We went to this office after being referred from the other Thrive office to have a mass removed from my dog's foot. My husband mostly took car of scheduling and did the initial drop off. I picked him up and received the follow up call from the doctor. For the most part we are very satisfied as it appears he is healing well. My only complaint was they sent him home with the wrong pain medication dose and we were only able to get that fixed 4 days after his surgery during his follow up visit. We didn't notice this discrepancy until later when the office was closed, so our dog was taking a lower dose and we aren't really sure if was having pain or not because of course he couldn't communicate that with us. As far as pricing goes, we thought the price for surgery was fair and everything was discussed with us before services were provided. No surprise fees which we totally appreciate. Will we be back? Simple answer is yes. Their office was communicative, thorough, and explained everything to us. Took extra precautions during drop off and pick up. We got frequent texts to pay, reminders, check ins, and calls which worked out well. Only downside is parking up front is limited especially since pet parents have to wait in the car. The overall location is easy to find and located in the Tom Thumb shopping center. read more

Love this place!! Warren the veterinary assistant was warm and friendly. Dr. Holland was a total sweetheart and was informative. I felt like I got top notch care and my dog is doing so much better. They even provided advice on how to take care of my puppy ongoing, and I already set up his next visit. The price was also nice!!!! $59 for shots and $15 exam fee. Anywhere else I would've paid much more. Including his treatment I paid less than $80!! I could only suggest more comfortable seating in the waiting room, as the wooden benches kinda hurt lol. BUT, I only waited a few minutes so no big deal. With the inexpensive price, I'll definitely sacrifice seating. read more

I have been here for 2 years. It used to be really great service when Dr Allen was here but the service has really gone down hill. You always have to play phone tag to talk to a nurse or doctor. I brought my dog in on Saturday(dec 12) who had previously had cancer to get a full check up they suggested senior bloodwork. I agreed. I also knew that we needed to get an ultrasound so i requested a referral. It took several days for VCA hospital (their choice) to even talk to me because they didn't receive the proper paperwork from the vet to schedule. So by the time they got the paperwork it was late Thursday(dec 17) afternoon. They scheduled me for a $200 CONSULTATION not even an ultrasound in February. They will decide whether we need one or not. Which we had an ultrasound previously in May and we were told we needed another follow up in 6-8 months. For our current bloodwork results i was told her pancreas enzymes are high and she has blood in her urine on Monday dec 14 and i should get her ultrasound scheduled.. End of conversation. There was absolutely no concern. I get frustrated i find an imaging place that can get me in. I have another set of back and forth phone calls with Thrive until they can properly send the correct paperwork to the imaging place. So December 18th we go to Collin County Imaging. I know 100% for a fact they send the images to a radiologist in Georgia who looks at it and types a thorough report and then sends it to the vet. I also know Thrive received this report Monday the 21st at 9 pm according to the receptionist. I called every single day including today December 28th to asks for my results. Dr Bear finally calls me back at 5:05 pm and says "you had questions about your ultrasound?" I replied yes i need results. She said she doesn't read them... she had a very dismissive non-caring attitude. You could hear the laugh and smirk in her voice. She said she'd try and find someone to read the results to me. Again I've been through this and I know what radiologist they use and what the report looks like. This isn't my first rodeo. I later get a text on options referring to the oncologist. We may not even need to go to an oncologist it all depends what is typed up in the report that she's incapable of reading to me. I can't start a plan of action without my ultrasound results. I completely understand with covid that things are tough but i can't believe someone who takes care of animals can be so uncaring and not willing to help you. I called the Frisco Emergency where we had our surgery 2 years ago and they were 20 times more helpful to me and I've only been there twice. You get what you paid for. This place is great for a cheap shot but if you actually want real help or a knowledgeable doctor, this place is not for you. UPDATE: called thrive(dec 29) to get my records sent to me. We had a family gathering this past weekend with relatives coming from hundreds of miles. Of course, family means pets too and one of our sweet pets became ill while visiting. It was Saturday evening when we realized that my brother and sister-in-law's bichon had blood in her urine. She was also posturing repeatedly to relieve herself with little or no results. I was so relieved to find that Thrive was open and could see her, as that is where we take our animals and have been very pleased. I was reassuring family they were in good hands, and we would get help for Gabby. However, this experience was quite different from previous visits, and I was so embarrassed that I had spoken so highly of this facility. After Gabby (the bichon) was examined by the vet tech and reported that Gabby was running a fever, Dr. Arnold came into the room with an immediate attitude. He stated that they needed to extract a specimen from Gabby's bladder and send it off to a lab with results not being available for up to five days. Of course, that was going to cost an additional $150+ dollars. We asked if they could get a sample (the old-fashioned way) and evaluate it in clinic, he agreed. But when he came back, he reported he couldn't identify any bacteria on the slide. So, we asked if he would prescribe Gabby with a broad-spectrum antibiotic to help her until she could get home on Tuesday and see her own vet. Dr. Arnold refused! He indicated he was concerned that she might develop antibiotic resistance. She is going to develop a resistance in 4 days? This doctor would do nothing to help her other than a steroid injection or expensive tests that, in my opinion, was nothing more than adding costs by adding unnecessary services. Luckily, Gabby is home, saw her regular vet today and was immediately put on a broad-spectrum antibiotic. Unfortunately, this has tainted my previously good experiences and we will be looking for another vet for our animals. read more

