandma trying to rush her saying she only has a day to make it a decision. If I wasn't there then she probably would have went with it. They gave a set price at $22,000 and said they would give her a discount for $16,000 plus $7,000 for expenses which is actually more then the set price.My grandma trusts people to easy and it hurts to see people try to pull a fast one on her. read more

I got a call from this company today and the person on the line started with "are you [insert my name], do you still own the home at [insert my address] and how old is your roof? What kind of moron thinks that cold calls like these work on intelligent people? It was either a scam call or a call from a truly crappy company. I've never heard of this company at all and not a chance in heck i'd work with someone from a cold call like this. High Performance Homes - Roofing... They will do whatever it takes to make you a happy customer, for life. First, this company (HPH) did an incredible job on re-roofing my home (Rob's Crew), with the incredible Corning Roofing tiles and process with a 50 year guarantee. The crew did an outstanding job and worked early morning till sunset, and even came back to do more work. They were extremely hard working and so positive and excited about their company. (I had three layers to be removed). I thought it would take a week, but they were goal driven and did it in 2 days. When I had a concern, Dustin came out and made sure that everything was perfect, including a new replacement of a vent (free). These men are full-time employees, not contractors and have been with the company for years. I had only one issue with HPH about financing that didn't reflect our agreement. This company worked with me and the finance company to reissue the loan to reflect a downpayment. It took awhile, but Taylor made sure that I got the best deal and explained what happened to my satisfaction. I really appreciated his working on this very touchy issue in such a friendly and professional manner. To smooth it over more, he restarted the 3 months before payment due. I recommend this company because of the high quality of work and the 'we will make the customer happy' commitment with no problems. I love my new roof with all the upgrades my original roof failed to incorporate. read more

In chronological order... Minor issue: Scheduling person on the phone talking to my husband questions his marital status, and my first and last name. Double-checked that I would be home when they come for their inspection. Hubby made sure to repeat that we would not be buying/signing at the appointment; we were considering this for 6 months or so. Moderate issue:Salesman talked about how bad our roof was... A local contractor told us less than a year ago that we likely had a few years to go on the roof, and that it was in good repair, so this HPH person telling us it could go bad in the next rainstorm seemed suspect. MAJOR ISSUE: Quote directed at me (the little wifey) : "You aren't talking. You haven't talked at all. Are you even paying attention? Am I just blowing hot air here? Am I just wasting my time? Are you just here wasting my time when you aren't even interested?" As a matter of fact, I was paying attention. My husband that was left speechless when the salesman said this! MAJOR ISSUE: Quote about 5 minutes after the paying attention tantrum: "If I have to come back all the way out here, I'll lose at least one or two other customers just because you wouldn't sign it tonight." Sorry you don't live out here. If you don't want to do business out here, then stop canvassing the area. Moderate issue: We weren't willing to sign immediately. He asked why. I said we needed time to talk about it between ourselves. He offered to wait outside while we discussed it, "no matter how long it would take to decide to go with our product." Husband said we wouldn't be signing anything for $25k without getting additional bids. Salesman didn't seem to understand why anyone would do such a thing when their product was clearly superior. However, he made sure to tell us, "I don't really care if you sign tonight or not. I still get my payday on Friday." Since I wasn't "paying attention" anyway, and he's getting paid whether we agree to the roofing job or not, we decided to seek out another company. Maybe one that isn't insulting. read more

In my opinion, High Performance Homes (HPH) utilizes canvassers/salesmen who engage in high pressure, predatory sales tactics, ignored our conspicuously placed "No Soliciting" sign at our door later only to claim that it was "too dark" to see (it gets dark in May at 8pm and they were here at 5pm). Creepy that the salesman apparently researched the ownership of our home and made an end-run around worm his way into our home and ultimately consummate an agreement with my wife. Originally quoted $33,217 for a garden variety, average roof with an extensive warranty (a second company quoted $28,325 CertainTeed Presidential (higher quality roof) with a comparable warranty. We informed High Performance Homes our intent to cancel agreement and ask for refund four-and-a-half days, salesman advised us that we were beyond the 3 day cooling off period (Washington Law) and referred us to contract essentially stating that we were a day-and-a-half late and implying that therefore we would have to pay over $11,000 to walk away from the agreement. (mobilization for the roof install is/was 4-6 weeks out so canceling the agreement only required writing "void" on the agreement and issuing a $2000 refund which we initially offered for them to keep as "Stupid Tax"; they refused to let us out of the agreement, even with this reluctant 'Stupid Tax' offering). The second firm correctly identified masonry work (we have a brick home) required to make the roof seal properly (counter flash step flashing) which is isn't completely obvious to a layman, but after further inspection and clarification from a second vendor, it was absolutely necessary! High Performance Homes did not identify the required masonry work in their estimate/contract, and further follow-up discussions revealed that nobody on their team would be able to perform masonry work. Not to mention that High Performance Homes incorrectly measured our home to indicate 22 squares, but the second firm measured 19 squares which included an overage allowance. Potential customers beware, please take a moment to review youtube video entitled "Our Experience with High Performance Homes (HPH) Vancouver, Washington" before agreeing to anything with this firm. read more

When I told him I was from here ( inferring to Portland) he responded by saying, "no really, what ethnicity are you? I had to demand that he leave... because... well- come on, man?! HIGH PERFORMANCE HOMES = HIGH PRESSURE SALES     DON'T BE PRESSURED TO SIGN. NO VERBAL AGREEMENTS OR PROMISES ARE HONORED. I would not recommend this company for roof installation or any other service. The salespeople do not accurately represent the actual project and simply told us what they thought would sell the roof. In hindsight we realize they used high pressure sales techniques which caused us to sign before we were prepared and had time to thoroughly understand the project or do research. For example - We could only get the large discount if we signed on the spot. If we wanted to wait and do the project the next summer(because winter weather was a concern) we would lose the discount and pay a 10% inflation cost. From what I can tell many of the 5 star reviews on Google were done just after the sales team left not after the work was completed. This is when they send you the google review link and put on the pressure to do the review that day. Too late I noticed that reviews on Yelp seem more accurate and talk of the high pressure sales that we experienced. I wish I would have read these reviews on Yelp before we had the meeting. We were naive and trusted these guys and now feel conned. Lesson learned I guess - thousands of dollars later. The job differed in many ways from what they told us during our almost 4 hour consultation/inspection. Because of this lack of transparency and information from the sales team we lack confidence in our roof and HPH. 1 - High Performance homes does none of their own insulation work. They are strictly a sales and operations company. They subcontract out the "hands on" work to other local roofing companies. This was not apparent to us during the sales stage and the salespeople said "our guys" or "our installation teams" when in fact while the job was being done there were absolutely no employees from HPH during the entire process.   2- HPH Sales team said "the work will take 3 or at the most 4 days to complete" Actual time it took to complete just the "hands on" roofing part of the project was 10 days. This is NOT including gutter replacement or the actual drop off of the roofing supplies and parts a week before the project started.  3. Sales guys - "Winter weather? Rain?, NO problem, only a 6 to 8 hour dry spell is needed for tear off." This was not accurate. The roofing parts were delivered a week prior to when the work actually started. Parts were literally blowing off the roof and around on the roof for a week. We had to use our own tarp to cover the plywood so it didn't get soaked from the rain and pick up parts when they blew off the roof. When the work started they needed various long dry spells to complete the project. Again it took 10 days to complete the project not 3 or possibly 4 days as we were told up front. 4. Sales guys - "Gutters? You want bigger downspouts? Our downspouts are waaayy bigger than the ones you have." Again this was not accurate. You guessed it -  same size downspouts as the ones we already had. 5. Sales guys - "Ridge vents? They come with the High Performance Package." Me - "Can we get the Performance (next tier down) Package and pay to add the ridge vents on?" Sales guys- "We don't recommend it, usually it ends up being the same price as purchasing the HPH package." We talked for quite a while about ridge vents and looked at pictures. Ridge vents were something specific that we wanted.  Guess what - During the insulation from the install company we found out that our house does not support ridge vents. So no ridge vents were installed.  At least the roof looks great and I hope the quality is good. It is hard to know considering the overall lack of transparency and miss information on the part of HPH. Overall a very disappointing experience. read more

2 stars = Meh. I've experienced better. Day 1, Friday: Solicitor rings our doorbell, explains what his company does (roofing, siding, home exterior) and asks if we want to schedule a time for an estimate. Since a wind storm had blown off some shingles I said sure. Day 2, Saturday: Sales Rep shows up, goes up on roof, takes photos, etc. Then comes in and explains his findings and what he has to offer. Their roofing materials looked above average. After an hour of discussing roof materials he showed us his estimate, and immediately took of 17%, then minutes later brought it down to 25% off. He brought up financing and then learned that we were going through insurance to get our new roof installed. He was not willing to share a cost breakdown for us to submit to our insurance company for approval. He kept saying he doubted that our insurance would cover the cost, and he urged us to sign a home improvement credit application along with their agreement. We did not sign the credit application, but he agreed to return two days later so we could discuss a cost breakdown. Day 4, Monday: We haven't heard from them since. ---- The Kicker: I told him that our insurance offers approved contractors but that they also let us choose our own contractor if we want and that was why I agreed to getting an estimate from them. He told me it is illegal for an insurance company to provide an "approved contractor" yet minutes later told me to submit his original cost, and that he would only charge us his 25% discounted price. Then, if the insurance approved the estimate we would get to keep the difference. Is that not fraud? read more