I heard this place used to be really great. I hoped that it would become an affordable option for my two new cats. But the moment I walked in I had a bad feeling. One, the front desk girl was rude. I called up three days prior to my appointment and told them I have a new cat who's cat dad died and I have none of the records yet. He's eight years old and he has an eye infection. I wanted to get him checked out and get his eye looked at. I asked them if it was OK that I had none of his records. They said yes. I drove 20 minutes with my stressed cat to the appointment. When I get there, they tell me, I have to get him a rabies shot. I ask why. Because I don't know when his last rabies shot was, and, if it was recently, I do not want to get him another one. They said they had to give him a rabies shot to protect the doctors. Um... Did these people not graduate fifth grade science? It doesn't matter how many rabies shots you give an animal, if they have rabies it won't help them! And it will not protect the doctors. It's just an excuse to up charge me for a rabies shot. They didn't care if it would hurt my cat. They didn't care if I drove all the way there for an appointment. And they sure didn't care that they didn't tell me this over the phone. This place is scammy, and not much cheaper than an actual vet who knows what he/she is doing. Go somewhere else. ***side note, I did not appreciate the front desk chick barging into the room where my cat was without knocking. My cat ran out and this chick said with way too much attitude, "It was just standing by the front door." You're the human.. if you had knocked I could have picked him up so he wouldn't run out. Don't blame my freakin cat for your incompetence. I'm really disappointed in this place. And we never even got to the vet! Thank God! read more

This has nothing to do with your location, but your office on Park and Coit in Plano, I couldn't bring it up. My Mother is 81 and has a hard time walking Her cat is 16. The cat won't come out from under the bed and hasn't eaten or drank in two weeks. My mom can't bend down and help her out We took her to VCA on Coit and Park . We met Dr Alisha Stillers and she was the rudest vet I have ever encountered. She made my 81 year old mother think that she was a piece of crap! She also convinced her to do blood work SssSSURPRISE! Based on our experience, if you have a sick or hurt dog, do not take your pet to this urgent care clinic. Go to Hillside. Go to MedVet. Go to one of the actual hospitals if you are going after hours. They were nice enough and saw us quickly on a Friday evening, but their customer service the next day was severely lacking (I.e., unable to answer basics questions about transferring records, no communication between the after-hours staff and regular staff) and the vet seemed confused in their description of diagnosis and recommendations for care. I'm hesitant to post this review because I'm embarrassed that my cat bit one of their vet techs. However, I feel uncomfortable about how the entire situation was handled and like I put my pet in a bad situation unknowingly. I assume the vets are the experts and know what's best, but that's not the case here. I haven't kept up with my cat's rabies vaccines because she's indoor only and doesn't have contact with outdoor pets and going to the vet is an extremely stressful situation for her (most cats). I wasn't aware of the issues like fines and quarantines that can arise and this vet didn't make me aware before they tried to perform a surgical dental cleaning on her. They also didn't get any of her previous records or ask me about them. They stored her in cage for four hours this morning (which they declined to tell me was going to happen) before attempting to draw blood to do tests and then didn't restrain her well enough, so she got loose and bit their vet tech out of stress to get them to leave her be; she also peed on herself for being so scared. So now she's in a rabies quarantine for 10 days after already dealing with a ton of stress this morning/afternoon. The entire situation just seems off - I'm frustrated that they didn't warn me about any of this since they're the ones that deal with this daily and should be the pros. I'm also frustrated that my cat was put in such a stressful situation that she peed on herself and felt the need to bite to get people to leave her alone. I will be getting my pet fully vaccinated after the quarantine is over now that I'm fully aware of the risks, but it will not be at this clinic. read more

I spoke with a lady yesterday, lovely woman, I caught her on her way out and asked her about my dogs. She said we are closed early today due to a family emergency. She told me to come back or try to make an appt at another location. I walk in this morning and speak to the young lady working at the desk and she was rude off the bat. I told her I did not have an appt and I was just walking in. She said "we don't have anything today." There's nobody waiting to be seen or waiting for their animal so I'm confused as to why can't my dogs be seen and nobody is there???? My chiuwheenie was in need for his vaccinations to be updated so I took him to Thrive. Scheduling was easy as I was able to do it online and check in was pretty fast as well. This place is ABSOLUTELY GREAT!! I took my silky terrier Griffen and my yorkie Denver Saturday morning. I had an appointment for Griffen but took Denver as a walk-in at the same time. They happily saw Denver at the same time. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I felt like I was taking my dogs to a friend instead of the vet. They cleaned both my dogs ears, trimmed one dogs toe nails, gave both an exam and washed out ones eyes. I left with two medicines and some great advice on store bought foods and dog treats. All this and I paid just under $100. For two dogs exams, medicine and clean ears and eyes; this is unheard of. Both my dogs look and feel great! My cats have been patients here for three years. Both times I needed to make an emergency visit they have been a waste of a phone call. The first time, which a reviewed here, the earliest appointment they could give me for my cat who was not eating a running a temperature was two weeks out. I had to take her to an emergency room that night. This time my cat is experiencing GI distress and I could not get him calmed down enough to crate him. I called for medication to give him to relax him and their response was the vet who is at the clinic now has never seen him and they will not help me. The vet he usually sees is not in the office. I cancelled all my well cat checks (3 cats), requested all their visit documentation and will never return to this clinic. read more

Terrible experience with this vet. I recommended my sister take her cat here and I regret that. When making the appointment all the information was given to the person on the phone. They were told this cat has only been with his new owner for about a week and his original owner had recently died so his records were not available to us at the moment. They were told he has a possible eye infection which is why we need to see the vet before we obtained his records. They said no problem and made the appointment. After taking off work and putting the poor cat through the trauma of a car ride (remember his entire life has just changed overnight), upon arrival to Thrive we were informed by the front desk person that the doctors won't see him because he doesn't have any records to show he has had his rabies shot. Either we have to allow them to give him a rabies shot or not be seen. We were clear on the phone we did not want any vaccinations done because we don't have his records. This was a well taken care of cat and it is highly likely he recently had his rabies shot and didn't want to risk giving him another. The front desk person put us in a room. We let the cat out as anyone does at a vet to walk around while we waited. This chick just opens the door without any warning so we could pick him up and was annoyed at us that he got out of the room. I have never been around such unprofessionalism at a vet in my life. This is my sisters cat, so I called my vet and they said they would see him. They explained that if in the examination the doctor felt the cat had signs of rabies he would then by law have to give him the shot, but it was not likely he had rabies since he was an inside sweet docile cat and in the week my sister has had him has never once bit or scratched her and shown any other symptoms. Thrive should have communicated to us that this was the case before making the appointment, not rudely told once we were there. People have lives, taking time off work to be shown the door without this poor little guy being seen is ridiculous. So I would encourage you to spend a little extra and go to a vet who actually cares, these guys DO NOT! read more

Made a 2:45pm appt and a 3pm appt for my two dogs 1/13/22. I called because I was running 10 min late for the first appt. The lady on the phone told me that my appt. was for 2:30pm and they wouldn't be able to see both of them. I insisted that my appt. was for 2:45pm and that I had an email verifying that. She checked again and said, nope we have the first one down as 2:30 and that would make me :25 minutes late. And that they would only be able to see 1 of the dogs at 3:00pm. My friend took my dog in while I was in the car do to a leg injury, the receptionist came out to explain the laundry list of things the doctor was trying to up sale me and the vet assistant came out and rudely told her she was not allowed to come out to the car and talk to people, that I had to come in, she was very very rude. I took my Ginger here for the first time yesterday and I must say, at first I was nervous about not being able to go in with my little girl Ginger, however, they made me feel so comfortable and completely sure that she was in good hands. I love the professionalism they displayed and the fact the doctor call me to give me an update on her visit. Also, they love not only their jobs, but your furry babies as well. As I sat in my car I seen many happy, trusting people drop off their fur babies here and that really made me feel better since I'm new to the area as well. Overall great experience at this Thrive location. Our pup is very anxious and has severe separation anxiety. He is one that has to be muzzled when vaccines and wellness exams are given. The techs and Dr. Kailey Phi took things slow and didn't push our pup, they did it at his pace. Dr. Kailey and one of the techs talked us through some tips and advice for separation anxiety and really listened to us and our concerns. Would recommend this location to anyone looking for routine check ups/vaccinations. (I have not used they're urgent care, dental, or surgery options so can't review those areas) read more