We had a very friendly Salesman come in and explain how their roofing company is great (and it truly is). Their BBB reputation reinforced their service and sale, which led my family into purchasing their product and service for our roof replacement. The salesman checks the home very thoroughly to check for any leaks that have gotten through the roofing shingles and any mold caused by it. He was very safe when measuring the square feet of the roofing and also said his entire company is insured (for 2 million dollars) in case one of their workers was hurt, and that we would not lose anything or be sued like other illegitimate roofing groups. The salesman was 100% honest and said that this is not the cheapest thing but also not the most expensive and that their warranties are a lot better (due to a wider staple area). When the workers came, they worked diligently, efficiently and safely (that is very important). They got the bottom layer done so when it rained the next couple days, no water would get through and soak the housing skeleton. The workers also pinned down some steps while working just in case they slip, they have something to catch themselves or stand on. Harnesses were also worn, so there was no need to be nervous for them while they worked. After they were done each day, they cleaned up everything on the outside and rolled a large magnet to get any nails around the garden since we have a dog. They also respected our koi pond and tried their absolute best to avoid dropping anything in the pond as it may hurt the expensive fish. It took a total of 4 days as promised and my family is very satisfied. The only complaint I have would be the Sky Light area, but this is probably the only problem for everyone since some random chunks of stuff will fall down while they put on the shingles. I had to clean it up though (it was in the upstairs restroom). Being complimented on our home overall, we were able to advertise and lower the price of the service even further such as putting a sign that our roof was done by High Performance Homes in front of the garden for 30 days. Very great and friendly company. The material of the shingles will definitely last 35 years as promised. read more

Salesman was great. Laborers were great. We were crunched for time, so project was finished on time before we headed for vacation. Customer service sucks. Things explained to us were not completed. We were supposed to have a pre-con meeting with someone, who never showed. It would have alleviated some mis-communication problems. When we had We kept being shuffled around without specific answers to some of our concerns. Never had a final walk-around with someone. The roof looks great, but customer service isn't what is advertised. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! There are way too many problems with them and you are better off using a competitor. Below is a list: 1. Roofers quit in the middle of the job so my roof was left unfinished for weeks. I'm guessing they don't treat their roofers very well 2. When the roof was finally finished they left a pile of trash in my yard for two weeks which is still sitting there 3. They replaced a board on my roof and never painted it so it is a different color than the rest of my house. Not sure why it wasn't painted prior to installing it. 4. They chewed up the siding on the roof and never repaired it properly 5. They left tons of trash, shingles, and nails in the gutters 6. Not very responsive on when the roof was supposed to be finished. It just sat there unfinished for weeks without any word on completion. read more

We contracted with HPH to replace our roof. The salesperson & estimator came out by appointment. Both were on-time, pleasant, & professional. We were promised a superior job, with a superior warranty, and we received a superior job on our roof. It's a beautiful job. All edges of the roof are fully flashed, which in it's self lends a superior finished look. The crew arrived on schedule to begin. I did a quick Walk Around with the Foreman to discuss areas of concern that I had. He was attentive and communicated the concerns to the crew (in Spanish). One minor error on the part of HPH was that the Foreman had a diagram of the area where some roofing plywood needed to be replaced. The area above the chimney WAS NOT INDICATED even though it was on the original job write-up. Consequently, the crew didn't intend replace that area of the plywood. Fortunately, I knew that area NEEDED to be replaced and specifically pointed it out to them BEFORE they covered it with the underlayment. The job proceeded very well, and without incident. The result is a beautifully done roof. This crew was very good. They did a tear-off and a beautiful re-roof of 26 squares in one-and a half days. Afterwards they did a pretty good clean up of the area. Not perfect, but very acceptable. After they left I did a thorough inspection of the roof. The work was very good, but I had some minor damage to the gutters where they were throwing the tear-off material down into the dump truck. I was able to straighten the gutter well enough that you can't tell from the driveway or street, so no big deal. Our roof job was estimated at 28 squares, even though I was sure it was 26 squares. What I didn't know is that were 10 or 11 bundles of shingles left over that my wife saw the crew toss into the dump truck as debris. That's almost 3 squares, Not real happy about that part, but the extra unused plywood WAS credited toward the final cost of the job. All-in-all, we paid a superior price for a very superior roof that has a superior warranty that I hope we NEVER NEED TO USE. :) read more

Worst company I have ever dealt with. 3 weeks late to the job, took a month to finish. Furthermore, the waste management container was filled with brand new materials they were burrying to justify the rip off price. I would not have known this if the container wouldn't have sat in my driveway for 3 weeks smelling from the garabe left buy those using my container as a midnight dump. So when the rains came my job still was not complete and I had these morons running around trying to slap gutters up only to hear and find the back of my house was scratched from falling ladders. I hope that guy was ok! Do not use these clowns. The owner is a lying turd sack who was standing with the ABC roofing supply rep (on site) talking about "getting that Lobster dinner again" while standind next to the very dumpster containing the brand new squares of shingles. I'm pretty sure Malarkey Shingle Company would be mortified knowing their awesome material is not only being thrown away, but that it is grossly marked up before hitting the landfill...30 year shingles + pollution= ? We bought 14k worth of windows from High Performance homes. The installation was great and we liked the windows until one broke four years after installation. It's been frustrating trying to get a response on how to get if fixed. First of all, the warranty doesn't cover broken windows. Second of all, no one at high performance homes can help us with anything because they just use outside suppliers. The main woman I was working with is never available, and she says she'll call you back, but doesn't always. I've spent over 4 hours just trying to figure out how to replace the window. If your going to do windows, don't go though this company. Also, don't get alside or alpine windows because the warranty doesn't include broken windows. It broke from a fly swatter so clearly it was defective. Best of luck! read more

Roof looks amazing. Thus the one star. That's where the professionalism seems to end. Customer service is atrocious; specifically communication. Roofers left early, arrived late, left nails throughout. NO yard cleanup. My children and I have found a plethora of nails throughout the yard. The cleanup crew has yet to come back out, despite twice being assured that it would be rectified. Inspector did not use ladder to get onto roof to inspect and did not come inside. When communicating frustrations to front office staff, we were met with apathy and disregard for anything other than payment. Staff were argumentative regarding anything that required their timetables to coincide with client schedules. There was a sense of HPH valuing their own time, while little else seemed to matter. The inspector and account manager lied about their interactions with my wife and had no empathy for the distress these incidents caused. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this company to anyone. Save yourself the headache and pay professionals who can remain professional throughout the process. read more

Sales rep for this company had been canvassing the neighborhood multiple times soliciting new roof estimates (our neighborhood is hitting its 20 year mark) and since they were going to give my neighbor an estimate I figured why not. Red flags popped when they spent over 3 hours at my neighbor's house and their estimate came in 15K higher than I knew other neighbors have paid with competing companies (and for larger homes). I went ahead with the estimate appointment but already skeptical, salesman arrived on time and was courteous. They were really insistent that any spouses be on site during the estimate, and had to be told multiple times that I am the sole legal homeowner and that would not be necessary. That was off-putting, as they were really pushy about it in a way that felt condescending. The salesman told me he'd be doing an inspection of my roof, but that he also need access my attic to "look for any leaks or mold" and that they'd given my neighbor 15 plywood slabs for leaks they had discovered in their attic (my neighbor confirmed they never had them install these, so they lied). That sounded alarms as entering my home was never mentioned in the original sales pitch and doesn't feel necessary for a simple estimate. As soon as I said they did not have permission to enter my home, the salesman wanted to reschedule. No attempt to do an inspection of the roof itself which I was more than willing to have performed as per original pitch. I interpret that to mean their sales pitch is heavy on scare tactics based on time sensitive "leaks" that may or may not exist. Salesperson left without performing any inspection, but they were not rude as I've seen on other reviews. The whole affair felt like I was being sold a time share. Just kind of gross. read more