This is hands-down the BEST veterinary care I could have found for my kitten. From the vet techs to the doctors everyone at this location is kind, helpful, clearly loves animals, and makes every effort to provide high quality care. My kitten was rescued from the side of the road, and with my abundance of questions (does he need special food? Does he need extra tests? Etc.) they had every opportunity to upsell me or push me to purchase additional services, but instead I was given honest answers about the level of care he would need and was never encouraged or pushed to buy unnecessary add-ons. I appreciate that they didn't take advantage of my desire to do what's best for my furbaby and instead gave me a realistic and honest opinion. Regardless of price, I will never take my pets anywhere else. Now for the $$$: after every visit I am SHOCKED in the best way possible at how affordable the exams, tests, vaccinations, etc. are. This office is a wonderful choice if you are seeking quality care for your pet. We are from the Houston area, and found ourselves in need of care for our Dachshund, Lexie. I called and made an appointment, and took her. They were so warm and inviting, Gloria was so kind and caring with Lexie, and Dr. Robinson treated her with the same, he offered us education of Lexie's health challenges without making us feel like we needed to buy something or change what we already do for her heart. I really wanted to like this veterinary office since we'd been taking our fur babies to the one in McKinney for a few years now, but my interaction with Ashany (young lady working on 3/3 around 3:40pm) certainly made me reconsider. Not only was she extremely rude but she was also condescending when I called to inquire about them carrying the prescription food the doctor recommended. Her initial response was 'you meant to call Petsmart because they sell pet food. We don't. So, let me give you their number.' I, then, explained that I was well aware that I'd called THRIVE as well as what I'd called to make an inquiry about. I also explained that I was calling their offices for clarity from the doctor. She, then, condescendingly repeated the exact words she'd initially stated - telling me they don't sell dog food and I needed to call Petsmart. Thousands of dollars spent with this company and I can't get basic respect (let alone a succinct explanation) from the front desk regarding my fur babies prescription food. Needless to say, I prefer to make the 20-minute drive and keep my business and money at the McKinney location. read more

I followed Dr. Decker from a previous vet clinic for my dog Pico. He has some anxiety and has had medical issues in the past and does not do well at the vet.Dr. Decker makes Pico feel at ease and does whatever she can to make him feel not so scared. I highly recommend Thrive and Dr. Decker. You will not be disappointed, you get great care and affordable prices. Pico is scheduled to have dental work in December and I was actually holding off due to the expense of the surgery and personal medical care that I needed. Now expenses are not a thing to worry about with my animals because of such affordable prices they have. He needs major dental work and I was quoted on the low end $1000 and high $3000 at the his previous clinic I took him to. I can rest assure that anyone who goes and sees Dr. Decker will not be disappointed. Nicole the technician was so sweet, calm and listen to all concerns I had with Pico along with me bringing my puppy in for acute diarrhea . Best vet in Plano! I am (and was) so impressed with the staff of the Legacy Dr. Plano, TX Thrive Affordable Vet Care practice. Due to the current CoVid-19 distancing guidelines, I had the privilege of only meeting one staff member face to face outside the front entrance. That staff member was extremely professional and kind. Other staff members that I was introduced to via the telephone, including Dr. Robinson, were also professional in gathering all the necessary details regarding my dog's health. All the staff I spoke with came across as compassionate and caring, both for my pet friend and me. I waited in my car and after the exam the Dr. called to discuss his findings in great detail; he explained all the possible treatment options along with the pros and cons of each. As a fellow allergy sufferer the Dr. was also very understanding and knowledgeable of the situation we were experiencing, and I appreciated his nonjudgmental attitude immensely. I'm very grateful to have visited this office and very pleased with the service and care that the staff provided for my family pet and myself. We will also be returning for future well exam visits and look forward to meeting everyone in person. read more

The best vet we have ever step foot in! We were running late and called to update them and they assured us it was no problem. We walked in and were greeted immediately. The establishment is clean and smells good. All the workers there adore animals. Dr Holland was very nice and explained everything thoroughly. He did a full body examination checking every part of her body. He was honest and told us he could do an x ray but it is not really needed. They did not try to up sell any care and did was was needed for our girl. They reassured us that she is in good health and answered all of our questions without a problem. This is our go to vet now.