This company is a big JOKE!!! Do not go through them. Short story we had problems with them installing our windows, kept calling and getting told different things pushing it out farther and farther. Then they bring the wrong screens and it took them 2 weeks of them not answering the phone and finally me going to BBB for them to fix the problem. The "owner" supposedly came to my house and made my husband sign papers stating he would take the bad reviews that I wrote down and he would give him $300.00 back for all the problems we have had. I took down the reviews and we have been waiting for them to fulfill their empty promises since May. So here we are now in August 3 months later and still nothing. We watched a strange woman walk through my neighbor's YARD into our YARD (who does that?!) and then up our porch stairs where she passed eye-level with the "NO SOLICITING" sign on our front door. She rang the bell and proceeded to start talking about our roof and her estimate of its age, and seemed completely clueless when we complained of her actions. After calling the company we read the online reviews. They are completely justified. This company clearly encourages its door-to-door sales team to ignore the rights and wishes of homeowners with regards to soliciting/trespassing. I had some difficult issues, replacing windows from the 1960s. They took extra time to make sure everything was done right. They kept things clean and organized. I highly recommend them! read more

So I'm sitting at home sick on a Thursday, we have a no soliciting sign on our door. But some young guy knocks on my door and stands back watching me in the window. I answer the door, and his first words to me are, "I see your no soliciting sign and I mean no disrespect...." Then why did you, and your partner watching from the car, knock on my door? Had new roof (cover, rather than replace) and full window/patio slider replacement done in May. Cons: Likely over-paid (my fault for caving in to the rather pushy sales-pitch); Roof was done as a mostly 1-person job, unsatisfactorily explained as a scheduling conflict; 'inspector' (theirs) did not actually go up for a close visual; no follow-up from the salesmen (typical: they got what they wanted). Bottom line up front: Absolutely unacceptable when it comes to follow through, professionalism and communication. Beware the fine print! Despite the rep (Dan) being extremely persistent while selling the product, the moment we signed the paperwork the effort completely halted, and we had to contact HPH several times almost daily for weeks/months in order to progress through the stages of the project. They have a cancellation policy of 3 days in the fine print, which they stick to, claiming that they're such an efficient company that everything has already been ordered in that three days, and all of their employees have been pre-paid for the project (this statement was made by a regional manager named Andy). They do not hold themselves to the same standard of expediency or diligence in any way, and do not stick to any of the timelines they provide for progression through the project. We signed the paperwork for the project in May and were told we'd hear in a couple weeks about scheduling, but did not. We then called/emailed/texted several times for a status update and were met with promises of "expediting the project," which is not what we were asking for: we were asking to be scheduled within the timeframe they originally promised. The end of June comes and our product is installed. They tried to have us sign the completion/satisfaction documents before the initial installation was complete, which is completely unacceptable and inappropriate, especially given that we had to have the team come back out to fix installation errors. When everything was fixed, payment officially began on August 1, and we were promised the warranty certificate would be processed within 2 weeks of the first payment. In response to several requests, HPH continued to send the generic warranty but not our registration number. It was not until a Better Business Bureau complaint was made that the warranty issue was finally resolved (in September). At every stage, we received all sorts of responses from the sales and management teams, many of which were various employees sharing too much information about family, financial and medical conditions each team member have been dealing with, as reason for delays in fulfilling HPH's end of the contract. We did not receive any response from the higher ups we contacted until the BBB became involved, despite being included on most of the correspondence. Overall, there was a complete lack of professionalism, and I do not trust HPH as a credible or efficient company. We like the Owens Corning product that was installed and would highly recommend finding a different company to install if this is the product you're interested in. read more

Do not work with this company. They were working on homes in my neighborhood and asked if they could schedule me for a quote. I gave them my info and they called back a week later. My wife and I were unable to be home at the same time as we both work so they did not want to schedule the quote. I said fine but unfortunately we wouldn't be able to do business with them. That was all fine, what comes next is why I am leaving this review. The sales agent came back to my home 2 weeks later and spoke to my wife. He asked why we didn't sign up for the quote and she explained the scheduling issue. He accused her of giving the company a fake number. She asked him to leave and as he walked out our driveway our ring camera caught him calling my wife stupid. But it doesn't end here, I have since received 2 calls from the company asking me if I am ready for my quote. Seems wierd since I must have gave them a fake number. Also the last time they called I asked the caller to remove me from his list, the line went silent and then I heard a loud burp. I said did you just respond to me with a burp he said yup and hung up. Well I was hoping that High Performance Homes had learned their lesson and changed their ways, I can see by the reviews that they have not. My sister had her house re-sided over 2 years ago by High Performance homes. She answered a cold call, had the salesman come to her house (he brought his wife and mother with him, who does that?) and signed a contract with him. My sister was a recent widow and not used to making decisions by herself. HPH did the job in about 4 days. The job looks good and everything should have been fine, except that I am a retired General Contractor and started looking at the workmanship. To the point that I called HPH to address some of the issues I discovered. They answered my first call and upon realising I had a problem that needed correction, did not answer or return any of my calls, or registered letters that I sent to them. I finally, as my sisters agent, filled a complaint with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board. The Board sent a letter to HPH, requesting them meet with me and the Boards investigator at the job site. They never came to the meeting (Later said they never were notified of the meeting by the board) so the investigator did his inspection and came to the conclusion that, ''...the siding needs to be removed and new siding installed by a contractor competent to do siding work and the owner should have her money returned to her." She (I had no interest in the property) had to hire an attorney and file suit, with me listed as her agent. Suit was filed in Lane County, and is a matter of public record, and after over two years we were within weeks of going to trial. Her attorneys had honored our agreement that I was to act as her agent in all matters between her and HPH until 3 weeks before trial where they contacted her directly, without notifying me, and talked her into settling for a sum that left her with the original siding, a loan that she took out to pay for the siding and a loss in value of the home of approximately $50,000. The attorneys at that point refused to talk to me since, "...your sister is our client, not you." I am writing this review to let anyone who had their house sided by HPH within the last 3 years, know that perhaps you might want to hire an independent construction inspector to see if your homes siding was installed per Hardi Plank specifications. I had a great experience with this company and my roof looks amazing! I had three companies give quotes and this company was somewhere in the middle cost wise. I had the work done a year ago in the winter. They had some good discounts due to it being during the winter season and gave free upgrades for a higher quality material under the shingles. The salesman was knowledgable about the products and really wasn't pushy. The crew started work right away each day and didn't rush through. It did take about 3 days total with tear down, set up and installation for our 1,500 sq ft house. The foreman on the job communicated with me daily on the progress with updates about estimated finish day/times. After the work was done, they cleaned up everything around my home. Not a single nail was found and every piece of old shingles were cleaned up. Very happy with the the service, quality and the warranty is great! :) read more

Overpriced and poor customer service. The dispatcher is nice but she has to lie for the company. They were supposed to compete it Thursday through Saturday last week. I've had 2 no show days. This is day 6 with no end in sight. I will never use this company again. I should have read the reviews. They canvas neighborhoods so just say NO! read more

Run! Run far away from this company. Ignored the no soliciting sign, didn't wear a mask or take off their shoes when coming in my house. The guys attitude changed when we told him we were not interested in a roof and was rude. Also, got more bids from different roofers with better reviews, and their bids were about 8k less and used the same Owens Corning installment. RUN! read more

Is there a way to give these people 0 or negative stars? A couple of years ago, I got tricked by one of their door to door salesman into doing a layover roof. The price was about the same as what most roofers charge for a complete teardown and new roof, but I agreed to let them do the job. Very slick salesman, who talked about how good their roofers were. When they were installing the roof, I tried to get them to use a different roofing material over the porch, since it has little pitch. The guy assured me that it won't leak. A couple of years later, a leak developed in that area. Called one of their managers out to look at the leak. He agreed that they should have never used that type of roofing material in that area, but they won't fix it for free, since I guess the material used was no longer in warranty. So they agreed they messed up, but they won't help me out. Stay away from these slick salesmen.. read more

Signed contract. Next day, I am told they sent me an addendum to sign. they put the wrong window style on the contract, they can't do the same style of windows I had because they would be too expensive. I refuse to sign. I tell them to cancel the contract. Several days later I had not heard from them so I reached out and told them to perform the request as signed or cancel the contract. They told me they had started on the cancellation. I am told they don't know when I will get a check but they know the cancellation was approved. After several days of no contact, I reach out. they dont respond... I reach out again, no response... I reach out again.. still no response.. I look up and call their number. After talking to someone, this gets a response and I hear back at the end of the day. At this point, 10 days later, I am told I have to mail a letter requesting the cancellation. So now, I have to jump through hoops to get the $2250 back that I originally gave them even though I was originally told that the cancellation was approved. So first they try and bait and switch me on the windows.. then they refuse to respond until I make a stink, then they make me jump through hoops to get my money back. I called them back, was told the sales manager would call me. Have not yet had a call from the sales manager. I should have known better when they knocked on my door even though I clearly have a no soliciting sign. read more

They ignore no soliciting signs and knock on your door anyway. As soon as I pointed it out, he apologized and walked over to my neighbors (with a no soliciting sign) and did the same thing. Don't trust a company that chooses not to respect a simple request. read more
